ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಪುರದ ಮಿಲಾಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಸೇವಾ ಯೋಜನೆ (ಎನ್ಎಸ್ಎಸ್) ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಸರ ಕ್ಲಬ್, ಐಕ್ಯೂಎಸಿ ಸಹಯೋಗದೊಂದಿಗೆ, ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 28, 2026 ರಂದು ಕಾಲೇಜು ಆವರಣದ ಮಿಯಾವಾಕಿ ಅರಣ್ಯ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ “ಸಾಲುಮರದ ತಿಮ್ಮಕ್ಕ ಗ್ರೀನ್ ಡ್ರೈವ್ – ಎ ಪ್ಲಾಂಟೇಶನ್ ಪ್ರೋಗ್ರಾಂ” ಅನ್ನು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದವು.
ಪರಿಸರ ಜಾಗೃತಿಯನ್ನು ಉತ್ತೇಜಿಸುವ ಮತ್ತು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಅರಣ್ಯೀಕರಣ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಕ್ರಿಯವಾಗಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಲು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಮರಗಳನ್ನು ನೆಡುವುದು ಮತ್ತು ಪೋಷಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ಸಮರ್ಪಣೆ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಸ್ಥಾಪಕತ್ವ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಸರ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯ ಸಂಕೇತವಾಗಿ ನಿಂತಿರುವ ಸಾಲುಮರದ ತಿಮ್ಮಕ್ಕ ಅವರ ಜೀವನ ಮತ್ತು ಸೇವೆಯಿಂದ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಪ್ರೇರಿತವಾಗಿದೆ. ಮಲಬಾರ್ ಪಾಲಕ್ ಬೀಜಗಳನ್ನು ನೆಡುವುದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಯಿತು.
ಎನ್ಎಸ್ಎಸ್ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಗಣೇಶ್ ನಾಯಕ್ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಶುಭಲತಾ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಸಂಯೋಜಿಸಿದರು, ಆದರೆ ಐಕ್ಯೂಎಸಿ ಸಂಯೋಜಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಶೈಲೆಟ್ ಮಥಯಾಸ್, ಗ್ರಂಥಪಾಲಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ರೇಖಾ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ ಶ್ರೀ ರವಿನಂದನ್ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು. ಎನ್ಎಸ್ಎಸ್ ಸ್ವಯಂಸೇವಕರು ಈ ನೆಡುತೋಪು ಅಭಿಯಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಕ್ರಿಯವಾಗಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದರು, ಉತ್ಸಾಹದಿಂದ ವಿವಿಧ ಸಸಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೆಟ್ಟರು ಮತ್ತು ಉಪಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಬದ್ಧತೆ ಮತ್ತು ತಂಡದ ಕೆಲಸದಿಂದ ಬೆಂಬಲಿಸಿದರು.
ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಹುರುಪಿನ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಳ್ಳುವಿಕೆಗೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಯಿತು ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಸರ ಸುಸ್ಥಿರತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯತ್ತ ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಯಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿತು.
Kalyanpur Milagres College – NSS and Environment Club, IQAC organized “Saalu Marad Thimmakka Green Drive – A Plantation Program”
The National Service Scheme (NSS) and Eco Club of Milagres College, Kallianpur, in association with IQAC, successfully organized the “Salumarada Thimmakka Green Drive – A Plantation Programme” on February 28, 2026, at the Miyawaki Forest area of the college campus.
The programme was conducted with the objective of promoting environmental awareness and encouraging students to actively participate in afforestation activities. The event was inspired by the life and service of Salumarada Thimmakka, whose dedication to planting and nurturing trees stands as a symbol of resilience and environmental responsibility. The programme began with the plantation of Malabar Spinach seeds.
NSS Programme Officers Mr. Ganesh Nayak and Mrs. Shubhalatha coordinated the event, while Mrs. Shylet Mathias, IQAC Coordinator, Mrs. Rekha, Librarian, and Mr. Ravinandan, PRO, were present during the programme. NSS volunteers actively participated in the plantation drive, enthusiastically planting different saplings and supporting the initiative with great commitment and teamwork.
The event witnessed energetic involvement from the students and served as a meaningful step toward environmental sustainability and community responsibility.
