ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸಪುರ: ರೋಟರಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯು ಅನೇಕ ಸೇವಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಪುರಸಭೆಯ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಗೆ ನೇತ್ರ ತಪಾಸಣಾ ಶಿಬಿರವನ್ನು ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವುದು ಶ್ಲಾಘನೀಯವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಪುರಸಭಾ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಭಾಸ್ಕರ್ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ರೋಟರಿ ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸಪುರ ಸೆಂಟ್ರಲ್ ಹಾಗೂ ವಾಸನ್ ಐ ಕೇರ್ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಪುರಸಭಾ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂಧಿಗೆ ಉಚಿತ ನೇತ್ರ ತಪಾಸಣಾ ಶಿಭಿರಕ್ಕೆ ಚಾಲನೆ ನೀಡಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಭಾಸ್ಕರ್, ರೋಟರಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯು ಅಂತರರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಉತ್ತಮವಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಅನೇಕ ಸೇವಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಶ್ಲಾಘನೀಯ, ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸಪುರ ತಾಲ್ಲೂಕಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಉತ್ತಮ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದು ಇನ್ನೂ ಇಂತಹ ಅನೇಕ ಸೇವಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ನಾನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಸಹಕಾರವನ್ನು ನೀಡುವುದಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ರೋಟರಿ ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸಪುರ ಸೆಂಟ್ರಲ್‍ನ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಎಸ್.ಎನ್. ಮಂಜುನಾಥರೆಡ್ಡಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ರೋಟರಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯು ಉಚಿತ ನೇತ್ರ ತಪಾಸಣಾ ಶಿಭಿರವನ್ನು ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಂಡು ಪುರಸಭಾ ಕಚೇರಿಯ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂಧಿಗೆ ಕಣ್ಣಿನ ತಪಾಸಣೆಯನ್ನು ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಏನಾದರೂ ಕಣ್ಣಿನಲ್ಲಿ ದೋಷ ಕಂಡುಬಂದರೆ ವಾಸನ್ ಐ ಕೇರ್, ಕೋಲಾರ ಇವರ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಉಚಿತವಾಗಿ ಹಾಗೂ ರಿಯಾಯಿತಿ ದರದಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗುವುದು, ಈ ಅವಕಾಶವನ್ನು ಸದುಪಯೋಗಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ಜೋನಲ್ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಎಸ್. ಶಿವಮೂರ್ತಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸಪುರದಲ್ಲಿ ರೋಟರಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾದಾಗಲಿನಿಂದಲೂ ಅನೇಕ ಸೇವಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳಾದ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಶಿಭಿರವನ್ನು ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ನೌಕರರಿಗೆ, ಕೆ.ಎಸ್.ಆರ್.ಟಿ.ಸಿ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂಧಿಗೆ, ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯದ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಗೆ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ತಪಾಸಣಾ ಶಿಭಿರ, ಅನೇಕ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ/ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿಯರಿಗೆ ಶಾಲಾ ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳನ್ನು ಉಚಿತವಾಗಿ ನೀಡುವುದು, ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಶಾಲೆಗಳ ಕಟ್ಟಡಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಸುಂದರವಾದ ಚಿತ್ರಣವನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸುವುದು, ಮಾಸ್ಕ್ ಗಳನ್ನು ವಿತರಿಸಿರುವುದು, ಕೋವಿಡ್ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕರಿಗೆ ಆಹಾರ ಪದಾರ್ಥಗಳನ್ನು ವಿತರಿಸಿರುವುದು ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಅನೇಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದು, ಇನ್ನು ಮುಂದೆಯು ಬಡಜನತೆಗೆ ಪ್ರಯೋಗವಾಗುವಂತೆ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಗಡಿ ಭಾಗದ ಜನತೆಗೆ ಉಪಯಕ್ತವಾಗುವಂತ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಎನ್. ಕೃಷ್ಣಮೂರ್ತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಪ್ರಾಸ್ತಾವಿಕವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.
ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಪುರಸಭಾ ಮುಖ್ಯಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಸತ್ಯನಾರಾಯಣ್, ಪುರಸಭಾ ಸದಸ್ಯರು, ಆರೋಗ್ಯಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ರಮೇಶ್ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಅನೇಕ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂಧಿ, ವಾಸನ್ ಐ ಕೇರ್‍ನ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂಧಿ ಹಾಜರಿದ್ದರು.

Milagres College, Kallianpur, observed Gandhi Jayanti on October 2, 2024, with a Campus Cleaning Drive organized by the NSS Unit. The program commenced with a formal ceremony, graced by Chief Guest Dr. Jayaram Shettigar, Associate Professor of History. NSS Officers Mr. Ganesh Nayak and Mrs. Shubhalatha, along with NSS Unit leaders, paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi’s photograph, followed by a soulful prayer song.

Dr. Shettigar addressed the gathering, highlighting the significance of Gandhi Jayanti and the Swachhata drive. He shared inspiring anecdotes from Gandhi’s life, emphasizing cleanliness, community service, and social responsibility. His words motivated the volunteers to embody Gandhi’s values.

Subsequently, over 120 NSS volunteers and leaders were divided into five teams, each assigned specific areas for cleaning. With enthusiasm and dedication, they cleaned the academic blocks, library, Miyawaki forest and surroundings. The collective effort transformed the campus, reflecting the unit’s commitment to sustainability and civic engagement.

‘Barkur was remained as a favourite destination for Hobali, Taluk and Dist Level Games Tournament over the years…..’ Mr B Seetharama Shetty, the Retired principal of National PU College revealed in his inaugural address to the young teenagers who arrived to Barkur to participate in the Tennis Volley Ball Games – Singles and Doubles and various Skip rope events. He lighted the traditional lamp to herald the beginning of the event along with dignitaries on the dais.
On 1st October, 2024, the National Auditorium was full to its capacity as the athletes and team managers were present to witness the opening ceremony, which was given a start by students with Prayer hymn followed by a formal but cordial welcome address by the Principal NPU – Prof U Kottraswamy and floral reception and recognition by Physical Director of NPU, versatile and experienced Mr Umesh Shetty, the master mind all the arrangements with his team of co workers.
Treasurer of Barkur Educational Society, BES Mr Krishna Hebbar conveyed his best wisher to all participants in the Tournament.
On this occasion, the sponsors of the Trophies and Shields, the Rotary Barkur and its dynamic President Mr Ganesh Shetty was honoured with a memento by the Principal.
Mr B Shantharama Shetty the President of BES in his presidential address, expressed his happiness to see and receive sports persons in large number accompanied by their coaches and trainers in Barkur a historical and holy place and the National Grounds a witness of achievements and records over the last 80 long years, in various track, field and games in the Udupi and then DK District. He advised all to adhere and abide rules and regulations, discipline of the game with sportive spirit and follow the instructions of the tournament referees and teachers.
Among others, Correspondent of the National PUC Mr Gopal Naik, Admn Coordinator of National Group of Educational Institutions Mr P. Archibald Furtado, Mrs Jyothi Shetty, Treasurer of National Old Students Association, President of Rotary Club Barkur Mr Ganesh Shetty were present on the dais.
To conclude the colourful programme, Mrs Usha Kiran Shetty, Lecturer in Mathematics proposed vote of thanks while Mrs Jyothy meticulously anchored the short stage program.

ನಾವು ಆರೋಪಿಗಳ ವಿರುದ್ದ ದೂರು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿ ಮೂರು ದಿನಗಳು ಕಳೆದರೂ ಸಹ ಇದುವರೆಗೂ ಆರೋಪಿಗಳನ್ನು ಬಂದಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಇಲಾಖೆ ವಿಫಲವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಕಾರಣ ಅರೋಪಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅತಿ ಶೀಘ್ರವಾಗಿ ಬಂದಿಸದಿದ್ದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಂದಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಉಗ್ರಹೋರಾಟ ನಡೆಸುವುದಾಗಿ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಸಿದರು.

The skilled team from St Agnes PU College emerged victorious at the District Level Table Tennis Tournament, organized by Govindadasa PU College, Surathkal. Demonstrating exceptional skill and teamwork, the players secured the prestigious winners’ trophy.

Among the standout performers, Nahla Fathima and Prapthi were selected to represent the district at the upcoming state-level competition. Their success is evidence of the dedication and hard work of the entire team. The management, principal, faculty and students extend their heartfelt congratulations to the winners and wish them the best for their future endeavors.

The well-known outlet for cotton dress materials and readymade men’s clothing, ‘Cottonking’, was inaugurated at Alfa Towers, Hampankatta, on Friday, October 4.

Cottonking’s Director, Koushik Marathe, along with Walter Nandalike, founder and managing director of Daijiworld media, inaugurated the new outlet.

The Cottonking store has been relocated to Hampankatta from Kankanady.
Director Koushik Marathe said, “We have relocated Cottonking to the heart of the city, and this is our 250th store. Cottonking specializes in 100% cotton without compromise. We have introduced anti-stain dress materials, which are our best-selling product, and recently launched a new range of Pixel trousers.”

Shivamogga, October 3, 2024: Bishop Francis Serrao SJ, Bishop of the Diocese of Shimoga, has appointed Very Rev. Fr. Stany D’Souza, presently the Rector of Sacred Heart Cathedral, Shivamogga, as the Vicar General of the Diocese of Shimoga. He will assume charge on October 7, 2024.

Very Rev. Msgr. Felix Joseph Noronha served as Vicar General for the last 10 years.

Rev. Fr. Stany D’Souza is a multi-talented priest. He is a very simple, humble, and spiritual person. He is an excellent pastor and friendly in nature. He is a man of wisdom and understanding.

He has experience serving the Diocese in various capacities under the guidance of the first Bishop of the Diocese of Shimoga, the late Most Rev. Dr. Ignatius Pinto (who later became the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Bangalore), and Most Rev. Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo (the present Bishop of the Diocese of Udupi).

– Music: Composed tunes for more than 85 Kannada Christian devotional songs and composed a few national patriotic songs, prayer songs, welcome songs, as well as a few dance dramas. The devotional songs are published in cassettes/CDs/DVDs like “Mahima”, “Anugraha”, “Bandhavya”, “Mamatheya Mandara”, “Olavina Asare”, “Jagadolavina Taaye”, and “Manadalli Bhayavetake”.

– Written and published small religious booklets in Kannada like “Sanyasa Vritha Sweekara Vidhi”, “Bala Yesuvina Bhakthi Maale”, etc. Translated many articles from English to Kannada, which are published in various Christian periodicals.

– Preaching sermons, i.e., giving religious discourses.

– Conducting orientations for teachers and students

October 2, 2024, on the birthday of Mahatma Gandhiji, Snehalaya Chartitable Trust, Bachalike, Pavoor, Manjeswar declared open the new De-Addiction center for the general public.

In a significant step towards combating addiction and promoting rehabilitation of victims of addiction, the Snehalaya Deaddiction Center was formally inaugurated today in a grand manner attended by esteemed dignitaries, Donors and social & community leaders.

Renowned philanthropist and businessman, Shri. Michael D’Souza,  inaugurated the center, by cutting the ribbon and by lighting of the lamp.

Most Rev. Dr.  Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangalore, lead the prayer service & blessed the new building. The Auxiliary Bishop of Delhi, Most Rev. Dr.   Deepak Valerian Tauro, was present in the blessing ceremony.

The presence of  Sri U.T. Khader, Honorable Speaker of Karnataka,Shri  AKM Ashraf, MLA, Manjeswaram, and Smt. Vijayalaxmi Shibaroor, prominent journalist and venerable Athmadas yammi an omnist monk enhanced the glow of the event. .

Other notable guests included Sri. N Ali Abdulla, OCB Chairman, Sri. Sinukumar, Member Secretary, OCB, Kerala, and several other distinguished guests.

The Snehalaya De-addiction Center built with an approximate cost of 7.5 crores  aims to provide comprehensive rehabilitation services to individuals struggling with addiction, offering a supportive environment for curative support system, counselling and reintegration into society.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Michael D’Souza emphasized at his inaugural speech, the need for collective efforts to address the growing issue of addiction and praised the initiative. He also expressed a deep note of the committed service of Snehalaya.

Sri U.T. Khader, speaker of Karnataka Assembly expressed his appreciation for the center’s growth as he has seen the institute grow from day one. A special mention on Manna initiative was well appreciated by the speaker.

Bishop Peter Paul Saldanha in his message said,”May this institution be a beacon of hope for those struggling with addiction, guiding them towards a path of recovery and redemption. However, the word addicts could be avoided as they are victims of situations “

Smt. Vijayalaxmi Shibaroor, a noted journalist gave a timely message that we should rather close down de addiction centers rather than opening them. Then we know the society has bettered. The Government, system is promoting alchohol and substances for their revenue and we struggle to bring in the change.

The keynote speaker, venerable Athmadas Yammi an omnist monk recited invocation of three predominant religions and gave a strong message of Humanity as one of the everlasting religion and the real Sense of holiness is at such institutions like Snehalaya.

As a gesture of gratitude and honor all the guests were felicitated and all the donors were recognised.

Shri AKM Ashraf, MLA, Manjeswar applauded the service being rendered by Snehalaya and said he is extremely happy to be a part of this institution.

Shri Walter Nandalike, of Daijiworld media in his speech said there are two types of people. One who have all riches for themselves (bogy) and others have for the welfare of others (Yogy). Snehalaya has a dedicated team and works for humane cause. He also expressed his happiness over the meticulous planning and organising effectively a grand event of this scale.

Shri Geo D Silva compare the inaugural function , while shri Rafiq master and Prof. Nelson Monis compared the formal function in most pleasing style.

The second edition of “Snehagange” written by Sri Ravi NAikapu on the life of the founder of Snehalaya was released by the Bishop Rev. Dr. Deepak V. Tauro at this occasion.

The founder president Joseph Crasta, welcomed the dignitaries and the secretary Smt. Olivia Crasta proposed vote of thanks. Blue Angel invoked Gods blessings and sang the national anthem at the end. More than 100 volunteers catered their free service. A well organised event was witnessed by more than 2000 people joyously. Lunch was served to all guests.
