Palm Sunday Celebrated at St. Joseph Church, Jeppu
ಜೆಪ್ಪುವಿನ ಸೇಂಟ್ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಚರ್ಚ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಗರಿಗಳ ಭಾನುವಾರವನ್ನು ಭಕ್ತಿಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು, ಪವಿತ್ರ ವಾರದ ಆರಂಭವನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಲು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಷ್ಠಾವಂತರು ಸೇರಿದ್ದರು.

“ದಾವೀದನ ಮಗನಿಗೆ ಹೊಸನ್ನ! ಕರ್ತನ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುವವನು ಧನ್ಯನು!” (ಮತ್ತಾಯ 21:9) “ಅವರು ತಾಳೆಯ ಕೊಂಬೆಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ‘ಹೊಸನ್ನ!’ ಎಂದು ಕೂಗುತ್ತಾ ಆತನನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಳ್ಳಲು ಹೊರಟರು” (ಯೋಹಾನ 12:13)

Palm Sunday Celebrated at St. Joseph Church, Jeppu
Palm Sunday was devoutly celebrated at St. Joseph Church, Jeppu, with the faithful gathering in large numbers to mark the beginning of Holy Week.
The celebration began at 7:45 a.m. with the blessing of the palms at Infant Mary’s Convent. The blessing was led by Rev. Fr. Vincent Menezes, Seminary Administrator, along with Rev. Fr. Maxim D’Souza, Parish Priest, in the presence of the Sisters of Charity and parishioners.
Following the blessing, a solemn procession was held from the convent to the church, with the faithful carrying blessed palms and singing hymns, commemorating the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem.
At St. Joseph Church, the Holy Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Vincent Menezes, along with Rev. Fr. Maxim D’Souza and Rev. Fr. Ivan. The liturgy was conducted by the Sisters of Infant Mary’s Convent, making the celebration prayerful and meaningful.
During the homily, Rev. Fr. Vincent Menezes shared a message from the Bible, reflecting on the significance of Palm Sunday and the journey of Jesus from glory to sacrifice. He encouraged the faithful to remain humble, faithful, and trusting in God, just as Jesus accepted His mission with obedience and love.
“Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” (Matthew 21:9) “They took palm branches and went out to meet Him, shouting, ‘Hosanna!’” (John 12:13)
The Palm Sunday celebration brought together the faithful in a spirit of prayer, devotion, and unity, preparing their hearts for the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
