ಉಡುಪಿ, 14 ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 2026: ಯುವಜನರು ಸೂಕ್ತ ವೃತ್ತಿ ಆಯ್ಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡುವ ಹಾಗೂ ಪೋಷಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಹದಿಹರೆಯದವರ ನಡುವಿನ ಸಂವಹನವನ್ನು ಬಲಪಡಿಸುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ, ಸೋಮವಾರ, 14 ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 2026 ರಂದು ಉಡುಪಿಯ ಮೌಂಟ್ ರೋಸರಿ ಚರ್ಚ್ನ ಮಿಲೇನಿಯಮ್ ಸಭಾಂಗಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣ ವೃತ್ತಿ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.
‘ಉಜ್ವಲ ಭವಿಷ್ಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಇಂದಿನ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನ’ ಎಂಬ ಧ್ಯೇಯವಾಕ್ಯದೊಂದಿಗೆ, ಮೌಂಟ್ ರೋಸರಿ ಚರ್ಚ್ನ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಆಯೋಗವು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಸಂವಹನ ಆಯೋಗ ಮತ್ತು ಕ್ಯಾಥೊಲಿಕ್ ಸಭಾದ ಸಹಯೋಗದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿತ್ತು. ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 9.00 ರಿಂದ 11.30 ರವರೆಗೆ ನಡೆದ ಈ ಮೂರು ಗಂಟೆಗಳ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರದಲ್ಲಿ, 10ನೇ ತರಗತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪಿಯು (PU) ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ 10 ರಿಂದ 12ನೇ ತರಗತಿಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಪೋಷಕರು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ಚರ್ಚ್ನ ಧರ್ಮಗುರುಗಳಾದ ರೆವ್. ಡಾ. ರೋಕ್ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜಾ ಅವರು ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರವನ್ನು ಅಧಿಕೃತವಾಗಿ ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿದರು. ತಮ್ಮ ಸಂದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ, ಯುವಜನರ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ವೃತ್ತಿಪರ ಭವಿಷ್ಯವನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಯೋಚಿತ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನದ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ಅವರು ಒತ್ತಿಹೇಳಿದರು. ವೃತ್ತಿಜೀವನದ ನಿರ್ಧಾರಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಾಗ ತಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆ, ಆಸಕ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸುವಂತೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸಿದ ಅವರು, ಪೋಷಕರು ತಮ್ಮ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಒತ್ತಡ ಹೇರುವ ಬದಲು ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ವರ್ತಿಸುವಂತೆ ಕರೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಆಯೋಗದ ಸಂಚಾಲಕಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಲವಿನಾ ಮೆನೆಜಸ್ ಅವರು ಸ್ವಾಗತ ಭಾಷಣ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಅವರು ಧರ್ಮಗುರುಗಳು, ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳು, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು, ಪೋಷಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಆತ್ಮೀಯವಾಗಿ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು. ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರದ ಉದ್ದೇಶವನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಿದ ಅವರು, ಇಂದು ಯುವಜನರಿಗೆ ಲಭ್ಯವಿರುವ ವ್ಯಾಪಕ ಅವಕಾಶಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಅರಿವು ಮೂಡಿಸುವ ಅಗತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಿಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಈ ಅಧಿವೇಶನಗಳನ್ನು ಇಬ್ಬರು ಅನುಭವಿ ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳು ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟರು. ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಸೇಂಟ್ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ಸ್ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಪ್ರೊ. ಕ್ಲೆಮೆಂಟ್ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜಾ ಅವರು ವೃತ್ತಿ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನದ ಕುರಿತು ಮೌಲ್ಯಯುತ ಮಾಹಿತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟತೆ, ಸಹಾನುಭೂತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಆತ್ಮ-ಅರಿವಿನೊಂದಿಗೆ ವೃತ್ತಿ ಆಯ್ಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಅವರು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಅಲ್ಲದೆ, ವಿವಿಧ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿವೇತನಗಳು, ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ವಿದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಲಿಯುವ ಅವಕಾಶಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ಅವರು ಉಪಯುಕ್ತ ಸಲಹೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಪುರದ ಮಿಲಾಗ್ರಿಸ್ ಪಿಯು ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ರೆವ್. ಫಾ. ಮೆಲ್ವಿನ್ ಮೆಂಡೋನ್ಸಾ ಎಸ್.ಜೆ. (SJ) ಅವರು ಪೋಷಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಹದಿಹರೆಯದವರ ನಡುವಿನ ಪರಿಣಾಮಕಾರಿ ಸಂವಹನದ ಮಹತ್ವದ ವಿಷಯದ ಕುರಿತು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು. ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು, ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಸಾಧಿಸುವುದು ಮತ್ತು ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆಯುವುದರ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವರ ಅಧಿವೇಶನವು ಕೇಂದ್ರೀಕೃತವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಪೋಷಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಯುವಜನರು ಪರಸ್ಪರರ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಆಲಿಸುವಂತೆ ಹಾಗೂ ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಗೌರವದ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಅವರು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸಿದರು.
ಈ ಅಧಿವೇಶನಗಳು ಸಂವಾದಾತ್ಮಕ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಾಯೋಗಿಕವಾಗಿದ್ದವು ಹಾಗೂ ಇಂದಿನ ವೇಗವಾಗಿ ಬದಲಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ವೃತ್ತಿಪರ ಪರಿಸರದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಪೋಷಕರು ಎದುರಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಸವಾಲುಗಳಿಗೆ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತವಾಗಿದ್ದವು. ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವವರು ವೃತ್ತಿಜೀವನದ ಯೋಜನೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಆರೋಗ್ಯಕರ ಕೌಟುಂಬಿಕ ಸಂವಹನದ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಕುರಿತು ಹೊಸ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಕೋನಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುವ ಅವಕಾಶವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದರು.
ವೇದಿಕೆಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಮೌಂಟ್ ರೋಸರಿ ಘಟಕದ ‘ಕ್ಯಾಥೊಲಿಕ್ ಸಭಾ’ದ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಮಾರ್ಗರೇಟ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ ಅವರು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಆತ್ಮೀಯತೆ ಮತ್ತು ದಕ್ಷತೆಯಿಂದ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿದರು.
ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹಾಯಕ ಧರ್ಮಗುರು ರೆವ್. ಫಾ. ರೋಹನ್ ಮಸ್ಕರೇನಸ್, ಮೌಂಟ್ ರೋಸರಿ ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ಪ್ರೌಢಶಾಲೆಯ ಮುಖ್ಯೋಪಾಧ್ಯಾಯಿನಿ ಸಿಸ್ಟರ್ ಆನ್ಸಿಲ್ಲಾ ರೋಶ್ನಿ ಡಿ’ಮೆಲ್ಲೊ, 20 ಧರ್ಮಪಾಲನಾ ಆಯೋಗಗಳ ಸಂಯೋಜಕ ಶ್ರೀ ವ್ಯಾಲೇರಿಯನ್ ಫರ್ನಾಂಡಿಸ್, ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಸಂವಹನ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಸಂಚಾಲಕ ಶ್ರೀ ರೂಬೆನ್ ರೆಬೆಲ್ಲೊ, ಐಸಿವೈಎಂ (ICYM) ಸಂಯೋಜಕ ಶ್ರೀ ಅರ್ನಾಲ್ಡ್ ರೋಚ್, ಚರ್ಚ್ನ ಮಾಸಪತ್ರಿಕೆ ‘ರೋಝರಿಚೊ ಗಾಂಚ್’ನ ಸಂಪಾದಕ ಶ್ರೀ ಮೈಕೆಲ್ ಮೆಂಡೋನ್ಸಾ, ಹಾಗೂ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಡೈಸಿ ಮೆಂಡೋನ್ಸಾ, ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಅನಿತಾ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ, ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಆಂಡ್ರಿಯಾ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಕ್ಯಾಥೊಲಿಕ್ ಸಭಾದ ವಿವಿಧ ಪದಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಇತರರು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
ಹತ್ತಿರದ ಮಿಲಾಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಚರ್ಚ್ನಿಂದಲೂ ಸುಮಾರು ಹನ್ನೆರಡಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಉತ್ಸಾಹಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವವರು ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
‘ಕ್ಯಾಥೊಲಿಕ್ ಸಭಾ’ದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಆರ್ಚಿಬಾಲ್ಡ್ ಫುರ್ಟಾಡೊ ಅವರು ವಂದನಾರ್ಪಣೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು. ಅವರು ಚರ್ಚ್ನ ಧರ್ಮಗುರುಗಳು, ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳು, ಸಂಘಟಕರು, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು, ಪೋಷಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಈ ವಿಚಾರ ಸಂಕಿರಣದ ಯಶಸ್ವಿ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆಗೆ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ನೀಡಿದ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ, ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ದಾನಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರಾಯೋಜಕರಾದ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಪುರದ ಲಯನ್ಸ್ ಕ್ಲಬ್ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಶ್ರೀ ವಿಲ್ಸನ್ ಫರ್ನಾಂಡಿಸ್ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು.
ಈ ವಿಚಾರ ಸಂಕಿರಣವು ಸಮಯೋಚಿತ ಮತ್ತು ಮೌಲ್ಯಯುತ ಉಪಕ್ರಮವೆಂದು ಸಾಬೀತಾಯಿತು; ಇದು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಭವಿಷ್ಯವನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಆತ್ಮವಿಶ್ವಾಸವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿತು ಮತ್ತು ಯಶಸ್ವಿ ವೃತ್ತಿಜೀವನದತ್ತಿನ ಪಯಣವು ಪರಸ್ಪರ ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆ, ಸಂವಹನ ಮತ್ತು ಸೂಕ್ತ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಪೋಷಕರಿಗೆ ನೆನಪಿಸಿತು.
‘ಅನ್ವೇಷಿಸಿ. ಕಲಿಯಿರಿ. ಆಯ್ಕೆಮಾಡಿ. ಬೆಳೆಯಿರಿ. ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ.’
ಈ ವಿಚಾರ ಸಂಕಿರಣದ ಸಂದೇಶವು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿತ್ತು: ಯುವ ಮನಸ್ಸುಗಳಿಗೆ ಸರಿಯಾದ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನ ಸಿಕ್ಕಾಗ ಮತ್ತು ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪರಸ್ಪರ ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯ ಸಂವಹನ ನಡೆದಾಗ, ಉಜ್ವಲ ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ ಹಾದಿಯು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

Udupi, 14 September 2026: A meaningful Career Counselling Seminar aimed at helping young people make informed career choices and strengthening communication between parents and teenagers was organised at the Millennium Auditorium, Mount Rosary Church, Udupi, on Monday, 14 September 2026.
The programme was hosted by the Education Commission, in collaboration with Social Communication Ayog and Catholic Sabha, Mount Rosary Church Unit, with the theme ‘Guiding Today for a Brighter Tomorrow.’ The three-hour seminar, held from 9.00 am to 11.30 am, brought together high school students, of Class X, PU students and parents of students from Classes X to XII.
The seminar was formally declared open by the Parish Priest, Rev. Dr Roque D’Souza, who in his crispy message highlighted the importance of timely guidance in shaping the educational and professional future of young people. He encouraged students to recognise their talents, interests and abilities while making career decisions, and urged parents to accompany their children with understanding rather than pressure.
The welcome address was delivered by Mrs Lavina Menezes, Convenor of the Education Commission, who warmly welcomed the Vicar, resource persons, students, parents and participants. She explained the purpose of the seminar and stressed the need for creating greater awareness among young people about the wide range of opportunities available to them today.
The sessions were led by two experienced resource persons. Prof Clement D’Souza St Joseph’s University, Bangalore, shared valuable insights on career guidance, helping students understand how to approach career choices with greater clarity, empathy and self-awareness.
He also shared valuable tips on various scholarships, Govt schemes, opportunities to learn abroad.. etc
Rev Fr Melwyn Mendonca SJ, Principal of Milagres PU College Kallianpur addressed the equally important theme of effective communication between parents and teenagers. His session focused on understanding, connecting and growing together, encouraging parents and young people to listen to one another and build relationships based on trust and mutual respect.
The sessions were interactive, practical and highly relevant to the challenges faced by students and parents in today’s rapidly changing educational and professional environment. The participants had an opportunity to gain fresh perspectives on career planning as well as the importance of healthy family communication.
The stage programme was beautifully compered by Mrs Margaret D’Souza, Secretary of the Catholic Sabha, Mount Rosary Unit, who conducted the proceedings with warmth and efficiency.
The programme was graced by Asst parish priest Rev Fr Rohan Mascarenhas, Head Mistress of Mount Rosary English Medium High School Sr Ancilla Roshni DMello, Mr Valerian Fernandes Coordinator of 20 Pastoral Commissions, Mr Reuben Rebello convenor of Social Communication, Mr Arnold Roche, Animater of ICYM,Mr Michael Mendonca, Editor of the parish magazine ‘Rozaricho Gaanch’. Mrs Daisy Mendonca, Mrs Anitha DSouza, Mrs Andrea DSouza…. various Catholic Sabha Office bearers and others.
There were about a dozen enthusiastic participants from the neighbouring Milagres parish too….
Mr Archibald Furtado President of the ‘Catholic Sabha’ proposed a vote of thanks. He expressed gratitude to the Parish Priest, resource persons, organisers, students, parents and all those who contributed to the successful conduct of the seminar, especially all the donors and notably sponsors Mr Wilson Fernandes, President of Lions Club, Kallianpur.
The seminar proved to be a timely and valuable initiative, giving students greater confidence to explore their future and reminding parents that the journey towards a successful career begins with understanding, communication and proper guidance.

The message of the seminar was clear: when young minds receive the right guidance and families communicate with understanding, the road to a brighter tomorrow becomes much clearer.
