ಭದ್ರಾವತಿ; ಜುಲೈ 27, 2025 ರಂದು, ಭದ್ರಾವತಿಯ ಗಾಂಧಿನಗರದ ಅವರ್ ಲೇಡಿ ಆಫ್ ವೈಲಂಕಣಿ ಚರ್ಚ್, ಅಜ್ಜ ಅಜ್ಜಿಯರ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಬಹಳ ಗೌರವ ಮತ್ತು ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಯಿಂದ ಆಚರಿಸಿತು. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಸೀನಿಯರ್ ಥೆರೆಸಾ ಮಸ್ಕರೇನ್ಹಸ್ SCB ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ಯಾಟೆಕಿಸಂ ಆಯೋಗ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿತ್ತು, ಅವರು ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನಾಪೂರ್ವಕ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ಯಾಟೆಕಿಸಂ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ವೃದ್ಧರಂತೆ ವೇಷ ಧರಿಸಿದ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಮುನ್ನಡೆಸುವ ಗಂಭೀರ ಪ್ರವೇಶ ಮೆರವಣಿಗೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಆಚರಣೆಯು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಯಿತು, ನಿಷ್ಠಾವಂತರು ವೃದ್ಧರನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸಬೇಕು, ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಯನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸುವ ಸಂದೇಶಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಚಿಂತನಶೀಲ ಫಲಕಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತಿಯು ನಮ್ಮ ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿರಿಯರನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸುವ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ಸುಂದರವಾಗಿ ಎತ್ತಿ ತೋರಿಸಿತು.
ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ, ಫಾದರ್ ಸ್ಟೀವನ್ ಡಿ’ಸಾ ಹೃದಯಸ್ಪರ್ಶಿ ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದರು, ಕುಟುಂಬದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಜ್ಜ ಅಜ್ಜಿಯರು ಮತ್ತು ಹಿರಿಯ ಸದಸ್ಯರ ಭರಿಸಲಾಗದ ಪಾತ್ರವನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಅವರ ಮಾತುಗಳು ಸಭೆಯನ್ನು ಆಳವಾಗಿ ಸ್ಪರ್ಶಿಸಿ, ಹಿರಿಯರು ನಮ್ಮ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ತರುವ ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತಿಕೆ, ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ನೆನಪಿಸಿದವು.

Bhadravathi; On 27th July 2025, Our Lady of Vailankanni Church, Gandhinagar, Bhadravathi, joyfully celebrated Grandparents’ Day with great reverence and gratitude. The event was organized by the Catechism Commission, under the leadership of Sr. Theresa Mascarenhas SCB, who guided the catechism children in preparing a meaningful and prayerful liturgy.
The celebration began with a solemn entrance procession led by children dressed as elderly individuals, carrying thoughtful placards with messages urging the faithful to respect, care for, and show love and gratitude to the elderly. Their presentation beautifully highlighted the theme of honoring the elders in our families and society.
During the homily, Fr. Steevan D’Sa delivered a heart-touching sermon, emphasizing the irreplaceable role of grandparents and elderly members in the family. His words deeply moved the congregation, reminding everyone of the wisdom, values, and blessings that elders bring into our lives.
A special moment of adoration was held, during which heartfelt prayers were offered for the healing of body and soul of all elderly members present. In a touching gesture, the Blessed Sacrament was brought close to them, giving them an opportunity to touch and receive a personal blessing, which brought great comfort and spiritual joy.
Following the Eucharistic celebration, the grandparents and elderly were honored and appreciated for their lifelong contributions and continued presence in the parish. As a token of love and recognition, each elderly person was presented with a blanket, symbolizing the community’s warmth and gratitude towards them.
The day concluded with smiles, blessings, and a renewed sense of appreciation for the elderly, who are indeed a precious gift to the Church and the community.
