Tallur – Feast of the Assumption of Mother Mary and 79th Independence Day
ತಲ್ಲೂರು ಸಂತ ಫ್ರಾನ್ಸಿಸ್ ದೇವಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ದಿನಾಂಕ 15-08-2025ರಂದು ಮಾತೆ ಮೇರಿಯ ಸ್ವರ್ಗಾರೋಹಣ ಹಬ್ಬ ಹಾಗೂ 79ನೇ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯೋತ್ಸವವನ್ನು ಅದ್ದೂರಿಯಾಗಿ ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಬಲಿಪೂಜೆಯನ್ನು ವಂದನೀಯ ಫಾ. ಎಲ್ವಿಸ್ ಲೂಯಿಸ್ ನೆರವೇರಿಸಿದರು. ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಚರ್ಚಿನ ಧರ್ಮ ಗುರುಗಳಾದ ವಂದನೀಯ ಫಾ. ಎಡ್ವಿನ್ ಡಿಸೋಜ ಹಾಗೂ ವಂದನೀಯ ಫಾ. ಬ್ರಾಯನ್ ಲೋಬೋ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
ಧ್ವಜಾರೋಹಣ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ತಲ್ಲೂರು ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಗ್ರಾಮಲೆಕ್ಕಿಗರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಆನಂದ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಉಪ್ಪಿನಕುದ್ರು (ವಿಯಾ ಹೆಮ್ಮಾಡಿ) ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಗ್ರಾಮಲೆಕ್ಕಿಗರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಶಿವರಾಯ ರವರು ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಆಗಮಿಸಿದರು.
ಭಾರತದ ಭೂಸೇನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದ ಶ್ರೀ ಶಿವರಾಯ ರವರು ಧ್ವಜಾರೋಹಣ ನಡೆಸಿ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಧ್ವಜಕ್ಕೆ ನಮನ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು. ತಮ್ಮ ಭಾಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ವಿದೇಶಿ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ನಮಗೆ ದೊರೆತ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯವು ಅನೇಕ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಹೋರಾಟಗಾರರ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮದ ಫಲವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ರಾಜಕೀಯ ವಿಭಿನ್ನತೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಏಕತೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಂವಿಧಾನದ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡುವುದು ನಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ನೆನಪಿಸಿದರು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಂತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ವಂದನೀಯ ಫಾ. ಎಡ್ವಿನ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ ರವರು ಅತಿಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿನ ಕಾಣಿಕೆ ನೀಡಿ ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಿದರು.
ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಚರ್ಚಿನ ಪಾಲನಾ ಮಂಡಳಿಯ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಕ್ಯಾಲ್ವಿನ್ ಮೆಂಡೋನ್ಸ, ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ರೀನಾ ಮೆಂಡೋನ್ಸ, ಧರ್ಮಭಗಿನಿಯರು ಹಾಗೂ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಬಾಂಧವರು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
ಇಡೀ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ICYM ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯಿತು. ಚರ್ಚಿನ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿ, ವಂದಿಸಿದರು. ICYM ಸದಸ್ಯೆ ಕುಮಾರಿ ಹನೀಶಾ ಮೆಂಡೋನ್ಸ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು. ಸಿಹಿತಿಂಡಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಮುಕ್ತಾಯಗೊಂಡಿತು.
Tallur – Feast of the Assumption of Mother Mary and 79th Independence Day
On 15th August 2025, the Feast of the Assumption of Mother Mary and the 79th Independence Day were celebrated with great solemnity at St. Francis Assisi Church, Tallur.
At 7:30 a.m., the Holy Eucharist was celebrated by , Rev. Fr. Elvis Lewis. Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Edwin D’souza and Rev. Fr.Brayan Lobo were also present.
The flag-hoisting ceremony was graced by the presence of Mr. Anand Kumar, Village Accountant of Tallur, and Mr. Shivaraya, Village Accountant of Uppinakudru (via Hemmady).
Mr. Shivaraya, who had served in the Indian Army, hoisted the national flag and paid homage. In his address, he recalled how foreign powers like the British, Portuguese, and French exploited India, and how our freedom was earned through the sacrifices of countless freedom fighters and great leaders. He reminded everyone of the importance of preserving unity in diversity and upholding the values enshrined in the Indian Constitution.
At the conclusion of the program, Rev. Fr. Edwin D’Souza honored the guests with mementos.
The program was attended by Parish Council Vice President Mr. Calvin Mendonca, Secretary Mrs. Reena Mendonca, the Sisters of the parish, and parishioners.
The entire event was organized under the leadership of ICYM. The Parish Vice President welcomed and thanked the gathering, and ICYM member Ms. Hanisha Mendonca compered the program. The celebration concluded with the distribution of sweets.
