ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಪುರ; ಪರಿಸರ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆಗೆ ತನ್ನ ನಿರಂತರ ಬದ್ಧತೆಯ ಭಾಗವಾಗಿ, ಸಂತೆಕಟ್ಟೆ-ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಪುರ ಕ್ಯಾಥೋಲಿಕ್ ಸಭಾ, ಮೌಂಟ್ ರೋಸರಿ ಚರ್ಚ್, ಜುಲೈ 5 ರ ಭಾನುವಾರದಂದು ಶ್ರೀ ಡ್ಯಾನ್ಸಿ ಮಚಾದೊ ಅವರ ಸುಂದರವಾದ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ವನಮಹೋತ್ಸವ 2026 ಅನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಿತು.
ಕ್ಯಾಥೋಲಿಕ್ ಸಭಾದ ಸುಮಾರು 30 ಸದಸ್ಯರು ಮತ್ತು ರೋಸರಿ ವಾರ್ಡ್ನ ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಗಳು ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣ ಮರ ನೆಡುವ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಲು ಒಟ್ಟುಗೂಡಿದರು.
ಆತ್ಮೀಯ ಮತ್ತು ಮನೆಯ ಸ್ವಾಗತವನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತಾ, ಕ್ಯಾಥೋಲಿಕ್ ಸಭಾ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಶ್ರೀ ಆರ್ಚಿಬಾಲ್ಡ್ ಫುರ್ಟಾಡೊ ವನಮಹೋತ್ಸವದ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ತೋರಿಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಸರ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಒಂದು ಧ್ಯೇಯ ಮತ್ತು ನೈತಿಕ ಬಾಧ್ಯತೆಯಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಒತ್ತಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಕ್ಯಾಥೋಲಿಕ್ ಸಭೆಯು ವಿವಿಧ ಉಪಕ್ರಮಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಸ್ವಚ್ಛ ಮತ್ತು ಹಸಿರು ಪರಿಸರವನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಮೂಡಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ, ಗ್ರಹವನ್ನು ಆರೋಗ್ಯಕರವಾಗಿಡುವುದು ಮತ್ತು ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ ಪೀಳಿಗೆಗೆ ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ಹಸ್ತಾಂತರಿಸುವುದು ನಮ್ಮ ಸಾಮೂಹಿಕ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿ ಎಂದು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ನೆನಪಿಸುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಮೌಂಟ್ ರೋಸರಿ ಚರ್ಚ್ನ 20 ಆಯೋಗಗಳ ಸಂಚಾಲಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ವಲೇರಿಯನ್ ಫೆರ್ನಾಂಡಿಸ್ ಅವರು ಫಲಪ್ರದ ಸಸಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸಾಂಕೇತಿಕವಾಗಿ ನೆಡುವ ನೇತೃತ್ವ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು, ಇದು ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಯನ್ನು ಸಂರಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ಮತ್ತು ದೇವರ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಬದ್ಧತೆಯನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
ಧರ್ಮಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಪರಿಸರ ಆಯೋಗದ ಸಂಚಾಲಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಜೆಫ್ರಿ ಫುರ್ಟಾಡೊ; ಉಡುಪಿ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಕ್ಯಾಥೊಲಿಕ್ ಸಭಾದ ಮಾಜಿ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಸಂತೋಷ್ ಕರ್ನೆಲಿಯೊ; ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷ್ ಪ್ಯಾಸ್ಟೋರಲ್ ಕೌನ್ಸಿಲ್ನ ಮಾಜಿ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಲ್ಯೂಕ್ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜಾ; ಮತ್ತು ಕ್ಯಾಥೊಲಿಕ್ ಸಭಾದ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಪುರ ವಲಯದ ಮಾಜಿ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ರೋಸಿ ಕ್ವಾಡ್ರಸ್ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತಿಯು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ಫೂರ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಿತು.
ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ಕ್ಯಾಥೊಲಿಕ್ ಸಭಾ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಮಾರ್ಗರೇಟ್ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜಾ, ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಯ ಕಾಳಜಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರೀತಿಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿಸಲು ತಮ್ಮ ಸುಂದರವಾದ ಜಾಗವನ್ನು ಉದಾರವಾಗಿ ಒದಗಿಸಿದ್ದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಆತಿಥೇಯರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಡ್ಯಾನ್ಸಿ ಮಚಾಡೊ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಯನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
ಉಪಹಾರ ಮತ್ತು ಚಹಾದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಮುಕ್ತಾಯವಾಯಿತು. ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ಆವರಣದ ಪ್ರಶಾಂತತೆಯನ್ನು ಆನಂದಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಸಮಯ ಕಳೆದರು, ಅದರ ಭವ್ಯವಾದ ಹಳೆಯ ಮರಗಳು, ಔಷಧೀಯ ಪೊದೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸುಂದರವಾಗಿ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಉದ್ಯಾನವನಗಳು ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭವನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ಮರಣೀಯವಾಗಿಸಿದವು.
ಕ್ಯಾಥೊಲಿಕ್ ಸಭಾದ ಮಾಜಿ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಶ್ರೀ ಎಲಿಯಾಸ್ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜಾ, ನಿಯೋಜಿತ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಶ್ರೀ ಟೋಲ್ಬರ್ಟ್ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜಾ, ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಶ್ರೀ ರೂಬೆನ್ ರೆಬೆಲ್ಲೊ ಅವರು ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ನೆಲದ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದರು, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪದಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸದಸ್ಯರಿಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಆವರಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಡಲು ಅನುಕೂಲವಾಗುವಂತೆ ಅವರು ಆದೇಶಿಸಿದ ಸಸಿಗಳನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
Vanamahotsava 2026 Observed by Catholic Sabha at Santhekatte-Kallianpur.
Kallianpur; As part of its continuing commitment to environmental conservation, Catholic Sabha, Mount Rosary Church, Santhekatte-Kallianpur, observed Vanamahotsava 2026 on Sunday, 5th July, at the picturesque plot of Mr. Dancy Machado.
Around 30 members of Catholic Sabha along with representatives of Rosary Ward gathered at 9.30 a.m. to participate in the meaningful tree-planting programme.
Extending a warm and homely welcome, Catholic Sabha President Mr. Archibald Furtado highlighted the significance of Vanamahotsava and stressed that environmental protection is both a mission and a moral obligation. He said Catholic Sabha has been consistently creating awareness about maintaining a clean and green environment through various initiatives, reminding everyone that it is our collective responsibility to keep the planet healthy and safely hand it over to future generations.
The symbolic planting of fruit-bearing saplings was led by Mr. Valerian Fernandes, Convenor of the 20 Pastoral Commissions of Mount Rosary Church, signifying the community’s commitment to preserving nature and protecting God’s creation.
Among those present were Mr. Jeffrey Furtado, Convenor of the Parish Environment Commission (Parisar Ayog); Mr. Santhosh Carnelio, former President of Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh; Mr. Luke D’Souza, former Vice-President of the Parish Pastoral Council; and Mrs. Rosy Quadros, former President of Catholic Sabha Kallianpur Varado. Their presence added encouragement and inspiration to the programme.
Proposing the vote of thanks, Catholic Sabha Secretary Mrs. Margaret D’Souza expressed heartfelt gratitude to the host, Mr. Dancy Machado, for generously providing his beautiful property to demonstrate the community’s concern and love for nature.
The programme concluded with breakfast and tea. Participants spent some time enjoying the serenity of the traditional compound, admired for its majestic old trees, medicinal shrubs, and beautifully maintained gardens, making the occasion both meaningful and memorable.
Former President of Catholic Sabha Mr Elias D’Souza, President Designated Mr Tolbert D’Souza, Vice President Mr Reuben Rebello made all ground arrangements for a meaningful event as all Office bearers and Members were provided with saplings they ordered for to facilitate them to plant in their respective compounds.
