ದಿನಾಂಕ 21/12/2025, ಆದಿತ್ಯವಾರ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ಘಂಟೆ 9ಕ್ಕೆ, ತಲ್ಲೂರು ಚರ್ಚ್ ಸಭಾಂಗಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಥೋಲಿಕ್ ಸಭಾ ಉಡುಪಿ ಪ್ರದೇಶ ತಲ್ಲೂರು ಘಟಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಅಂತರಧರ್ಮೀಯ ಆಯೋಗದ ಸಹಯೋಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ಮಸ್ ಸೌಹಾರ್ದ ಕೂಟ ಜರುಗಿತು.
ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ಚರ್ಚಿನ ಧರ್ಮಗುರುಗಳಾದ ವಂದನೀಯ ಬಾ. ಎಡ್ವಿನ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ ಅವರು ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಭಾಸ್ಕರ್ ಕೊಗ್ಗ ಕಾಮತ್, ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು – ಉಪ್ಪಿನಕುದ್ರು ಶ್ರೀ ದೇವಣ್ಣ ಪದ್ಮನಾಭ ಕಾಮತ್ ಮೆಮೋರಿಯಲ್ ಯಕ್ಷಗಾನ ಗೊಂಬೆಯಾಟ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್;
ಶ್ರೀ ಯಾಕೂಬ್ ಖಾದರ್ ಗುಲ್ವಾಡಿ, ಸಾಹಿತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರು;
ಶ್ರೀ ವಿನೋದ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ಟೋ, ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು – ಕುಂದಾಪುರ ನಗರ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಪ್ರಾಧಿಕಾರ, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರ, ಇವರುಗಳು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
ಶ್ರೀ ಭಾಸ್ಕರ್ ಕೊಗ್ಗ ಕಾಮತ್ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, “ಸೌಹಾರ್ದತೆ ಎಂದರೆ ಈ ಚರ್ಚಿನ ಧರ್ಮಗುರುಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಸೌಭಾಗ್ಯ. ನಾನು ಒಬ್ಬ ಸಾಧಾರಣ ಕಲಾವಿದ. ನೀವು ನೋಡಿರದ ಅನೇಕ ಇಗರ್ಜಿಗಳನ್ನು ನಾನು ನೋಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಪ್ರವಾಸದ ವೇಳೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸಿ ಆತಿಥ್ಯ ನೀಡಿದವರು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತರೇ. ಇದೇ ನಿಜವಾದ ಸೌಹಾರ್ದತೆ. ಸೌಹಾರ್ದತೆ ಆಚರಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣಬೇಕು; ಅದು ನಮ್ಮ ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಸಾಧನೆಯಲ್ಲ, ನಮ್ಮ ಹಿರಿಯರ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯದ ಸಾಧನೆ. ಗುರು–ಶಿಷ್ಯ ಪರಂಪರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಡಗಿರುವ ದೃಢಸಂಕಲ್ಪ, ನಿಷ್ಠೆ ಮತ್ತು ಶಿಸ್ತು ಎಂಬ ಮೂರು ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ನಾನು ಪ್ರಪಂಚದ ಸೌಹಾರ್ದತೆಯನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಕ್ರಿಸ್ಮಸ್ ಎಂದರೆ ಸೌಹಾರ್ದತೆಯ ಬೆಳಕು. ಬೆಳಕು ಹಿಂದೂ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಜ್ಞಾನದ ಸಂಕೇತ. ದೀಪವು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಕೆಳಮುಖವಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಈ ತತ್ವವನ್ನು ಅರಿತರೆ ಸೌಹಾರ್ದತೆಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಮಹತ್ವ ಸಿಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಇಂದಿನ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಬಂಧಗಳು ದೂರವಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಇಂತಹ ಸೌಹಾರ್ದತೆಯ ಚಿಂತನೆಗಳು ಗುರುಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಸಮಾಜಕ್ಕೆ ತಲುಪಬೇಕು. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಕಂಡಿರುವ ಗುರುಪರಂಪರೆ ಅಪರೂಪದದ್ದು” ಎಂದು ಸಂದೇಶ ನೀಡಿ ಸರ್ವರಿಗೂ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ಮಸ್ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಶುಭಾಶಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕೋರಿದರು.
ಶ್ರೀ ಯಾಕೂಬ್ ಖಾದರ್ ಗುಲ್ವಾಡಿ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, “ಕ್ರಿಸ್ಮಸ್ ಪ್ರೀತಿ, ಶಾಂತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಹಬಾಳ್ವೆಯ ಹಬ್ಬ. ಇಂದಿನ ಜಗತ್ತಿಗೆ ಶಾಂತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಹಬಾಳ್ವೆ ಅತ್ಯಗತ್ಯ. ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತರು ಜಗತ್ತಿಗೆ ಸಾರಿದ ಸಂದೇಶ ಶಾಂತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕರುಣೆ. ಕ್ರಿಸ್ಮಸ್ ಹಬ್ಬ ಹಂಚಿ ತಿನ್ನುವ ಪಾಠ ಕಲಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಸೌಹಾರ್ದತೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಮಾತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲ, ನಮ್ಮ ನಡತೆಯಲ್ಲೂ ಇರಬೇಕು. ಕಷ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿರುವವರಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯಹಸ್ತ ನೀಡುವುದೇ ನಿಜವಾದ ಸೌಹಾರ್ದತೆ. ಜಾತಿ–ಧರ್ಮ ಮರೆತು ಮಾನವತ್ವ ಮೆರೆದಾಗಲೇ ನಿಜವಾದ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ಮಸ್ ಆಚರಣೆ ಸಾಧ್ಯ. ಕತ್ತಲೆಯನ್ನು ದೂರ ಮಾಡಿ ಬೆಳಕು ನೀಡುವ ನಕ್ಷತ್ರದಂತೆ, ಕ್ರಿಸ್ಮಸ್ ಪ್ರೀತಿ ನಮ್ಮ ನಡುವಿನ ಭೇದಗಳನ್ನು ನಿವಾರಿಸಲಿ. ನಾವು ಅಕ್ಕ–ಅಣ್ಣ–ತಮ್ಮ–ತಂಗಿಯರಂತೆ ಸೌಹಾರ್ದತೆಯಿಂದ ಬದುಕೋಣ” ಎಂದು ಹಬ್ಬದ ಶುಭಾಶಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕೋರಿದರು.
ಶ್ರೀ ವಿನೋದ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ಟೋ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, “ಈ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂಲಭೂತ ಸೌಕರ್ಯಗಳಿವೆ, ಆದರೆ ಸಹನೆ ಕೊರತೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಸಹನೆ ಇದ್ದರೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಊರು ಉತ್ತಮವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ನೆರೆಹೊರೆಯವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತಮ ಬಾಂಧವ್ಯ ಇರಬೇಕು. ಅವರ ಕಷ್ಟಗಳಿಗೆ ಸ್ಪಂದಿಸಿದಾಗ ಮಾತ್ರ ನಾವು ಆಚರಿಸುವ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ಮಸ್ ಹಬ್ಬಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಜವಾದ ಅರ್ಥ ಸಿಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಸೌಹಾರ್ದತೆ ನಮ್ಮ ದಿನನಿತ್ಯದ ಜೀವನದ ಭಾಗವಾಗಬೇಕು. ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಸೌಹಾರ್ದತೆಯ ಬೆಳಕು ನಮ್ಮ ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಹರಡಲಿ” ಎಂದು ಶುಭ ಕೋರಿದರು.
ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೀಯ ಭಾಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ ವಂದನೀಯ ಧರ್ಮಗುರುಗಳು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, “ಆಕಾಶದ ನಕ್ಷತ್ರದ ಬೆಳಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತರು ಹುಟ್ಟಿದರು. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಧರ್ಮ ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ನೆಲ ನೋಡಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತದೆ, ಅಂದರೆ ದೀನದಲಿತರ ಸೇವೆಗೆ ಮಹತ್ವ ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತರೆಂದರೆ ಬಡವರಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡುವವರು ಎಂಬ ಗುರುತಿದೆ. ಯೇಸು ಗೋದಲಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದರು. ದೀನದಲಿತರಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾನವನನ್ನು ಕಾಣಿರಿ, ದೇವರನ್ನು ಕಾಣಿರಿ ಎಂಬ ಸಂದೇಶವನ್ನು ಸಾರಿದ ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತರ ಧರ್ಮವನ್ನು ನಾವು ಪಾಲಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತರು ಹುಟ್ಟಿ ಇಂದಿಗೆ 2025 ವರ್ಷಗಳು ಪೂರ್ತಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಈ ಜುಬಿಲಿಯನ್ನು ಇಡೀ ಧರ್ಮಸಭೆ ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಮುಂದಿನ ವರ್ಷ 2026ನ್ನು ‘ಬಡವರ ವರ್ಷ’ವಾಗಿ ಆಚರಿಸಲು ನಮ್ಮ ಬಿಷಪ್ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಯವರು ಕರೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ” ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು ಹಾಗೂ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಿ ಗೌರವಿಸಿದರು.
ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲನಾ ಮಂಡಳಿಯ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು, ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಗಳು, ಆಯೋಗದ ಸಂಚಾಲಕರು, ಧರ್ಮಭಗಿನಿಯರು ಹಾಗೂ ಕಥೋಲಿಕ್ ಸಭಾ ಮತ್ತು ಅಂತರಧರ್ಮೀಯ ಆಯೋಗದ ಸದಸ್ಯರು ಹಾಜರಿದ್ದರು.
ಕಥೋಲಿಕ್ ಸಭಾ ತಲ್ಲೂರು ಘಟಕದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಅನಿಲ್ ಡಿಸಿಲ್ವ ಅವರು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು. ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಗ್ರವಿನ್ ಪಸನ್ನ ಅವರು ವಂದಿಸಿದರು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಸಂಚಾಲಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಜಮ್ಮ ಫೆರ್ನಾಂಡಿಸ್, ಸದಸ್ಯರಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಜುಲಿಯಾನ ಮೆಂಡೋನ್ಸ ಹಾಗೂ ಶ್ರೀ ಅರುಣ್ ಮೆಂಡೋನ್ಸಾ ಅವರು ಅತಿಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಿದರು.ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಜೂಡಿತ್ ಮೆಂಡೋನ್ಸಾರವರು ಕಾರ್ಯ ಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು.
ವೈ.ಸಿ.ಎಸ್. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿಸಿದರು. ಸುಮಾರು 200ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಮಂದಿ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಂಡರು.
Christmas Harmony Meet at St. Francis Assisi Church, Tallur
On Sunday, 21/12/2025 at 9.00 a.m., a Christmas Harmony Meet was held at the Tallur Church Hall jointly organized by the Catholic Sabha Udupi Region – Tallur Unit and the Interfaith Commission.
The programme was presided over by Rev. Fr. Edwin D’Souza, the parish priest.
The chief guests were Mr. Bhaskar Kogga Kamath, President, Uppinakudru Sri Devanna Padmanabha Kamath Memorial Yakshagana Gombeyata Trust;
Mr. Yakub Khader Gulwadi, writer and film director; and
Mr. Vinod Crasto, President, Kundapura Urban Development Authority, Government of Karnataka.
Mr. Bhaskar Kogga Kamath, in his address, said that harmony means the privilege of sitting together with the parish priest. Though he considers himself an ordinary artist, he has visited many churches and experienced great hospitality from Christians during his travels. This, he said, is true harmony. Harmony should be practiced, not merely spoken about. It is not an individual achievement but a legacy handed down through tradition. Through the values of determination, dedication, and discipline embedded in the guru–shishya tradition, he experienced harmony across the world. Christmas symbolizes the light of harmony. Light represents knowledge and never moves downward. Understanding this philosophy gives deeper meaning to harmony. In today’s world, where relationships are weakening, such values should be nurtured by teachers and guides. He conveyed Christmas greetings to all.
Mr. Yakub Khader Gulwadi stated that Christmas is a festival of love, peace, and coexistence, which the world needs today. Jesus Christ taught peace and compassion. Christmas teaches sharing. Harmony should be reflected in our actions, not just words. Helping those in need is true harmony. Only when humanity rises above caste and religion does Christmas find its true meaning. Like a star that removes darkness, Christmas love should eliminate divisions among us. He wished everyone a happy Christmas.
Mr. Vinod Crasto said that while basic facilities exist in the country, patience is lacking. If patience prevails, our communities will flourish. Good relationships with neighbours are essential. Only by supporting each other in difficult times does Christmas gain true meaning. Harmony should become part of our daily life, and he wished that its light spreads further in society.
In his presidential address, Rev. Fr. Edwin D’Souza said that Jesus was born under the light of a star, and hence Christianity always walks humbly, focusing on service to the poor and marginalized. Christians are known for helping the poor. Jesus was born in a manger and taught us to see God in the poor and the downtrodden. As 2025 marks the Jubilee year since the birth of Jesus Christ, the entire Church is celebrating it. He also informed that the Bishop has declared 2026 as the Year of the Poor.Parish priest honoured and felicitated all the chief guests.
Vice president and secretary of parish councils, commission coordinator, religious sisters, and members of the Catholic Sabha and Interfaith Commission were present.
Mr. Anil D’Silva, President of the Catholic Sabha Tallur Unit, welcomed the gathering. Secretary Mr. Gravin Pasanna proposed the vote of thanks. The programme coordinators Mrs. Jamma Fernandes, Mrs. Juliana Mendonca, and Mr. Arun Mendonca introduced the guests.Mrs.Judith Mendonca compered the program.
YCS students and children presented cultural programmes. More than 200 people participated in the event.
