The annual festival of Saint Anthony is being celebrated at the Saint Anthony Chapel in Devalakunda, under the auspices of the Saint Francis of Assisi Church in Tallur.
ತಲ್ಲೂರು; ತಲ್ಲೂರಿನ ಸಂತ ಫ್ರಾನ್ಸಿಸ್ ಅಸ್ಸಿಸಿ ಚರ್ಚಿನ ಅಧೀನದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ದೇವಲಕುಂದದ ಸಂತ ಅಂತೋನಿ ಚಾಪೆಲ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂತ ಅಂತೋನಿಯವರ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ಮಹೋತ್ಸವವು 08-06-2026ರಂದು ಭಕ್ತಿಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯಿತು.
ಮಹೋತ್ಸವದ ಸಿದ್ಧತೆಯ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ ಮೂರು ದಿನಗಳ ನೊವೆನವನ್ನು ವಂದನೀಯ ಫಾ. ಡ್ಯಾನ್ಸಿ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ ಅವರು ನೆರವೇರಿಸಿದರು.
08-06-2026ರಂದು ನಡೆದ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ಮಹೋತ್ಸವದ ದಿವ್ಯ ಬಲಿಪೂಜೆಯನ್ನು ಉಡುಪಿ ಧರ್ಮಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದ ದೇವರ ಕರೆ ಆಯೋಗದ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರೂ ಹಾಗೂ ಬಿಷಪ್ ಅವರ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಯೂ ಆಗಿರುವ ವಂದನೀಯ ಫಾ. ಜಿತೇಶ್ ಕ್ಯಾಸ್ತಲಿನೊ ಅವರು ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಗುರುಗಳಾಗಿ ಆಗಮಿಸಿ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು.
ತಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರವಚನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು, “ಸಂತ ಅಂತೋನಿಯವರು ಕರುಣೆ, ದಯೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರೀತಿಗೆ ಹೆಸರುವಾಸಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರು ಶುಭವಾರ್ತೆಯ ಪ್ರಬಲ ಪ್ರಸಾರಕರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ದೇವರು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಶುಭವಾರ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಾರುವ ಮಹತ್ತರ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ತಮ್ಮ ಮಾತುಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಅವರು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ ಜನರಿಗೂ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಹತ್ತಿರವಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರು ಬೋಧಿಸಿದ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಅಳವಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಮಾದರಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
ಪೋರ್ಚುಗಲ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಿಸಿದ ಸಂತ ಅಂತೋನಿಯವರು ಇಟಲಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕ ಅದ್ಭುತಗಳನ್ನು ನೆರವೇರಿಸಿದರು. ಕಳೆದುಹೋದ ವಸ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿಕೊಡುವ ಪೋಷಕ ಸಂತರಾಗಿ ಅವರು ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅಲ್ಲದೆ, ದಯೆ ತೋರುವ, ಬಡವರ ಹಾಗೂ ನಿರ್ಗತಿಕರ ಕಾಳಜಿ ವಹಿಸುವ, ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಹೋದರತ್ವದ ಸಂದೇಶವನ್ನು ಸಾರುವ ಪೋಷಕ ಸಂತರಾಗಿಯೂ ಗೌರವಿಸಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ನಾವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಅವರ ಆದರ್ಶಗಳನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಳವಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು, ಅವರ ಮಧ್ಯಸ್ಥಿಕೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ದೇವರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಸಾಗೋಣ ಹಾಗೂ ನಮ್ಮ ಚರ್ಚಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಲಿಷ್ಠ ಸಮುದಾಯವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸೋಣ” ಎಂದು ಕರೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಈ ಮಹೋತ್ಸವದಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಂದಾಪುರ ವಲಯದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಧರ್ಮಗುರುಗಳು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಕುಂದಾಪುರ ವಲಯದ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಗುರುಗಳಾದ ವಂದನೀಯ ಫಾ. ಪೌಲ್ ರೇಗೋ ಅವರು ಶುಭಾಶಯಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ಚರ್ಚಿನ ಧರ್ಮಗುರುಗಳಾದ ವಂದನೀಯ ಫಾ. ಎಡ್ವಿನ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ ಅವರು ಮಹೋತ್ಸವದ ಯಶಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಸಹಕರಿಸಿದ ದಾನಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಹಿತೈಷಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮೇಣದಬತ್ತಿ ನೀಡಿ ಗೌರವಿಸಿ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು. ಅಲ್ಲದೆ, ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಯಶಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಸಹಕರಿಸಿದ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು.
ಈ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ಮಹೋತ್ಸವದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲನಾ ಮಂಡಳಿಯ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು, ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಗಳು, 20 ಆಯೋಗಗಳ ಸಂಚಾಲಕರು, ಧರ್ಮಭಗಿನಿಯರು ಹಾಗೂ ನೂರಾರು ಭಕ್ತಾದಿಗಳು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.

The annual feast of St. Anthony was celebrated with great devotion on 8 June 2026 at St. Anthony’s Chapel, Devalkunda, which comes under St. Francis Assisi Church, Tallur.
As part of the preparation for the feast, a three-day Novena was conducted by Rev. Fr. Dancy D’Souza.
The solemn feast Mass on 8 June 2026 was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Jitesh Castelino, Director of the Vocation Commission of the Diocese of Udupi and Secretary to the Bishop, who presided as the main celebrant.
In his homily, he said that St. Anthony was renowned for his compassion, mercy, and love. He was a great preacher of the Good News and was entrusted by God with the mission of proclaiming the Gospel. Through his words and deeds, he remained close not only to God but also to the people. He practised in his life the very values that he preached.
Born in Portugal, St. Anthony later came to Italy and performed many miracles. He is widely known as the patron saint who helps people find lost things. He is also remembered as a saint of kindness, concern for others, love, and fraternity. Fr. Jitesh encouraged the faithful to follow the teachings and virtues of St. Anthony, seek God’s grace through his intercession, and work together to build a strong and vibrant Christian community.
All the priests of the Kundapur Deanery participated in the celebration. Rev. Fr. Paul Rego, the Dean of Kundapur Deanery, conveyed his feast greetings.
The Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Edwin D’Souza, honoured the donors and well-wishers who contributed to the success of the feast by presenting them with candles as a token of appreciation. He also expressed his gratitude to everyone who supported the celebration.
The feast was attended by the President and Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council, coordinators of the 20 parish commissions, religious sisters, and hundreds of devotees.
