MANAGLORE CENTENARY VALEDICTORY CEREMONY OF ST VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY
ಮಂಗಳೂರು;ಎಸ್.ಎಸ್.ವಿ.ಪಿ. ಎಂದು ಜನಪ್ರಿಯವಾಗಿರುವ ಅಂತರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಸೇವಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಸೈಂಟ್ ವಿನ್ಸೆಂಟ್ ಡಿ ಪಾವ್ಲ್ ಸೊಸೈಟಿ, ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಕ್ಯಾಥೊಲಿಕ್ ಧರ್ಮಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ಅಸ್ತಿತ್ವದ ನೂರು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಸಂಭ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಇದೇ 2026ರ ಜನವರಿ 25ರ ಭಾನುವಾರದಂದು ಫಾದರ್ ಮುಲ್ಲರ್ ಕನ್ವೆಂಷನ್ ಸೆಂಟರ್ ಸಭಾಂಗಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಶತಮಾನೋತ್ಸವ ಸಮಾರೋಪ ಸಮಾರಂಭ ನೆರವೇರಲಿದೆ.
ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಧರ್ಮಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದ ಬಿಷಪ್ ಅತೀ ವಂದನೀಯ ಡಾ. ಪೀಟರ್ ಪೌಲ್ ಸಲ್ಡಾನ್ಹಾ ಅವರು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆ ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದು ಎಸ್.ಎಸ್.ವಿ.ಪಿ. ಅಂತರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಯುವಾನ್ ಮ್ಯಾನುಯೆಲ್ ಬ್ಯುರ್ಗೊ ಗೊಮೆಜ್ ಅವರು ಸ್ಪೇಯ್ನ್ ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಬಂದು ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಯಾಗಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಗೌರವ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಧರ್ಮ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯ ದ ನಿವೃತ್ತ ಬಿಷಪ್ ಅತೀ ವಂದನೀಯ ಡಾ. ಅಲೋಶಿಯಸ್ ಪೌಲ್ ಡಿಸೋಜ, ಎಸ್. ಎಸ್. ವಿ. ಪಿ. ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮಂಡಳಿಯ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಶ್ರೀ ಜೂಡ್ ಮಂಗಳರಾಜ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಅಂತಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಓಂಬುಡ್ಸ್ಮನ್ ಶ್ರೀ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಪಾಂಡಿಯನ್ ಅವರು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತಲಿರುವರು.
ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ವಿಧಾನ ಪರಿಷತ್ ಸದಸ್ಯರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಐವನ್ ಡಿಸೋಜ, ಫಾದರ್ ಮುಲ್ಲರ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ವಂದನೀಯ ಫಾವುಸ್ಟಿನ್ ಲೂಕಾಸ್ ಲೋಬೊ, ಮತ್ತು ಖ್ಯಾತ ಉದ್ಯಮಿ – ದಾನಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಎಲಿಯಾಸ್ ಮಿನೇಜಸ್ ಅವರು ಗೌರವ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇವರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಎಸ್.ಎಸ್.ವಿ.ಪಿ. ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಸಾಂತಿಯಾಗು ಮಾಣಿಕ್ಯಂ, ಆಶಾ ವಾಜ್ ಮತ್ತು ಯುವ ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿ ಅಲಿಸ್ಟರ್ ನಜರೆತ್ ಅವರು ವೇದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತಲಿರುವರು.
ವಿಶ್ವದ ಅತಿ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕ್ಯಾಥೊಲಿಕ್ ಸಮಾನ ಮನಸ್ಕ ಸೇವಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಾದ ಸೈಂಟ್ ವಿನ್ಸೆಂಟ್ ಡಿ ಪಾವ್ಲ್ ಸೊಸೈಟಿ ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಬೆಂದೂರ್ ಚರ್ಚ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ 1926ರಲ್ಲಿ ಜನವರಿ 10 ರಂದು ಅಸ್ತಿತ್ವಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂತು. ಅದೇ ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮಿಲಾಗ್ರಿಸ್ ಘಟಕದ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆಯಾಯಿತು. ನಂತರ 1926 ಇಸವಿಯ ಮೇ ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನೂ ಎರಡು ಘಟಕಗಳು ರೊಸಾರಿಯೊ ಕೆಥಡ್ರಾಲ್ ಮತ್ತು ಬಿಜೈ ಚರ್ಚ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಅಸ್ತಿತ್ವಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದವು.
ಸೈಂಟ್ ವಿನ್ಸೆಂಟ್ ಡಿ ಪಾವ್ಲ್ ಸೊಸೈಟಿಯ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಸೇವಾ ಕೆಲಸವೆಂದರೆ ಬಡವರು ಮತ್ತು ನಿರ್ಗತಿಕರನ್ನು ಭೇಟಿಯಾಗುವುದು ಮತ್ತು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅಗತ್ಯದ ನೆರವನ್ನು ವಿತರಿಸುವುದು. ಹೀಗೆ ನೆರವನ್ನು ನೀಡುವಾಗ ಗೌಪ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಕೇಂದ್ರಿಯ ಸಮಿತಿಯ ಅಧೀನದಲ್ಲಿ 111 ಘಟಕಗಳಿದ್ದು ಪ್ರತೀ ಘಟಕವು ತಮ್ಮ ಪರಿಸರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕನಿಷ್ಠ 5 ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳನ್ನು ದತ್ತು ಪಡೆದು ಅವರನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮದೇ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಸದಸ್ಯರಂತೆ ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ. ಹೀಗೆ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ 623 ದತ್ತು ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳಿದ್ದು 1765 ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಸದಸ್ಯರನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ.
ಎಲ್ಲಾ 111 ಘಟಕಗಳು ಮತ್ತು 2 ಯುವ ಘಟಕಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಟ್ಟು1618 ಸದಸ್ಯ ಬಲ ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಎಸ್.ಎಸ್.ವಿ.ಪಿ. ಬಡವರ ಸೇವೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದೇ ಪ್ರಚಾರವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದೆ.
ಫಾದರ್ ಮುಲ್ಲರ್ ಮೆಡಿಕಲ್ ಕಾಲೇಜ್ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆ, ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಮತ್ತು ತುಂಬೆ ಇವರ ಸಹಯೋಗದೊಂದಿಗೆ ದತ್ತು ಪಡೆದ ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳ ಸದಸ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಉಚಿತ ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಮತ್ತು ಡಯಾಲಿಸಿಸ್ ಆರೈಕೆಯನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುವ ಮಹತ್ತರವಾದ ಯೋಜನೆ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ.
ಶತಮಾನೋತ್ಸವದ ಸವಿನೆನಪಿಗಾಗಿ ಸೈಂಟ್ ವಿನ್ಸೆಂಟ್ ಡಿ ಪಾವ್ಲ್ ಸೊಸೈಟಿ ಎರಡು ಮಹತ್ತರ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸಿದೆ.
‘ಶಿಕಪ್’ ಎಸ್.ಎಸ್.ವಿ.ಪಿ.ಯ ದತ್ತು ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳ ಸುಮಾರು 405 ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಉನ್ನತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣಕ್ಕೆ ನೆರವು.
‘ಆಸ್ರೊ ’ – ನೂರು ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳಿಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲು ಅಥವಾ ದುರಸ್ತಿ ಮಾಡಲು ಧನ ಸಹಾಯ.
ಸಮಾರೋಪ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಂದು ಶ್ರೀ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಇ ಮಿನೇಜಸ್ ಇವರ ಟ್ರಿನಿಟಿ ಮೆಡಿಕೇರ್ ಸರ್ವಿಸಸ್ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್ ಉಡುಪಿ ಇವರ ಸಹಾಯದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಿಡ್ನಿ ವೈಫಲ್ಯತೆಯಿಂದ ಬಳಲುವ ರೋಗಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸಾ ವೆಚ್ಚ ಹಾಗೂ ಡಯಾಲಿಸಿಸ್ ವೆಚ್ಚವನ್ನು ಭರಿಸಲು ನೆರವಾಗುವ SSVP-TRINITY KIDNEY CARE PROJECT ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಗಲಿದೆ.
ಸೈಂಟ್ ವಿನ್ಸೆಂಟ್ ಡಿ ಪಾವ್ಲ್ ಸೊಸೈಟಿಯ ಇತಿಹಾಸ:
1833 ಇಸವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಫ್ರಾನ್ಸ್ ದೇಶದ ಪ್ಯಾರಿಸ್ನ 22 ವರ್ಷದ ವಂದನೀಯ ಫ್ರೆಡ್ರಿಕ್ ಒಜಾನಮ್ ಮತ್ತು ಅವರ 6 ಒಡನಾಡಿಗಳು ಸೈಂಟ್ ವಿನ್ಸೆಂಟ್ ಡಿ ಪಾವ್ಲ್ ಸೊಸೈಟಿಯನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದರು. ಇಂದು ಇದು ವಿಶ್ವದ 158 ದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹರಡಿದೆ. 8 ಲಕ್ಷಕ್ಕೂ ಅಧಿಕ ಸದಸ್ಯರು ಮತ್ತು ಹತ್ತು ಲಕ್ಷಕ್ಕೂ ಮಿಕ್ಕಿ ಸ್ವಯಂಸೇವಕರು ದೀನ ದಲಿತರ ಸೇವೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ 1863 ಇಸವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಂಬಯಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆಗೊಂಡು, ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ 7225 ಘಟಕಗಳು ಮತ್ತು 65546 ಸದಸ್ಯರನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ.

ಲೊಯ್ಡ್ ರೇಗೊ , ಸಂಚಾಲಕರು, ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ಸಮಿತಿ ಇವರು ಜನವರಿ 22, 2026, ಪತ್ರಿಕಾ ಭವನ ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಪ್ರತಿಕಾಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು .
MANAGLORE CENTENARY VALEDICTORY CEREMONY OF ST VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY
Mangalore;The St. Vincent De Paul Society (SVP), an international service organisation popularly known as SSVP, is celebrating 100 years of its presence in the Mangalore Catholic Diocese. The Centenary Valedictory Ceremony will be held on Sunday, 25 January 2026, at the Father Muller Convention Centre.
The programme will be presided over by the Most Rev. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangalore. The International President of SSVP, Mr Juan Manuel Buergo Gomez, will arrive from Spain and participate as the Chief Guest. The Most Rev. Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop Emeritus of Mangalore Diocese, Mr Jude Mangalraj, President of the SSVP. National Council, and Mr Joseph Pandian, International Ombudsman, will be present as Guests of Honour.
Members of the Karnataka Legislative Council Mr Ivan D’Souza, Director of Father Muller charitable Institutions Rev. Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo, and renowned Entrepreneur and Philanthropist Mr Joseph Elias Menezes will grace the occasion as Guests of Honour. Along with them, Mr Santiago Manickam, National Secretary of SSVP, Ms Asha Vaz, and youth representative Mr Alister Nazareth will be present on the dais.
The St. Vincent De Paul Society, the world’s largest Catholic lay service organisation, was established in Mangalore at Bendur Church on 10 January 1926. In the same month, the Milagres unit was formed, followed by two more units in May 1926 at Rosario Cathedral and Bejai Church.
The core mission of the St. Vincent De Paul Society is to visit the poor and the needy and provide them with necessary assistance while strictly maintaining confidentiality and dignity.
At present, under the Mangalore Central Council, there are 111 units, each adopting at least five families in their respective neighbourhoods and caring for them as members of their own family. Currently, 623 adopted families comprising 1,765 family members are being supported. With a total strength of 1,618 members across 111 units and 2 Youth Units, the SSVP continues its service to the poor quietly and without publicity.
In collaboration with Father Muller Medical College Hospital, Mangalore, and Thumbay, a major project providing free medical treatment and dialysis care to members of adopted families is being successfully implemented.
To commemorate the centenary, the St. Vincent De Paul Society has launched two major projects:
‘Shikop’ – Educational support for higher studies to about 405 students from SSVP adopted families.
‘Aasro’ – Financial assistance to 100 families for construction or repair of their houses.
During the valedictory function, the SSVP–Trinity Kidney Care Project will be inaugurated with the support of Joseph E. Menezes’s Trinity Medicare Services Trust, Udupi, to assist kidney patients with medicines and dialysis.
History of the St. Vincent De Paul Society
The Society was founded in 1833 in Paris, France, by Blessed Frederic Ozanam, aged 22, along with six companions. Today, it is present in 158 countries worldwide, with over 800,000 members and more than one million volunteers dedicated to serving the poor and marginalised. In India, the Society was established in Mumbai in 1863 and presently has 7,225 units with 65,546 members.
