INTERSNIP in Artificial Intelligence for the MCA and MSc students of St Joseph’s University, Bengaluru
ಸೇಂಟ್ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ (SJU) ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಮೈಸೂರು ರಸ್ತೆಯ ಕೃಪಾನಿಧಿ ಕಾಮೆಡ್ಕೇರ್ಸ್ ಇನ್ನೋವೇಶನ್ ಹಬ್ನಲ್ಲಿ (Comedkares Innovation Hub) ನಡೆಸಲಾದ ಎಐ/ಎಮ್ಎಲ್ (AI/ML) ಇಂಟರ್ನ್ಶಿಪ್, ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಬೋಧನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಉದ್ಯಮಕ್ಕೆ ಪೂರಕವಾದ ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ಅನ್ವಯಿಕತೆಯ ನಡುವಿನ ಅಂತರವನ್ನು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಮಾಡುವಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಮೈಲಿಗಲ್ಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಜೂನ್ ಮತ್ತು ಜುಲೈ ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ತಿಂಗಳ ಕಾಲ ನಡೆದ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು, ಮಾನವ-ಕೇಂದ್ರಿತ ವಿನ್ಯಾಸ ಚಿಂತನೆ (human-centred design thinking), ವರ್ಚುವಲ್ ಪ್ರೊಟೊಟೈಪಿಂಗ್ ಮತ್ತು ಡಿಜಿಟಲ್ ಸ್ಕೆಚಿಂಗ್ ಅನ್ನು ಕೃತಕ ಬುದ್ಧಿಮತ್ತೆ (AI) ಮತ್ತು ಮಷಿನ್ ಲರ್ನಿಂಗ್ (ML) ವಿಷಯಗಳ ಸಮಗ್ರ ಪ್ರಾಯೋಗಿಕ ಪಠ್ಯಕ್ರಮದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂಯೋಜಿಸಿತ್ತು. 27 ಎಂ.ಎಸ್ಸಿ ಬಿಗ್ ಡೇಟಾ ಅನಾಲಿಟಿಕ್ಸ್, 20 ಎಂ.ಸಿ.ಎ ಮತ್ತು 3 ಎಂ.ಎಸ್ಸಿ ಕಂಪ್ಯೂಟರ್ ಸೈನ್ಸ್ ಒಳಗೊಂಡಂತೆ ಒಟ್ಟು 50 ಸ್ನಾತಕೋತ್ತರ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಈ ಇಂಟರ್ನ್ಶಿಪ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಹಂತಗಳನ್ನು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಳಿಸಿದರು. ಅವರು ಆರಂಭಿಕ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳ ಹುಡುಕಾಟ ಮತ್ತು ಎಂಪಥಿ ಮ್ಯಾಪಿಂಗ್ನಿಂದ ಹಿಡಿದು ಸುಧಾರಿತ ಎನ್ಸೆಂಬಲ್ ಮಷಿನ್ ಲರ್ನಿಂಗ್ ಮಾಡೆಲ್ಗಳ (advanced ensemble machine learning models) ತರಬೇತಿಯವರೆಗೆ ಪ್ರಗತಿ ಸಾಧಿಸಿದರು.
ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು 11 ಪ್ರಾಜೆಕ್ಟ್ ತಂಡಗಳಾಗಿ ಸಂಘಟಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. 4ನೇ ವಾರದಲ್ಲಿ, ತಂಡಗಳು ಸುಧಾರಿತ ಎನ್ಸೆಂಬಲ್ ವಿಧಾನಗಳು (Ensemble Methods), ಗ್ರೇಡಿಯಂಟ್ ಬೂಸ್ಟಿಂಗ್ (Gradient Boosting) ಮತ್ತು ಎಕ್ಸ್ಜಿಬೂಸ್ಟ್ (XGBoost) ಮಾಡೆಲ್ಗಳನ್ನು ಕಲಿತು ತಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಾಜೆಕ್ಟ್ ಪೈಪ್ಲೈನ್ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಳವಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಂತಿಮ ವಾರವು (ವಾರ 5: 8 – 12 ಜೂನ್ 2026) ಮಾಡೆಲ್ನ ಸ್ಥಿರತೆಯ ಸುಧಾರಣೆಗಳು, ಸಮಗ್ರ ಪ್ರಾಜೆಕ್ಟ್ ದಾಖಲಾತಿ (documentation), ಅಣಕು ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತಿ ತಾಲೀಮುಗಳು (mock presentation rehearsals) ಮತ್ತು ಅಂತಿಮ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೇಂದ್ರೀಕೃತವಾಗಿತ್ತು.
ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ತಮ್ಮ ತಂಡಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಆಳವಾದ ಸಹಯೋಗವನ್ನು ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಪ್ರಾಜೆಕ್ಟ್ ಚಾರ್ಟರ್ಗಳು, ಜುಪಿಟರ್ ನೋಟ್ಬುಕ್ಗಳು (Jupyter notebooks), ಗಿಟ್ ಕೋಡ್ ರೆಪೊಸಿಟರಿಗಳು (Git code repositories), ಆನ್ಶೇಪ್ ಕ್ಯಾಡ್ ಮಾಡೆಲ್ಗಳು (Onshape CAD models), ಫಿಗ್ಮಾ ವೈರ್ಫ್ರೇಮ್ಗಳು (Figma wireframes) ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರೆಪ್ಇಂಡಿಯಾ ಪ್ರಗತಿ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳು ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ವಿವಿಧ ಪುರಾವೆಗಳು ಅವರ ಕಲಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಗತಿಯನ್ನು ದೃಢೀಕರಿಸಿವೆ. 5ನೇ ವಾರದ ಅಂತಿಮ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನವು ತಂಡಗಳಿಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಂಡ, ಸಂವಾದಾತ್ಮಕ ಎಐ/ಎಮ್ಎಲ್ (AI/ML) ಪರಿಹಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿಸಲು ಅವಕಾಶ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಟ್ಟಿತು. ಇದು ಉದ್ಯಮ-ಮಟ್ಟದ ಡೇಟಾ ಸೈನ್ಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಎಂಜಿನಿಯರಿಂಗ್ ಪಾತ್ರಗಳಿಗೆ ಅವರ ಸಿದ್ಧತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಾಬೀತುಪಡಿಸಿತು.
ಈ ಸಮಾರೋಪ ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಾ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್ ಇನ್ನೋವೇಶನ್ ಸೆಂಟರ್ನ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ಮತ್ತು ಸಿಇಒ ಶ್ರೀ ಮುರಳಿಧರ್, ಮಾಹಿತಿ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಶಾಲೆಯ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾದ ಫಾದರ್ ಡೆನ್ಜಿಲ್ ಲೋಬೋ ಎಸ್ಜೆ, ಮಾಹಿತಿ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಶಾಲೆಯ ಡೀನ್ ಆದ ಡಾ. ಬೋಜಮ್ಮ, ಮತ್ತು ಕಂಪ್ಯೂಟರ್ ಸೈನ್ಸ್ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಾದ (HOD) ಡಾ. ಪ್ರಶಾಂತಿ ಅವರು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.

The AI/ML Internship conducted for students of St. Joseph’s University (SJU) at the Comedkares Innovation Hub (Mysore Road) represents a critical milestone in bridging academic instruction with industry-aligned technical application.
Running for one month in June and July, this program integrated human-centred design thinking, virtual prototyping, and digital sketching with a comprehensive hands-on curriculum in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
50 postgraduate students — comprising 27 MSc Big Data Analytics, 20 MCA, and 3 MSc Computer Science —completed all four phases of the internship, progressing from initial problem scouting and empathy mapping through to training advanced ensemble machine learning models.
The students were organised into 11 project teams. In Week 4, teams learned and integrated advanced Ensemble Methods, Gradient Boosting, and XGBoost models into their project pipelines. The final week of the program (Week 5: 8 – 12 June 2026) focussed on final model stability improvements, comprehensive project documentation, mock presentation rehearsals, and a final showcase.
Students have demonstrated outstanding participation and deep collaboration across their teams. Evidence — including project charters, Jupyter notebooks, Git code repositories, Onshape CAD models, Figma wireframes, and PrepIndia progress logs — validated their learning and progress. The final showcase in Week 5 allowed teams to demonstrate their completed, interactive AI/ML solutions, proving their readiness for industry-level data science and engineering roles.
