Bishop Duming Dias is the Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Shimoga 

ಮೈಸೂರು, ಅಕ್ಟೋಬರ್ 7, 2025; ಭಾರತ ಮತ್ತು ನೇಪಾಳಕ್ಕೆ ಅಪೋಸ್ಟೋಲಿಕ್ ನೂನ್ಸಿಯೊ, ಅತಿ ವಂ. ಡಾ. ಫ್ರಾನ್ಸಿಸ್ ಸೆರಾವ್ ಎಸ್‌ಜೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಮೈಸೂರು ಡಯಾಸಿಸ್‌ನ ಬಿಷಪ್ ಆಗಿ ನೇಮಿಸಿದ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ, ಕಾರವಾರ ಡಯಾಸಿಸ್‌ನ ಬಿಷಪ್ ಅತಿ ವಂ. ಡಾ. ಡುಮಿಂಗ್ ಡಯಾಸ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಡಯಾಸಿಸ್‌ನ ಅಪೋಸ್ಟೋಲಿಕ್ ಆಡಳಿತಾಧಿಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿ ತಕ್ಷಣದಿಂದ ಜಾರಿಗೆ ಬರುವಂತೆ ಘೋಷಿಸಿದರು.

ಅವರನ್ನು ಜನವರಿ 13, 2024 ರಂದು ಕಾರವಾರ ಡಯಾಸಿಸ್‌ನ ಬಿಷಪ್ ಆಗಿ ನೇಮಿಸಲಾಯಿತು ಮತ್ತು ಅವರ ಬಿಷಪ್ ಪವಿತ್ರೀಕರಣ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಾಪನೆ ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 9, 2024 ರಂದು ನಡೆಯಿತು.

ಬಿಷಪ್ ಡುಮಿಂಗ್ ಡಯಾಸ್ ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 3, 1969 ರಂದು ಹೊನ್ನಾವರದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಆಂಬ್ರೋಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಮಾರ್ಸೆಲಿನ್ ಡಯಾಸ್ ದಂಪತಿಗೆ ಜನಿಸಿದರು. ಅವರು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಸೇಂಟ್ ಪೀಟರ್ಸ್ ಪಾಂಟಿಫಿಕಲ್ ಸೆಮಿನರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತತ್ವಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಪದವಿ ಪಡೆದರು ಮತ್ತು ರೋಮ್‌ನ ಉರ್ಬಾನಿಯಾ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಯೋಜಿತವಾಗಿರುವ ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಸೇಂಟ್ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಸೆಮಿನರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಥಿಯಾಲಜಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪದವಿ ಪಡೆದರು. ಅವರನ್ನು ಮೇ 6, 1997 ರಂದು ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಡಯಾಸಿಸ್‌ಗೆ ಅರ್ಚಕರನ್ನಾಗಿ ನೇಮಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕವಾಗಿ, ಅವರು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದಿಂದ ಬಿ.ಎ. (1987-1990), ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದಿಂದ ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಎಂ.ಎ. (1990-92), ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗದ ಕುವೆಂಪು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದಿಂದ ಬಿ.ಎ. Bishop Duming Dias is the Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Shimoga 

Mysore, October 7, 2025; Apostolic Nuncio to India and Nepal His Excellency Most Rev. Dr Leopoldo Girelli, during the installation of Most Rev. Dr Francis Serrao SJ as Bishop of Diocese of Mysore announced Most Rev. Dr Duming Dias, Bishop of Diocese of Karwar as the Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Shimoga with immediate effect.

He was appointed Bishop of Diocese of Karwar on 13 January 2024 and his episcopal consecration and installation took place on 9 April 2024.

Bishop Duming Dias was born on September 3, 1969 at Honavar to Mr. Ambrose and Mrs. Marceline Dias. He did his Bachelor of Philosophy in St. Peter’s Pontifical Seminary, Bengaluru and the Bachelor of Theology in St. Joseph’s Seminary, Mangalore, affiliated to Urbaniana University, Rome. He was ordained a priest for the diocese of Shivamogga on May 6, 1997.

Academically, he holds: B.A. from Bangalore University (1987-1990), M.A. in English, from Bangalore University (1990-92), B.Ed from Kuvempu University, Shivamogga (1992-1993), M.Ed from KSOU, Mysore (1999-2001) and M.B.A.- Business Administration, from KSOU, Mysore (2009-2011).
