Reconstitution of the Shimoga Diocesan Service of Communion (SDSC) held under the guidance of NSC and KRSC; new leadership team discerned
ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ, ಆಗಸ್ಟ್ 17, 2025: ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಡಯೋಸಿಸನ್ ಬಿಷಪ್ ಅತಿ ವಂದನೀಯ ಡಾ. ಫ್ರಾನ್ಸಿಸ್ ಸೆರಾವ್ ಎಸ್ಜೆ ಅವರ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದದೊಂದಿಗೆ, ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಡಯೋಸಿಸನ್ ಸರ್ವಿಸ್ ಆಫ್ ಕಮ್ಯುನಿಯನ್ (SDSC) ಅನ್ನು ಆಗಸ್ಟ್ 16 ಮತ್ತು 17, 2025 ರಂದು ಅಧಿಕೃತವಾಗಿ ಪುನರ್ರಚಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಪುನರ್ರಚನೆಯನ್ನು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಕಮ್ಯುನಿಯನ್ ಸೇವೆ (NSC) ಮತ್ತು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ ಕಮ್ಯುನಿಯನ್ ಸೇವೆ (KRSC) ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಸಲಾಯಿತು ಮತ್ತು ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗದ ಪ್ಯಾಸ್ಟೋರಲ್ ನವೀಕರಣ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಪುನರ್ರಚನಾ ತಂಡದಲ್ಲಿ KRSC ಯ ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾದ ಫಾದರ್ ಫ್ರಾಂಕ್ಲಿನ್ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜಾ ಮತ್ತು SDSC; NSC ಸದಸ್ಯರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಗಾಡ್ಫ್ರೇ ಪೆರೇರಾ; KRSC ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಥಾಮಸ್ ಚಿನ್ನಪ್ಪ; ಮತ್ತು KRSC ಸದಸ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಅಜಯ್ ಇದ್ದರು.
ದಿನ 1: ರಚನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಚಿಂತನೆ
ಆಗಸ್ಟ್ 16 ರಂದು ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 9:00 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಸಹೋದರ ಜಾನ್ ಲೋಬೊ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಜಪಮಾಲೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ತುತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಆರಾಧನೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕಲಾಪಗಳು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾದವು, ನಂತರ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 9:30 ಕ್ಕೆ ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಡಯಾಸಿಸ್ನ ಕುಲಪತಿ ರೆವರೆಂಡ್ ಫಾದರ್ ಸ್ಟೀಫನ್ ಮ್ಯಾಕ್ಸಿ ಅಲ್ಬುಕರ್ಕ್ ಅವರಿಂದ ಔಪಚಾರಿಕ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನೆ ನಡೆಯಿತು. ತಮ್ಮ ಭಾಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ, ಅವರು ಡಿಎಸ್ಸಿ ತಂಡದ ಬದ್ಧತೆಯನ್ನು ಶ್ಲಾಘಿಸಿದರು. ನಿರ್ಣಾಯಕ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ, ಮಧ್ಯಸ್ಥಿಕೆಯು ನಮ್ಮ ಡಯಾಸಿಸ್ಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 10 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಸಹೋದರ ಅಜಯ್ “ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಮತ್ತು ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾದ” ಕುರಿತು ಅಧಿವೇಶನವನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿದರು, ನಂತರ ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನದವರೆಗೆ ಶ್ರೀ ಗಾಡ್ಫ್ರೇ ಪೆರೇರಾ ಅವರಿಂದ “ಚರ್ಚ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಸಿಆರ್ ಮತ್ತು ನಾಯಕತ್ವ” ಕುರಿತು ಬೋಧನೆ ನಡೆಯಿತು.
ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನವು ಸಹೋದರ ಫ್ರಾನ್ಸಿಸ್ ಡಿ’ಮೆಲ್ಲೊ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಗಳಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಆರಾಧನೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕಾಯಿದೆಗಳು 8:9-22 ರ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಸೇವಕ ನಾಯಕತ್ವದ ಕುರಿತು ಫಾದರ್ ಫ್ರಾಂಕ್ಲಿನ್ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜಾ ಅವರಿಂದ ಅಧಿವೇಶನ ಮುಂದುವರೆಯಿತು. ಇದರ ನಂತರ ಸಂಜೆ 5 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಸಹೋದರ ಥಾಮಸ್ ಚಿನ್ನಪ್ಪ ಅವರಿಂದ “ಸೇವಾ ತಂಡದ ಸದಸ್ಯರ ಪಾತ್ರ ಮತ್ತು ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಗಳು” ಕುರಿತು ಅಧಿವೇಶನ ನಡೆಯಿತು.
ಸಂಜೆ 7 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ, ಫಾದರ್ ಫ್ರಾಂಕ್ಲಿನ್ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜಾ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಯೂಕರಿಸ್ಟ್ ಅನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು “ಪ್ರಮಾಣ: ಭಗವಂತನ ಧ್ಯೇಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂರು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಬದ್ಧತೆ” ಕುರಿತು ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶವನ್ನು ಬೋಧಿಸಿದರು.
ಬ್ರದರ್ ಥಾಮಸ್ ಚಿನ್ನಪ್ಪ ದಿನದ ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಯಾಗಿ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು.
ದಿನ 2: ವಿವೇಚನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಹೊಸ ನಾಯಕತ್ವ
ಎರಡನೇ ದಿನವು ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 7:00 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಬ್ರದರ್ ಥಾಮಸ್ ಚಿನ್ನಪ್ಪ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ತುತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪೂಜೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಯಿತು.
ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 8:30 ಕ್ಕೆ. ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ, ನಾಮನಿರ್ದೇಶಿತರು ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು, ನಂತರ ಬ್ರದರ್ ಥಾಮಸ್ ಚಿನ್ನಪ್ಪ “ಚುನಾವಣಾ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆ” ಕುರಿತು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮತದಾನವನ್ನು ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 10 ಗಂಟೆಯವರೆಗೆ ನಡೆಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಬ್ರದರ್ ಗಾಡ್ಫ್ರೇ ಪೆರೇರಾ, ಬ್ರದರ್ ಅಜಯ್, ಬ್ರದರ್ ಥಾಮಸ್ ಚಿನ್ನಪ್ಪ ಮತ್ತು ಫ್ರಾಂಕ್ಲಿನ್ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜಾ ವಿವೇಚನಾ ತಂಡದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದರು. ಈ ಮಧ್ಯೆ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವವರು ಪೂಜ್ಯ ಸಂಸ್ಕಾರದ ಮುಂದೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿದರು.
2025 ರಿಂದ 2028 ರವರೆಗಿನ ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ಈ ಕೆಳಗಿನ ನಾಯಕರನ್ನು ವಿವೇಚನೆಯಿಂದ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಯಿತು

ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನ 12 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಡಯಾಸಿಸ್ನ ಬಿಷಪ್ ಅತಿ ವಂದನೀಯ ಡಾ. ಫ್ರಾನ್ಸಿಸ್ ಸೆರಾವ್ ಎಸ್ಜೆ ಅವರು ಫಾದರ್ ಫ್ರಾಂಕ್ಲಿನ್ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜಾ ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಯೂಕರಿಸ್ಟ್ ಅನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಡಯಾಸಿಸ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಡಿಎಸ್ಸಿ ಪುನರ್ನಿರ್ಮಾಣಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಸರ್ವಶಕ್ತ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಧನ್ಯವಾದ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು. ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ “ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕ್ರಿಯೆ; ಚರ್ಚ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡೂ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದೆ” ಎಂದು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು. ಜೈಲು ಸಚಿವಾಲಯದ ಸ್ವಯಂಸೇವಕರು ಪವಿತ್ರ ಯೂಕರಿಸ್ಟ್ಗಾಗಿ ಸಹ ಹಾಜರಿದ್ದರು.
ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮದಿಂದ ವರದಾನ ಪಡೆದ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನಾ ಯೋಧರನ್ನು ಅವರು ಶ್ಲಾಘಿಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಡಯಾಸಿಸ್ ಬಲವಾದ ಮಧ್ಯಸ್ಥಿಕೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನಾ ಗುಂಪುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸುವ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದರು. “ನಾವು ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಮತ್ತು ಅವರ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಂತೆ ಆಳವಾದ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಧ್ಯೇಯ ಮತ್ತು ಆದೇಶವನ್ನು ವೀಕ್ಷಿಸಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ”.
ನಂಬಿಕೆಯ ಹೇಳಿಕೆಯ ನಂತರ, ಬಿಷಪ್ ಹೊಸ ಡಿಎಸ್ಸಿ ನೇಮಕ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ವಚನ ಸಮಾರಂಭವನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿದರು. ನಂತರ ಅವರು ನಾಯಕರ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೈಗಳನ್ನಿಟ್ಟು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿದರು.
ಪವಿತ್ರ ಯೂಕರಿಸ್ಟ್ ಕೊನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಡಯಾಸಿಸ್ನ ನವೀಕರಣ ಚಳವಳಿಯ ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಫಾದರ್ ಫ್ರಾಂಕ್ಲಿನ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ ದೇವರು, ಬಿಷಪ್ ಮತ್ತು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲ ತಂಡ ಮತ್ತು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವವರಿಗೆ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು. ಡಿಎಸ್ಸಿ ಪುನರ್ರಚನೆಯನ್ನು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಳಿಸಲು ತಮ್ಮ ಸೇವೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಅವರು ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಫಾದರ್ ರೋಷನ್ ಪಿಂಟೊ ಮತ್ತು ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಗೆ ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು.
Reconstitution of the Shimoga Diocesan Service of Communion (SDSC) held under the guidance of NSC and KRSC; new leadership team discerned.
Shivamogga, August 17, 2025: With the blessings of Most Rev. Dr Francis Serrao SJ, Bishop of the Diocese of Shimoga, the Shimoga Diocesan Service of Communion (SDSC), was officially reconstituted on August 16 and 17, 2025. The reconstitution was conducted under the guidance of the National Service of Communion (NSC) and the Karnataka Regional Service of Communion (KRSC) and hosted at the Sannidhi; Centre for Pastoral Renewal, Shivamogga.
The reconstitution team included Fr Franklin D’Souza, Spiritual Director of KRSC as well as SDSC; Mr Godfrey Pereira, NSC member; Mr Thomas Chinnappa, KRSC Secretary and resource person; and Ajay, member of KRSC and resource person.
Day 1: Formation and Reflection
The proceedings began on August 16 at 9:00 AM with the Rosary and praise and worship led by the Bro. John Lobo, followed by the formal inauguration at 9:30AM by Rev. Fr Stephen Maxi Albuquerque, Chancellor of the Diocese of Shimoga. In his speech, he applauded the commitment of the DSC team. He also said that in critical times, the intercession has helped our diocese.
At 10am Bro. Ajay took a session on “Called and Chosen,” which was followed by a teaching on “CCR & Leadership in the Church” by Mr Godfrey Pereira until noon.
The afternoon continued with praise and worship led by Bro. Francis D’Mello, and a session by Fr Franklin D’Souza on Servant Leadership, rooted in Acts 8:9-22. This was followed by a session at 5 PM on “Role and Responsibilities of Service Team Members” by Bro. Thomas Chinnappa.
At 7pm, Fr Franklin D’Souza celebrated the Holy Eucharist and preached a homily on “The Oath: A Commitment for Three Years in the Mission of the Lord.”
Bro. Thomas Chinnappa served as the emcee for the day.
Day 2: Discernment and New Leadership
The second day commenced with praise and worship at 7:00 AM led by Bro. Thomas Chinnappa.
At 8:30 am. with the prayer, Nominees then introduced themselves, then Bro. Thomas Chinnappa spoke on “Election Process”, and voting with institutions was carried out till 10am.
Bro. Godfrey Pereira, Bro. Ajay, Bro. Thomas Chinnappa and Fr Franklin D’Souza were in the Discerning Team. Meanwhile participants prayed in front of the Blessed Sacrament.

At 12pm Most Rev. Dr Francis Serrao SJ Bishop of Diocese of Shimoga offered Holy Eucharist together with Fr Franklin D’Souza and thanked Almighty God for the reconstitution of DSC in the Diocese. In his homily he spoke in “faith and action; both are needed in the Church”. Prison ministry volunteers were also present for the Holy Eucharist.
He also appreciated the prayer warriors who are gifted by the Holy Spirit and he said that the Diocese needs to build strong intercessory prayer Groups. “We need to witness the Mission and mandate of Jesus through sincere prayer and with a deep faith like his disciples”.
After the profession of faith, Bishop led the appointment of New DSC as well as Oath taking ceremony. Then he prayed over them by laying his hands on the leaders.
At the end of the Holy Eucharist, Spiritual Director of Renewal Movement of the Diocese of Shimoga Fr Franklin D’Souza thanked God, Bishop as well as all the resource team and the participants. He specially thanked Fr Roshan Pinto, Director of Sannidhi & the Staff of Sannidhi for rendering their services for the successful completion of DSC reconstitution.
