ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಪುರ , ಜುಲೈ 9, 2026: ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಪುರದ ಮಿಲಾಗ್ರಿಸ್ ಕ್ಯಾಥೆಡ್ರಲ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಗುರುವಾರ, ಜುಲೈ 9, 2026 ರಂದು ಪೋಷಕಿ ಮಿಲಾಗ್ರಿಸ್ ಮಾತೆಯ ಹಬ್ಬವನ್ನು ಆಳವಾದ ಭಕ್ತಿ, ಭವ್ಯತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ ಉತ್ಸಾಹದಿಂದ ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಹಿಂದಿನ ದಿನ ನಿರಂತರ ಮಳೆಯ ಹೊರತಾಗಿಯೂ, ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷ್, ನೆರೆಯ ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷ್‌ಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಡಯಾಸಿಸ್‌ನ ವಿವಿಧ ಭಾಗಗಳಿಂದ ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಭಕ್ತರು ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವರ್ಗೀಯ ತಾಯಿಯನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸಲು ಅಚಲ ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಒಟ್ಟುಗೂಡಿದರು.
ಭಕ್ತರು ಮೌನ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಗಂಭೀರವಾದ ಯೂಕರಿಸ್ಟಿಕ್ ಆಚರಣೆಗೆ ಸಿದ್ಧತೆ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 10.00 ಗಂಟೆಯಿಂದಲೇ ಹಬ್ಬದ ವಾತಾವರಣ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಯಿತು….
ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 10.30 ಕ್ಕೆ, ಹಬ್ಬದ ಥ್ಯಾಂಕ್ಸ್ಗಿವಿಂಗ್ ಬಲಿದಾದ ಬಹಳ ಶ್ರದ್ಧೆಯಿಂದ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಯಿತು. ಪವಿತ್ರ ಯೂಕರಿಸ್ಟ್ ಅನ್ನು ಡಯಾಸಿಸ್‌ನ ಬಿಷಪ್, ಅ।ವಂ। ರೆವರೆಂಡ್ ಡಾ. ಲೆಸ್ಲೀ ಕ್ಲಿಫರ್ಡ್ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜಾ. ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಸೆಲೆಬ್ರೆಂಟ್ ಆಗಿ, ಹಾಗೂ ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಪುರ ಡೀನರಿಯಿಂದ ಬಂದ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯ ಪುರೋಹಿತರು, ಹಲವಾರು ಅತಿಥಿ ಧರ್ಮಗುರುಗಳು, ನಿವೃತ್ತ ಧರ್ಮಗುರುಗಳು ಪವಿತ್ರ ಬಲಿದಾನವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಿದರು.

ಕ್ಯಾಥೆಡ್ರಲ್ ಸೊಗಸಾದ ಅಲಂಕಾರಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹಬ್ಬದ ನೋಟವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿತ್ತು. ರೆಕ್ಟರ್ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಕಾರ್ ಜನರಲ್, ವೆರಿ ರೆವರೆಂಡ್ ಮೊನ್ಸಿ. ಫ್ರಾನ್ಸಿಸ್ ಕ್ಸೇವಿಯರ್ ಲೆವಿಸ್, ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ನಿಖರವಾಗಿ ಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕಾರ್ಯಗತಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆಯೆ ಎಂದು ಖಚಿತಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದೇ ಅವಕಾಶವನ್ನು ಬಿಡಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಇದು ಅವರ ನಾಯಕತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಮೊದಲ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಹಬ್ಬವಾದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಆಚರಣೆಗಳು ಅವರ ಸಮರ್ಪಣೆ, ದೃಷ್ಟಿಕೋನ ಮತ್ತು ವಿವರಗಳಿಗೆ ಗಮನವನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಬಿಂಬಿಸುತ್ತವೆ.
ರೆವರೆಂಡ್ ಫಾದರ್ ಆಲ್ವಿನ್ ಸಿಕ್ವೇರಾ ಅವರಿಂದ ಉತ್ತಮ ತರಬೇತಿ ಪಡೆದ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧ ಮಿಲಾಗ್ರಿಯನ್ ಗಾಯಕವೃಂದವು ಅಸಾಧಾರಣ ಭಕ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಮರಸ್ಯದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನಾ ಸ್ತುತಿಗೀತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಡಿತು, ಯೂಕರಿಸ್ಟಿಕ್ ಆಚರಣೆಯ ಗಾಂಭೀರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿತು ಮತ್ತು ಆಳವಾದ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಭಕ್ತಿಯ ವಾತಾವರಣವನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿತು, ಅವರು ‘ಸರ್ವೆಸ್ಪೋರಾ, ಆಮ್ಚ್ಯಾ ರಚನಾರಾ….’ ಎಂಬ ಪ್ರವೇಶ ಸ್ತುತಿಗೀತೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರು.

ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ಪೂರ್ತಿದಾಯಕ ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ, ಬಿಷಪ್ ಲೆಸ್ಲಿ ಕ್ಲಿಫರ್ಡ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ ಮಾತೆ ಮೇರಿಯ ಸದ್ಗುಣಗಳನ್ನು ಸುಂದರವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರತಿಬಿಂಬಿಸಿದರು, ಅವರ ನಮ್ರತೆ, ವಿಧೇಯತೆ, ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ದೇವರ ಚಿತ್ತಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಶರಣಾಗತಿಯ ಜೀವನದಿಂದ ಸ್ಪೂರ್ತಿದಾಯಕ ಉದಾಹರಣೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತಪಡಿಸಿದರು. ಅವರು ನಿಷ್ಠಾವಂತರು ಈ ಸದ್ಗುಣಗಳನ್ನು ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯ ಜೀವನವನ್ನು ಅನುಕರಿಸಲು, ದೇವರು ಮತ್ತು ನೆರೆಹೊರೆಯವರೊಂದಿಗಿನ ಸಂಬಂಧವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಅವರ ದೈನಂದಿನ ಕ್ರಿಶ್ಚಿಯನ್ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿರುವವರಿಗೆ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಲು ಕರೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.

ತಮ್ಮ ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಶುಭಾಶಯಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ಬಿಷಪ್ ಅವರು ‘ಮದರ್ ಮಿಲಾಗ್ರಿಸ್, ಸಮೃದ್ಧ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದಗಳ ಜಲಾಶಯ ಮತ್ತು ಮೂಲ’ ಎಂದು ಸಭೆಗೆ ನೆನಪಿಸಿದರು, ಮಿಲಾಗ್ರಿಸ್ ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷ್‌ನ ಪೋಷಕಿ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ ಉಡುಪಿ ಡಯಾಸಿಸ್‌ನ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ತಾಯಿ ಮತ್ತು ರಕ್ಷಕಿ, ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಎಲ್ಲರ ಮೇಲೆ ತನ್ನ ತಾಯಿಯ ಆರೈಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಸುರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ಬಿಷಪ್ ಮೂರು ಮಹತ್ವದ ಅಗತ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿಸಿದರು – ಪುರೋಹಿತರ ವೃತ್ತಿಗಳು, ಡಯೋಸಿಸನ್ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಮತ್ತು ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳನ್ನು ಉನ್ನತೀಕರಿಸುವುದು…. ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪಾಲುದಾರರ ಒಳಗೊಳ್ಳುವಿಕೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಇದು ಸಾಕಾರಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ…

ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ಸ್ಥಿರ ಮಳೆಯನ್ನು ಕಂಡರೂ, ಭಕ್ತರ ಉತ್ಸಾಹ ಮತ್ತು ಭಕ್ತಿ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಚರ್ಚ್ ಒಳಗೆ ಲಭ್ಯವಿರುವ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಸ್ಥಳ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಶಾಲವಾದ ಪೋರ್ಟಿಕೋವನ್ನು ಭಕ್ತರು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಆಕ್ರಮಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಕ್ಯಾಥೆಡ್ರಲ್ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯದಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿತ್ತು.

ಇಡೀ ಆಚರಣೆಯನ್ನು ವಿವಿಧ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ವೇದಿಕೆಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ನೇರ ಪ್ರಸಾರ ಮಾಡಲಾಯಿತು, ಇದು ಭಾರತ ಮತ್ತು ವಿದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಅಸಂಖ್ಯಾತ ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷಿಯನ್ನರು ಮತ್ತು ಭಕ್ತರು ಈ ಬಹುನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿತ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ಹಬ್ಬದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕವಾಗಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಲು ಅನುವು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಟ್ಟಿತು.

ಮಿಲಾಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಪ್ರಿ-ಯೂನಿವರ್ಸಿಟಿ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲ ರೆವರೆಂಡ್ ಫಾದರ್ ರಿಖ್ಸನ್ ಮೊಂತೇರೊ, ರೆವರೆಂಡ್ ಫಾದರ್ ಮೆಲ್ವಿನ್ ಮೆಂಡೋನ್ಸಾ, ರೆಸಿಡೆಂಟ್ ಪಿಲಾರ್ ಫಾದರ್ಸ್, ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಮೆಲ್ವಿನ್ ಸಿಕ್ವೇರಾ, ಪಾಲನ ಮಂಡಳಿ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ, ಸದಸ್ಯರು ಮತ್ತು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷ್ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳು ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಆಚರಣೆಗಳ ಸುಗಮ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನಾಪೂರ್ವಕ ನಡವಳಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಖಚಿತಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಅವಿಶ್ರಾಂತವಾಗಿ ಶ್ರಮಿಸಿದರು.

ರೆಕ್ಟರ್ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಕಾರ್ ಜನರಲ್, ವೆರಿ ರೆವರೆಂಡ್ ಮೊನ್ಸಿ. ಫ್ರಾನ್ಸಿಸ್ ಕ್ಸೇವಿಯರ್ ಲೆವಿಸ್, 81 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ದಿವಂಗತ ಎಜೆ ಮತ್ತು ಏಂಜಲೀನಾ ಡಿಸಿಲ್ವಾ ಅವರ ಕುಟುಂಬ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದಾನಿಗಳು, ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳು, ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಮತ್ತು ಅವರ್ ಲೇಡಿ ಆಫ್ ಮಿಲಾಗ್ರೆಸ್‌ನ ಶೀರ್ಷಿಕೆ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಅದ್ಧೂರಿ ಯಶಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಕಾರಣರಾದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ನಿಷ್ಠಾವಂತರು, ಪಾದ್ರಿಗಳು, ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕರು, ಸ್ವಯಂಸೇವಕರು, ಹೃದಯಪೂರ್ವಕ ಸಹಕಾರವನ್ನು ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಯಿಂದ ಶ್ಲಾಘಿಸಿದರು.

ಈ ಹಬ್ಬವು ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ಭಕ್ತರ ಆಳವಾದ ಮರಿಯನ್ ಭಕ್ತಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಬಲ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿ ನಿಂತಿತು, ಅವರ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಬಲಪಡಿಸಿತು ಮತ್ತು ಉಡುಪಿ ಡಯಾಸಿಸ್ನ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಪೋಷಕರಾದ ಅವರ್ ಲೇಡಿ ಆಫ್ ಮಿಲಾಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಅವರ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಮಧ್ಯಸ್ಥಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಪುನರುಚ್ಚರಿಸಿತು.

Thousands of Devotees Celebrate the Titular Feast of Our Lady of Milagres at Kallianpur Cathedral

Kallianpur, July 9, 2026: The Titular Feast of Our Lady of Milagres was celebrated with profound devotion, grandeur, and spiritual fervour at Milagres Cathedral, Kallianpur, on Thursday, 9th July 2026. Despite intermittent rain previous day, thousands of devotees from the parish, neighbouring parishes, and different parts of the Diocese gathered to honour their Heavenly Mother with unwavering faith and devotion.
The festive atmosphere began as early as 10.00 a.m. though the melodious Brass Band was missing this year, devotees preparing for the solemn Eucharistic celebration in silent prayer….
At 10.30 a.m. sharp, the Festal Thanksgiving High Mass commenced with great solemnity. The Holy Eucharist was solemnly celebrated by the Most Rev. Bishop of the Diocese, Rt. Rev. Dr. Leslie Clifford D’Souza, who was the Principal Celebrant. A large number of priests from across the Diocese, especially from the Kallianpur Deanery, together with several guest priests, retired Priests concelebrated the Holy Mass, making the occasion all the more memorable.
The Cathedral wore a festive look with elegant decorations. The Rector and Vicar General, Very Rev. Msgr. Francis Xavier Lewis, left no stone unturned in ensuring that every arrangement was meticulously planned and executed. As this was the first major feast under his leadership, the celebrations reflected his dedication, vision, and attention to detail.
The renowned Milagrean Choir well trained by Rev Fr Alwyn Sequeira rendered the liturgical hymns with exceptional devotion and harmony, elevating the solemnity of the Eucharistic celebration and creating an atmosphere of deep prayer and reverence, as they made a beginning with entrance hymn, ‘Sarvespora, Amchya Rachnara….’
In his inspiring homily, Bishop Leslie Clifford D’Souza reflected beautifully on the virtues of Mother Mary, presenting inspiring examples from her life of humility, obedience, faith, and total surrender to the will of God. He called upon the faithful to imitate these virtues especially a life of prayers, keeping the relationship with God and neighbours and service to the needful in their daily Christian life.

Extending his heartfelt feast greetings, the Bishop reminded the congregation that ‘Mother Milagres, the reservoir and source of bountiful blessings’ is not only the Patroness of the Milagres Parish but also the loving Mother and Protectress of the entire Diocese of Udupi, continually showering her maternal care and blessings upon all.
Once again Bishop reminded of three significant needs – priests vocations, uplift the educational Institutions with quality education and health care facilities with a Diocesan Hospital…. which will be realised with the involvement of all the stakeholders…

Although the morning witnessed steady rain, the enthusiasm and devotion of the faithful remained undiminished. The Cathedral was filled to capacity, with every available space inside the Church and the spacious portico occupied by devotees participating prayerfully in the celebration.

The entire celebration was telecast live through various media platforms, enabling countless parishioners and devotees across India and abroad to participate spiritually in this much-awaited annual feast.

The Assistant Parish Priest Rev Fr Rikhson Montiero, the Principal of Milagres Pre-University College, Rev. Fr. Melwin Mendonca, the Resident Pilar Fathers, Vice President Mr. Melwyn Sequeira, members of the Parish Pastoral Council, and all the parish pious organisations worked tirelessly to ensure the smooth and prayerful conduct of the religious celebrations.

At the conclusion, the Rector and Vicar General, Very Rev. Msgr. Francis Xavier Lewis, gratefully acknowledged the wholehearted cooperation of the clergy, religious, volunteers, piejenth family of Late AJ and Angelina DSilva since 81 long years, all benefactors, parish organisations, media personnel, and all the faithful whose dedicated service contributed to the grand success of the Titular Feast of Our Lady of Milagres.

The feast once again stood as a powerful witness to the deep Marian devotion of the faithful, strengthening their faith and reaffirming their trust in the loving intercession of Our Lady of Milagres, the cherished Patroness of the Diocese of Udupi.
