ಕಾರ್ಕಳ ಅತ್ತೂರು ಬಸಿಲಿಕಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂತ ಲೋರೆನ್ಸರ ಗೌರವಾರ್ಥ ಎರಡನೇ ದಿನದ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ಮಹೋತ್ಸವ ವಿಜ್ರಂಭಣೆಯಿಂದ ಜರುಗಿತು

ಕಾರ್ಕಳಃ ಅತ್ತೂರು ಸಂತ ಲಾರೆನ್ಸ್ ಮೈನರ್ ಬಾಸಿಲಿಕಾದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ಮಹೋತ್ಸವದ ಎರಡನೇ ದಿನದ
8.00 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಸಂಭ್ರಮದ ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ದೈವಾರಾಧನ ವಿಧಿಗಳು ಮಹತ್ವ ಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ನೆರವೇರಿದವು. ಬೆಳಗ್ಗೆ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಯಿತು. ಬೆಳ್ಮಣ್ ಧರ್ಮಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಸಹಾಯಕ ಫಾದರ್ ಓಸ್ವಾಲ್ಡ್ ವಾಜ್ ಬಲಿಪೂಜೆ ನಡೆಯುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಅದ್ದೂರಿಯಾಗಿ ನಡೆಸಿದರು. ದಿನವಾದಂತೆ, ತಾಪಮಾನ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾದರೂ, ಬೆಸಿಲಿಕಾಗೆ ಆಗಮಿಸುವ ಭಕ್ತರ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯು ಹೇರಳವಾಗಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿತು. ಈ ದಿನದ ಮಹೋತ್ಸವದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಆಡಂಭರದ ಬಲಿಪೂಜೆ ಸಂಜೆ 5.00 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆರವೇರಿತು.

ಕಾರವಾರ ಧರ್ಮಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದ ಧರ್ಮಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಪರಮಪೂಜ್ಯ ಡಾ. ಡುಮಿಂಗ್ ಡಯಾಸ್ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಗುರುಗಳಾಗಿ ನೆರವೇರಿಸಿದರು. ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರೇರಣಾದಾಯಕ ಪ್ರವಚನದಲ್ಲಿ “ದಿಲೆಕ್ಸಿತ್ ತೆ – ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ” ಎಂಬ ವಿಷಯದ ಮೇಲೆ ಪ್ರೇರಣಾದಾಯಕ ಬೋದನೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಅವರು ಪೋಪ್ ಲಿಯೋ ಅವರ ಇತ್ತೀಚಿನ ಪ್ರೇಷಿತ ಪತ್ರದ ಉಲ್ಲೇಖಿಸಿ, ಉದಾಹರಿಸಿ, ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತರ ಹಕ್ಕು ಮತ್ತು ಬಡಜನರಿಗೆ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿರುವವರಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡಲು ಕರೆನೀಡಿದರು. ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಮತ್ತು ಉಡುಪಿ ಧರ್ಮಪ್ರಾಂತದ ವಿವಿಧ ಧರ್ಮಕೇಂದ್ರಗಳಿAದ ಬಂದ ಗಾಯನ ಮಂಡಳಿಗಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಭಕ್ತಿಯ ಗಾಯನ ಸಂಗೀತದಿಂದ ಬಲಿಪೂಜೆಯ ಮೆರುಗನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿದರು. ವಂ. ಗುರು ವಿಲ್ಸನ್ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜಾ ಮತ್ತು ವಂ. ಗುರು ಪ್ರದೀಪ್ ಕಾರ್ಡೋಜಾ ಅವರು ದೈವಾರಾಧ ಬಲಿಪೂಜೆಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಿರ್ವಾಹಕರಾಗಿ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು.

ವಿಧಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಈ ದಿನವು ಹಲವಾರು ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಿತ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳಿಂದ ಭೇಟಿ ದೊರಕಿತು, ಅವರುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಎಂಎಲ್‌ಸಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಐವಾನ್ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜಾ, ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ನಾಯಕ ಶ್ರೀ ಉದಯ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ, ಮತ್ತು ನಾರಾಯಣ ಗುರು ನಿಗಮ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ
ಶ್ರೀ ಮಂಜುನಾಥ ಪೂಜಾರಿ, ಶ್ರೀ. ಫಿಲಿಪ್ ಡಿ’ಕೋಸ್ತಾ, ಉದ್ಯಮಿ ಮೊದಲಾದವರು ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿದರು.

Second Day of Festivities at St. Lawrence Minor Basilica, Karkala Attur

The second day of festivities at St. Lawrence Minor Basilica, Karkal Attur, began with the first Holy Mass at 8.00 a.m., celebrated by Rev. Fr. Oswald Vaz, Assistant Parish Priest of Belman. As the day progressed and the heat intensified, the number of devotees visiting the Basilica steadily increased.
The highlight of the day was the solemn Eucharistic celebration at 5.00 p.m. in Kannada, presided over by Most Rev. Dr Duming Dias, Bishop of Karwar. In his inspiring homily, the Bishop reflected on the theme “Dilexit Te – I have loved you,” drawing attention to the recent apostolic exhortation of Pope Leo and emphasizing the Christian call to care for the poor and the needy. Choirs from various parishes of the Mangalore and Udupi Dioceses enhanced the liturgy with their devotional singing. Rev. Frs. Wilson D’Souza and Pradeep Cardoza served as the MCs for the Masses.Several dignitaries visited the Shrine during the day, including MLC Mr Ivan D’Souza, Congress leader Mr Uday Kumar Shetty, Narayana Guru Nigama Chairman Mr Manjunath Poojary and Mr. Philip D’costa, Philanthropist. They
met the Bishop and the priests at the presbytery and extended their greetings and
best wishes on the occasion of the feast. Other Holy Masses during the day were celebrated by Rev. Fr Anil D’Souza, Parish Priest of Pakshikere; Rev. Fr Cyril Lobo of Divya Dhama Seminary, Moodubelle; Rev. Fr John Francis Sequeira, OCD; Rev. Fr Assisi Francis D’Almeida, Secretary, KRCE, Bangalore; Rev.
