ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಪುರ;ಜೂನ್ 7, 2026 ರ ಭಾನುವಾರ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 9:30 ಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂತೇಕಟ್ಟೆ-ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಪುರದ ಮೌಂಟ್ ರೋಸರಿ ಚರ್ಚ್ನ ಪರಿಸರ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಆಯೋಗದಿಂದ ಹೋಲಿ ಫ್ಯಾಮಿಲಿ ವಾರ್ಡ್ನ ಶ್ರೀ ರೊನಾಲ್ಡ್ ಮತ್ತು ರೀನಾ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜಾ ಅವರ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಪರಿಸರ ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.
ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ವಿವಿಧ ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷ್ ಸಂಘಗಳಾದ ಪರಿಸರ ಆಯೋಗ, ಕ್ಯಾಥೋಲಿಕ್ ಸಭಾ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ತ್ರೀ ಸಂಘಟನೆಯನ್ನು ಒಟ್ಟುಗೂಡಿಸಿ, ನಮ್ಮ ಪರಿಸರವನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಏಕತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಮೂಹಿಕ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ತೋರಿಸಿತು.
ಸಂಘಟಕರ ಪರವಾಗಿ, ಮೌಂಟ್ ರೋಸರಿ ಚರ್ಚಿನ 20 ಆಯೋಗಗಳ ಸಂಯೋಜಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ವಲೇರಿಯನ್ ಫೆರ್ನಾಂಡಿಸ್ ಅವರು ಸಭೆಯನ್ನು ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಉದ್ದೇಶವನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು, ಪರಿಸರ ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸುಸ್ಥಿರ ಜೀವನದ ಅಗತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಗುರ್ಕರ್ ಶ್ರೀ ವಿನ್ಸೆಂಟ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾ, ವಾರ್ಡ್ ಸದಸ್ಯರು, ಪರಿಸರ ಆಯೋಗದ ಸಂಚಾಲಕ ಶ್ರೀ ಜೆಫ್ರಿ ಫರ್ಟಾಡೊ, ಸ್ತ್ರೀ ಸಂಘಟನೆಯ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ನೊರೀನ್ ಲೂಯಿಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಸದಸ್ಯರು, ಕ್ಯಾಥೊಲಿಕ್ ಸಭಾದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಶ್ರೀ ಆರ್ಚಿಬಾಲ್ಡ್ ಫರ್ಟಾಡೊ ಮತ್ತು ಸದಸ್ಯರು ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು. ಉಡುಪಿ ಡಯೋಸಿಸನ್ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಆಯೋಗದ ಸಂಚಾಲಕಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಹಿಲ್ಡಾ ಕರ್ನೆಲಿಯೊ, ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಪುರ ವಲಯದ ಕ್ಯಾಥೊಲಿಕ್ ಸಭಾದ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಶ್ರೀ ಎಲಿಯಾಸ್ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜಾ ಮತ್ತು ಕ್ಯಾಥೊಲಿಕ್ ಸಭಾ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಪುರ ವಲಯದ ಮಾಜಿ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೆ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ರೋಸಿ ಕ್ವಾಡ್ರೋಸ್ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು ಮತ್ತು ಈ ಉದಾತ್ತ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಒಗ್ಗಟ್ಟನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಭಾಗವಾಗಿ, ಸಾಂಕೇತಿಕವಾಗಿ ಜಮೀನಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಸಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೆಡಲಾಯಿತು, ಇದು ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಯನ್ನು ಪೋಷಿಸುವ ಮತ್ತು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ಹಂಚಿಕೆಯ ಬದ್ಧತೆಯನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸಿತು.
ಸಸಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೆಡುವುದು ಸಾಂಕೇತಿಕವಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ, ನಿಜವಾದ ಪರಿಸರ ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ನಮ್ಮ ದೈನಂದಿನ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಶ್ರೀ ಆರ್ಚಿಬಾಲ್ಡ್ ಫರ್ಟಾಡೊ ತಮ್ಮ ಸಂದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಒತ್ತಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಸ್ವಚ್ಛತೆಯನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು, ತಾಜಾ ಗಾಳಿ ಮತ್ತು ಶುದ್ಧ ನೀರನ್ನು ಖಚಿತಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು, ಪ್ಲಾಸ್ಟಿಕ್ ಬಳಕೆಯನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸುವುದು ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಸರ ಸ್ನೇಹಿ ಮರುಬಳಕೆ ಮಾಡಬಹುದಾದ ಚೀಲಗಳನ್ನು ಉತ್ತೇಜಿಸುವಂತಹ ಸರಳ ಆದರೆ ಪರಿಣಾಮಕಾರಿ ಅಭ್ಯಾಸಗಳನ್ನು ಅಳವಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಅವರು ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸಿದರು.
ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ನೋರೀನ್ ಲೆವಿಸ್ ಅವರು ಆರೋಗ್ಯಕರ ಪರಿಸರಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಗರಿಗರಿಯಾದ ಟಿಪ್ಪಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅದೇ ಕಾಳಜಿಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಧ್ವನಿಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ತ್ಯಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು – ವೈಜ್ಞಾನಿಕವಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತು ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಿತವಾಗಿ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುವಂತೆ ಸಭೆಯನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿದರು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವವರಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹಭಾಗಿತ್ವದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂತೋಷದಾಯಕ ಮತ್ತು ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣವಾದ ಟಿಪ್ಪಣಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮುಕ್ತಾಯಗೊಂಡಿತು. ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಉಪಾಹಾರವನ್ನು ನೀಡಲಾಯಿತು, ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವವರು ‘ಪೆರೇರಾ ಫಾರ್ಮ್ಸ್, ಕಟ್ಪಾಡಿ’ಯಿಂದ ಹೊಸದಾಗಿ ತಂದ ಸಾವಯವವಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆದ ಡ್ರ್ಯಾಗನ್ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ಮನೆಗೆ ಕೊಂಡೊಯ್ದರು – ಇದು ಆರೋಗ್ಯಕರ ಮತ್ತು ಸುಸ್ಥಿರ ಜೀವನವನ್ನು ಉತ್ತೇಜಿಸುವ ಒಂದು ಸೂಚಕವಾಗಿದೆ.
ಸಣ್ಣ, ಪ್ರಜ್ಞಾಪೂರ್ವಕ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಗಳು ಸಾಮೂಹಿಕವಾಗಿ ಹಸಿರು ಮತ್ತು ಆರೋಗ್ಯಕರ ನಾಳೆಗೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಬಹುದು ಎಂಬುದಕ್ಕೆ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಸೌಮ್ಯವಾದ ಜ್ಞಾಪನೆಯಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿತು.
ನಾವು ಭರವಸೆಯನ್ನು ನೆಡುವುದನ್ನು, ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಯನ್ನು ಪೋಷಿಸುವುದನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಹಸಿರು ಭವಿಷ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸುವುದನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರಿಸೋಣ.
World Environment Day in Kalyanpur – A call to keep our planet clean and green
An Environment Awareness Programme was organised on Sunday, 7th June 2026 at 9:30 AM at the plot of Mr. Ronald and Reena D’Souza, Holy Family Ward, by the Commission for Ecology (Parisar Ayog) of Mount Rosary Church, Santhekatte–Kallianpur.
The programme brought together various parish associations, namely the Parisar Ayog, Catholic Sabha, and Stree Sanghatan, highlighting unity and collective responsibility towards protecting our environment.
On behalf of the Organisors, Mr Valerian Fernandes, the Coordinator of the 20 Pastoral Commissions of the Mount Rosary Church Parish Pastoral Council warmly welcomed the gathering and explained the purpose of the programme, emphasizing the need for environmental awareness and sustainable living.
Gurkar Mr. Vincent Crasta, along with ward members, Parisar Ayog Convenor Mr. Jeffrey Furtado, President of Stree Sanghatan Mrs. Noreen Lewis and members, President of Catholic Sabha Mr. Archibald Furtado and members were present on the occasion. Mrs. Hilda Carnelio, Convenor of the Udupi Diocesan Health Commission, Mr Elias D’Souza, Vice President of Catholic Sabha, Kallianpur Deanery and Mrs Rosy Quadros, former President of Catholic Sabha Kallianpur Varado, were also present and expressed their solidarity for this noble cause.
As part of the programme, saplings were symbolically planted in the plot, signifying a shared commitment to nurturing and protecting nature.
In his message, Mr. Archibald Furtado emphasized that while planting saplings is symbolic, true environmental protection lies in our daily actions. He encouraged all to adopt simple yet effective practices such as maintaining cleanliness, ensuring fresh air and clean water, avoiding the use of plastic, and promoting eco-friendly reusable bags.
Mrs Noreen Lewis echoed the same concern in her crispy note, for a healthier surrounding and insisted the gathering to take care of waste – handling it scientifically and systematically…
The programme concluded on a joyful and meaningful note with fellowship among participants. Breakfast was served to all, and each participant carried home organically grown dragon fruits, available for sale brought fresh from ‘Pereira Farms, Katpady’ — a gesture promoting healthy and sustainable living.
The event served as a gentle reminder that small, conscious efforts can collectively lead to a greener and healthier tomorrow.
Let us continue to plant hope, nurture nature, and build a greener future.
