ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಪುರದ ಮಿಲಾಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಕೋಶ ಮತ್ತು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಮಂಡಳಿಯು, ಐಕ್ಯೂಎಸಿ ಸಹಯೋಗದೊಂದಿಗೆ, ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 9, 2026 ರಂದು ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಸಿಲ್ವರ್ ಜುಬಿಲಿ ಹಾಲ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂತರರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮಹಿಳಾ ದಿನಾಚರಣೆಯನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಲು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿತು. ಮಹಿಳಾ ಸಬಲೀಕರಣ, ಲಿಂಗ ಸಮಾನತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮಾಜದ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರು ವಹಿಸುವ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಪಾತ್ರವನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ತೋರಿಸುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಹೊಂದಿತ್ತು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನ 3:00 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಆತ್ಮೀಯ ಸ್ವಾಗತ ಗೀತೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಯಿತು. ಅಧ್ಯಾಪಕ ಸದಸ್ಯರು, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಉತ್ಸಾಹದಿಂದ ಆಚರಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದರು, ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ಪೂರ್ತಿದಾಯಕವಾಗಿಸಿದರು. ಮಹಿಳೆಯರ ಸಾಧನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸುವ ಮತ್ತು ಯುವ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಜೀವನದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಹಂತಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಲಿಂಗ ಸಮಾನತೆಯನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸಲು ಮತ್ತು ಬೆಂಬಲಿಸಲು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸುವ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ಸಂಘಟಕರು ಒತ್ತಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು.

ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಅಂತಿಮ ವರ್ಷದ ಬಿಸಿಎ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಭೂಮಿಕಾ ಅವರ ಆತ್ಮೀಯ ಸ್ವಾಗತದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಯಿತು, ಅವರು ಗಣ್ಯರು ಮತ್ತು ಸಭೆಯನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಎರಡನೇ ವರ್ಷದ ಬಿಎ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಸಿಂಚನಾ ಅವರು ಸುಂದರವಾಗಿ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ, ಕನ್ನಡ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥೆ ಡಾ. ಹರಿಣಾಕ್ಷಿ ಎಂ.ಡಿ., ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿ ಡಾ. ಸುರೇಖಾ ಭಟ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಔಪಚಾರಿಕವಾಗಿ ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಿದರು, ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಮತ್ತು ಸೇವೆಗೆ ಅವರ ದೀರ್ಘಕಾಲೀನ ಕೊಡುಗೆಯನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ತೋರಿಸಿದರು.

ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಪುರದ ಮಿಲಾಗ್ರಿಸ್ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹದಿನೈದು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಗೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಾಲದ ಅವರ ಸಮರ್ಪಿತ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿ ಡಾ. ಸುರೇಖಾ ಭಟ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ, ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ ಶ್ರೀ ರವಿನಂದನ್ ಭಟ್, ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಡಾ. ಭಟ್ ಅವರ ಅಮೂಲ್ಯ ಕೊಡುಗೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಬದ್ಧತೆಯನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿ ಮೆಚ್ಚುಗೆಯ ಪತ್ರವನ್ನು ಓದಿದರು.

ಸಭೆಯನ್ನುದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಡಾ. ಸುರೇಖಾ ಭಟ್, ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ, ನಾಯಕತ್ವ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಸೇವೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಸಮಾಜವನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರ ಪಾತ್ರದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು. ತಮ್ಮ ಭಾಷಣದ ಆರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ, ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧ ಕನ್ನಡ ಕವಿ ಜಿ.ಎಸ್. ಶಿವರುದ್ರಪ್ಪ ಅವರ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣವಾದ ಪದ್ಯವನ್ನು ಅವರು ಉಲ್ಲೇಖಿಸಿದರು, ಅದು ಅವರ ಭಾಷಣಕ್ಕೆ ಚಿಂತನಶೀಲ ಧಾಟಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿಸಿತು. ಇಂದಿನ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಕೃತಕ ಬುದ್ಧಿಮತ್ತೆಯಂತಹ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಅಪಾರ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಬಹುದಾದರೂ, ಮಹಿಳೆಯರು ಮತ್ತು ಹಿರಿಯರ ಮೇಲಿನ ಗೌರವದಂತಹ ನಿಜವಾದ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನದಿಂದ ಮಾತ್ರ ಕಲಿಸಲಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಒತ್ತಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಜ್ಞಾನ ಮತ್ತು ಕೌಶಲ್ಯಗಳ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಬಲವಾದ ನೈತಿಕ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಅವರು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸಿದರು.

ಮಹಿಳೆಯರು ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಗೌರವ ಮತ್ತು ಮನ್ನಣೆಗೆ ಅರ್ಹರು ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಲು ಡಾ. ಭಟ್ ಹಲವಾರು ಸಂಬಂಧಿತ ಕಥೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ನಿಜ ಜೀವನದ ಉದಾಹರಣೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಅವರು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು, ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಯುವತಿಯರನ್ನು, ಆತ್ಮವಿಶ್ವಾಸ ಮತ್ತು ದೃಢನಿಶ್ಚಯದಿಂದ ತಮ್ಮ ಕನಸುಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರಿಸಲು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿದರು. ಅವರ ಸ್ಪೂರ್ತಿದಾಯಕ ಮಾತುಗಳು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಇಡಲು ಮತ್ತು ಮಹಿಳೆಯರನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸುವ ಮತ್ತು ಸಬಲೀಕರಣಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಬಲವಾದ ಮತ್ತು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಅಂತರ್ಗತ ಸಮಾಜವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸುವತ್ತ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಲು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸಿದವು.

ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಾದ ಎರಡನೇ ವರ್ಷದ ಬಿ.ಕಾಂ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಆಸ್ತಿಕ್ ಮತ್ತು ಅಂತಿಮ ವರ್ಷದ ಬಿಸಿಎ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಲಿನೋಲ್ ಅವರು ಅಂತರರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮಹಿಳಾ ದಿನದ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಕುರಿತು ತಮ್ಮ ಸಂದೇಶಗಳನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಅವರು ಮಹಿಳೆಯರನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸುವ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾನತೆಯನ್ನು ಉತ್ತೇಜಿಸುವ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ತೋರಿಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಕುಟುಂಬ, ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರ ಕೊಡುಗೆಗಳನ್ನು ಶ್ಲಾಘಿಸಿದರು.

ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ಡಾ. ವಿನ್ಸೆಂಟ್ ಆಳ್ವ ಅವರು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೀಯ ಭಾಷಣಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದರು. ತಮ್ಮ ಭಾಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ, ಇಂತಹ ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ್ದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಕೋಶ ಮತ್ತು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಮಂಡಳಿಯ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರು ಶ್ಲಾಘಿಸಿದರು. ಜೀವನದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಅಂಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸುವ ಮತ್ತು ಸಬಲೀಕರಣಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ಅವರು ಒತ್ತಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಸಮಾನತೆ, ಘನತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿಹಿಡಿಯಲು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸಿದರು.

ಮಹಿಳಾ ಕೋಶದ ಸಂಚಾಲಕಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ರೇಖಾ ಯು ಅವರ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನದಲ್ಲಿ, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಮಂಡಳಿಯ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಸುಷ್ಮಾ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಅವರ ಬೆಂಬಲದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ, ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಸೋಫಿಯಾ ಡಯಾಸ್, ಉಪ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರು, ಐಕ್ಯೂಎಸಿ ಸಂಯೋಜಕಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಶೈಲೆಟ್ ಮಥಿಯಾಸ್, ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಸುಷ್ಮಾ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಮತ್ತು ಮಹಿಳಾ ಕೋಶದ ಸಂಚಾಲಕಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ರೇಖಾ ಯು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು ಮತ್ತು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಗೊಳಿಸಲು ತಮ್ಮ ಬೆಂಬಲವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದರು.

ಅಂತಿಮ ವರ್ಷದ ಬಿಎ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ನಿಲೋಫರ್ ಅವರು ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸುವುದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಮುಕ್ತಾಯಗೊಂಡಿತು, ಅವರು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಗೊಳಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ಬೆಂಬಲ ಮತ್ತು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವಿಕೆಗಾಗಿ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿ, ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರು, ಅಧ್ಯಾಪಕರು, ಸಂಘಟಕರು ಮತ್ತು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಯನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು. ಈ ಆಚರಣೆಯು ಮಹಿಳಾ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಮೂಡಿಸಿತು ಮತ್ತು ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಿಗೆ ಮೌಲ್ಯಯುತ, ಗೌರವಾನ್ವಿತ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮಾನ ಅವಕಾಶಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡುವ ಸಮಾಜವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸುವತ್ತ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಲು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿತು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಅಗಾಧ ಯಶಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಕಂಡಿತು ಮತ್ತು ಹಾಜರಿದ್ದ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರ ಮೇಲೆ ಶಾಶ್ವತವಾದ ಪ್ರಭಾವ ಬೀರಿತು.

Kalyanpur Milagres College – International Women’s Day Celebration

The Women Cell and Student’s Welfare Council of Milagres College, Kallianpur, in association with IQAC, successfully organized a programme to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 9, 2026, at the Silver Jubilee Hall of the college. The event aimed to highlight the importance of women’s empowerment, gender equality, and the significant role women play in the development of society. The programme began at 3:00 PM with a warm welcome song. Faculty members, students, and staff enthusiastically participated in the celebration, making the event meaningful and inspiring. The organisers emphasized the importance of recognizing women’s achievements and encouraging young students to respect and support gender equality in all walks of life.

The programme began with a warm welcome by Ms. Bhoomika, Final Year BCA student, who welcomed the dignitaries and the gathering. The event was gracefully compered by Ms. Sinchana, Second Year BA. During the programme, Dr. Harinakshi M.D., Head of the Kannada Department, formally introduced the Chief Guest, Dr. Surekha Bhat, highlighting her long-standing contribution to education and service at the institution.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Surekha Bhat, was felicitated during the programme in recognition of her dedicated service of more than fifteen years at Milagres College, Kallianpur. On this occasion, Mr. Ravinandan Bhat, PRO of the college, read out the letter of appreciation acknowledging Dr. Bhat’s valuable contributions and commitment to academic and social development in the institution.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Surekha Bhat spoke about the role of women in shaping society through education, leadership, and social service. At the beginning of her speech, she quoted a meaningful verse by the renowned Kannada poet G. S. Shivarudrappa about women, which set a thoughtful tone for her address. She emphasized that although students today can access vast information instantly through technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, true values such as respect for women and elders cannot be taught by technology alone. She encouraged students to develop strong moral values alongside knowledge and skills.

Dr. Bhat further shared several relevant stories and real-life examples to explain why women deserve greater respect and recognition in society. She motivated the students, especially young women, to pursue their dreams with confidence and determination. Her inspiring words encouraged the students to believe in their potential and work towards building a stronger and more inclusive society where women are respected and empowered.

During the programme, students Mr. Asthik, a Second Year B.Com student, and Mr. Lynol, a Final Year BCA student, shared their messages on the significance of International Women’s Day. They highlighted the importance of respecting women and promoting equality in society, and appreciated the contributions of women in family, education, and social development.

Dr. Vincent Alva, the Principal of the college, delivered the presidential remarks during the programme. In his address, he appreciated the efforts of the Women Cell and Student’s Welfare Council for organizing such a meaningful event. He emphasized the importance of respecting and empowering women in all aspects of life and encouraged students to uphold values of equality, dignity, and social responsibility.

The programme was organised under the guidance of Mrs. Rekha U, Women Cell Convenor, with the support of Mrs. Sushma Shetty from the Student’s Welfare Council. During the programme, Mrs. Sophia Dias, Vice Principal, IQAC Coordinator Mrs. Shylet Mathias, Mrs. Sushma Shetty, and Women Cell Convenor Mrs. Rekha U were present and extended their support to make the event successful.

The event concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Nilofar, Final Year BA, who expressed her gratitude to the Chief Guest, Principal, faculty members, organisers, and students for their support and participation in making the programme successful. The celebration created awareness about women’s rights and inspired students to work towards building a society where women are valued, respected, and given equal opportunities. The programme was a grand success and left a lasting impact on everyone who attended.
