More Students from Coastal Karnataka Should Attempt Competitive Examinations, Says Swami Jitakamanandaji
ರಚನಾ ಚೇಂಬರ್ ಆಫ್ ಕಾಮರ್ಸ್ ಅಂಡ್ ಇಂಡಸ್ಟ್ರಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಐಎಎಸ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯು ರಾಮಕೃಷ್ಣ ಮಿಷನ್, ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಇವರ ಸಹಯೋಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ್ದ “ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶಿ – ಕ್ರ್ಯಾಕಿಂಗ್ ದಿ ಯುಪಿಎಸ್ಸಿ ಎಕ್ಸಾಮಿನೇಷನ್” ಎಂಬ ವಿಚಾರ ಸಂಕಿರಣವು ಜೂನ್ 28, ಭಾನುವಾರದಂದು ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಮಂಗಳಾದೇವಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ರಾಮಕೃಷ್ಣ ಮಿಷನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯಿತು. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಗರಿಕ ಸೇವಾ ಪರೀಕ್ಷಾ ಆಕಾಂಕ್ಷಿಗಳು, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು, ಪೋಷಕರು ಹಾಗೂ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಆರಂಭವಾಯಿತು.
ವೇದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಯಾಗಿ ರಾಮಕೃಷ್ಣ ಮಿಷನ್, ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಜಿತಕಾಮಾನಂದಜಿ, ರಚನಾ ಚೇಂಬರ್ ಆಫ್ ಕಾಮರ್ಸ್ ಅಂಡ್ ಇಂಡಸ್ಟ್ರಿಯ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಯ್ ಕ್ಯಾಸ್ಟೆಲಿನೊ, ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಐಎಎಸ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ಶ್ರೀ ಸಂತೋಷ್ ರಾವ್, ಯುಪಿಎಸ್ಸಿ ಮಾಸ್ಟರ್ ತರಬೇತುದಾರರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಮೋಹನ್ ಕೃಷ್ಣಮೂರ್ತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಶ್ರೀ ಚಂದ್ರಮೋಹನ್ ಇನಗಂಟಿ, ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಪ್ರಥಮ ದರ್ಜೆ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಕಾಲೇಜು, ಬಲ್ಮಠದ ಸಮಾಜಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥೆ ಡಾ. ಸುಮನಾ ಬಿ., ಹಾಗೂ ಗೂಗಲ್ ಮತ್ತು ಮೈಕ್ರೋಸಾಫ್ಟ್ನ ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಿತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣತಜ್ಞ ಶ್ರೀ ಡಾನ್ ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
ಅತಿಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದ ರಚನಾ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಯ್ ಕ್ಯಾಸ್ಟೆಲಿನೊ, ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಆತಿಥ್ಯ ವಹಿಸಿದ ರಾಮಕೃಷ್ಣ ಮಿಷನ್ಗೆ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿ, ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿ, ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು. ನಾಗರಿಕ ಸೇವಾ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ವಿವಿಧ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧಾತ್ಮಕ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗಳ ಆಕಾಂಕ್ಷಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರೇರಣೆ ನೀಡುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಈ ವಿಚಾರ ಸಂಕಿರಣವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಬಳಿಕ ಗಣ್ಯರು ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕವಾಗಿ ದೀಪ ಬೆಳಗಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿದರು.
ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಯಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಜಿತಕಾಮಾನಂದಜಿ, ಇಂತಹ ಉಪಯುಕ್ತ ವಿಚಾರ ಸಂಕಿರಣವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿರುವ ಸಂಘಟಕರನ್ನು ಅಭಿನಂದಿಸಿದರು. ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಸ್ಪರ್ಧಾತ್ಮಕ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗಳು ಕಠಿಣವೆಂಬ ಭಾವನೆಯಿಂದ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಪಟ್ಟರು. ಆದರೆ ದೃಢ ಸಂಕಲ್ಪ ಮತ್ತು ಸೂಕ್ತ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನ ಇದ್ದರೆ ಯಶಸ್ಸು ಸಾಧ್ಯ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದರು. “ಗುರಿ ಹೊಂದುವುದು ಮಾತ್ರ ಸಾಕಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಅದನ್ನು ತಲುಪುವ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನೂ ಬಲಪಡಿಸಬೇಕು” ಎಂಬ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ವಿವೇಕಾನಂದರ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಉಲ್ಲೇಖಿಸಿದರು. ಸ್ಪರ್ಧಾತ್ಮಕ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಿದ್ಧತೆ ನಡೆಸುವ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ರಾಮಕೃಷ್ಣ ಮಿಷನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶೇಷ ಓದುಗ ಕೊಠಡಿ (Reading Room) ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಅನೇಕ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಅದರ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನ ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದರು. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಗುರಿ ಸಾಧಿಸಲಿ ಎಂದು ಶುಭ ಹಾರೈಸಿದರು.
ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಐಎಎಸ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ಶ್ರೀ ಸಂತೋಷ್ ರಾವ್ ವಂದನಾರ್ಪಣೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿ, ರಾಮಕೃಷ್ಣ ಮಿಷನ್, ಗಣ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳು, ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳು, ಸಂಘಟಕರು, ಸ್ವಯಂಸೇವಕರು ಹಾಗೂ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಯಶಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಸಹಕರಿಸಿದ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಯಾನ್ ಇಂಟರ್ನ್ಯಾಷನಲ್ ಶಾಲೆಯ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲೆ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ವೈಜಯಂತಿ ಹೆಗ್ಡೆ, ಬಿಯರೀಸ್ ಇನ್ಸ್ಟಿಟ್ಯೂಟ್ ಆಫ್ ಟೆಕ್ನಾಲಜಿಯ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲ ಡಾ. ಸಿ. ಕಮಲಕಣ್ಣನ್, ಸಂದೇಶ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್ ಫಾರ್ ಕಲ್ಚರ್ ಅಂಡ್ ಎಜುಕೇಶನ್ನ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಫಾ. ರೋಷನ್ ರೊಸಾರಿಯೊ, ರಚನಾ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಅಲ್ರಾನ್ ರೊಡ್ರಿಗಸ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಸದಸ್ಯರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ವಿಲಿಯಂ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜಾ, ಶ್ರೀ ಎಡ್ವರ್ಡ್ ಫೆರ್ನಾಂಡಿಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀ ನವೀನ್ ಲೋಬೊ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
ಬಳಿಕ ನಡೆದ ಮಾರ್ಗ ದರ್ಶನ ವನ್ನು ಶ್ರೀ ಮೋಹನ್ ಕೃಷ್ಣಮೂರ್ತಿ, ಶ್ರೀ ಚಂದ್ರಮೋಹನ್ ಇನಗಂಟಿ, ಡಾ. ಸುಮನಾ ಬಿ., ಶ್ರೀ ಡಾನ್ ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಶ್ರೀ ಸಂತೋಷ್ ರಾವ್ ಅವರು ಯುಪಿಎಸ್ಸಿ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯ ಮಾದರಿ, ಪರಿಣಾಮಕಾರಿ ಸಿದ್ಧತಾ ವಿಧಾನಗಳು, ಸಮಯ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆ, ಉತ್ಪಾದಕತೆ, ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡುವ ತಪ್ಪುಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ನಾಗರಿಕ ಸೇವೆಯಲ್ಲಿನ ವೃತ್ತಿ ಅವಕಾಶಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ಪ್ರಾಯೋಗಿಕ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡರು. ತಮ್ಮ ಭಾಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಸಂತೋಷ್ ರಾವ್ ಅವರು ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಐಎಎಸ್ ತರಬೇತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಸಂದೇಶ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್ ಫಾರ್ ಕಲ್ಚರ್ ಅಂಡ್ ಎಜುಕೇಶನ್ ಸಹಯೋಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಕಾನ್ಸ್ಟೇಬಲ್ ನೇಮಕಾತಿ 2025 ತರಬೇತಿ ಕೋರ್ಸ್ ಕುರಿತು ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಜಾಸ್ಮಿನ್ ಲೋಬೊ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು.
ಕೊನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಸಂವಾದಾತ್ಮಕ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೋತ್ತರ ಅಧಿವೇಶನದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಸಂದೇಹಗಳನ್ನು ನಿವಾರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳಿಂದ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನ ಪಡೆದರು. ಇದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರೇರಣೆಯಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದ ವಿಚಾರ ಸಂಕಿರಣವು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ಸಮಾಪ್ತಿಯಾಯಿತು.

The “Margadharshi – Cracking the UPSC Examination” seminar, organised by RACHANA Chamber of Commerce & Industry in association with Mangalore IAS and Ramakrishna Mission, Mangaluru, was held at Ramakrishna Mission, Mangaladevi, on Sunday, June 28. The seminar witnessed the participation of a large number of Civil Services aspirants, students, parents and educators.
The programme commenced with an invocation.
Those present on the dais included Chief Guest Swami Jitakamanandaji, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Mangaluru; Mr. Roy Castelino, President, RACHANA Chamber of Commerce & Industry; Mr. Santhosh Rao, Founder, Mangalore IAS; Shri Mohan Krishnamurthy, UPSC Master Trainer; Shri Chandramohan Inaganti, UPSC Master Trainer; Dr. Sumana B., Head of the Department of Sociology, Government First Grade College for Women, Balmatta, Mangaluru; and Mr. Dawn Prakash, Globally Certified Google and Microsoft Educator.
Welcoming the gathering, Mr. Roy Castelino thanked Ramakrishna Mission for hosting the seminar and welcomed the Chief Guest, resource persons and participants. He said the seminar was organised to guide and motivate aspirants preparing for the Civil Services Examination and other competitive examinations.
The inaugural ceremony continued with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp.
Delivering the Chief Guest’s address, Swami Jitakamanandaji congratulated the organisers for taking the initiative to organise the seminar. He observed that comparatively fewer students from Mangaluru attempt competitive examinations because many perceive them to be difficult. However, he stressed that success is always possible with determination and the right guidance. Quoting Swami Vivekananda, he said, “Having a goal is not enough; strengthen the ways to reach it.” He also informed the gathering that Ramakrishna Mission has a reading room dedicated to students preparing for competitive examinations, which is utilised by many aspirants. He wished all the students success in achieving their goals.
A vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Santhosh Rao, Founder of Mangalore IAS, who expressed gratitude to Ramakrishna Mission, the dignitaries, resource persons, organisers, volunteers and everyone who supported the successful conduct of the seminar.
Among those present were Ms. Vaijayanti Hegde, Principal, Ryan International School, Mangaluru; Dr. C. Kamalakannan, Principal, Bearys Institute of Technology; Fr. Roshan Rosario, Director, Sandesha Foundation for Culture and Education; Mr. Alron Rodrigues, Secretary, RACHANA Chamber of Commerce & Industry; and Mr. William D’Souza, Mr. Edward Fernandes, and Mr. Naveen Lobo, members of RACHANA Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
The seminar then featured expert sessions by Shri Mohan Krishnamurthy, Shri Chandramohan Inaganti, Dr. Sumana B., Mr. Dawn Prakash, and Mr. Santhosh Rao. The speakers shared practical insights on the UPSC examination pattern, effective preparation strategies, time management, productivity, common mistakes made by aspirants, and career opportunities in the Civil Services. During his session, Mr. Santhosh Rao also briefed participants about the Mangalore IAS coaching programmes and the Karnataka Police Constable Recruitment 2025 course being conducted in collaboration with the Sandesha Foundation for Culture and Education.

The seminar concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, during which participants clarified their doubts and received guidance from the resource persons, bringing the informative and motivational programme to a close.
