ಮಂಗಳೂರು: ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸೇವೆಯ ಸಣ್ಣ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಯೂ ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಕಾರಾತ್ಮಕ ಬದಲಾವಣೆ ತರಬಲ್ಲನು. ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕನಸುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಾಣುವವರಾಗಿರಿ, ಸವಾಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಧೈರ್ಯದಿಂದ ಎದುರಿಸುವಂತಾಗಿ ಎಂದು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಸಂತ ಜೋಸೆಫರ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ನಿವೃತ್ತ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕ ಪ್ರೊ. ಕ್ಲೆಮೆಂಟ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಪಟ್ಟರು.
ಅವರು “ಹೃದಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರೇರಣೆ – ಬದುಕುಗಳಿಗೆ ಪರಿವರ್ತನೆ” ಎಂಬ ಧ್ಯೇಯದಡಿ ಸಂತ ಅಲೋಶಿಯಸ್ ಗೊನ್ಝಾಗ ಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜರುಗಿದ ಸಂತ ಇಗ್ನೇಷಿಯಸ್ ಲೊಯಲಾ ಅವರ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಆಚರಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ “ಸಂತ ಇಗ್ನೇಷಿಯಸ್ ಇಂದಿನ ಯುಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಗೊನ್ಝಾಗ ಶಾಲೆಗೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದರೆ?” ಎಂಬ ವಿಚಾರವನ್ನು ಉದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.
ಸ್ನೇಹ, ನಗು, ಕಲಿಕೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಕನಸುಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಕಾಣಬಹುದು. ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಯ ಮನೋಭಾವವನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿತ್ವವನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸಿವಂತಾಗಿರಿ. ಈ ಮೂಲಕ ಉತ್ತಮ ಸಮಾಜವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸುವವರಾಗಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಆಶಿಸಿದರು.
ಶಾಲೆಯ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ವಂ ಫಾ. ರೋಹನ್ ಡಿ’ಅಲ್ಮೇಡಾ ಎಸ್. ಜೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ನಂಬಿಕೆ, ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸೇವೆಯ ಇಗ್ನೇಷಿಯನ್ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಅಳವಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿ. ಮ್ಯಾಜಿಸ್ ತತ್ವದಂತೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿತ್ವವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠತೆಯತ್ತ ಸಾಗಬೇಕು . ಸಂತ ಇಗ್ನೇಷಿಯಸ್ ಅವರ ಆದರ್ಶಗಳನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಿ ಶಿಸ್ತುಬದ್ಧ ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರೇರಣಾದಾಯಕ ಜೀವನ ನಡೆಸಿರಿ ಎಂದರು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ವಿಜೇತ ಕನ್ನಡ ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರ ಮಿಥ್ಯ ದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾಲನಟನಾಗಿ ಅಭಿನಯಿಸಿದ ಶಾಲೆಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಅವಿಶ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭ ಅವಿಶ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಅವರ ಪೋಷಕರಾದ ಸತೀಶ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಮತ್ತು ಭಾರತಿ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ , ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರು, ಉಪ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರು, ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಸಂಯೋಜಕರು, ಶಿಕ್ಷಕ ವೃಂದ, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು. ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಮನೋನಿಬಂಧನೆ, ಆತ್ಮಾವಲೋಕನ ಮತ್ತು ವಿವೇಕಪೂರ್ಣ ನಿರ್ಧಾರಗಳ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಬಿಂಬಿಸುವ ನೃತ್ಯ ನಾಟಕವನ್ನು ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿಸಿದರು. ಗಾಯನ ತಂಡದ ಗಾಯನಗಳು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಮೆರುಗನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿತು. ಸಂತ ಇಗ್ನೇಷಿಯಸ್ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾದ ವಿವಿಧ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಗಳ ವಿಜೇತರಿಗೆ ಟ್ರೋಫಿಗಳನ್ನು ವಿತರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
St Aloysius Gonzaga School Celebrates the Feast of St Ignatius of Loyola
St Aloysius Gonzaga School celebrated the Feast of St Ignatius of Loyola, the Founder of the Society of Jesus, with devotion and enthusiasm on 30 July 2026. The celebration, centered on the theme “Inspiring Hearts, Transforming Lives,” was graced by Chief Guest Prof. Clement D’Souza, former Professor, St Joseph’s University, Bengaluru. He inspired the students with a powerful message drawn from the life of St Ignatius. Inviting them to imagine “If Ignatius Walked Into Gonzaga Today,” he urged them to dream big, embrace challenges with courage, practice kindness, remain joyful and grateful, and strive to become the Magis; the better version of themselves. He reminded the students that just as St Ignatius transformed the world over 500 years ago, each one of them has the power to bring about positive change through small acts of love and service. He concluded by encouraging them to “find God in all things,” especially in their friendships, laughter, learning, and dreams.
The celebration commenced with a solemn inter-religious prayer service, creating a prayerful atmosphere that reflected the universal values cherished by St Ignatius. A graceful prayer dance, a welcome address, and a video presentation depicting the inspiring life and mission of St Ignatius set the tone for the day’s celebrations.
The cultural programme showcased the talents of the students through a meaningful dance drama highlighting the importance of mindfulness, reflection, and wise decision-making in the Ignatian spirit. A melodious choir presentation further enriched the celebration.
The winners of the various competitions held in connection with the Feast of St Ignatius of Loyola were presented with trophies. The gathering also applauded Master Avish Shetty for his outstanding achievement in the field of performing arts, bringing pride to the school community. He was recognised for his role as a supporting child actor in the National Award-winning Kannada film ‘Mithya’.
Addressing the gathering, the Principal, Rev. Fr Rohan D’Almeida, SJ, encouraged the students to live by the Ignatian values of faith, excellence, and service. He emphasised the Ignatian spirit of Magis, which calls one to strive for excellence by becoming the better version of oneself. Referring to the achievements of young Avish Shetty and his brother, he encouraged the students to lead inspiring and disciplined lives by following in the footsteps of St Ignatius.
The programme was attended by the Principal, Vice Principals, academic coordinators, staff, students, and the parents of Master Avish Shetty, Mr Satish Shetty and Mrs Bharati. The celebration concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks expressing gratitude to the Chief Guest and everyone who contributed to the success of the event.
The Feast of St Ignatius of Loyola served as a meaningful reminder that his timeless vision continues to inspire generations of young people to lead lives of purpose, compassion, leadership, and selfless service, carrying forward the Jesuit mission of transforming lives and building a better society.
