Tallur Church declared a pilgrimage centre to commemorate the 800th anniversary of St. Francis of Assisi
ಉಡುಪಿ ಧರ್ಮಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯವು ,ತಲ್ಲೂರು ಸಂತ ಫ್ರಾನ್ಸಿಸ್ ಆಸ್ಸಿಸಿ ದೇವಾಲಯವನ್ನು 2026ರಲ್ಲಿ 800ನೇ ವರ್ಷದ ಸ್ಮರಣಾರ್ಥ ಸಂತ ಫ್ರಾನ್ಸಿಸ್ ವರ್ಷದ ಪ್ರಯುಕ್ತ ತೀರ್ಥಯಾತ್ರಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರವಾಗಿ ಘೋಷಿಸಿದೆ.
ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ, 15 ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 2026ರಂದು ನಡೆದ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಬಲಿಪೂಜೆಯ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ” ಸಂಪದ ”ಉಡುಪಿ ಡಯಾಸೀಸ್ ಇದರ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾದ ವಂದನೀಯ ಫಾ. ರೆಜಿನಾಲ್ಡ್ ಪಿಂಟೋ ಅವರು ಜೂಬಿಲಿ ವರ್ಷವನ್ನು ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿದರು. ಸಂತ ಫ್ರಾನ್ಸಿಸ್ ಅವರ ಅವಶೇಷವನ್ನು ಭಕ್ತರ ಗೌರವಪೂರ್ವಕ ಪೂಜೆಗೆ ದೇವಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಇರಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಚರ್ಚಿನ ಧರ್ಮಗುರುಗಳಾದ ವಂದನೀಯ ಫಾ. ಎಡ್ವಿನ್ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜಾ ಅವರು, ಪ್ರತೀ ಶುಕ್ರವಾರ ಸಂಜೆ 4 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ವಿಶೇಷ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಗಳು ನಡೆಯಲಿದ್ದು, ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಪನಿವೇದನೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಆರಾಧನೆ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಘೋಷಿಸಿದರು.
ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯವು ಐದು ಗ್ರಾಮಗಳಿಗೆ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ನಕ್ಷತ್ರಾಕಾರದ ವಿನ್ಯಾಸವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ. 600 ಭಕ್ತರು ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯ ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯವು ನಂಬಿಕೆಯ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಕೇಂದ್ರವಾಗಿದೆ.
ಸಂತ ಫ್ರಾನ್ಸಿಸ್ ಅವರ ನಿಧನದ 800ನೇ ವರ್ಷದ ಸ್ಮರಣಾರ್ಥ ಈ ವರ್ಷವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಶಾಂತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯ ಕಾಳಜಿಗೆ ವಿಶೇಷ ಮಹತ್ವ ನೀಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ.
ಭಕ್ತರು ನಿರ್ದಿಷ್ಟ ಷರತ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ಪೂರೈಸಿದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ಲೆನರಿ ಇಂಡುಜೆಲನ್ಸ್ (ಅನುಗ್ರಹ ಪೂರ್ಣ ಭೋಗ) ಪಡೆಯಬಹುದು. ಸಂತ ಫ್ರಾನ್ಸಿಸ್ ಅವರ ಬೋಧನೆಗಳು, ಸರಳತೆ, ವಿನಯ ಮತ್ತು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯ ಮೇಲಿನ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಿಹೇಳುತ್ತವೆ. ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ವಂದನೀಯ ಫಾ. ಎಡ್ವಿನ್ ಡಿ’ಸೂಜಾ ಅವರು ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಈ ವಿಶೇಷ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿ ಸಂತ ಫ್ರಾನ್ಸಿಸ್ ಅವರ ಮಹಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸಲು ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ದೇವಾಲಯವು ಹತ್ತಿರ ಮತ್ತು ದೂರದ ಯಾತ್ರಿಕರನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

Tallur ;The Roman Catholic Diocese of Udupi has declared St Francis Assisi Church, Tallur as a pilgrimage center for the Year of St. Francis (2026).
On this occasion, during the Holy Mass on 15th February 2026, the Jubilee Year was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Reginald Pinto, The Director of Sampada Udupi Diocese. A relic of St. Francis has been placed in the church for public veneration.
Rev. Fr. Edwin D’Souza, the Parish Priest, announced that special prayers will be held every Friday at 4:00 PM, including Confessions and Eucharistic Adoration.
The church serves five villages and has a unique star-shaped design. With a seating capacity of 600 devotees, St. Francis Assisi Church is an important center of faith.
The Year of St. Francis marks the 800th anniversary of the passing of Francis of Assisi, focusing on peace and care for creation.
The faithful can obtain a plenary indulgence by fulfilling the required conditions. The teachings of St. Francis emphasize simplicity, humility, and love for creation.
Fr. Edwin D’Souza invites everyone to participate in these special prayers and experience the joy of St. Francis. The church is preparing to welcome pilgrims from near and far.
