ಉಡುಪಿ , ಸಂತೆಕಟ್ಟೆ, ಜುಲೈ 26: ಮುಂಬೈನ ‘ಜಾನ್ ಡಿ’ಸಿಲ್ವಾ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್’ ನ ಉದಾರ ಪ್ರಾಯೋಜಕರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕ್ಯಾಥೊಲಿಕ್ ಸಭಾ ಉಡುಪಿ ಪ್ರದೇಶ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ್ದ ಪ್ರತಿಭಾ ಪುರಸ್ಕಾರ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಜುಲೈ 26, 2026 ರ ಭಾನುವಾರದಂದು ಸಂತೆಕಟ್ಟೆಯ ಕಕ್ಕುಂಜೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಅನುಗ್ರಹ ಪ್ಯಾಸ್ಟೋರಲ್ ಸೆಂಟರ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹಳ ಗೌರವ ಮತ್ತು ಉತ್ಸಾಹದಿಂದ ನಡೆಯಿತು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ನೋಂದಣಿ ಮತ್ತು ಉಪಹಾರದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಯಿತು, ನಂತರ ಸಭೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ದೇವರ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದವನ್ನು ಕೋರುವ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಸೇವೆ ನಡೆಯಿತು.
ಅತಿಥಿಗಳು, ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಪುರಸ್ಕೃತರು, ಪೋಷಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಕ್ಯಾಥೊಲಿಕ್ ಸಭಾದ ಸದಸ್ಯರನ್ನು ಉತ್ತಮವಾಗಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾದ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಸಂಚಾಲಕ, ಕ್ಯಾಥೊಲಿಕ್ ಸಭಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ತಂಡದ ಮಾಜಿ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಡಾ. ಜೆರಾಲ್ಡ್ ಪಿಂಟೊ ಅವರು ಆತ್ಮೀಯವಾಗಿ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಉಡುಪಿ ಧರ್ಮಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದ ಬಿಷಪ್ ಅತಿ ವಂದನೀಯ ಡಾ. ಲೆಸ್ಲಿ ಸಿ. ಡಿ’ಸೋಜಾ ಅವರು ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ದೀಪವನ್ನು ಬೆಳಗಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿದರು, ಅವರು ಗರಿಗರಿಯಾದ ಮತ್ತು ಒಳನೋಟವುಳ್ಳ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಾ ಭಾಷಣ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
ಸಾಧಕರನ್ನು ಅಭಿನಂದಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಅವರು ನೆನಪಿಸಿದರು, ‘ಇದು ಇನ್ನೂ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಬೇಕಾದ ಅಡಿಪಾಯ ಮತ್ತು ರಚನೆಯಾಗಿದೆ, ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಗಳು, ಹಿರಿಯರಿಗೆ, ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಪೋಷಕರಿಗೆ, ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರಿಗೆ ಗೌರವವು ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದವನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ ಇದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ, ವೃತ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಉತ್ತಮ ಸಾಧನೆ ಮಾಡಬಹುದು ಮತ್ತು ಕುಟುಂಬ ಸಮಾಜ ಮತ್ತು ಚರ್ಚ್ಗೆ ಏನನ್ನಾದರೂ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿಸಬಹುದು…
13 ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಇಂತಹ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಉದಾರ ಜಾನ್ ಡಿಸಿಲ್ವಾ ಕುಟುಂಬಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರು ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕ ನಮನಗಳನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಕ್ಯಾಥೊಲಿಕ್ ಸಭೆಯು ಅದನ್ನು ಹತ್ತನೇ ತರಗತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪಿಯು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿ ಬಳಸಿಕೊಂಡಿತು…. ಉನ್ನತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶೇಷ ಸಾಧನೆಗಳು, ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಚಾರ್ಟರ್ಡ್ ಅಕೌಂಟೆಂಟ್ಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಯಶಸ್ವಿ ಪಿಎಚ್ಡಿ ಪದವಿ ಪಡೆದವರು…..
ಸಮಾರಂಭದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ಕ್ಯಾಥೊಲಿಕ್ ಸಭಾ ಉಡುಪಿ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಮೆಲ್ವಿನ್ ಅರಾನ್ಹಾ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ಈ ಸಭೆಯನ್ನು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಮತ್ತು ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಜಂಟಿ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕಿ ಡಾ. ಜಸಿಂತಾ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಯಾಗಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರು ಯುವಕರನ್ನು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಲು ಹೃದಯದಿಂದ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಹಣವನ್ನು ಗಳಿಸುವುದು ಮಾತ್ರ ಯಶಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಮೌಲ್ಯಮಾಪನ ಮಾಡುವ ಮಾನದಂಡವಾಗಿರಬಾರದು, ಆದರೆ ನಾವು ವಾಸಿಸುವ ಸಮಾಜಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಡುಗೆಯಿಂದ ಅಳೆಯಲ್ಪಡುವ ಜೀವನದ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟವು ಕ್ಯಾಥೊಲಿಕ್ಗಳಿಗೆ ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಎಂದು ಸಲಹೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.
‘ಹಿರಿಯರ ದಿನ’ದ ನೆನಪಿಗಾಗಿ ಕೇಕ್ ಕತ್ತರಿಸಿದ ನಂತರ, ಮುಂಬೈನ ಜಾನ್ ಡಿ’ಸಿಲ್ವಾ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್ನ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಜಾನ್ ಡಿ’ಸಿಲ್ವಾ ಅವರು ಸಭಿಕರನ್ನುದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠತೆಯನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ಯುವ ಸಾಧಕರನ್ನು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ಯಾಥೋಲಿಕ್ ಸಭೆಯ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಗಳನ್ನು ಶ್ಲಾಘಿಸಿದರು.
ದಂಪತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರ ಸೇವೆಗಾಗಿ ಅರ್ಹವಾಗಿ ಗುರುತಿಸಲಾಯಿತು, ಆದರೆ ನಿಯೋಜಿತ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಲೂಯಿಸ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ ಮುಂಬೈನಲ್ಲಿ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕರ್ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮಾಜ ಸೇವಕರಾಗಿ ಅವರ ವರ್ಣರಂಜಿತ ವೃತ್ತಿಜೀವನದ ಸಂಕ್ಷಿಪ್ತ ನೋಟವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದರು…
ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ರೋಗಿಗಳ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಗಾಗಿ 20 ಲಕ್ಷ ರೂ.ಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಡುಗೆ ನೀಡಿದ ಶ್ರೀ ಲಿಯೋ ಸಿಕ್ವೇರಾ ಅವರನ್ನು ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಲಾಯಿತು ಮತ್ತು ಶಶಕ್ತ್ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟಿ ಶ್ರೀ ವಾಲ್ಟರ್ ಸಿರಿಲ್ ಪಿಂಟೊ ಅವರನ್ನು ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರಿಗೆ ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಿದರು. ಜಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ಶಾಲು, ಪುಷ್ಪಗುಚ್ಛ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ಮರಣಿಕೆಗಳಿಂದ ಅಲಂಕರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ನಿಕಟ ಹಿಂದಿನ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ರೊನಾಲ್ಡ್ ಡಿ’ಅಲ್ಮೇಡಾ ಅವರು ಗೌರವಾನ್ವಿತ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬರು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಅಂಶವೆಂದರೆ ಅವರ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ವೃತ್ತಿಪರ ಸಾಧನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿ ಡಯಾಸಿಸ್ನ ಪಿಎಚ್ಡಿ ಪದವಿ ಪಡೆದವರು ಮತ್ತು ಚಾರ್ಟರ್ಡ್ ಅಕೌಂಟೆಂಟ್ಗಳನ್ನು ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸುವುದು.
ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ಜಂಟಿ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಸೋನು ಸಿಕ್ವೇರಾ ಮತ್ತು ಸಹಾಯಕ ಖಜಾಂಚಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಪ್ರತಿಮಾ ಡಿಸೋಜ ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಿದರು. ಬಿಷಪ್ ಮತ್ತು ವೇದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಡಜನ್ಗೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಜನರು ಸನ್ಮಾನ, ಶಾಲು ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ಮರಣಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸುವುದನ್ನು ವೀಕ್ಷಿಸುವುದು ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯ ಕ್ಷಣವಾಗಿತ್ತು.
ಉಡುಪಿ ಡಯಾಸಿಸ್ನ 51 ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷ್ಗಳಿಂದ 2025–26 ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ವರ್ಷದ ಎಸ್ಎಸ್ಎಲ್ಸಿ ಟಾಪರ್ಗಳಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 2026 ರಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಕಲೆ, ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ವಿಭಾಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪಿಯುಸಿ ಪಬ್ಲಿಕ್ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅತಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಅಂಕ ಗಳಿಸಿದವರಿಗೆ – ಕುಂದಾಪುರ, ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಪುರ, ಉಡುಪಿ, ಶಿರ್ವ ಮತ್ತು ಕಾರ್ಕಳದ ಐದು ಡೀನರಿಗಳಿಂದ ತಲಾ ಒಂದು – ಪ್ರತಿಭಾ ಪುರಸ್ಕಾರ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಮಾಣಪತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರದಾನ ಮಾಡುವುದು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಬಹುನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿತ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಅಂಶವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಸಭೆಯ ಚಪ್ಪಾಳೆಯ ನಡುವೆ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಪುರಸ್ಕೃತರನ್ನು ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಮೌಂಟ್ ರೋಸರಿಯ ಕಾಲಿನ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಯು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಪುರಸ್ಕೃತರ ಪರವಾಗಿ ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಯನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಮೆಲ್ವಿನ್ ಅರಾನ್ಹಾ ಅವರ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೀಯ ಭಾಷಣವೂ ಇತ್ತು, ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಸಾಧನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಶ್ಲಾಘಿಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಕ್ರಿಶ್ಚಿಯನ್ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇರೂರಿರುವ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮಾಜಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಲು ಬದ್ಧರಾಗಿರುವಾಗ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠತೆಗಾಗಿ ಶ್ರಮಿಸಲು ಅವರನ್ನು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸಿದರು.
ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಜೂಲಿಯೆಟ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ ಅವರು ಬಿಷಪ್, ಗಣ್ಯರು, ಪ್ರಾಯೋಜಕರು, ಸಂಘಟಕರು, ಸ್ವಯಂಸೇವಕರು, ಪೋಷಕರು, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಯಶಸ್ವಿ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆಗೆ ಸಹಕರಿಸಿದ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಯನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು.
ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರತಿಭಾನ್ವಿತ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು, ಅವರ ಪೋಷಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಕ್ಯಾಥೊಲಿಕ್ ಸಭಾ ಭ್ರಾತೃತ್ವಕ್ಕೆ ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನ ಸಹಭೋಜನದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಮುಕ್ತಾಯವಾಯಿತು.
Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh Honoured Meritorious Students in Udupi Diocese with ‘Prathibha Puraskar 2025 – 26
Ambagilu- Santhekatte, July 26: The Prathibha Puraskar programme, organised by Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh with the generous sponsors ‘John D’Silva Foundation’, Mumbai, was held with great dignity and enthusiasm on Sunday, 26th July 2026, at Anugraha Pastoral Centre, Kakkunje, Santhekatte.
The programme commenced with registration and breakfast, followed by a prayer service that invoked God’s blessings on the gathering.
The guests, awardees, parents and members of Catholic Sabha were warmly welcomed by Convenor of the well-organized event Dr Gerald Pinto, former President of Catholic Sabha Central Team.
The programme was inaugurated by Most Rev. Dr Leslie C. D’Souza, Bishop of Udupi Diocese,
by lighting the traditional lamp, who also delivered a crispy and insightful inaugural address.
While congratulating the achievers he reminded, ‘it’s just a foundation and structure yet to be built, prayers, respect to elders especially parents, teachers will the blessings so that you can excel in your studies, career and life and give back something to family society and church…
He had high regards to generous John DSilva family for doing such yeomen service since 13 long years and Catholic Sabha utilised it recognising students of class X and PU….special achievements in higher education especially Chartered Accountants and successful Ph.D. holders…..
The function was presided over by Mr Melwyn Aranha, President of Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh.
The gathering was graced by Dr Jacintha D’Souza, Joint Director, Department of Women and Child Welfare, Government of Karnataka, as the Chief Guest. She spoke from the heart to motivate the youngsters and advised not earning money alone not be the yardstick to evaluate success but quality of life measured by the contribution to society we live in always matters most for us Catholics.
After cutting the cake to commemorate ‘ Elder’s Day’ Mr John D’Silva, Chairman of the John D’Silva Foundation, Mumbai, addressed the audience and appreciated the efforts of Catholic Sabha in recognising academic excellence and motivating young achievers.
The couple were deservedly recognised for their service while President Designate Mr Louis DSouza gave a brief glimpse of their colourful career both as Banker and social worker in Mumbai…
Mr Leo Sequeira philanthropist who contributed Rs 20 Lakhs for the treatment of Cancer patients was honoured on this occasion and was introduced to the audience by Shashakt Trustee Mr Walter Cyril Pinto. Ge was draped with traditional shawl, bouquet and Mementos.
Mr Ronald D’Almeida, Immediate Past President, was among the distinguished Guests of Honour.
One of the highlights of the programme was the felicitation of Ph.D. holders and Chartered Accountants from the Diocese in recognition of their outstanding academic and professional accomplishments.
All were introduced by Join Secretary Ms Sonu Sequeira and Asst Treasurer Ms Prathima DSouza. It was a proud moment to witness over a dozen receiving citation, shawl and memento led by Bishop and all guests on stage.
Much awaited major highlight of the programme was the presentation of the Prathibha Puraskar awards and certificates to the SSLC toppers of the 2025–26 academic year from each of the over 51 parish of the Diocese of Udupi, as well as to the highest scorers in the PUC Public Examination held in April 2026 in the Arts, Commerce and Science streams—one each from the five Deaneries of Kundapura, Kallianpur, Udupi, Shirva and Karkala. The awardees were felicitated amidst thunderous applause from the gathering.
A representative of the students in Collin Crasta, Mount Rosary expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of all the students recipients.
The programme also featured Mr Melwyn Aranha’s Presidential Address, in which he lauded the achievements of the students and encouraged them to strive for greater excellence while remaining rooted in Christian values and committed to serving society.
The Secretary Ms Juliet DSouza profusely proposed the Vote of Thanks, expressing sincere gratitude to the Bishop, dignitaries, sponsors, organisers, volunteers, parents, students and everyone who had contributed to the successful conduct of the programme.
The programme concluded with fellowship over lunch to all present – meritorious students, their parents and Catholic Sabha fraternity.
