Catechism Day Celebrated at St. Francis Assisi Church, Tallur
ತಲ್ಲೂರು; ದಿನಾಂಕ 1/3/2026 ರಂದು ತಲ್ಲೂರಿನ ಸಂತ ಫ್ರಾನ್ಸಿಸ್ ಆಸ್ಸಿಸಿ ಚರ್ಚಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಆಯೋಗದ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ದಿವ್ಯ ಬಲಿ ಪೂಜೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಭಕ್ತಿಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಧರ್ಮಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದ ವೈಸಿಎಸ್ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾದ ವಂದನೀಯ ಫಾ. ರೋಷನ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ ಅವರು ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಯಾಜಕರಾಗಿ ಆಗಮಿಸಿ ದಿವ್ಯ ಬಲಿ ಪೂಜೆಯನ್ನು ನೆರವೇರಿಸಿದರು. ತಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರವಚನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು, “ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವು ಯೇಸುಕ್ರಿಸ್ತರ ರೂಪಾಂತರದ ಅರ್ಥವನ್ನು ನಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯಲು ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲೂ ಮೂರು ವಿಧದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿತ್ವಗಳಿರುತ್ತವೆ. ನಾವು ಇತರರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಇರುವಾಗ ನಮ್ಮ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿತ್ವವು ಕೆಲವೊಮ್ಮೆ ನಾಟಕೀಯವಾಗಿರಬಹುದು. ಆದರೆ ನಮ್ಮ ನಿಜವಾದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿತ್ವವು ನಾವು ಒಬ್ಬರೇ ಇರುವಾಗ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಆ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಲವಾರು ಸವಾಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸಬೇಕಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಆಗ ನಮಗೆ ದಾರಿದೀಪವಾಗುವುದೇ ನಾವು ಕಲಿತಿರುವ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ. ನಮ್ಮ ನೈಜ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ನೈತಿಕತೆ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಪಾತ್ರವಹಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ನೈತಿಕತೆಯನ್ನು ಯೇಸುಕ್ರಿಸ್ತರು ತಮ್ಮ ಜೀವನದ ಮೂಲಕ ನಮಗೆ ಬೋಧಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರು ದೇವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಆಂತರಿಕ ಸಂಬಂಧ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದು, ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿ ದೇವರ ಇಚ್ಛೆಯನ್ನು ಅರಿತರು. ನಾವು ಕೂಡ ನಮ್ಮ ದೈನಂದಿನ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ನೈತಿಕತೆಯ ಕಡೆ ಗಮನಹರಿಸಿ, ಒಳ್ಳೆಯತನವನ್ನು ಅಳವಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಲ್ಲಿ, ನಾವು ಕಲಿತ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಾರ್ಥಕವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ತದನಂತರ ನಡೆದ ಸಭಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಸಂತ ಫ್ರಾನ್ಸಿಸ್ ಅವರ ಜೀವನಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ವಿವಿಧ ನೃತ್ಯ ರೂಪಕಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿಸಿದರು. ಚರ್ಚಿನ ಧರ್ಮಗುರುಗಳಾದ ವಂದನೀಯ ಫಾ. ಎಡ್ವಿನ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ ಅವರು ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉತ್ತಮ ಅಂಕ ಗಳಿಸಿದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು, ತರಗತಿಗಳಿಗೆ ನಿಯಮಿತವಾಗಿ ಹಾಜರಾದ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು, ಹಾಗೂ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಬೋಧನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿದ್ದ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಸಹಕರಿಸಿದವರನ್ನು ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಿದರು.
ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಹಾಜರಿದ್ದ ವಂದನೀಯ ಫಾ. ರೋಷನ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ ಅವರು, “ನಮ್ಮ ಹೊರಗಿನ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅಧಿಕಾರವು ಕೇವಲ ಹೊರನೋಟಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾತ್ರ. ಆದರೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಆಂತರಿಕ ಜೀವನವು ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸದ ಮೇಲಿದೆ ಎಂದಾದರೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ನಮ್ಮ ಜೀವನಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಜವಾದ ಅರ್ಥ ದೊರೆಯುತ್ತದೆ. ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯ ಕಾಣಬೇಕಾದರೆ, ಅವರ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಕ್ಕೆ ಹೆತ್ತವರು ಮಹತ್ವ ನೀಡಬೇಕು. ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಇಂದಿಗೆ ಮುಗಿಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಇದು ನಿರಂತರ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆ. ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಇಂದು ಕಲಿತಿರುವ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಮುಂದಿನ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಳವಾಗಿ ಅಳವಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಹೆತ್ತವರು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಬೇಕು. ಆಗ ಮಾತ್ರ ಅವರು ಮುಂದಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಎದುರಾಗುವ ಸವಾಲುಗಳನ್ನು ದೇವರಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸವಿಟ್ಟು ಧೈರ್ಯದಿಂದ ಎದುರಿಸಬಹುದು” ಎಂದು ಸಂದೇಶ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲನಾ ಮಂಡಳಿಯ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು, ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ, 20 ಆಯೋಗಗಳ ಸಂಚಾಲಕರು, ಧರ್ಮಭಗಿನಿಯರು, ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಆಯೋಗದ ಸಂಚಾಲಕರು, ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರು ಹಾಗೂ ಪಾಲಕರು ಹಾಜರಿದ್ದರು. ಸುಮಾರು 200ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಮಂದಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದರು.
ಕುಮಾರಿ ವಿಯಾನ್ಸಾ ಮೊಂತೇರೋ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಪಾಲನಾ ಮಂಡಳಿಯ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ನೋಹ ಮೆಂಡೋನ್ಸಾ ಸ್ವಾಗತ ಭಾಷಣ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಗ್ಲೆವಿಟಾ ಪಸನ್ನ ಧನ್ಯವಾದ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು.
Catechism Day Celebrated at St. Francis Assisi Church, Tallur
Tallur; On 1/3/2026, Catechism Day was celebrated at St. Francis Assisi Church, Tallur, under the leadership of the Christian Education Commission through a solemn Holy Mass.
Rev. Fr. Roshan D’Souza, Director of YCS of the Diocese of Mangalore, was the main celebrant of the Holy Mass. In his homily, he said that Catechism helps us understand the meaning of the Transfiguration of Jesus Christ. Every person has three types of personality. When we are with others, our personality may sometimes appear dramatic, but our true personality is revealed when we are alone. During such moments, we face many challenges, and what guides us then is the Christian education we have learned. Morality plays a vital role in our true personality. Jesus Christ taught us morality through His life. He maintained a personal relationship with God through prayer and understood God’s will. Likewise, if we focus on personal morality in our daily life and practice goodness, the Catechism we have received becomes meaningful.
Following the Mass, a cultural program was held in which the children presented various dance performances based on the life of St. Francis. Rev. Fr. Edwin D’Souza, Parish Priest, felicitated the students who secured high marks in the Catechism examination, those who attended classes regularly, the teachers who contributed to Christian education, and all who supported the program.
As the chief guest, Rev. Fr. Roshan D’Souza said that our external talents and authority are only for outward appearance, but our life gains true meaning when it is rooted in Christian faith. Parents must give importance to their children’s faith to see true beauty in their lives. Catechism does not end today; it is a continuous journey. Parents should ensure that the values learned today are deeply rooted in their children’s future life. Only then will they be able to face challenges fearlessly with faith in God.
The Vice President and Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council, coordinators of 20 commissions, religious sisters, Christian education coordinators, teachers, and parents were present for the program. More than 200 people participated.
Miss Viyansa Monteiro compered the program. Noah Mendonsa, Vice President of the Students’ Council, delivered the welcome address. Secretary Glevita Pasanna proposed the vote of thanks.
