ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಹಬ್ಬಗಳನ್ನು ಜಾತಿಮತ ಧರ್ಮಗಳು ಮರೆತು ಆಚರಣೆ ‌ಮಾಡಿದಾಗ ಅದರ ಸಂಭ್ರಮದ ಸಂತೋಷ ನಿಜವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ವಾರ್ತಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಖಾದರ್ ಶಾ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಅವರು ಅಖಿಲಭಾರತ ಚಾರೊಳಿ ಚುಟುಕು ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಪರಿಷತ್ತು ರೇಮಂಡ್ ಡಿಕೂನಾ ತಾಕೊಡೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂತ ಅಲೋಶಿಯಸ್ ಡೀಮ್‌ಡ್ ಟು ಬಿ ಯುನಿವರ್ಸಿಟಿ ಇದರ ಸ್ಕೂಲ್ ಆಫ್ ಲ್ಯಾಂಗ್ವೇಜ್ ಅಂಡ್ ಕಲ್ಚರಲ್ ಸ್ಟಡೀಸ್, ಕೊಂಕಣಿ ಸಂಘ, ಇವುಗಳ ಜಂಟಿ ಆಶ್ರಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ಮಸ್ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಸಂಭ್ರಮದ ಕೇಕ್ ಕತ್ತರಿಸಿ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.
ಆಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದ ಅಲೋಶಿಯಸ್ ವಿವಿಯ ಕುಲಪತಿ ಫಾ ಡಾಕ್ಟರೇಟ್ ಪ್ರವೀಣ್ ಮಾರ್ಟಿನ್ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ನಾವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಪ್ರತೀಕರಾಗಲು ಈ ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವುದು. ಬೇರೆಬೇರೆ ರೀತಿಯ ಜೀವನ ಮಾಡಿದರೂ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಬಂಧನಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಪಡಲೇಬೇಕು ಎಂದರು.
ದಕ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರತ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರ ಸಂಘದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗದ ಪುಷ್ಪರಾಜ್ ಬಿಎನ್ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಜಾತಿ ಮತಧರ್ಮಗಳು ನಮಗೆ ಹಿರಿಯರು ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಕಾಣಿಕೆ ಆಗಿದೆ. ನಾವು ಅವುಗಳ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಸಕಲ ಜನವರಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಕೊಡುಗೆಯಾಗಿ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವ ಎಂದರು.
ಎಸ್ ಎಲ್ ಶೇಟ್ ಮಾಲಕ ಪ್ರಶಾಂತ ಶೇಟ್ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಇಂತಹ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ಮಸ್ ಆಚರಣೆ ಅಲ್ಲಲ್ಲಿ ಆಚರಣೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು ಆಗ ಜೊತೆಗಾರಿಕೆ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದರು.
ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸದಸ್ಯರು ಆದ ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸ ನಾಯಕ ಇಂದಾಜೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಅಲೋಶಿಯಸ್ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಅಂದರೆ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಹೊನಲಿನ ಬೆಳಕಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವ ಪರಿಸರ ಎಂದರು.
ದಕ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರತ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರ ಸಂಘದ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ರಾಜೇಶ್ ಕೆ ಪೂಜಾರಿ ,ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರುಗಳಾದ ರಾಜೇಶ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಲ್ಫ್ರೆಡ್ ಲೋಬೊ,ಕಾರ್ಯಕಾರಿ ಸದಸ್ಯರು ಆದ ಸಂದೀಪ್, ರೊಟರಿ ಕ್ಲಬ್ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಸೆಂಟ್ರಲ್ ಇದರ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಭಾಸ್ಕರ್ ರೈ ಕಟ್ಟ, ತುಳುವೆರೆ ಕಲಾ ತುಳುಲಿಪಿ ಭೋದಕರಾದ ಗೀತಾ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀಶ್, ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತೆ ಲೋಲಾಕ್ಚಿ ಫೆರ್ನಾಂಡೀಸ್, ಸಂತ ಅಲೋಶಿಯಸ್ ಕೊಂಕಣಿ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಎಚ್‌ಒಡಿ ಪ್ಲೊರಾ ಕಾಸ್ತೆಲಿನೊ, ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಸಂಚಾಲಕಿ ರೆನಿಟಾ ಅರಾನಾ ವೇದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದರು. ರೇಮಂಡ್ ಡಿಕೂನಾ ತಾಕೊಡೆ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು ರೆನಿಟಾ ಅರಾನಾ ವಂದಿಸಿದರು. ದಿಲ್ರೊಯ್, ರೊಜಿಟಾ, ಮತ್ತು ರಿಯೊನಾ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು.
ಬಹುಭಾಷಾ ಕವಿಗೋಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಗೀತಾ ಲಕ್ಮ್ಷೀಶ್ ತುಳು, ವೆಂಕಟೇಶ ಗಟ್ಟಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಿಂಥಿಯಾ ಲೊಬೊ ಪಡಿಲ್ ಕನ್ನಡ, ಜೂಲಿಯೆಟ್‌ ಫೆರ್ನಾಂಡೀಸ್ ಕೊಂಕಣಿ, ಎಡ್ವರ್ಡ್ ಲೊಬೊ ತೊಕ್ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಬ್ಯಾರಿ ಹಾಗೂ ರೇಮಂಡ್ ಡಿಕೂನಾ ತಾಕೊಡೆ ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್ ಕವಿತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಾಧರ ಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
ವಿಧ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಒರಿಯಾ, ಹಿಂದಿ, ಕನ್ನಡ, ತುಳು, ಕೊಂಕಣಿ ,ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್ ಭಾಷೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ಮಸ್ ಕ್ಯಾರಲ್ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಾತ್ಯಕ್ಷಿಕೆ ನೀಡಿದರು. ಕುಸ್ವಾರ್ ಸ್ವೀಟ್ಸ್ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಹಂಚಲಾಯಿತು.
ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಬ್ರಾಸ್ ಬ್ಯಾಂಡ್ ಸಂಗೀತ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಂತಕ್ಲೋಸ್ ಆಚರಣೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು.

Festivals bring true joy only when they are celebrated forgetting differences of caste, religion and creed, said Dakshina Kannada District Information Officer Khader Sha. He was speaking after inaugurating the Christmas celebrations by cutting the cake at a programme jointly organised by the All India Charoli Chutuku Sahitya Parishad, Raymond D’Cunha Taccode, and the School of Language and Cultural Studies, Konkani Association, St Aloysius Deemed-to-be University.

Presiding over the programme, Vice-Chancellor of St Aloysius University, Rev. Dr Praveen Martin SJ, said that all of us exist in this world to be symbols of love. Though people may lead different kinds of lives, everyone must ultimately be bound by love.

Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists’ Association President Pushparaj B.N. said that caste, religion and faith are legacies given to us by our elders, and through them we should offer love to all people as our contribution.

S. L. Diamond and jewellery Chairman Prashanth Shet said that such Christmas celebrations should be organised in many places, as they promote togetherness. Karnataka State Working Journalists’ Association member Srinivasa Nayak Indaje said that St Aloysius College stands as an institution that shines with the light of love.

Also present on the dais were Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists’ Association Secretary Rajesh K. Poojary; Vice-Presidents Rajesh Shetty and Wilfred Lobo; Executive Member Sandeep; Rotary Club Mangalore Central President Bhaskar Rai Katta; Tuluvere Kala Tulu Lipi instructor Geetha Lakshmish; social worker Lolakshi Fernandes; Head of the Konkani Department of St Aloysius, Flora Castelino; and programme coordinator Renita Arana. Raymond D’Cunha Taccode welcomed the gathering and Renita Arana proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was compered by Dilroy, Rosita and Riona.

In the multilingual poetry meet, Geetha Lakshmish recited in Tulu; Venkatesh Gatti and Cynthia Lobo Padil in Kannada; Juliet Fernandes in Konkani; Edward Lobo Thokottu in Beary; and Raymond D’Cunha Taccode in English.

Students presented Christmas carols and performances in Odia, Hindi, Kannada, Tulu, Konkani and English. Kuswar sweets were distributed to all. Students also presented a brass band performance and celebrated with Santa Claus.
