The Konkani Catholic Lawyers’ Guild celebrated the 77th Republic Day
ಮಂಗಳೂರು; ಕೊಂಕಣಿ ಕ್ಯಾಥೋಲಿಕ್ ವಕೀಲರ ಸಂಘವು 77 ನೇ ಗಣರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವವನ್ನು ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 1, 2026 ರ ಭಾನುವಾರದಂದು ಜೆಪ್ಪುವಿನ ಸೇಂಟ್ ಆಶ್ರಮ ವಸ್ತು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಾಲಯ ಸಭಾಂಗಣದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇಶಭಕ್ತಿಯ ಉತ್ಸಾಹದಿಂದ ಆಚರಿಸಿತು. ದೇವರ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದವನ್ನು ಕೋರುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಯಿತು, ಆಚರಣೆಗೆ ಗಂಭೀರ ಮತ್ತು ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣವಾದ ಸ್ವರವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿಸಿತು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ಕೊಂಕಣಿ ಕ್ಯಾಥೋಲಿಕ್ ವಕೀಲರ ಸಂಘದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಸುಶಾಂತ್ ಸಿ. ಎ. ಸಲ್ಡಾನ್ಹಾ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಯುವಜನ ಮತ್ತು ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ಸಬಲೀಕರಣ ಉಪ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಶ್ರೀ ಪ್ರದೀಪ್ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜಾ, ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಮತ್ತು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಪರಿಸರ ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಮಂಡಳಿಯ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೆ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಶಾಲೆಟ್ ಪಿಂಟೊ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು, ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಗೌರವ ಅತಿಥಿಯಾಗಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಗಿಲ್ಡ್ನ ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಫಾದರ್ ಜೆ. ಬಿ. ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾ ಅವರು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಗಿಲ್ಡ್ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ರಿಚರ್ಡ್ ಡಿ’ಕೋಸ್ಟಾ ಮತ್ತು ಅಲೋಶಿಯಸ್ ಲೋಬೊ ಕೂಡ ವೇದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ದೀಪ ಬೆಳಗಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಔಪಚಾರಿಕವಾಗಿ ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಲಾಯಿತು, ನಂತರ ಮಹಾತ್ಮ ಗಾಂಧಿ ಮತ್ತು ಡಾ. ಬಿ. ಆರ್. ಅಂಬೇಡ್ಕರ್ ಅವರ ಭಾವಚಿತ್ರಗಳಿಗೆ ಪುಷ್ಪ ನಮನ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಲಾಯಿತು, ಅವರು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ನೀಡಿದ ಅಪಾರ ಕೊಡುಗೆಯನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿದರು.
ಹಿರಿಯ ವಕೀಲ ಕ್ಲಾರೆನ್ಸ್ ಪೈಸ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಲು ಸನ್ಮಾನ ಸಮಾರಂಭವನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಲಾಯಿತು, ಅವರು ಕ್ರಿಶ್ಚಿಯನ್ ಸಮುದಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರ ದೀರ್ಘಕಾಲೀನ ಸೇವೆ ಮತ್ತು ವಿವಿಧ ಕೊಡುಗೆಗಳನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿದರು. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಪರಿಸರ ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಮಂಡಳಿಯ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗಿ ನೇಮಕಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಶಲೆಟ್ ಪಿಂಟೊ ಮತ್ತು ಬೆಳ್ತಂಗಡಿ ಬಾರ್ ಅಸೋಸಿಯೇಷನ್ನ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗಿ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾದ ಅಲೋಶಿಯಸ್ ಲೋಬೊ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಪುರಸ್ಕೃತರು ತಮ್ಮ ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಯನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ತಮ್ಮ ಅನುಭವಗಳನ್ನು ಸಭೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡರು.

ತಮ್ಮ ಭಾಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ, ಶ್ರೀ ಪ್ರದೀಪ್ ಡಿಸೋಜ ಅವರು ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ವಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಲಭ್ಯವಿರುವ ಅಗಾಧ ಅವಕಾಶಗಳನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ತೋರಿಸಿದರು, ಯುವ ಕಾನೂನು ವೃತ್ತಿಪರರು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣ ವೃತ್ತಿ ಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿ ಅನ್ವೇಷಿಸಲು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸಿದರು.
ಫಾದರ್ ಜೆ.ಬಿ. ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಸಂದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನೈತಿಕ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿ ಮತ್ತು ನ್ಯಾಯ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮಾನತೆಯನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿಹಿಡಿಯುವಲ್ಲಿ ವಕೀಲರ ಪಾತ್ರವನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಬಿಂಬಿಸಿದರು.
ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೀಯ ಭಾಷಣವನ್ನು ಸುಶಾಂತ್ ಸಿ.ಎ. ಸಲ್ಡಾನ್ಹಾ ಅವರು ಮಾಡಿದರು, ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಸಾಧನೆಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಸಾಧಕರನ್ನು ಅಭಿನಂದಿಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ನಾಯಕರಾಗಿ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಸಮುದಾಯವನ್ನು ಬಲಪಡಿಸಲು ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಸೇರಬೇಕು ಮತ್ತು ವಕೀಲರು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಪಾತ್ರವನ್ನು ವಹಿಸಬೇಕಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಒತ್ತಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಅವರ ಬೆಂಬಲಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಇತರ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಲು ಮತ್ತು ಆ ಮೂಲಕ ಬಲವಾದ ಸಮುದಾಯವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿದರು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಡಿಯೋನಾ ಎಲ್. ಡಿಸೋಜ ಅವರು ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು. ರೇಷ್ಮಾ ಪ್ರಿಯಾ ಡಿಸೋಜ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು, ಆದರೆ ರೋಶನ್ ಡಿಸೋಜ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು.
ಕೊಂಕಣಿ ಕ್ಯಾಥೋಲಿಕ್ ವಕೀಲರ ಸಂಘದ ಸದಸ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ದೇಶಭಕ್ತಿ, ಏಕತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಂವಿಧಾನಿಕ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಬದ್ಧತೆಯನ್ನು ಬಲಪಡಿಸುವ ಯಶಸ್ವಿ ಟಿಪ್ಪಣಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಆಚರಣೆ ಮುಕ್ತಾಯವಾಯಿತು.
The Konkani Catholic Lawyers’ Guild celebrated the 77th Republic Day
The Konkani Catholic Lawyers’ Guild celebrated the 77th Republic Day with patriotic fervour at the St Antony Ashram Museum Hall, Jeppu, on Sunday 1st February 2026. The programme began by invoking God’s blessings, setting a solemn and meaningful tone for the celebration.
The event was presided over by Sushanth C. A. Saldanha, President of the Konkani Catholic Lawyers’ Guild. The chief guests on the occasion were Mr Pradeep D’Souza, Deputy Director Empowerment of Youth and Sports Dakshina Kannada, mangaluru and Mrs Shalet Pinto, Chair Person Karnataka Eco tourism development board, while Fr J. B. Crasta Spiritual director of the guild graced the programme as the guest of honour. Guild Vice President Richard D’Costa and Aloysius Lobo were also present on the dais.
The programme was formally inaugurated by the lighting of the lamp, followed by a floral tribute to the portraits of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr B. R. Ambedkar, acknowledging their immense contribution to the nation.
A felicitation ceremony was held to honour Senior advocate Clarence Pais, acknowledging his long standing service and various contributions for the christian community. Shalet Pinto on being appointed as chairperson of Karnatak eco tourism development board and Aloysius Lobo on being elected as president of belthangady bar Association. The awardees expressed their heartfelt gratitude and shared their experiences with the gathering.

In his address, Mr Pradeep D’Souza highlighted the vast opportunities available in the government sector, encouraging young legal professionals to explore public service as a meaningful career path.
Fr J. B. Crasta, in his message, reflected on ethical responsibility, and the role of lawyers in upholding justice and equality.
Presidential address was delivered by Sushanth C. A. Saldanha, who congratulated the achievers for thier Achievements and emphasized that as leaders all shall join together for strengthening community and that advocates have greater role to play and also thanked everyone for their support and sought to work together with other organizations and thereby build a strong community.
The programme was compered by Deona L. D’Souza. Reshma Priya D’Souza welcomed the gathering, while Roshan D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks.
The celebration concluded on a successful note, reinforcing patriotism, unity, and commitment to constitutional values among the members of the Konkani Catholic Lawyers’ Guild.
