ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಪುರ; ಸಂತೆಕಟ್ಟೆ ಮೌಂಟ್ ರೋಸರಿ ಮಿಲೇನಿಯಂ ಆಡಿಟೋರಿಯಂ, ಡಿಸೆಂಬರ್ 18, 2025 ರ ಸಂಜೆ ಸೌಹಾರ್ದ ಕೂಟ ಎಂದು ಜನಪ್ರಿಯವಾಗಿ ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಡುವ ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣ ಅಂತರ-ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ಮಸ್ ಆಚರಣೆ – 2025 ಅನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಮರಸ್ಯದ ನೋಟವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿತ್ತು. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳ ನಡುವಿನ ಏಕತೆ, ಶಾಂತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಗೌರವಕ್ಕೆ ಒಂದು ಉಜ್ವಲ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿತ್ತು.
ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಜೊವಿತಾ ಫೆರ್ನಾಂಡಿಸ್ ನೇತೃತ್ವದ ಮೌಂಟ್ ರೋಸರಿ ಚರ್ಚ್ ಗಾಯಕವೃಂದವು ದೇವರ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದವನ್ನು ಕೋರುತ್ತಾ ಹಾಡುವ ಗಂಭೀರ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನಾ ಸ್ತುತಿಗೀತೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಯಿತು. ಇದರ ನಂತರ ಮೌಂಟ್ ರೋಸರಿ ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ಪ್ರೌಢಶಾಲೆಯ ಪ್ರತಿಭಾನ್ವಿತ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತಪಡಿಸಿದ ಆಕರ್ಷಕ ಸ್ವಾಗತ ನೃತ್ಯವು ಸಂಜೆಗೆ ಸಂತೋಷದಾಯಕ ಮತ್ತು ರೋಮಾಂಚಕ ಸ್ವರವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿತು.
ಮೌಂಟ್ ರೋಸರಿ ಚರ್ಚ್ನ ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷ್ ಪ್ಯಾಸ್ಟೋರಲ್ ಕೌನ್ಸಿಲ್ನ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಪ್ರಿಯಾ ಫುರ್ಟಾಡೊ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಪರಿಣಾಮಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಜೆಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರನ್ನು ಸರಾಗವಾಗಿ ಮುನ್ನಡೆಸಿದರು.
ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಪುರದ ಸಂತೆಕಟ್ಟೆಯ ಮೌಂಟ್ ರೋಸರಿ ಚರ್ಚ್ನ ಧರ್ಮಗುರೊ ಅ. ವಂ. ಡಾ. ರೋಕ್ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜಾ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ತಮ್ಮ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೀಯ ಭಾಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ, ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಅವರು ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಗಳನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭವನ್ನು ಅಲಂಕರಿಸಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಆಹ್ವಾನಿತರು ಮತ್ತು ಗಣ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು. ಆಚರಣೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲಿಸುವ ಸಾಮರಸ್ಯದ ಮನೋಭಾವವನ್ನು ಅವರು ಶ್ಲಾಘಿಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ಮಸ್ ಶುಭಾಶಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕೋರಿದರು.
ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಎಸ್.ಎಂ. ಇರ್ಷಾದ್, ನೇಜರ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕ್ಯಾಥೋಲಿಕ್ ಸಭಾದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಶ್ರೀ ಆರ್ಚಿಬಾಲ್ಡ್ ಫುರ್ಟಾಡೊ ಔಪಚಾರಿಕವಾಗಿ ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಿದರು. ಉಡುಪಿ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಒಕ್ಕೂಟದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಶ್ರೀ ಇರ್ಷಾದ್, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಧರ್ಮಗಳು ಸಾಮರಸ್ಯ, ಶಾಂತಿಯುತ ಸಹಬಾಳ್ವೆ ಮತ್ತು “ಬದುಕಿ ಮತ್ತು ಬದುಕಲು ಬಿಡಿ” ಎಂಬ ತತ್ವವನ್ನು ಕಲಿಸುತ್ತವೆ ಎಂದು ತಮ್ಮ ಭಾಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಎತ್ತಿ ತೋರಿಸಿದರು. ಸಾರ್ವತ್ರಿಕ ಸಹೋದರತ್ವದ ತೊಟ್ಟಿಲು ಭಾರತವು ಭಗವಾನ್ ರಾಮ, ಯೇಸುಕ್ರಿಸ್ತ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರವಾದಿ ಮುಹಮ್ಮದ್ ಅವರು ಪ್ರತಿಪಾದಿಸಿದ ಈ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಎತ್ತಿಹಿಡಿದಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಕೋಮು ಸಾಮರಸ್ಯವನ್ನು ಬಲಪಡಿಸಲು ಇಂತಹ ಅಂತರ್-ಧರ್ಮೀಯ ಸಭೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರು ಶ್ಲಾಘಿಸಿದರು.
ಪಕ್ಕಿಬೆಟ್ಟು ಗರೋಡಿಯ ಆಡಳಿತಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ಪೂಜಾರಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷ್ನ 20 ಆಯೋಗಗಳ ಸಂಯೋಜಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ವಲೇರಿಯನ್ ಫೆರ್ನಾಂಡಿಸ್ ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಿದರು. ಸಭೆಯನ್ನುದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಶ್ರೀ ಪೂಜಾರಿ, ಈ ಪ್ರದೇಶವು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಏಕತೆ, ಭ್ರಾತೃತ್ವ ಮತ್ತು ಶಾಂತಿಯುತ ಸಹಬಾಳ್ವೆಗೆ ಹೆಸರುವಾಸಿಯಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಕ್ರಿಸ್ಮಸ್ನಂತಹ ಆಚರಣೆಗಳು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಬಂಧಗಳನ್ನು ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಬಲಪಡಿಸುತ್ತವೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅಂತಹ ಸಾಮರಸ್ಯವು ಮುಂದುವರಿಯುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಆಶಾವಾದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
ಮೌಂಟ್ ರೋಸರಿ ಚರ್ಚ್ನ ಸಹಾಯಕ ಧರ್ಮಗುರು ವಂ. ರೋಹನ್ ಮಸ್ಕರೆನ್ಹಸ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷ್ ಪ್ಯಾಸ್ಟರಲ್ ಕೌನ್ಸಿಲ್ನ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಶ್ರೀ ಲ್ಯೂಕ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಿದರು. ತಮ್ಮ ಒಳನೋಟವುಳ್ಳ ಸಂದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ, ಫಾದರ್ ರೋಹನ್ ಮೂರು ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಸದ್ಗುಣಗಳನ್ನು ಅಳವಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟ ಕರೆ ನೀಡಿದರು: ಪ್ರೀತಿ, ತನ್ನೊಳಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮುದಾಯದೊಳಗೆ ಶಾಂತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಸವಲತ್ತು ಹೊಂದಿರುವವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹಂಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು. ಅವರು ಹಾಜರಿದ್ದ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ಮಸ್ ಶುಭಾಶಯಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ಸಂಜೆಯ ವಿಶೇಷ ಮತ್ತು ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯ ಕ್ಷಣವೆಂದರೆ ಉಡುಪಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ – 2025 ಪುರಸ್ಕೃತ ಶ್ರೀ ವಿಠಲ್ ಪೂಜಾರಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಪಂಚಾಯತ್ ಸದಸ್ಯ ಶ್ರೀ ಬ್ಯಾಪ್ಟಿಸ್ಟ್ ಡಯಾಸ್ ಅವರು ಗೌರವವನ್ನು ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಿದರು. ಮೂಡುಬೆಟ್ಟುವಿನ ಪ್ರಗತಿಗೆ ಅವರು ನೀಡಿದ ಗಮನಾರ್ಹ ಕೊಡುಗೆಯನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿ ಶ್ರೀ ವಿಠಲ ಪೂಜಾರಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ಶಾಲು, ಹಾರ, ಹಣ್ಣಿನ ಬುಟ್ಟಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ಮರಣಿಕೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಸತತ ಐದು ಅವಧಿಗೆ ಸಮರ್ಪಿತ ಪಂಚಾಯತ್ ಸದಸ್ಯರಾಗಿ, ಅವರು ಜಾತಿ, ಧರ್ಮ ಮತ್ತು ಧರ್ಮವನ್ನು ಮೀರಿ ಸಮಾಜಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಸ್ವಾರ್ಥವಾಗಿ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಮನೆಗೆ ರಸ್ತೆ ಸಂಪರ್ಕವನ್ನು ಖಚಿತಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಪಾತ್ರ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ವಿಭಾಗವು ಆಚರಣೆಗೆ ಬಣ್ಣ ಮತ್ತು ಆಳವಾದ ಅರ್ಥವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿತು. ಸ್ತ್ರೀ ಸಂಘಟನೆಯ ಉತ್ಸಾಹಿ ಸದಸ್ಯರಾದ ಮೌಂಟ್ ರೋಸರಿಯಿಂದ ಸುಂದರವಾದ ಮತ್ತು ಶಕ್ತಿಯುತವಾದ ಸ್ವಾಗತ ನೃತ್ಯವು ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರಿಂದ ಬೆಚ್ಚಗಿನ ಚಪ್ಪಾಳೆ ಗಿಟ್ಟಿಸಿತು. ಇದರ ನಂತರ ಕ್ಯಾಥೋಲಿಕ್ ಸಭಾ ಸದಸ್ಯರು ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತಪಡಿಸಿದ ಬಲವಾದ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ಮಸ್ ಸಂದೇಶವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಚಿಂತನಶೀಲ ಕಿರುನಾಟಕವು ನಡೆಯಿತು. ಉತ್ಸಾಹಭರಿತ ಐಸಿವೈಎಂ ಮತ್ತು ವೈಸಿಎಸ್ ಯುವಕರ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಂತಾಕ್ಲಾಸ್ ಅವರ ಸಂತೋಷದಾಯಕ ಕ್ಯಾರೋಲ್ ಗಾಯನದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಉತ್ಸಾಹವು ಉತ್ತುಂಗಕ್ಕೇರಿತು, ಯುವಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಹಿರಿಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಹರ್ಷೋದ್ಗಾರ ಹರಡಿತು.
ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಾ ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ಮಸ್ ಕೇಕ್ ಕತ್ತರಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಗುರುತಿಸಲಾಯಿತು, ಇದನ್ನು ಹಾಜರಿದ್ದ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ತಂಪು ಪಾನೀಯಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂತೋಷದಿಂದ ವಿತರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ಸ್ಪರ್ಶವನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಯಾರಿಸಿದ ಕುಸ್ವರ್ ಪ್ಯಾಕೆಟ್ಗಳನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳು ಮನೆಗೆ ಕೊಂಡೊಯ್ಯಲು ಚಿಂತನಶೀಲವಾಗಿ ಜೋಡಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು, ಇದು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ಮಸ್ನ ಉಷ್ಣತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಹಂಚಿಕೆಯ ಮನೋಭಾವವನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಬಿಂಬಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
ಅಂತರ್-ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಸಾಮರಸ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆ ಆಯೋಗದ ಸಂಚಾಲಕ ಶ್ರೀ ಪೀಟರ್ ಲೂಯಿಸ್ ಅವರು ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು, ಅವರು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಂಘಟಕರು, ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವವರು ಮತ್ತು ಅತಿಥಿಗಳ ಸಹಕಾರ ಮತ್ತು ಬೆಂಬಲವನ್ನು ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಯಿಂದ ಶ್ಲಾಘಿಸಿದರು.
ವೇದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಗಣ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಗೊರೆಟ್ಟಿ ಕಾನ್ವೆಂಟ್ನ ಸುಪೀರಿಯರ್ ಸಿಸ್ಟ್ರ್ ಎಲ್ವೀನಾ, ಸ್ತ್ರೀ ಸಂಘಟನ್ನ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಮೋನಿಕಾ ಕರ್ನೆಲಿಯೊ; ಮತ್ತು ಐಸಿವೈಎಂ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೆ ಶ್ರೀ ರೂಬೆನ್ ಡಿ’ಮೆಲ್ಲೊ ಊಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದರು.
ಸಂತೋಷ, ಸಹಭಾಗಿತ್ವ ಮತ್ತು ಸದ್ಭಾವನೆಯ ಟಿಪ್ಪಣಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕೊನೆಗೊಂಡಿತು, ಶಾಂತಿ, ಏಕತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಮರಸ್ಯದ ಬಲವಾದ ಸಂದೇಶದ ಜೊತೆ, ಕ್ರಿಸ್ಮಸ್ನ ಚೈತನ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಅಂತರ-ಧರ್ಮೀಯ ಸಹೋದರತ್ವವನ್ನು ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ ಪ್ರತಿಬಿಂಬಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
Inter-Religious Christmas Celebration at Mount Rosary Millennium Auditorium
Mount Rosary Millennium Auditorium, Santhekatte – Kallianpur, wore a festive and harmonious look as it hosted a meaningful Inter-Religious Christmas Celebration – 2025, popularly known as Sauharda Koota, on the evening of 18th December 2025. The programme stood as a glowing testimony to unity, peace and mutual respect among communities.
The programme commenced with a solemn prayer hymn rendered by the Mount Rosary Church Choir, led by Mrs. Jovita Fernandes, invoking God’s blessings on the gathering. This was followed by a graceful welcome dance presented by the talented children of Mount Rosary English Medium High School, which set a joyful and vibrant tone for the evening.
Mrs. Priya Furtado, Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council, Mount Rosary Church, efficiently compered the programme and guided the audience smoothly through the evening’s events.
The celebration was presided over by Rev. Dr. Roque D’Souza, Parish Priest of Mount Rosary Church, Santhekatte – Kallianpur. In his presidential address, he expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all those involved in organising the programme and warmly thanked all invitees and distinguished guests for gracing the occasion. He appreciated the spirit of harmony reflected through the celebration and wished everyone a meaningful Christmas.
The Chief Guest, Mr. S. M. Irshad, Nejar, was formally introduced by Mr. Archibald Furtado, the President of the Catholic Sabha. In his address, Mr. Irshad, the President of Muslim Okkuta, Udupi Taluk, highlighted that all religions teach harmony, peaceful coexistence and the principle of “live and let live.” He remarked that India, being the cradle of universal brotherhood, has always upheld these values, as propagated by Lord Rama, Jesus Christ and Prophet Muhammad. He lauded such inter-religious gatherings for strengthening communal harmony.
Mr. Prakash Poojary, Administrator of Pakkibettu Garodi, was introduced by Mr. Valerian Fernandes, Coordinator of the 20 Commissions of the parish. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Poojary shared that the region has always been known for unity, fraternity and peaceful coexistence. He noted that celebrations like Christmas further strengthen social bonds and expressed optimism that such harmony would continue to flourish.
Rev. Fr. Rohan Muscarenhas, Assistant Parish Priest of Mount Rosary Church, was introduced by Mr. Luke D’Souza, Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council. In his insightful message, Fr. Rohan gave a clarion call to imbibe three important virtues: love, peace within oneself and within the community, and sharing with the less privileged. He conveyed his heartfelt Christmas greetings to all present.
A special and proud moment of the evening was the felicitation of Mr. Vittal Poojary, recipient of the Udupi District Rajyotsav Award – 2025. The honour was introduced by Mr. Baptist Dias, Panchayat Member. Mr. Vittal Poojary was felicitated with a traditional shawl, garland, fruit basket and memento in recognition of his remarkable contribution to the progress of Moodubettu. As a dedicated Panchayat member for five consecutive terms, he has served society selflessly, cutting across caste, creed and religion, and has played a pivotal role in ensuring road connectivity to every household in the region.
The cultural segment added colour and deeper meaning to the celebration. A beautiful and energetic welcome dance by the enthusiastic members of Stree Sanghatan, Mount Rosary, won warm applause from the audience. This was followed by a thought-provoking skit carrying a strong Christmas message, presented by the Catholic Sabha members. The festive spirit reached its peak with joyful carol singing accompanied by Santa Claus, led by the enthusiastic ICYM and YCS youth, spreading cheer among young and old alike.
The inaugural ceremony was marked by the cutting of the Christmas cake, which was joyfully distributed along with soft drinks to all present. Adding a traditional touch, homemade Kuswar packets were thoughtfully arranged for all guests to carry home, reflecting the warmth and sharing spirit of Christmas.
The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Peter Lewis, Convenor of the Commission for Inter-Religious Harmony and Understanding, who gratefully acknowledged the cooperation and support of all organisers, participants and guests.
Dignitaries present on the dais included all the above guests along with Sr. Elveena, Superior of Gorettee Convent; Mrs Monica Carnelio, Secretary of Stree Sanghatan; and Mr. Reuben D’Mello, President of ICYM.
The evening ended on a note of joy, fellowship and goodwill, leaving behind a strong message of peace, unity and harmony, truly reflecting the spirit of Christmas and inter-religious brotherhood.
