ಬಾರ್ಕೂರು; ಮೇರಿಕ್ನಾಲ್ ಹೈಯರ್ ಪ್ರೈಮರಿ ಶಾಲೆ, ಹೊಸಳ – ಬಾರ್ಕೂರು, ಮಂಗಳವಾರ, ಜೂನ್ 9, 2026 ರಂದು, 2026–27 ರ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಮವಸ್ತ್ರ ಮತ್ತು ನೋಟ್ಬುಕ್ಗಳನ್ನು ವಿತರಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂತೋಷದಾಯಕ ಸಂದರ್ಭಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಯಿತು.
ಸೇಂಟ್ ಪೀಟರ್ಸ್ ಅಸೋಸಿಯೇಷನ್ (SPA), ಬಾರ್ಕೂರು – ಮುಂಬೈ ಉದಾರವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಾಯೋಜಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಈ ಉದಾತ್ತ ಉಪಕ್ರಮವು ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಸತತ 30 ನೇ ವರ್ಷದ ಸಮರ್ಪಿತ ಬೆಂಬಲವನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿತು.
ಶಾಲಾ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಯಿತು, ಸಭೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ದೇವರ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದವನ್ನು ಕೋರಿದರು. ಮುಖ್ಯೋಪಾಧ್ಯಾಯಿನಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಜಾಯ್ಸ್ ವಂದನಾ ಡಿ’ಸಾ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಗಣ್ಯರು ಮತ್ತು ಅತಿಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಆತ್ಮೀಯ ಮತ್ತು ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು, ಮೆಚ್ಚುಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಯ ಸಂಕೇತವಾಗಿ ತಾಜಾ ಗುಲಾಬಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದರು.
ರೆವರೆಂಡ್ ಫಾದರ್. ಬಾರ್ಕೂರಿನ ಸೇಂಟ್ ಪೀಟರ್ಸ್ ಚರ್ಚ್ನ ವರದಿಗಾರ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷ್ ಪಾದ್ರಿ ರೊನಾಲ್ಡ್ ಮಿರಾಂಡಾ ಅವರು ಸಮಾರಂಭದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ಪೂರ್ತಿದಾಯಕ ಭಾಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ, ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇರೂರಿರುವ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ಅವರು ಎತ್ತಿ ತೋರಿಸಿದರು, SPA ಮುಂಬೈನ ಸ್ಥಿರವಾದ ಔದಾರ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಯುವ ಮನಸ್ಸುಗಳನ್ನು ಪೋಷಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಹಿತೈಷಿಗಳ ಸಾಮೂಹಿಕ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಗಳನ್ನು ಶ್ಲಾಘಿಸಿದರು.
ಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒದಗಿಸಲಾದ ಅವಕಾಶಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಉತ್ತಮವಾಗಿ ಬಳಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಅವರು ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಸಲಹೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಮೂಲತಃ ಆಹ್ವಾನಿತರಾದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಎಸ್. ಫೆರ್ನಾಂಡಿಸ್ ಅವರ ಅನುಪಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ, MHPS ಹಿರಿಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಸಂಘದ ಗೌರವಾನ್ವಿತ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ನಿವೃತ್ತ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕ ಆರ್ಚಿಬಾಲ್ಡ್ ಫುರ್ಟಾಡೊ ಅವರು ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಯಾಗಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ತಮ್ಮ ಒಳನೋಟವುಳ್ಳ ಭಾಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ, ಅವರು ಕನ್ನಡ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಬಲವನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು, ಕಳೆದ ಮೂರು ದಶಕಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇಂಟ್ ಪೀಟರ್ಸ್ ಅಸೋಸಿಯೇಷನ್ನ ಅಮೂಲ್ಯ ಕೊಡುಗೆಯನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು, ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು 1988 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ಬಲಪಡಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಹಳೆಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ನಿರಂತರ ಬೆಂಬಲ ಮತ್ತು ಉದಾರ ಕೊಡುಗೆಯನ್ನು ಅವರು ಶ್ಲಾಘಿಸಿದರು.
ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಪಿಟಿಎ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ, ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತ ಶ್ರೀ ಶಂಕರ್ ಶಾಂತಿ, ಶಾಲೆಯ ಪ್ರಗತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ಣ ಹೃದಯದ ಬೆಂಬಲ ಮತ್ತು ಸಹಕಾರವನ್ನು ಭರವಸೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಎಸ್ಪಿಎ ಮುಂಬೈನ ಮಾಜಿ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಶ್ರೀ ನಾರ್ಮನ್ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜಾ; ಜಿಬಿಸಿಟಿಯ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟಿ ಶ್ರೀ ದಿವ್ಯಾನಂದ್ ಗೊನ್ಸಾಲ್ವೆಸ್; ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷ್ ಪ್ಯಾಸ್ಟರಲ್ ಕೌನ್ಸಿಲ್ನ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಸಬಿತಾ ಪಿಕಾರ್ಡೊ; ಮತ್ತು ಪಿಟಿಎ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಇತರ ಗಣ್ಯರು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರು, ಇತರ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಸಮವಸ್ತ್ರ ಮತ್ತು ನೋಟ್ಬುಕ್ಗಳನ್ನು ವಿತರಿಸಿದರು, ಅವರ ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ನಗು ಮತ್ತು ಸಂತೋಷವನ್ನು ತರುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಬೋಧನಾ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ನಿಖರವಾಗಿ ಯೋಜಿಸಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಶಿಕ್ಷಕಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಡಿಂಪಲ್ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜಾ ಅವರು ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು, ಪ್ರಾಯೋಜಕರು, ಅತಿಥಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಯಶಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಕಾರಣರಾದ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಯನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗೀತೆ ಹಾಡುವುದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಔಪಚಾರಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಮುಕ್ತಾಯವಾಯಿತು.
ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಹೊಸ ಸಮವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳು, ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ ನೋಟ್ಬುಕ್ಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಲೇಖನ ಸಾಮಗ್ರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ಸಂತೋಷದಿಂದ ಮನೆಗೆ ಮರಳಿದರು, ಇದು ನಿಜವಾದ ಕಾಳಜಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮುದಾಯ ಬೆಂಬಲವನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಬಿಂಬಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಯುವ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಮತ್ತು ಯೋಗಕ್ಷೇಮದ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಉದಾರತೆ, ಏಕತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಬದ್ಧತೆಗೆ ಒಂದು ಉಜ್ವಲ ಉದಾಹರಣೆಯಾಗಿತ್ತು.
Distribution of uniforms and notebooks at Maryknal Higher Primary School, Barkur; Hosala
Barkur;Maryknoll Higher Primary School, Hosala – Barkur, witnessed a meaningful and joyful occasion on Tuesday, 9th June 2026, with the Distribution of Uniforms and Notebooks to all students for the academic year 2026–27.
This noble initiative, generously sponsored by St. Peter’s Association (SPA), Barkur – Mumbai, marked its 30th consecutive year of dedicated support to the institution.
The programme commenced at 10.30 am with a prayer led by the school children, invoking God’s blessings on the gathering. The Headmistress, Ms. Joyce Vandana D’Sa, extended a warm and cordial welcome to all dignitaries and guests, presenting fresh roses as a token of appreciation and gratitude.
Rev. Fr. Ronald Miranda, Correspondent and Parish Priest of St. Peter’s Church, Barkur, presided over the function. In his inspiring address, he highlighted the importance of education rooted in values, appreciating the consistent generosity of SPA Mumbai and the collective efforts of teachers and well-wishers in nurturing young minds.

In the absence of the originally invited Chief Guest, Mr. Joseph S. Fernandes, the occasion was graced by Retired Professor Archibald Furtado, the Hon Secretary of MHPS Senior Students Association, as the Chief Guest. In his insightful speech, he emphasized the relevance and strength of Kannada medium primary education, recalling the invaluable contribution of St. Peter’s Association over the last three decades, of which he was founder Secretary in 1988…. He also acknowledged the continued support and generous contribution of old students in strengthening the institution.
Mr. Shankar Shanthi, the newly elected PTA President, a social activist spoke on the occasion and assured his wholehearted support and cooperation for the progress and welfare of the school.
Other distinguished dignitaries present included Mr. Norman D’Souza, former Vice President of SPA Mumbai; Mr. Divyanand Gonsalves, Trustee of GBCT; Ms. Sabitha Picardo, Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council; and the Secretary of the PTA. They, along with other guests, distributed uniforms and notebooks to all the children, bringing smiles and joy to their faces.
The programme was meticulously planned and organized by the teaching staff. Teacher Ms. Dimple D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the sponsors, guests, and all those who contributed to the success of the event.
The formal programme concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
The children returned home happily, carrying new uniforms, quality notebooks, and stationery, reflecting the true spirit of care and community support.
The event stood as a shining example of generosity, unity, and commitment towards the education and well-being of young students.
