ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಪುರ; ಮೇರಿ ಮಾತೆಯ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಅಜ್ಜ-ಅಜ್ಜಿಯರಾದ ಸಂತ ಜೋಕಿಮ್ ಮತ್ತು ಅನ್ನಿ ಅವರ ಹಬ್ಬವನ್ನು ಅಜ್ಜ-ಅಜ್ಜಿಯರ ದಿನ ಮತ್ತು ಹಿರಿಯ ನಾಗರಿಕರ ದಿನವಾಗಿ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಪುರದ ಸಂತೆಕಟ್ಟೆಯ ಮೌಂಟ್ ರೋಸರಿ ಚರ್ಚ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಜುಲೈ 26, 2026 ರ ಭಾನುವಾರ ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಈ ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣ ಆಚರಣೆಯನ್ನು ಹಿರಿಯ ನಾಗರಿಕರ ಕ್ಲಬ್, ಕುಟುಂಬ ಆಯೋಗ ಮತ್ತು ಕ್ಯಾಥೋಲಿಕ್ ಸ್ತ್ರೀ ಸಂಘಟನ್ ಜಂಟಿಯಾಗಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ್ದು, 250 ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಅಜ್ಜ-ಅಜ್ಜಿಯರು, ಹಿರಿಯ ನಾಗರಿಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಕುಟುಂಬ ಸದಸ್ಯರನ್ನು ನಂಬಿಕೆ, ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಹಭಾಗಿತ್ವದ ವಾತಾವರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಟ್ಟುಗೂಡಿಸಿತು.
ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಬಲಿದಾನದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಆಚರಣೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಯಿತು, ಇದನ್ನು ಸಹಾಯಕ ಧರ್ಮಗುರು ವಂ। ರೋಹನ್ ಮಸ್ಕರೇನ್ಹಸ್ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಆಚರಣೆಯ ಭಾಗವಾಗಿ ಆಚರಿಸಿದರು. ವಿಕಾರ್ ರೆವರೆಂಡ್ ಡಾ. ರೋಕ್ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜಾ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ಪೂರ್ತಿದಾಯಕ ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ, ಸಂತರು ಜೋಕಿಮ್ ಮತ್ತು ಅನ್ನಿ ಅವರ ಅನುಕರಣೀಯ ಜೀವನವನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಬಿಂಬಿಸಿದರು, ಅಜ್ಜ-ಅಜ್ಜಿಯರು ಪ್ರತಿ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಜೀವಂತ ಬೇರುಗಳು, ಅವರ ನಂಬಿಕೆ, ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳು, ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಬೇಷರತ್ತಾದ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯನ್ನು ಸಂರಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ನಿಷ್ಠಾವಂತರಿಗೆ ನೆನಪಿಸಿದರು. ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಹಿರಿಯರನ್ನು ಪಾಲಿಸಬೇಕು, ಗೌರವಿಸಬೇಕು ಮತ್ತು ಕಾಳಜಿ ವಹಿಸಬೇಕು, ಅವರನ್ನು ಅಮೂಲ್ಯವಾದ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದ ಮತ್ತು ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ ಪೀಳಿಗೆಗೆ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶಕ ಬೆಳಕಾಗಿ ಗುರುತಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿದರು.
ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ಮಳೆ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಪರಿಹಾರವನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಂತೆ, ಪವಿತ್ರ ಬಲಿದಾನದ ನಂತರ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಅಜ್ಜ-ಅಜ್ಜಿ ಮತ್ತು ಹಿರಿಯ ನಾಗರಿಕರು ಮಿಲೇನಿಯಮ್ ಆಡಿಟೋರಿಯಂಗೆ ತೆರಳುವ ಮೊದಲು ಪೋರ್ಟಿಕೊದ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಛಾಯಾಚಿತ್ರಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಒಟ್ಟುಗೂಡಿದರು, ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 11.20 ಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಕ್ಷಿಪ್ತ ಆದರೆ ಪ್ರಭಾವಶಾಲಿ ವೇದಿಕೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಯಿತು.
ಮೌಂಟ್ ರೋಸರಿ ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ಪ್ರೌಢಶಾಲೆಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದವನ್ನು ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸುವ ನೃತ್ಯದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನಾಪೂರ್ವಕ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಯಿತು. ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷ್ನ ಕುಟುಂಬ ಆಯೋಗದ ಸಂಚಾಲಕಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ವೈಲೆಟ್ ಫೆರ್ನಾಂಡಿಸ್, ಹಿರಿಯರು ಮತ್ತು ಅತಿಥಿಗಳ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸಭೆಗೆ ಆತ್ಮೀಯ ಮತ್ತು ಸೌಹಾರ್ದಯುತ ಸ್ವಾಗತವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದರು.
ವೇದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಗಣ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ರೆವರೆಂಡ್ ಡಾ. ರೋಕ್ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜಾ, ರೆವರೆಂಡ್ ಫಾದರ್ ರೋಹನ್ ಮಸ್ಕರೇನ್ಹಸ್, ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಶ್ರೀ ಬ್ಯಾಪ್ಟಿಸ್ಟ್ ಡಯಾಸ್, ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಪ್ರಿಯಾ ಫುರ್ಟಾಡೊ, 20 ಪ್ಯಾಸ್ಟೋರಲ್ ಆಯೋಗಗಳ ಸಂಚಾಲಕಿ ಶ್ರೀ ವಲೇರಿಯನ್ ಫೆರ್ನಾಂಡಿಸ್, ಎಸ್ಆರ್ಎ ಕಾನ್ವೆಂಟ್ನ ಸುಪೀರಿಯರ್ ಸೀನಿಯರ್ ಸಂಗೀತಾ, ಪ್ರೌಢಶಾಲೆಯ ಮುಖ್ಯೋಪಾಧ್ಯಾಯಿನಿ ಸಿಸ್ಟರ್ ಅನ್ಸಿಲ್ಲಾ ರೋಶ್ನಿ ಡಿ’ಮೆಲ್ಲೊ, ಅಜ್ಜ ಮತ್ತು ಅಜ್ಜಿಯರನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಸುವ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಟೈಟಸ್ ಡಾಲಿ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜಾ, ಹಿರಿಯ ನಾಗರಿಕರ ಕ್ಲಬ್ನ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೆ ಶ್ರೀ ವಿನ್ಸೆಂಟ್ ಮೆನೆಜೆಸ್, ಕುಟುಂಬ ಆಯೋಗದ ಸಂಚಾಲಕಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ವೈಲೆಟ್ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜಾ ಮತ್ತು ಕ್ಯಾಥೋಲಿಕ್ ಸ್ತ್ರೀ ಸಂಘಟನದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೆ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ನೊರೀನ್ ಲೂಯಿಸ್ ಸೇರಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಪ್ರಿಯಾ ಫುರ್ಟಾಡೊ ಕಿರು ವೇದಿಕೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಸುಂದರವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
ತಮ್ಮ ಅಭಿನಂದನಾ ಭಾಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ ರೆವರೆಂಡ್ ಫಾದರ್ ರೋಹನ್ ಮಸ್ಕರೇನ್ಹಸ್ ಅವರು ಪೋಪ್ ಅವರ ಸಂದೇಶದ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಳನೋಟವುಳ್ಳ ಸಂದೇಶವನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಸಭೆಯು ಕ್ರಿಶ್ಚಿಯನ್ ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳನ್ನು ಒಗ್ಗಟ್ಟಿನಿಂದ ಪೋಷಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷ್ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಶ್ರೀಮಂತ ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂರಕ್ಷಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಅಜ್ಜ-ಅಜ್ಜಿಯರು ಮತ್ತು ಹಿರಿಯ ನಾಗರಿಕರು ವಹಿಸಿದ ಅಮೂಲ್ಯ ಪಾತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕ ಮೆಚ್ಚುಗೆಯ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಂಡಿತು.
ಆಚರಣೆಯನ್ನು ಸ್ಮರಣೀಯವಾಗಿಸಲು ಕೊಡುಗೆ ನೀಡಿದ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಆಯೋಜಕರು ಸ್ಮರಣಿಕೆಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಗಳನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
ವಿಶೇಷ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಟೈಟಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಡಾಲಿ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ ಅವರು ಕೆಲವು ಹಳೆಯ ನೆನಪುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡರು, ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬರು ಹಳೆಯ ಚರ್ಚ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹಳ ಹಿಂದೆಯೇ ದಾಂಪತ್ಯ ಜೀವನದ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ ಮಹೋತ್ಸವ ಆಚರಣೆಗೆ ಕೊಡುಗೆಯಾಗಿ ದಾನ ಮಾಡಿದನ್ನು ಕೆಲವರು ಗಮನ ಸೆಳೆದರು ಮತ್ತು ಹೊಸ ಚರ್ಚ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಳಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ.
ತಮ್ಮ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೀಯ ಭಾಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ ರೆವರೆಂಡ್ ಡಾ. ರೋಕ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ ಅವರು ಸಂತೋಷ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಈ ಆಚರಣೆಯನ್ನು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಗೊಳಿಸಿದ ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಸ್ಮರಿಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು..!!
ಹಿರಿಯ ನಾಗರಿಕರ ಕ್ಲಬ್ನ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ವಿನ್ಸೆಂಟ್ ಮೆನೆಜಸ್, ಪಾದ್ರಿಗಳು, ಪ್ರಾಯೋಜಕರು, ಸ್ವಯಂಸೇವಕರು, ಗಾಯಕರ ಸದಸ್ಯರು, ಸಂಘಟಕರು ಮತ್ತು ತೆರೆಮರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿದ ಎಲ್ಲರ ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕ ಬೆಂಬಲವನ್ನು ಶ್ಲಾಘಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು. ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಮೂರು ಜೋರಾಗಿ ಚಿಯರ್ಸ್ ಜೊತೆ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು
ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನ 12.30 ರಿಂದ ಆಚರಣೆಯು ಕ್ಯಾಥೋಲಿಕ್ ಸ್ತ್ರೀ ಸಂಘಟನ್ ಸದಸ್ಯರು ಮತ್ತು ಹಿರಿಯ ನಾಗರಿಕರು ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಮೋನಿಕಾ ಕಾರ್ನೆಲಿಯೊ ಅವರಿಂದ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತಪಡಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಮನರಂಜನಾ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮುಂದುವರೆಯಿತು – ಅವರ ಉತ್ಸಾಹಭರಿತ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನಗಳು – ನೃತ್ಯ, ಸ್ಕಿಟ್ಗಳು, ಹಾಡುಗಳು ಹಿರಿಯರಿಗೆ ನಗು ಮತ್ತು ಸಂತೋಷವನ್ನು ತಂದವು, ಇದು ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನ 2.00 ಗಂಟೆಯವರೆಗೆ ಮುಂದುವರೆಯಿತು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಸಹಭೋಜನದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮುಕ್ತಾಯವಾಯಿತು, ನಂತರ ಸ್ಪಾಟ್ ಆಟಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಮನರಂಜನಾ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳು ನಡೆದವು, ಹಿರಿಯ ನಾಗರಿಕರು ನಗು, ಸ್ನೇಹ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂತೋಷದ ನೆನಪುಗಳಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿದ ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನವನ್ನು ಆನಂದಿಸಲು ಅವಕಾಶ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಟ್ಟವು.
ಉತ್ತಮವಾಗಿ ಸಂಘಟಿತವಾದ ಆಚರಣೆಯು ಧರ್ಮಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಅಜ್ಜ-ಅಜ್ಜಿ ಮತ್ತು ಹಿರಿಯ ನಾಗರಿಕರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಆಳವಾದ ಗೌರವ, ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಯನ್ನು ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ ಪ್ರತಿಬಿಂಬಿಸಿತು, ಸಂತರು ಜೋಕಿಮ್ ಮತ್ತು ಅನ್ನಿ ಅವರ ಹಬ್ಬವನ್ನು ಹಾಜರಿದ್ದ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಸ್ಮರಣೀಯ ಸಂದರ್ಭವನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿತು.
Grandparents’ & Senior Citizens’ Day Celebrated with Love and Gratitude at Mount Rosary Church Santhekatte, Kallianpur.
Kallianpur;The Feast of Saints Joachim and Anne, the beloved grandparents of Mother Mary, was joyfully celebrated as Grandparents’ Day and Senior Citizens’ Day at Mount Rosary Church, Santhekatte, Kallianpur, on Sunday, 26th July 2026.
The meaningful celebration was jointly organised by the Senior Citizens’ Club, Family Commission, and Catholic Stree Sanghatan, bringing together more than 250 grandparents, senior citizens and family members in an atmosphere of faith, gratitude and fellowship.
The celebration commenced with the 10.00 a.m. Holy Eucharist, concelebrated by Rev Fr Rohan Mascarenhas the assistant parish priest as the main celebrant. Vicar Rev. Dr. Roque D’Souza, in his inspiring homily, reflected on the exemplary lives of Saints Joachim and Anne, reminding the faithful that grandparents are the living roots of every family, entrusted with preserving faith, values, traditions and unconditional love. He urged families to cherish, respect and care for their elders, recognising them as a priceless blessing and a guiding light for future generations.
As the rain gave a big relief in the morning, following the Holy Mass, all the grandparents and senior citizens assembled for photographs around the portico before proceeding to the Millennium Auditorium, where a brief yet impressive stage programme commenced at 11.20 a.m.
The programme began with a prayerful hymn with dance invoking God’s blessings, beautifully led by the students of Mount Rosary English Medium High School. Ms Violet Fernandes the Convenor of the Family Commission of the parish, extended a warm and cordial welcome to the large gathering of elders and guests.
The dignitaries on the dais included Rev. Dr. Roque D’Souza, Rev. Fr. Rohan Mascarenhas, Mr. Baptist Dias, Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council, Mrs. Priya Furtado, Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council, Mr. Valerian Fernandes, Convenor of the 20 Pastoral Commissions, Superior of the SRA Convent Sr Sangeetha, Head Mistress of the High School Sr Ancilla Roshni DMello, Mr and Mrs Titus Dolly DSouza representing grand parents and one of
the generous sponsors, Mr. Vincent Menezes, President of the Senior Citizens’ Club, Mrs. Violet D’Souza, Convenor of the Family Commission, and Mrs. Noreen Lewis, President of the Catholic Stree Sanghatan.
Ms Priya Furtado beautifully presented the short stage program.
In his congratulatory address Rev Fr Rohan Mascarenhas shared an insightful message in the light of Pope’s message, as the gathering witnessed heartfelt words of appreciation for the invaluable role played by grandparents and senior citizens in nurturing Christian families keeping the united and preserving the rich traditions of the parish community.
The organisers also expressed gratitude to all those who contributed towards making the celebration memorable, with Mementos.
Special Guests Mr Titus & Dolly DSouza as the latter shared a few nostalgic memories, of them one caught the attention of a few as the reading stand donated long back in the Old church as their contribution on Silver Jubilee celebration of married life still there and utilised in the New Church… !
In his presidential address Rev Dr Roque D’Souza expressed happiness and remembered and thanked all who made this celebration a great success..!!
Mr Vincent Menezes, President of the Senior citizens Club, profusely proposed the vote of thanks, acknowledging the wholehearted support of the clergy, sponsors, volunteers, choir members, organisers and all those who worked behind the scenes, with three loud Cheers to all participants.
From 12.30 pm onwards the celebration continued with an entertaining cultural programme presented primarily by the members of the Catholic Stree Sanghatan, and Senior citizens compeered by Ms Monica Carnelio – whose lively performances – dance, skits, songs brought smiles and joy to the elders, which continued till 2.00 pm.
The programme concluded with a fellowship lunch, followed by spot games and recreational activities, allowing the senior citizens to enjoy an afternoon filled with laughter, friendship and happy memories.
The well-organised celebration truly reflected the parish’s deep respect, love and gratitude towards its grandparents and senior citizens, making the Feast of Saints Joachim and Anne a memorable occasion for everyone present.
