ಕಟ್ಪಾಡಿ, ಜುಲೈ ೮ , 2026: ದೇವರ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಸರ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯನ್ನುಯನ್ನು ಉತ್ತೇಜಿಸುವ ಆಳವಾದ ಬದ್ಧತೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ, ಕಟ್ಪಾಡಿಯ ಸೇಂಟ್ ವಿನ್ಸೆಂಟ್ ಡಿ ಪಾಲ್ ಚರ್ಚ್ನ ಪರಿಸರ ಆಯೋಗ ಜುಲೈ 5, ಭಾನುವಾರ ಚರ್ಚ್ ಆವರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಸದುದ್ದೇಶಪೂರ್ವಕ ವನಮಹೋತ್ಸವ 2026 ಅನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿತು.
ಈ ಉದಾತ್ತ ಉಪಕ್ರಮದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ದೇವರ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದವನ್ನು ಕೋರಿ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಯಿತು, ನಂತರ ವೈಸಿಎಸ್ನ ಅನಿಮೇಟರ್ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಲೊರೆಟ್ಟಾ ಡಿಸಿಲ್ವಾ ಅವರು ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಯನ್ನು ಸಂರಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ಮತ್ತು ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ ಪೀಳಿಗೆಗೆ ಹಸಿರು ಪರಿಸರವನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸುವ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ತೋರಿಸುವ ಸಂಕ್ಷಿಪ್ತ ಪರಿಚಯವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದರು. ಭೂಮಿಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕಾಳಜಿ ವಹಿಸುವುದು ಕ್ರಿಶ್ಚಿಯನ್ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿ ಮತ್ತು ನೈತಿಕ ಬಾಧ್ಯತೆ ಎರಡೂ ಆಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಸಂಘಟಕರು ಸಭೆಗೆ ನೆನಪಿಸಿದರು.
‘ಮಹತ್ವಾಕಾಂಕ್ಷೆಯ ಮೂರು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಸಿರು ಮಿಷನ್ನ ಮೊದಲ ಹಂತವಾಗಿ, ಪರಿಸರ ಆಯೋಗದ ಸಂಚಾಲಕ ಶ್ರೀ ಸ್ಟ್ಯಾನಿ ಪೆರೇರಾ ಅವರ ಸರಳ ವಿವರಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಚರ್ಚ್ ಆವರಣದ ಬಳಕೆಯಾಗದ ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ 25 ಪ್ರೀಮಿಯಂ ತೇಗದ ಸಸಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೆಡಲಾಯಿತು. ಈ ಉಪಕ್ರಮವು ಮುಂದಿನ ಮೂರು ವರ್ಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ 100 ತೇಗದ ಮರಗಳನ್ನು ಪೋಷಿಸುವ ಗುರಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ, ಇದು ಚರ್ಚ್ ಆವರಣವನ್ನು ಸ್ವಚ್ಛ, ಹಸಿರು ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಸರ ಸ್ನೇಹಿ ಕ್ಯಾಂಪಸ್ ಆಗಿ ಪರಿವರ್ತಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
ಮೇಲಿನ ಉಪಕ್ರಮ ಮತ್ತು ನಾಯಕತ್ವವನ್ನು ಶ್ಲಾಘಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷ್ ಫಾದರ್ ರಾಜೇಶ್ ಪಸ್ಸಾನ್ಹಾ ಉದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ, ‘ಈ ಉಪಕ್ರಮದ ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಲಕ್ಷಣವೆಂದರೆ ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷನರ್ಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಹಿತೈಷಿಗಳ ಪೂರ್ಣ ಹೃದಯದ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವಿಕೆ, ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕರು ತಲಾ ₹500 ಕ್ಕೆ ಒಂದು ಅಥವಾ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಸಸಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾಯೋಜಿಸಲು ಮುಂದೆ ಬಂದರು. ಅವರ ಉದಾರ ಕೊಡುಗೆಗಳು ಮುಂದಿನ ಎರಡು ವರ್ಷಗಳವರೆಗೆ ಮಹಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರದಿಂದ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ ಸಸಿಗಳನ್ನು ಖರೀದಿಸಲು ಬೆಂಬಲ ನೀಡುತ್ತವೆ, ಪ್ರತಿ ಮರದ ಆರೋಗ್ಯಕರ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಖಚಿತಪಡಿಸುತ್ತವೆ.
ಸಭೆಯನ್ನುದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಕ್ಯಾಥೋಲಿಕ್ ಸಭಾದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೆ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಹಿಲ್ಡಾ ಬಾರ್ನ್ಸ್, ಈ ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣ ಉದ್ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಉದಾರವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯಿಸಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದಾನಿಗಳು, ಸ್ವಯಂಸೇವಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಬೆಂಬಲಿಗರಿಗೆ ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಯನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಅಧಿಕೃತ ಭಾಗವನ್ನು ಮುಕ್ತಾಯಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಮೊದಲು, ಪರಿಸರ ಆಯೋಗದ ಸಂಚಾಲಕ ಶ್ರೀ ಸ್ಟ್ಯಾನಿ ಪೆರೇರಾ ಅವರು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ, ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ವಿಕಾರ್ಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು, ಇಂದು ನೆಟ್ಟ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಸಸಿ ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ ಪೀಳಿಗೆಗೆ ಉಡುಗೊರೆಯಾಗಿದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಭರವಸೆ, ಪರಿಸರ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿ ಮತ್ತು ದೇವರ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯ ಮೇಲಿನ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಜೀವಂತ ಸಂಕೇತವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಒತ್ತಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಆಸಕ್ತ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವವರಿಗೆ ಮ್ಯೂಸ್ಬೆರಿ ಶಾಖೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಅರಿಶಿನ ಬೀಜಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸಸ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ವಿತರಿಸಿ ಅಗತ್ಯ ಸಲಹೆಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಸಂಯುಕ್ತಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳೆಸಿ ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಯನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವುದನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರಿಸಲು ಮತ್ತು ಈ ಹಸಿರು ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆಗೆ ಸೇರಲು ಇತರರನ್ನು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಲು 160 ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಉತ್ಸಾಹಿ ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷನರ್ಗಳ ಸಾಮೂಹಿಕ ಪ್ರತಿಜ್ಞೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಮುಕ್ತಾಯವಾಯಿತು.
PURPOSEFUL VANAMAHOTSAVA 2026 CELEBRATED AT ST. VINCENT DE PAUL CHURCH, KATPADI
Katpadi, 5th July 2026: With a deep commitment to protecting God’s creation and promoting environmental stewardship, the Environment Commission (Parisar Ayog) of St. Vincent de Paul Church, Katpadi, successfully organised Purposeful Vanamahotsava 2026 on Sunday, 5th July, in the church campus.
The programme began with a prayer seeking God’s blessings on the noble initiative, followed by a brief introduction by Ms Loretta DSilva, animater of YCS, highlighting the importance of conserving nature and creating a greener environment for future generations. The organisers reminded the gathering that caring for the Earth is both a Christian responsibility and a moral obligation.
In his down to earth explanation Mr Stany Pereira, Convenor of Parisar Ayog ‘as the first phase of an ambitious three-year green mission, 25 premium Teakwood saplings were planted in an unutilized portion of the church campus. The initiative aims to nurture 100 Teakwood trees over the next three years, transforming the church premises into a clean, green, and environment-friendly campus.
While appreciating the above initiative and leadership the Parish Priest Rev Fr Rajesh Passanha observed, ‘the unique feature of this initiative was the wholehearted participation of parishioners and well-wishers, many of whom came forward to sponsor one or more saplings at ₹500 each. Their generous contributions will support the purchase of quality sapling from Maharashtra planting expenses, natural manure, and maintenance for the next two years, ensuring the healthy growth of every tree….’
Addressing the gathering, the Ms Hilda Barnes, President of Catholic Sabha expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the donors, volunteers, and supporters who responded generously to this meaningful cause.
Before concluding the official part of the mission, Parisar Ayog Convenor Mr Stany Pereira, thanked all especially Vicar for his encouragement, emphasised that every sapling planted today is a gift to future generations and a living symbol of hope, environmental responsibility, and love for God’s creation and distributed Museberry branches and turmaric seeds and plants to interested participants to grow them in their respective compounds with necessary tips…
The programme concluded with a collective pledge of over 160 enthusiastic parishioners, to continue protecting nature and to inspire others to join this green mission.
Purposeful Vanamahotsava 2026 stood as a beautiful reminder that small acts of care today can create a healthier, greener, and more sustainable tomorrow.
