St. Joseph’s University Hosts Grand Open Day 2025: A Showcase of Innovation, Inclusivity, and Inspiration
ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಸೇಂಟ್ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯವು ಜುಲೈ 28, 2025ರಂದು ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ಓಪನ್ ಡೇ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ನಡೆಸಿತು. 1,300ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಭೇಟಿಗಾರರು ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಾ ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ರೆ. ಫಾದರ್ ಡಾ. ವಿಕ್ಟರ್ ಲೋಬೊ ಎಸ್.ಜೆ. (ಕುಲಪತಿ), ಡಾ. ಚಂದ್ರಭಾಸ್ ನಾರಾಯಣ (ರಾಜೀವ್ ಗಾಂಧಿ ಜೈವಿಕತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ) ಮತ್ತು ಡಾ. ವಿ. ಕ್ರಿಸ್ಟೋ ಸೆಲ್ವನ್ (ಓಪನ್ ಡೇ 2025 ಸಂಯೋಜಕ) ಅವರು ಗೌರವ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ 180ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನಗಳು ನಡೆದಿದ್ದು, ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆ, ಬಯೋಪ್ಲಾಸ್ಟಿಕ್ ತಯಾರಿಕೆ, ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಸೆಗ್ರೆಬಾಟ್ ಯೋಜನೆ, ಇತಿಹಾಸ ವಿಭಾಗದ ವಿಜಯನಗರ ಸಾಮ್ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಮಾದರಿ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಸೃಜನಾತ್ಮಕ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನಗಳು ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಆಕರ್ಷಣೆಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದವು.
“ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಸೇತುವೆಗಳ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ” ಎಂಬ ವಿಶೇಷ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಡಿಪಿಎಸ್ ಈಸ್ಟ್ ನ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲೆ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಮನಿಲಾ ಕಾರ್ವಾಲ್ಕೋ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಅನೇಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣತಜ್ಞರು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಸಂಸದೀಯ ಸಭೆ 2025 ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಪ್ರಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹಾಯಕವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಪೋಷಕರಿಗಾಗಿ “ಉನ್ನತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ – ಬದಲಾಗುವ ಅವಕಾಶಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಆಯ್ಕೆಗಳು” ವಿಶೇಷ ಸೆಷನ್ ನಡೆದಿತ್ತು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಂತಿಮ ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಡೆಲ್ಲಿ ಪಬ್ಲಿಕ್ ಸ್ಕೂಲ್, ಎಲೆಕ್ಟ್ರಾನಿಕ್ ಸಿಟಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ಕೂಲ್ ಆಫ್ ಇಂಡಿಯಾ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡವು. ಸಂವಹನ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಶಾಲೆಯನ್ನು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ವಿಭಾಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಚಾಂಪಿಯನ್ ಆಗಿ ಘೋಷಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಶಾಲಾ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರು ಮತ್ತು ಶಿಕ್ಷಣತಜ್ಞರೊಂದಿಗೆ ‘ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಸಹಯೋಗ’ ಕುರಿತು ವಿಶೇಷ ಚರ್ಚೆ ನಡೆಯಿತು. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಸಂಸದೀಯ ಸಭೆ, ಪೋಷಕರಿಗಾಗಿ ವಿಶೇಷ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನ ಸೆಷನ್ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳು ಸಹ ನಡೆದಿದ್ದು, ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಸಮಗ್ರ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿಸಿತು.

St. Joseph’s University, Bengaluru, opened its doors to over 1300 visitors including High School and
PUC students, parents, principals, teachers, and educationists during its vibrant Open Day 2025. The
event showcased the university’s dedication to academic excellence, creativity, and inclusive
education through more than 180 exhibits by SJU students and visiting schools.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Rev. Fr Dr Victor Lobo SJ, Vice Chancellor; Dr. Chandrabhas
Narayana, Director, Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology; and Dr. V Christo Selvan, Convenor of
Open Day 2025. The event began with a soulful performance by the university choir, followed by a
keynote address by Dr. Narayana, who emphasized the importance of creativity and resilience in
education. Fr. Lobo welcomed the gathering with reflections on the Jesuit values of social justice,
transformation, and academic curiosity.

Students from 27 institutions explored the campus through guided tours, subject-based exhibits, and
career guidance sessions. Interactive elements such as parliamentary debates, sports activities, and
simulations added to the dynamic learning experience.
Highlights included the History Department’s recreation of the Vijayanagara Empire; Zoology’s pain-free injection model inspired by mosquito anatomy; and Commerce’s innovative solutions like
“SegreBot” and “From Collapse to Catalyst.” The Science departments impressed with cancer
research models, bioplastics, ferrofluid microplastic removal, and solar robots. Literary and cultural
heritage was celebrated by the Language departments, while Media and Journalism students
engaged visitors with immersive installations and investigative themes.
A special meet titled “Building Academic Bridges” brought together school principals and university
administrators to discuss collaborative programs, research, and internships. Thought leaders
including Ms. Manila Carvalho (Principal, DPS East) and university officials engaged in meaningful
dialogue about shaping the future of education.
The Student Parliamentary Assembly 2025 simulated real-world legislative debates, fostering civic
awareness and leadership. Meanwhile, a parent engagement session titled “Higher Education – Evolving Opportunities and Options” addressed the evolving landscape of student development and academic planning.
The event concluded with a grand valedictory ceremony. Delhi Public School, Electronic City
won the overall championship, and School of India claimed the second prize under the High
School and PUC categories. The School of Communication and Media Studies was declared
the overall champion under the SJU category, marking a proud moment for the university community.
Open Day 2025 at St Joseph’s University stood
as a testimony to the institution’s unwavering commitment to holistic education. It was more than
an event—it was a movement of minds, a celebration of voices, and a preview of a future shaped by
knowledge, empathy, and imagination.
