ಉಡುಪಿ; ಬಹುನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿತ ಸನ್ಮಾನ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರತಿಭಾ ಪುರಸ್ಕಾರ ವಿತರಣಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ನೋಂದಣಿ ಮತ್ತು ಉಪಹಾರದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಯಿತು, ನಂತರ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 10.00 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಕ್ಯಾಥೋಲಿಕ್ ಸಭಾದ ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಗಳು ನಡೆದವು.

ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಸಂಚಾಲಕ ಮತ್ತು ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಕ್ಯಾಥೋಲಿಕ್ ಸಭಾದ ಮಾಜಿ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಡಾ. ಜೆರಾಲ್ಡ್ ಪಿಂಟೊ ಅವರು ಸಭೆಗೆ ಆತ್ಮೀಯ ಸ್ವಾಗತವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ದಿನದ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಕುರಿತು ಚಿಂತನಶೀಲ ಪರಿಚಯವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದರು.

ನಂತರ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಲೋಕೋಪಕಾರಿಗಳಾದ ಮುಂಬೈನ ಜಾನ್ ಡಿ’ಸಿಲ್ವಾ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್‌ನ ಶ್ರೀ ಜಾನ್ ಡಿ’ಸಿಲ್ವಾ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಗ್ಲಾಡಿಸ್ ಡಿ’ಸಿಲ್ವಾ, ಉಡುಪಿ ಡಯಾಸಿಸ್ನ ಬಿಷಪ್ ಅವರ ಪ್ರಭು ರೆವರೆಂಡ್ ಡಾ. ಜೆರಾಲ್ಡ್ ಐಸಾಕ್ ಲೋಬೊ ಮತ್ತು ಇತರ ಗಣ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳು ವೇದಿಕೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಜ್ಞಾನದ ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ದೀಪವನ್ನು ಬೆಳಗಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿದರು.

ಬಿಷಪ್ ಜೆರಾಲ್ಡ್ ಐಸಾಕ್ ಲೋಬೊ ತಮ್ಮ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಾ ಭಾಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಜೀವನದ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಸುವರ್ಣ ತತ್ವಗಳಿಂದ ಸ್ಫೂರ್ತಿ ನೀಡಿದರು:

ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕನಸು ಕಾಣಿರಿ – ಕನಸುಗಳು ದೃಷ್ಟಿ ಮತ್ತು ನಿರ್ದೇಶನವನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತವೆ.
ಆ ಕನಸುಗಳನ್ನು ನನಸಾಗಿಸಲು ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಿ – ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಜ್ಞಾನವು ಯಶಸ್ಸಿನ ಅಡಿಪಾಯವಾಗಿದೆ.
ಸಮರ್ಪಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ಏಕಾಗ್ರತೆಯಿಂದ ಕಠಿಣ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮ – ಸಾಧನೆಗೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ಅಡ್ಡದಾರಿಗಳಿಲ್ಲ.
ಸ್ಥಿರತೆ ಮತ್ತು ದೃಢಸಂಕಲ್ಪಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿ – ಅಂತಿಮ ಯಶಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ದಾರಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಡಿ.

ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಒಂದು ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಅಂಶವೆಂದರೆ ಶ್ರೀ ಶ್ರೇಯಾನ್ ಗೋಮ್ಸ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸುವುದು, ಅವರು ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ಯುಪಿಎಸ್‌ಸಿ ನಾಗರಿಕ ಸೇವೆಗಳ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ 372 ನೇ ಅಖಿಲ ಭಾರತ ರ್ಯಾಂಕ್ ಗಳಿಸಿದರು. ತಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರೇರಕ ಸಂದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ, ಅವರು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಸೇವೆಗಾಗಿ ಆಶಿಸುವಾಗ ಜೀವನದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಹಂತಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿ, ಸತ್ಯತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕತೆಯ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು.

ಇಸ್ರೋ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಿ ಶ್ರೀ ರಿಚರ್ಡ್ ಪಿಂಟೊ ಅವರ ಸ್ಪೂರ್ತಿದಾಯಕ ಭಾಷಣದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಸ್ಮರಣೀಯ ಕ್ಷಣ ಬಂದಿತು, ಅವರು ಕಷ್ಟ ಮತ್ತು ಬಡತನದಿಂದ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮನ್ನಣೆಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಗಮನಾರ್ಹ ಪ್ರಯಾಣವನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಅವರ ಕಥೆ – ಇಚ್ಛಾಶಕ್ತಿ, ಪರಿಶ್ರಮ ಮತ್ತು ಅಚಲ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ಗುರುತಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ – ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರನ್ನು ಆಳವಾಗಿ ಸ್ಪರ್ಶಿಸಿತು, ದೃಢಸಂಕಲ್ಪವು ಹಾದಿಯನ್ನು ಬೆಳಗಿಸಿದಾಗ ಯಾವುದೇ ಅಡೆತಡೆಗಳು ದೊಡ್ಡದಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಸಾಬೀತುಪಡಿಸಿತು.

ಉಡುಪಿ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಕ್ಯಾಥೋಲಿಕ್ ಸಭಾದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ರೊನಾಲ್ಡ್ ಡಿ’ಅಲ್ಮೇಡಾ ಅವರು ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೀಯ ಭಾಷಣ ಮಾಡಿದರು, ಅವರು ಪ್ರತಿಭಾ ಪುರಸ್ಕಾರವನ್ನು ವರ್ಷಾನುವರ್ಷ ಪ್ರಾಯೋಜಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಜಾನ್ ಡಿ’ಸಿಲ್ವಾ ಮತ್ತು ಕುಟುಂಬದವರು ತೋರಿದ ಕಾಳಜಿ, ಔದಾರ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ದಯೆಗಾಗಿ ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಯನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು. ಅವರು ಡಾಕ್ಟರೇಟ್ ಪದವಿಗಳು, ಚಾರ್ಟರ್ಡ್ ಅಕೌಂಟೆಂಟ್‌ಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಹತ್ತನೇ ತರಗತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪಿ.ಯು. ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಉತ್ತಮ ಸಾಧನೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ವಿವಿಧ ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷ್‌ಗಳ ಪ್ರತಿಭಾನ್ವಿತ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅಭಿನಂದಿಸಿದರು. ನಗದು ಬಹುಮಾನಗಳು, ಪ್ರಮಾಣಪತ್ರಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಗೌರವಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆದ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಪುರಸ್ಕೃತರು ತಮ್ಮ ಭಾವನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂತೋಷದಿಂದ ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡರು ಮತ್ತು ಕ್ಯಾಥೋಲಿಕ್ ಸಭೆ ಮತ್ತು ಡಿ’ಸಿಲ್ವಾ ಕುಟುಂಬಕ್ಕೆ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಯನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.

ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಬಾರ್ಕೂರಿನ ಶ್ರೀ ಎರಿಕ್ ಸೋನ್ಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ನಿಯೋಜಿತ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಲೂಯಿಸ್ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜಾ ಅವರು ಸುಂದರವಾಗಿ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿದರು, ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಜೋಯಲ್ ಡಿ’ಅಲ್ಮೇಡಾ ಅವರು ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು. ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭವನ್ನು ಲೋಕೋಪಕಾರಿಗಳಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಜಾನ್ ಡಿ’ಸಿಲ್ವಾ, ಹಿಂದಿನ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರುಗಳಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಸಂತೋಷ್ ಕಾರ್ನೆಲಿಯೊ, ಸಂಚಾಲಕ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಯೋಜಕರಾದ ಡಾ. ಜೆರಾಲ್ಡ್ ಪಿಂಟೊ ಮತ್ತು ಖಜಾಂಚಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಜಿ. ಅರ್ಬನ್ ಲೂಯಿಸ್ ಅವರು ಅಲಂಕರಿಸಿದರು.

ಫೆಲೋಶಿಪ್ ಊಟದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಮುಕ್ತಾಯವಾಯಿತು, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವವರಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಫೂರ್ತಿ, ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆ ಮತ್ತು ನವೀಕೃತ ದೃಢಸಂಕಲ್ಪದ ಶಾಶ್ವತವಾದ ಅನಿಸಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮೂಡಿಸಿತು.

The much-awaited Felicitation and Prathibha Puraskar Distribution Programme began with registration and breakfast, followed by the customary prayers of Catholic Sabha at 10.00 a.m.

Dr. Gerald Pinto, Convener of the programme and former President of Catholic Sabha, Mangalore Pradesh, extended a warm welcome to the gathering and gave a thoughtful introduction on the significance of the day’s event.

The programme was then inaugurated by philanthropists Mr. John D’Silva and Mrs. Gladys D’Silva of the John D’Silva Foundation, Mumbai, together with His Lordship Rt Rev Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi Diocese, and other distinguished guests on the dais, by lighting the traditional lamp of knowledge.

In his inaugural address, Bishop Gerald Isaac Lobo inspired the students with four golden principles of life:

Dream big in life – for dreams give vision and direction.
Acquire knowledge to realise those dreams – as knowledge is the foundation of success.
Work hard with dedication and concentration – since there are no shortcuts to achievement.
Cultivate perseverance – for consistency and determination pave the way to ultimate success.

A shining highlight of the event was the felicitation of Mr. Shreyan Gomes, who recently secured an impressive All-India Rank of 372 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination. In his motivational message, he encouraged students to aspire for Government service while stressing the values of social responsibility, truthfulness, and sincerity in all walks of life.

Another memorable moment came with the inspiring address by ISRO Scientist Mr. Richard Pinto, who shared his remarkable journey from hardship and poverty to national recognition. His story—marked by willpower, persistence, and unshakable faith—deeply moved the audience, proving that no obstacle is too great when determination lights the path.

The Presidential Address was delivered by Mr. Ronald D’Almeida, President of Catholic Sabha, Udupi Pradesh, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to Mr. John D’Silva and family for their concern, generosity, and benevolence in sponsoring the Prathibha Puraskar year after year. He congratulated Doctorates, Chartered Accountants, and the meritorious students from various parishes who excelled in Class X and P.U. examinations. The awardees, who received cash prizes, certificates, and honours, joyfully shared their feelings and expressed gratitude to the Catholic Sabha and the D’Silva family.

The programme was compered gracefully by Mr. Eric Soans of Barkur and Mr. Louis D’Souza, President-designate, while Mr. Joel D’Almeida, Secretary, proposed the Vote of Thanks. The occasion was graced by philanthropists Mr. & Mrs. John D’Silva, Past Presidents including Mr. Santhosh Carnelio, Convenor and Coordinator Dr. Gerald Pinto, and Treasurer Mr. G. Urban Lewis.The event concluded with a fellowship lunch, leaving behind a lasting impression of inspiration, gratitude, and renewed determination among students and participants alike.
