ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಪುರ; ಮಿಲಾಗ್ರಿಸ್ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಪುರದ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ಅಥ್ಲೆಟಿಕ್ ಕೂಟವು ನವೆಂಬರ್ 28, 2025 ರಂದು ಕಾಲೇಜು ಮೈದಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯಿತು. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಭಾವಪೂರ್ಣ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನಾ ಗೀತೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಯಿತು, ನಂತರ ಉತ್ಸಾಹಭರಿತ ಮೆರವಣಿಗೆ ನಡೆಯಿತು.
ಗೌರವಾನ್ವಿತ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿ, 1989 ರ ಬಿ.ಕಾಂ ಬ್ಯಾಚ್ನ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯ ಹಳೆಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಶಶಿಧರ್ ಸಾಲಿಯನ್ ಅವರು ಧ್ವಜಾರೋಹಣ ಮಾಡಿ ಕ್ರೀಡಾಕೂಟವನ್ನು ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿದರು, ಇದು ಕ್ರೀಡೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸೌಹಾರ್ದತೆಯ ರೋಮಾಂಚಕಾರಿ ದಿನಕ್ಕೆ ನಾಂದಿ ಹಾಡಿತು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು, ಮಿಲಾಗ್ರಿಸ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ವರದಿಗಾರರಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ರೆವರೆಂಡ್ ಫಾದರ್ ಫರ್ಡಿನ್ಯಾಂಡ್ ಗೊನ್ಸಾಲ್ವೆಸ್ ಅವರು ಮಿಲಾಗ್ರಿಸ್ ಜ್ಯೋತಿಯನ್ನು ಧಾರಕರಿಗೆ ಹಸ್ತಾಂತರಿಸಿದರು, 2025-2026 ರ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ಅಥ್ಲೆಟಿಕ್ ಕೂಟವನ್ನು ಅಧಿಕೃತವಾಗಿ ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿದರು.
ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ಡಾ. ವಿನ್ಸೆಂಟ್ ಆಳ್ವಾ ಅವರು ಗಣ್ಯರು ಮತ್ತು ಸಭೆಗೆ ಆತ್ಮೀಯ ಸ್ವಾಗತವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದರು, ಇದು ಸ್ಮರಣೀಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ವೇದಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಸಜ್ಜುಗೊಳಿಸಿತು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಂದಿ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಸೋಫಿಯಾ ಡಯಾಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀ ಕ್ಸೇವಿಯರ್ ಫರ್ನಾಂಡಿಸ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ 37 ಮತ್ತು 40 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಸೇವೆಗಾಗಿ ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಶಶಿಧರ್ ಸಾಲಿಯನ್, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕ್ರೀಡೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಲು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿದರು, ಒಬ್ಬರ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿತ್ವವನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮಗ್ರ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರೀಡೆಯ ಹಲವಾರು ಪ್ರಯೋಜನಗಳನ್ನು ಉಲ್ಲೇಖಿಸಿದರು. ಕ್ರೀಡೆಯ ಮೇಲಿನ ಉತ್ಸಾಹ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಅವರ ಒಟ್ಟಾರೆ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಪೋಷಿಸಿದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಆಲ್ಮಾ ಮಾತೃಗೆ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಗಳನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು. ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಪುರದ ಮಿಲಾಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರೀಡೆ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಅವರ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿತ್ವದ ಒಟ್ಟಾರೆ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಗೆ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಆಲ್ಮಾ ಮಾತೃ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗೆ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಫಾದರ್ ಫರ್ಡಿನ್ಯಾಂಡ್ ಗೊನ್ಸಾಲ್ವೆಸ್, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರೀಡೆಯ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಆತ್ಮವಿಶ್ವಾಸ, ದೈಹಿಕ ಸದೃಢತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಶಿಸ್ತನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸಲು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಲು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸಿದರು. ಕಾಲೇಜು ಮೈದಾನವು ಹಲವಾರು ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ನೆನಪಿಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅದರ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸುವಂತೆ ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿದರು. ಕ್ರೀಡೆಗಳು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಏಕಾಗ್ರತೆಯನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಲು ಮತ್ತು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಸ್ತಿನ ಅಭ್ಯಾಸವನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸಲು ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಎತ್ತಿ ತೋರಿಸಿದರು. ಪದಕಗಳನ್ನು ಗೆಲ್ಲುವುದು ಮುಖ್ಯವಲ್ಲ ಆದರೆ ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಈ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವಿಕೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಅಭಿಮಾನವನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಹೇಳಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಕ್ತಾಯಗೊಳಿಸಿದರು.
ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಸೋಫಿಯಾ ಡಯಾಸ್, ಗೌರವಾನ್ವಿತ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಅಟೆಂಡರ್ ಆಗಿರುವ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಕ್ಸೇವಿಯರ್ ಫೆರ್ನಾಂಡಿಸ್, ಐಕ್ಯೂಎಸಿ ಸಂಯೋಜಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಶೈಲೆಟ್ ಮಥಾಯಿಸ್, ಅಂತಿಮ ವರ್ಷದ ಬಿ.ಕಾಂ. ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಸಾಥ್ವಿಕ್ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಅಂತಿಮ ವರ್ಷದ ಬಿಎ ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಬೂಮಿಕಾ ಮೇಸ್ತಾ ಅವರ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಮುಕ್ತಾಯಗೊಂಡಿತು, ಇದು ಸ್ಮರಣೀಯ ದಿನಕ್ಕೆ ಸೂಕ್ತವಾದ ಅಂತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸಿತು.

Milagres College Kallianpur’s annual athletic meet was a grand success, held on November 28, 2025, at the college ground. The event kicked off with a soulful prayer song by the students, followed by a spirited march past.
The esteemed chief guest, Mr. Shashidhar Salian, a proud alumnus of the 1989 B.Com batch, hoisted the flag and declared the sports meet open, setting the tone for an exciting day of sports and camaraderie. The president of the program, Msgr. Rev. Fr. Ferdinand Gonsalves, Correspondent of Milagres Institution, handed over the Milagres torch to the torchbearers, officially inaugurating the annual athletic meet 2025-2026.
Dr. Vincent Alva, Principal of the college, extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries and gathering, setting the stage for a memorable event. The program also honored Mrs. Sophia Dias of the Department of Hindi and Mr. Xaviar Fernandes, who were felicitated for their outstanding service of 37 and 40 years, respectively.
The chief guest, Mr. Shashidhar Salian, inspired students to participate in sports, citing the numerous benefits of sports in shaping one’s personality and fostering holistic development. He expressed gratitude to his alma mater for nurturing his overall growth, including his passion for sports. He thanked his Alma meter and institution for his overall development of his personality including in sports in Milagres College Kallianpur.
The president of the program, Fr. Ferdinand Gonsalves, emphasized the importance of sports in student life, encouraging students to participate in all events to build self-confidence, physical fitness, and discipline. He reminded students that the college ground has witnessed numerous sports records and urged them to respect the institution and its facilities. He highlighted that sports can help students increase concentration and develop the habit of discipline in student life. He closed his remark by saying winning medals is not important but one day this participation will plant your goodwill.
The event was attended by Mrs. Sophia Dias, Vice Principal, Mr. Xaviar Fernandes, Attender as the guest of honour, Mrs. Shylet Mathais, IQAC Coordinator, Mr. Sathwik, sports secretary, Final year B.Com. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Boomika Mesta, Sports Secretary, Final year BA, marking a fitting end to a memorable day.
