ಸೇಂಟ್ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ಸ್ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ‘ಅಥೆರಿಯಾ 2026’ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನೆ ; ಸೇಂಟ್ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ಸ್ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ; ದಲ್ಲಿ ‘ಅಥೆರಿಯಾ 2026’ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನೆ’ಅಥೆರಿಯಾ 2026’ರಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರ ಪಯಣವನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡ ಶಾನ್ವಿ ಶ್ರೀವಾಸ್ತವ ಮತ್ತು ನಿರೂಪ್ ಭಂಡಾರಿ
ಸೇಂಟ್ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ಸ್ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ‘ಸ್ಕೂಲ್ ಆಫ್ ಕಮ್ಯುನಿಕೇಷನ್ಸ್ ಅಂಡ್ ಮೀಡಿಯಾ ಸ್ಟಡೀಸ್’ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ್ದ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ, ವಿನ್ಯಾಸ ಮತ್ತು ಕಲಾ ಉತ್ಸವವಾದ ‘ಅಥೆರಿಯಾ 2026’ ಗುರುವಾರ, ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 10 ರಂದು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಸಭಾಂಗಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನೆಗೊಂಡಿತು. ಕನ್ನಡ ನಟರಾದ ನಿರೂಪ್ ಭಂಡಾರಿ ಮತ್ತು ಶಾನ್ವಿ ಶ್ರೀವಾಸ್ತವ ಅವರು ಸಮಾರಂಭದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದರು; ಅವರು ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರ ರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿನ ತಮ್ಮ ಅನುಭವಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಕೃತಕ ಬುದ್ಧಿಮತ್ತೆಯ (AI) ಯುಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾನವ ಭಾವನೆಗಳ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಕುರಿತು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.
ಬೆಳಗ್ಗೆ 9 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಸಂಗೀತ ಮತ್ತು ನೃತ್ಯ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಆರಂಭವಾಯಿತು. ಬೆಳಗ್ಗೆ 10:20ಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳು ‘ಆರ್ಟಿಸ್ಟಿಕಾ’ (Artistica), ‘ಅಲ್ಲುರಾ’ (Allura) ಮತ್ತು ‘ರಷಸ್ ನ್ಯಾಷನಲ್ ಫಿಲ್ಮ್ ಫೆಸ್ಟಿವಲ್’ (RNFF) ಅನ್ನು ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿದರು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಬೇಕಿದ್ದ ನಟ ಪೃಥ್ವಿ ಅಂಬಾರ್, ಅನಿವಾರ್ಯ ಕಾರಣವೊಂದರಿಂದಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾಜರಾಗಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.
ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ನಟ ನಿರೂಪ್ ಭಂಡಾರಿ ತಮ್ಮ ನಟನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣದ ಪಯಣದ ಕುರಿತು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು. ತಾವು ವೃತ್ತಿಜೀವನವನ್ನು ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದಾಗ ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಮತ್ತು ನಟನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಲಿಯಲು ಅವಕಾಶಗಳು ತುಂಬಾ ಕಡಿಮೆ ಇದ್ದವು ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಎಂಜಿನಿಯರಿಂಗ್ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ನಿರೂಪ್, ನಟನೆಯಲ್ಲಿನ ತಮ್ಮ ಆಸಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರಿಸುವ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ‘SAP ಲ್ಯಾಬ್ಸ್’ನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ನಂತರ ಅವರು ರಂಗಭೂಮಿ, ‘ಮೆಥಡ್ ಆಕ್ಟಿಂಗ್’ (method acting) ಮತ್ತು ಧ್ವನಿ ತರಬೇತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಭ್ಯಾಸ ನಡೆಸಿದರು ಹಾಗೂ ಅಸ್ಸಾಂನ ರಂಗಭೂಮಿ ತಂಡವೊಂದರ ಮೂಲಕ ದೇಹದ ಚಲನೆಯ ಕೌಶಲವನ್ನೂ ಕಲಿತರು.
ತಮಗೆ ಸಿಗದಿದ್ದ ಅವಕಾಶಗಳು ಇಂದು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಲಭ್ಯವಿವೆ, ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಸದುಪಯೋಗಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ನಿರೂಪ್ ಭಂಡಾರಿ ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿದರು. “ನಿಮ್ಮ ಚಿತ್ರಕಥೆ ಅಥವಾ ಕಥೆಯನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸಲು ನೀವು AI ಅನ್ನು ಬಳಸಬಹುದು, ಆದರೆ ಮಾನವ ಭಾವನೆ ಎಂಬುದು ನಮ್ಮಿಂದಲೇ ಬರಬೇಕಾದ ವಿಷಯ. ಈ ಎಲ್ಲ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನಗಳು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ನೋಡಲು ಆಕರ್ಷಕವಾಗಿಸಬಹುದು, ಆದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಥೆ ಅಥವಾ ಬರವಣಿಗೆ ಪರಿಣಾಮಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಚಿತ್ರ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದು ನಿರೂಪ್ ಭಂಡಾರಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರ ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕರು ಸಿನಿಮಾದ ಸೃಜನಶೀಲ ಮತ್ತು ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯಿಕ ಅಂಶಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅರಿವು ಹೊಂದುವ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಕುರಿತೂ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು. “ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರ ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕರಾಗಿ ನೀವು ನೆನಪಿಡಬೇಕಾದ ಒಂದು ವಿಷಯವೆಂದರೆ, ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣವು ಕೇವಲ ಕಲೆಯಲ್ಲ, ಅದು ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯವೂ ಹೌದು. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೊದಲ ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವಾಗ ನೀವು ಈ ಎರಡನ್ನೂ ಸಂಯೋಜಿಸಬೇಕು,” ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಶಾನ್ವಿ ಶ್ರೀವಾಸ್ತವ ಅವರು ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿನ ತಮ್ಮ ಸುದೀರ್ಘ ಪಯಣ ಮತ್ತು ನಟನೆಯ ಆರಂಭಿಕ ದಿನಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು. ತಾವು ಸುಮಾರು 15ನೇ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವೃತ್ತಿಜೀವನವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿ, ವಿವಿಧ ಭಾಷೆಗಳ ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾಗಿ ಅವರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. ಅಜಂಗಢದಲ್ಲಿ 12ನೇ ತರಗತಿಯವರೆಗೆ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಪೂರೈಸಿದ ಅವರು, ಚಿತ್ರರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿನ ತಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಯಾಣವು ಸವಾಲಿನಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದ್ದರೂ ತೃಪ್ತಿದಾಯಕವಾಗಿತ್ತು ಎಂದು ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು.
“ಇದು ಸುದೀರ್ಘವಾದ, ಸುಂದರವಾದ, ಕಠಿಣವಾದ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಿಹಿ-ಕಹಿಗಳ ಮಿಶ್ರಣದಂತಹ ಪಯಣವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಇಂದು ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರ ಮುಂದೆ ಕುಳಿತು ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ, ಹಿಂದೆ ನಾನೂ ನಿಮ್ಮಂತೆಯೇ ಕುಳಿತಿದ್ದ ಕ್ಷಣಗಳು ನೆನಪಾಗುತ್ತವೆ. ಇದು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಸುಂದರವಾದ, ಹಳೆಯ ನೆನಪುಗಳನ್ನು ಮರುಕಳಿಸುವ, ಭಾವಪೂರ್ಣ ಹಾಗೂ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಯ ಭಾವನೆಯನ್ನು ಮೂಡಿಸುವ ಕ್ಷಣವಾಗಿದೆ,” ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಕಲೆ ಮತ್ತು ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯದ ನಡುವಿನ ಸಂಬಂಧದ ಕುರಿತಾಗಿಯೂ ಶಾನ್ವಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು. ಸ್ಪರ್ಧಾತ್ಮಕ ಉದ್ಯಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಶಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಕಾಣಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸುವಾಗ ಕಲೆಯ ಮೇಲಿನ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳದಂತೆ ಅವರು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಲಹೆ ನೀಡಿದರು. “ಇತರರಿಗಿಂತ ಉತ್ತಮವಾಗಿರಲು ಮತ್ತು ಏನನ್ನಾದರೂ ಸಾಧಿಸಲು ನಡೆಸುವ ಈ ಓಟದಲ್ಲಿ, ನಾವು ಕಲೆಯ ಮೇಲಿನ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯನ್ನು ಮರೆತುಬಿಡುತ್ತೇವೆ; ಕಲೆಗಿಂತ ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಆದ್ಯತೆ ನೀಡುವಂತಾಗುತ್ತದೆ,” ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
‘ಅಥೆರಿಯಾ 2026’ (Atheria 2026) ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ, ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿ ಹಾಗೂ ನಟಿಯಾಗಿರುವ ಶಾನ್ವಿ ಅವರ ಮುಂಬರುವ ಚಿತ್ರ ‘ಅಮೆರಿಕ ಅಮೆರಿಕ 2’ರ ಪ್ರಚಾರವೂ ನಡೆಯಿತು. ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಾ ಸಮಾರಂಭವು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ಚಿತ್ರರಂಗದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ನಟರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂವಾದ ನಡೆಸಲು ಮತ್ತು ಅವರ ಅನುಭವಗಳಿಂದ ಕಲಿಯಲು ಉತ್ತಮ ಅವಕಾಶವನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟಿತು.

Atheria 2026, a media, design and art fest organised by the School of Communications and Media Studies at St Joseph’s University, was inaugurated on Thursday, September 10, at the University’s Main Auditorium. The chief guests for the ceremony were Kannada actors Nirup Bhandari and Shanvi Srivatsava who spoke about their experiences in cinema and the importance of human emotions and in the age of AI.
The inauguration began at 9 a.m with music and dance performances by students. The chief guests arrived at 10:20 am, inaugurating Artistica, Allura and Rushes National Film Festival (RNFF). Actor Pruthvi Ambaar, who was also expected to attend the event, could not make it due to an unspecified reason.
Actor Nirup Bhandari spoke about his journey into acting and filmmaking during the ceremony. He said that learning opportunities in filmmaking and acting were very less when he first started his career. Nirup worked at SAP Labs as he was an engineering student, while pursuing his interest in acting. He later practiced in theatre, method acting and voice training and also learned body movement through an Assamese theatre group.
Nirup Bhandari also motivated students to make use of the opportunities available to them today, as it wasn’t available for him. “You can ask AI to structure your script, structure your story, do all those things, but human emotion is something that should come from us. And with all this technology, everything can only make your film look good, but if your writing doesn’t work, your film will not work.” Nirup Bhandari said. He also spoke about the importance for filmmakers to get a sense of both the creative and commercial parts of cinema. “One thing you should remember as filmmakers is that filmmaking is not just art, it’s also commerce. So, you have to combine both when you make your first film.” He added.
Shanvi Srivastava spoke about her long journey in the film industry and her early beginnings in acting. She said she started her career around the age of 15 and went on to work in films across different languages. Having completed her education up to Class 12 in Azamgarh, she described her journey in cinema as challenging as well as rewarding.
“It was a long, beautiful, tough, sweet and sour journey. And today when I am sitting here talking right in front of you all, I see myself somewhere sitting there. It feels extremely beautiful, nostalgic, overwhelming and grateful.” She said,
Shanvi also spoke about the relationship between art and commerce. She told students not to lose their love for art while trying to find success in a competitive industry. She said, “While running this race to do something better and to be better than the others, we forget this love for art. We fall behind commerce”
Atheria 2026 also featured the promotion of the chief guests and actors upcoming film “America America 2”. The inauguration event gave students an opportunity to interact with the prominent actors from the Kannada film industry and learn from their experiences.
