ಬಾರ್ಕೂರು, ಜುಲೈ 25, 2025: ಶುಕ್ರವಾರ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ಮಳೆಗಾಲವು ಆಕಾಶವನ್ನು ಬೂದು ಬಣ್ಣದಿಂದ ಮುಚ್ಚಿರಬಹುದು, ಆದರೆ ಬಾರ್ಕೂರಿನ ನ್ಯಾಷನಲ್ ಜೂನಿಯರ್ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಸುಮಾರು 200 ಪಿಯು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಯುವ ಚೈತನ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಉತ್ಸಾಹವು ಉತ್ಸಾಹ ಮತ್ತು ಭರವಸೆಯಿಂದ ಹೊರಹೊಮ್ಮಿತು. ಕಾಲೇಜು ಸಭಾಂಗಣದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಬಹುನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿತ ಓರಿಯಂಟೇಶನ್ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಅವರ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಸ್ಮರಣೀಯ ಮತ್ತು ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣ ಆರಂಭವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿತು.
ಅಜ್ಞಾನದ ಕತ್ತಲೆಯನ್ನು ಹೋಗಲಾಡಿಸುವ ಜ್ಞಾನದ ಬೆಳಕನ್ನು ಸಂಕೇತಿಸುವ ವಿಧ್ಯುಕ್ತ ದೀಪವನ್ನು ಬೆಳಗಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಯಿತು. ನಂತರದ ಭಾವಪೂರ್ಣ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನಾ ಅಧಿವೇಶನವು ದಿನದ ಕಾರ್ಯಕಲಾಪಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಶಾಂತವಾದ ಸ್ವರವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿಸಿತು.
ಎನ್ಜೆಸಿಯ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಉಷಾ ಕಿರಣ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಅವರು ಗಣ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಆತ್ಮೀಯ ಮತ್ತು ಔದಾರ್ಯಯುತ ಸ್ವಾಗತವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದರು:
ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ. ಬಾರ್ಕೂರಿನ ರುಕ್ಮಿಣಿ ಶೆಡ್ತಿ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಪ್ರಥಮ ದರ್ಜೆ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಮತ್ತು ಬಾರ್ಕೂರಿನ ಎಸ್ಆರ್ಎಸ್ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಪ್ರಥಮ ದರ್ಜೆ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾಜ ಕಾರ್ಯ ವಿಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಸೋಸಿಯೇಟ್ ಪ್ರೊಫೆಸರ್ ಆಗಿರುವ ಖ್ಯಾತ ಯುವ ಪ್ರೇರಕಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮಾಜ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಿ ಡಾ. ಶ್ರೀದೇವಿ.
ಬಾರ್ಕೂರು ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಸಂಘದ ಗೌರವಾನ್ವಿತ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಅಶೋಕ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ತಮ್ಮ ಚಿಂತನಶೀಲ ಭಾಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ, ಅವರು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಪಠ್ಯಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳಿಂದ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಗೆಳೆಯರು, ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶಕರು ಮತ್ತು ರೋಮಾಂಚಕ ಕ್ಯಾಂಪಸ್ ಪರಿಸರದಿಂದಲೂ ಕಲಿಯಲು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸಿದರು. ಪಿಯುಸಿ ರಚನೆಯ ವರ್ಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಯಂ ಅನ್ವೇಷಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕುತೂಹಲದ ಮೌಲ್ಯವನ್ನು ಅವರು ಒತ್ತಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಯ ಸಂಕೇತವಾಗಿ, ಅವರು ಪ್ರೊ. ಭಾಸ್ಕರ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಸ್ಮರಣಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಸಹ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಆಡಳಿತ ಸಂಯೋಜಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಆರ್ಚಿಬಾಲ್ಡ್ ಫುರ್ಟಾಡೊ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರೇರಕ ಸಂದೇಶದಿಂದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿದರು. ಜೀವನದ ಈ ಪರಿವರ್ತನಾ ಹಂತದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯವನ್ನು “ಅನ್ವೇಷಿಸಲು, ಅನ್ವೇಷಿಸಲು ಮತ್ತು ಮರು ವ್ಯಾಖ್ಯಾನಿಸಲು” ಅವರು ಅವರನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿದರು. ಅವರು ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೂವಿನ ಸನ್ಮಾನಗಳನ್ನು ಸಹ ಮಾಡಿದರು, ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕವಾಗಿ ಆತ್ಮೀಯತೆಯನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸಿದರು.
ಭೌತಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಕಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಅವರ ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಔಪಚಾರಿಕ ವೇದಿಕೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಮುಕ್ತಾಯವಾಯಿತು. ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಕಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ವಿಜಯಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ ಅವರು ಈ ಅಧಿವೇಶನವನ್ನು ಸುಗಮವಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತು ಮನೋಹರವಾಗಿ ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟರು.
ಸಂವಾದಾತ್ಮಕ ಮತ್ತು ಒಳನೋಟವುಳ್ಳ ಅಧಿವೇಶನ
ಡಾ. ಶ್ರೀದೇವಿ ನೇತೃತ್ವದ ಸಂವಾದಾತ್ಮಕ ಮತ್ತು ಚೈತನ್ಯದಾಯಕ ಅಧಿವೇಶನವು ದಿನದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಅಂಶವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ನಿಜ ಜೀವನದ ಕಥೆಗಳು, ಮಲ್ಟಿಮೀಡಿಯಾ ಪರಿಕರಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಮೋಜಿನ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳ ಆಕರ್ಷಕ ಮಿಶ್ರಣದ ಮೂಲಕ, ಅವರು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಅವರ ಮಾತುಗಳು ಗಡಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮೀರಿ ಕನಸು ಕಾಣಲು ಮತ್ತು ತಮ್ಮ ಗುರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸಾಧಿಸುವತ್ತ ದಿಟ್ಟ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಗಳನ್ನು ಇಡಲು ಅವರನ್ನು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸಿದವು.
ಇದಕ್ಕೂ ಮೊದಲು, ಪ್ರೊ. ಭಾಸ್ಕರ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಅವರು ಪಕ್ಕದ ಪದವಿ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಮತ್ತು ಅದರ ವೈವಿಧ್ಯಮಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡಂತೆ ವಿಶಾಲವಾದ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಕ್ಯಾಂಪಸ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಅವಕಾಶಗಳನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸುವ ಸಂಕ್ಷಿಪ್ತ ಆದರೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯುಕ್ತ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತಿಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನ 12:55 ಕ್ಕೆ ವಿಚಾರ ಸಂಕಿರಣ ಮುಕ್ತಾಯವಾಯಿತು, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಶ್ರೀಮಂತರು, ಸ್ಫೂರ್ತಿ ಪಡೆದವರು ಮತ್ತು ತಮ್ಮ ಮುಂದಿನ ಪ್ರಯಾಣವನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಲು ಉತ್ಸುಕರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಕ ಶ್ರೀ ಉಲ್ಲಿತ್ತಾಯ ಅವರು ಅತಿಥಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕ ಮತ್ತು ಕೃತಜ್ಞತಾಪೂರ್ವಕ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಯನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.

ಈ ಓರಿಯಂಟೇಶನ್ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಕೇವಲ ಆರಂಭವನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ – ಇದು ಒಂದು ಉದ್ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಹುಟ್ಟುಹಾಕಿತು. ನವೀಕೃತ ಆತ್ಮವಿಶ್ವಾಸ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟತೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ, ಎನ್ಜೆಸಿಯ ಪಿಯು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಕಲಿಕೆ, ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿವರ್ತನೆಯ ಪ್ರಯಾಣವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಲು ಸಿದ್ಧರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
Orientation Programme at NJC Barkur Sparks Motivation Among PU Students
Barkur, 25th July 2025: A rainy Friday morning may have cloaked the skies in grey, but the youthful spirit and enthusiasm of nearly 200 PU students at National Junior College, Barkur, radiated with excitement and hope. The much-anticipated Orientation Programme, held in the College Auditorium, marked a memorable and meaningful beginning to their academic journey.
The event began on a traditional note with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the light of knowledge dispelling the darkness of ignorance. The soulful prayer session that followed set a serene tone for the day’s proceedings.
Mrs. Usha Kiran Shetty, Principal of NJC, extended a warm and gracious welcome to the distinguished guests:
Prof. Bhaskar Shetty, the eminent Principal of Smt. Rukmini Shedthi National First Grade College, Barkur, and Dr. Sridevi, a renowned youth motivator and social scientist, currently Associate Professor in the Department of Social Work at SRS National First Grade College, Barkur.
The function was presided over by Mr. Ashok Kumar Shetty, Hon. Secretary of the Barkur Educational Society. In his thought-provoking address, he encouraged students to learn not only from textbooks but also from their peers, mentors, and the vibrant campus environment. He emphasized the value of self-discovery and curiosity during the formative PU years. As a gesture of gratitude, he also presented a memento to Prof. Bhaskar Shetty.
Mr. Archibald Furtado, Admin Coordinator of the National Educational Institutions, inspired students with his motivational message. He urged them to “explore, discover, and redefine” their potential during this transformative phase of life. He also offered floral felicitations to the guests, adding a personal touch of warmth to the event.
The formal stage programme concluded with a sincere vote of thanks by Mrs. Aishwarya Shetty, Lecturer in Physics. The session was seamlessly and gracefully anchored by Mrs. Vijayalakshmi, Lecturer in Commerce.
An Interactive and Insightful Session
The highlight of the day was the interactive and energizing session led by Dr. Sridevi. Through a captivating blend of real-life stories, multimedia tools, and fun-filled activities, she kept students engaged and motivated. Her words encouraged them to dream beyond boundaries and take bold steps toward achieving their goals.
Earlier, Prof. Bhaskar Shetty gave a concise yet informative presentation, outlining the academic avenues and opportunities within the sprawling National campus, including the adjoining degree college and its diverse programs.
The seminar concluded by 12:55 p.m., leaving students enriched, inspired, and eager to embrace their journey ahead. Mr. Ullittaya, Lecturer in Sanskrit, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the guests and resource persons through a warm and appreciative vote of thanks.
As a token of appreciation, Principal Mrs. Usha Kiran Shetty honoured Dr. Sridevi with a memento, acknowledging her invaluable contribution in motivating and guiding the young minds of NJC Barkur.
