ಬೆಳ್ತಂಗಡಿ: ಅನೇಕ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಹೋರಾಟಗಾರರ ಕಠಿಣ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮದ ಫಲವಾಗಿ ಭಾರತ ಇಂದು ಆಕ್ರಮಣಕಾರರಿಂದ ಬಂಧಮುಕ್ತವಾಗಿದೆ. ಭಾರತೀಯ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬ ನಾಗರಿಕ ಇಂದು ಶಿಕ್ಷಿತನಾಗುವಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊದಲ ಪ್ರಾಶಸ್ತ್ಯ ನೀಡುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದ ಬಲದಿಂದ ಎಲ್ಲ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಭವ್ಯ ಭಾರತದ ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆಯಲು ಪಣತೊಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಗುರುವಾಯನಕೆರೆ ವಿದ್ವತ್ ಪಿಯು ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಸುಭಾಶ್ಚಂದ್ರ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಸಂದೇಶ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಗುರುವಾಯನಕೆರೆ ವಿದ್ವತ್ ಪಿಯು ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಆ.15 ರಂದು 80 ನೇ ವರ್ಷದ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ದಿನಾಚರಣೆ ಧ್ವಜಾರೋಹಣ ನೆರವೇರಿಸಿ, ಬಳಿಕ ನಡೆದ ಸಭಾಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆ ವಹಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.
ತಾವು ಅನುಭವಿಸಿದ ಕಷ್ಟನಷ್ಟವನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಅನುಭವಿಸಬಾರದು ಎಂದು ಪೋಷಕರು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಉತ್ತಮ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳಿಗೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ತಾವೇನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ ಎಂಬುದರ ಅರಿವಿರಬೇಕು. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಅಮೂಲ್ಯ ಸಮಯ ವ್ಯರ್ಥವಾಗಿಸದೆ, ಭವಿಷ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತದ ಪ್ರತಿಹಂತದ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಗೆ ಬೆನ್ನೆಲುಬಾಗಿ ನಿಲ್ಲುವಲ್ಲಿ ದೇಶಪ್ರೇಮ ಕಣಕಣದಲ್ಲೂ ಮೊಳಗಲಿ ಎಂದು ಶುಭಾಶಯಕೋರಿದರು.
*ಬಲಿದಾನಿಗಳ ನೆನಪು ಮಾಸದಿರಲಿ:
ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾದ ಗಂಗಾಧರ್ ಈ ಮಂಡಗಳಲೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಸಂಘಟಿತ ಭಾರತದ ಕಲ್ಪನೆ ಇಲ್ಲದ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತದ ಹೆಸರು ಪಾಶ್ಚಿಮಾತ್ತ್ಯದ ಸುತ್ತ ಪಸರಿಸಿತ್ತು. ಭಾರತ ಸಂಬೃದ್ಧ, ಸಂಪದ್ಭರಿತ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರವಾಗಿ ಜಗತ್ತಿಗೆ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರದ ಕಲ್ಪನೆ ಬಿತ್ತಿದ ಪರಿಣಾಮವೇ ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಶದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅನೇಕರಿಂದ ದಾಳಿಗಳು ಸಂಭವಿಸಿವೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಘಟನೆಗಳು, ಹಲವಾರು ಜನರ ಬಲಿದಾನದಿಂದ ಬಂದಿರುವುದಾಗಿದೆ. ದೇಶಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕ್ರಾಂತಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ರಕ್ತ ಚೆಲ್ಲಿದ ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಿಸಿದ ಪೀಳಿಗೆ ನಿಮ್ಮದು. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಹೋರಾಟಗಾರರ ಬಲಿದಾನದ ನೆನಪು ಮಾಸದಂತೆ ಅವರ ಆದರ್ಶ ಪಾಲಿಸುವಂತವರಾಗಬೇಕು.
ಇಂದು ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಪಿಎಸ್.ಸಿ, ಯುಪಿಎಸ್.ಸಿ. ನೀಟ್ ಹಗರಣಗಳು ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಭಾವನೆಗೆ ಘಾಸಿಗೊಳಿಸಿದೆ. ಇವೆಲ್ಲ ಸಂಕುಚಿತ ಮನೋಭಾವದ ಭಾಗವಾಗಿದೆ. ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸ್ವೇಚ್ಛಾಚಾರವಾಗಿ ಬಳಸಿ, ದೇಶ ವಿಭಜಿಸುವ ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಬಲಿಯಾಗಬೇಡಿ. ನಿಮ್ಮತನವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಪ್ರತಿನಿತ್ಯ ಭಾರತ ಮಾತೆಗೆ ಗೌರವಿಸುವ ಮನೋಭಾವ ನಿಮ್ಮದಾಗಲಿ ಎಂದು ಕರೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಪ್ರಜ್ವಲ್ ಕೆ.ರೈ, ಖಜಾಂಚಿ ಕಾಶೀನಾಥ ಎಂ.ಕೆ., ಟ್ರಸ್ಟಿ ರೇಷ್ಮಾ ಸುಭಾಶ್ಚಂದ್ರ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ, ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ಬಾಲಕೃಷ್ಣ ನಾಯಕ್ ಹಾಗೂ ವಿಭಾಗ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರು, ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಕರು, ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಗಳು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
ಆದಿತ್ಯ ತುಬಾಕಿ ಮತ್ತು ತಂಡದಿಂದ ಧ್ವಜವಂದನೆ ನೆರವೇರಿತು. ವಿಕಸಿತ ಭಾರತ ಎಂಬ ವಿಚಾರವಾಗಿ ಸಾಯಿಜಿತ್ ಹೆಗಡೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು. ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ವಿಚಾರವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಪಿಯುಸಿ ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ವಿಭಾಗದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ರಚಿಸಿದ ಭಿತ್ತಿಚಿತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ವೇದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅನಾವರಣಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಬಳಿಕ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ದೇಶಭಕ್ತಿ ಸಾರುವ ವಿವಿಧ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟರು.
ದ್ವಿತೀಯ ಪಿಯುಸಿ ಜೆಇಇ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಸೇತುರಾಮ್ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು. ಕನ್ನಡ ವಿಭಾಗ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಾದ ನೀಲಕಂಠ ವಂದಿಸಿದರು. ವಿವಿಧ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರು, ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಕ ವರ್ಗ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಸಂಘಟಿಸಿದರು.

Students urged to strive to become responsible citizens of a progressive India
Belthangady: Students should make the best use of education and strive to become responsible citizens who contribute to the growth and development of a progressive India, said Subhash Chandra Shetty, president of Vidvath PU College, Guruvayanakere.
He was speaking after hoisting the national flag and presiding over the 80th Independence Day celebrations at Vidvath PU College, Guruvayanakere, on Saturday.
Shetty said India’s freedom was the result of the immense sacrifices, struggles and hardships endured by thousands of freedom fighters. Parents enrol their children in good educational institutions so that they can have better opportunities in life, but students must also understand their responsibilities and make constructive use of their valuable time.
He urged students to develop a strong sense of patriotism and prepare themselves to become the backbone of the country’s growth in every sphere.
Remember the sacrifices of freedom fighters
Educational Director Gangadhar E Mandagalale said India had been known across the world for its prosperity and wealth even before the concept of a united India took shape. The country’s rich resources and flourishing trade attracted several invasions over the centuries, he said.
“India’s freedom was achieved through thousands of struggles, events and sacrifices. The present generation has been born on the very soil where revolutionaries shed their blood for the country. Therefore, students must ensure that the memory of the freedom fighters and their sacrifices never fades and should strive to follow their ideals,” he said.
Referring to irregularities and controversies surrounding competitive examinations, including KPSC, UPSC and NEET, he said such incidents could hurt the aspirations and sentiments of students. He urged students not to misuse the freedom they enjoy and not to fall prey to divisive tendencies.
He called upon the students to preserve their individuality and develop a sense of responsibility towards the nation, while respecting India’s unity and integrity.
Institution Secretary Prajwal K Rai, Treasurer Kashinath M K, Trustee Reshma Subhash Chandra Shetty, Principal Balakrishna Nayak, heads of various departments, faculty members and staff were present.
Aditya Tubaki and his team presented the flag salutation. Saijith Hegde spoke on the theme ‘Viksit Bharat’. Posters prepared by first-year PU Commerce students on the theme of Independence were unveiled during the programme.
Students later presented a variety of patriotic cultural programmes. Sethuram of the second PU JEE section compered the programme, while Neelakantha, Head of the Kannada Department, proposed the vote of thanks. Heads of various departments and faculty members coordinated the programme.
