ಬಾರ್ಕೂರು;ಕಥೊಲಿಕ್ ಧರ್ಮಸಭೆಯ ಮೊದಲ ಜಗತ್ ಗುರು ಪೋಪ್ ಸಂತ ಪೀಟರ್ ಹುತ್ಮಾಮ ದಿನವಾದ ಜೂನ್ 29 ರಂದು ಬಾರ್ಕೂರು ಚರ್ಚಿನ ಪೋಷಕರಾದ ಅವರ ಹಬ್ಬವನ್ನು ಜೂನ್ 29, 2026 ರಂದು ಆಳವಾದ ನಂಬಿಕೆ, ಭಕ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಹಬ್ಬದ ಉತ್ಸಾಹದಿಂದ ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 10.30 ಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾದ ಬಲಿದಾನದ ಆಚರಣೆಯನ್ನು ಧರ್ಮಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದ ವಿಕಾರ್ ಜನರಲ್ ಮತ್ತು ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಪುರದ ಮಿಲಾಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಕ್ಯಾಥೆಡ್ರಲ್ನ ರೆಕ್ಟರ್, ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಯಾಜಕರಾಗಿ, ಅ।ವಂ।ಮೊನ್ಸಿಂಝ್ಹೊರ್ ಫ್ರಾನ್ಸಿಸ್ ಕ್ಸೇವಿಯರ್ ಲೂಯಿಸ್ ಬಲಿದಾನ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು.
ಸಹಾಯಕ ಧರ್ಮಗುರು ವಂ। ರಿಖ್ಸನ್ ಮೊಂತೇರೊ ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದರು, ಅವರು ಸೇಂಟ್ ಪೀಟರ್ನ ಜೀವನ ಮತ್ತು ಧ್ಯೇಯವನ್ನು ಸುಂದರವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರತಿಬಿಂಬಿಸಿದರು. ಯೇಸು ತನ್ನ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಸಭೆಯ ನಾಯಕನಾಗಲು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಮೀನುಗಾರನನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಅವರು ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು, ದೇವರು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ನಂಬುವವರನ್ನು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಕೈಬಿಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತರಿಗೆ ನೆನಪಿಸಿದರು. ವೈಫಲ್ಯಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಹಿನ್ನಡೆಗಳ ಮೂಲಕವೂ, ದೇವರ ಕೃಪೆಯು ಅಮೂಲ್ಯವಾದ ಪಾಠಗಳನ್ನು ಕಲಿಸುತ್ತದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅಂತಿಮವಾಗಿ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಯಶಸ್ಸಿನತ್ತ ಕೊಂಡೊಯ್ಯುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

ಹಬ್ಬದ ಶುಭಾಶಯಗಳನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ದೇಶ ಮತ್ತು ವಿದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಜರಿದ್ದ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಫಾದರ್ ರೊನಾಲ್ಡ್ ಮಿರಾಂಡಾ ಅವರು ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಆಚರಣೆಯ ಅದ್ಧೂರಿ ಯಶಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಕಾರಣರಾದ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ, ಸ್ವಯಂಸೇವಕರು, ದಾನಿಗಳು, ಗಾಯನ ತಂಡಕ್ಕೆ, ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗೂ ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಯನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
ಗಾಯಕವೃಂದವು ಮುಕ್ತಾಯದ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರವನ್ನು ಹಾಡುವ ಮೊದಲು, ಮೊನ್ಸಿಂಝ್ಹೊರ್ ಫ್ರಾನ್ಸಿಸ್ ಕ್ಸೇವಿಯರ್ ಲೂಯಿಸ್ ಅವರು ಚರ್ಚಿನ ಧರ್ಮಗುರುಗಳಿಗೆ ಚರ್ಚಿನ ಸಮುದಾಯವನ್ನು ಅವರ ಅನುಕರಣೀಯ ಯೋಜನೆ, ಪೂರ್ಣ ಹೃದಯದ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅವರ ಪೋಷಕ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಉತ್ಸಾಹಭರಿತ ಆಚರಣೆಗಾಗಿ ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಅಭಿನಂದಿಸಿದರು. ಅವರು ಧರ್ಮಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಏಕತೆ, ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಆತಿಥ್ಯವನ್ನು ಶ್ಲಾಘಿಸಿದರು, ಎಲ್ಲರ ಮೇಲೆ ದೇವರ ಹೇರಳವಾದ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾರೈಸಿದರು.
ಹಬ್ಬದ ಆಚರಣೆಯು ಸಂತೋಷದಾಯಕ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನಾಪೂರ್ವಕ ಟಿಪ್ಪಣಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮುಕ್ತಾಯವಾಯಿತು, ಚರ್ಚ್ ಪೋಷಕ ಸಂತ ಪೀಟರ್ ಅವರ ಅಚಲ ನಂಬಿಕೆ, ಧೈರ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ನಾಯಕತ್ವವನ್ನು ಅನುಕರಿಸಲು ನಿಷ್ಠಾವಂತರನ್ನು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿತು.
The Titular Feast of St. Peter the Apostle, Patron of Barkur Parish, was celebrated with deep faith, devotion, and festive fervour on 29th June 2026.
The solemn Eucharistic celebration begun at 10.30 am, was presided over by Very Rev. Msgr. Francis Xavier Lewis, Vicar General of the Diocese and Rector of Milagres Cathedral, Kallianpur as the Principal Celebrant.
The homily was delivered by the Assistant Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Rikhson Montiero, who beautifully reflected on the life and mission of St. Peter. He explained how Jesus chose an ordinary fisherman to become the leader of His Church, reminding the faithful that God never abandons those who trust in Him. Even through failures and setbacks, God’s grace teaches valuable lessons and ultimately leads us to success, he said.
Adding a unique spiritual touch to the celebration, the choir was enthusiastically led by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Ronald Miranda. The inspiring hymns and prayerful singing created an atmosphere of deep devotion and joy, making the liturgy truly uplifting.
Around a dozen priests from the Kallianpur Deanery along with a few guest priests concelebrated the Holy Eucharist.
The presence of three retired priests made the occasion even more special: Rev. Fr. Stany B. Lobo, a native of Barkur; Rev. Fr. Xavier Pinto, both had earlier served as Vicar Forane of Kallianpur; and Rev. Fr. Alphonse D’Lima, another respected son of the parish and former editor of Amchi Mai, monthly.
As a mark of respect and gratitude, the principal Celebrant, Msgr. Francis Xavier Lewis, was felicitated by the Parish Priest and the Parish Pastoral Council Vice president Jossie Babu Fernandes, Secretary Sabitha Picardo and 2o0 Ayog Convenor Joseph Fernandes, with a traditional shawl and a bouquet.
Extending his feast greetings, Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Ronald Miranda to all present,at home and abroad expressed heartfelt gratitude to all parishioners, volunteers, benefactors, choir members, and every individual whose dedicated efforts contributed to the grand success of the annual feast celebrations.
Before the choir rendered the concluding hymn, Msgr. Francis Xavier Lewis warmly congratulated the Parish Priest and the entire parish community for their exemplary planning, wholehearted participation, and vibrant celebration of their patronal feast. He appreciated the unity, faith, and hospitality of the parish, wishing God’s abundant blessings upon everyone.
The feast celebration concluded on a joyful and prayerful note, leaving the faithful inspired to emulate the unwavering faith, courage, and leadership of St. Peter, the Patron of Barkur Parish.
