ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 20, 2025 ರ ಶನಿವಾರ, ಕ್ರೀಡಾಪಟುಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ತಂಡದ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪಕರು ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಾ ಸಮಾರಂಭವನ್ನು ವೀಕ್ಷಿಸಲು ಹಾಜರಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಸಭಾಂಗಣವು ತನ್ನ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ತಕ್ಕಂತೆ ತುಂಬಿತ್ತು, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಭಾವಪೂರ್ಣ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನಾ ಗೀತೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಇದನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರು, ನಂತರ NPU ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಉಷಾ ಕಿರಣ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಅವರು ಔಪಚಾರಿಕ ಆದರೆ ಸೌಹಾರ್ದಯುತ ಸ್ವಾಗತ ಭಾಷಣ ಮತ್ತು ಹೂವಿನ ಸ್ವಾಗತ ಮತ್ತು ಮನ್ನಣೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದರು.
‘ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಬಾರ್ಕೂರು ಹೋಬಳಿ, ತಾಲ್ಲೂಕು ಮತ್ತು ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಮಟ್ಟದ ಕ್ರೀಡಾಕೂಟಕ್ಕೆ ನೆಚ್ಚಿನ ತೊಟ್ಟಿಲಾಗಿ ಉಳಿದಿದೆ…..’ ‘ಜಂಪ್ ರೋಪ್ ಟೂರ್ನಮೆಂಟ್’ ನಂತರ ಸತತ 13 ನೇ ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ, ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ, ಮೂಲತಃ 2012 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಲಾದ ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಆಟ ಮತ್ತು ಅದರ ಸಮರ್ಥ ಮತ್ತು ಬಹುಮುಖ ದೈಹಿಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಶ್ರೀ ಉಮೇಶ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಅವರ ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದ ಬಾರ್ಕೂರಿನ ರೋಟರಿ ಕ್ಲಬ್ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೆ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಕಿಶೋರಿ ಸಚಿನಂದ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ವೇದಿಕೆಯ ಮೇಲಿದ್ದ ಗಣ್ಯರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ದೀಪ ಬೆಳಗಿಸಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಆರಂಭವನ್ನು ಘೋಷಿಸಿದರು. ತಮ್ಮ ಸಣ್ಣ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಾ ಭಾಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ, ಆಯೋಜಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವವರು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಯಶಸ್ಸು ಮತ್ತು ಈ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಸ್ಥಳ ಬಾರ್ಕೂರಿನಿಂದ ಮನೆಗೆ ಏನನ್ನಾದರೂ ಕೊಂಡೊಯ್ಯಲಿ ಎಂದು ಹಾರೈಸಿದರು, ಅಗತ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಟ್ರೋಫಿಗಳಲ್ಲ, ಬದಲಾಗಿ ವಿಭಿನ್ನ ರೀತಿಯ ಅನುಭವ.
ಗೌರವಾನ್ವಿತ ಅತಿಥಿ ಬಾರ್ಕೂರು ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ (ಬಿಇಎಸ್) ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಅಶೋಕ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಸಂದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರೀಡೆ ಮತ್ತು ಆಟಗಳ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು, ತಂಡ ಮನೋಭಾವ, ಗುರಿಯನ್ನು ತಲುಪುವಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹಕಾರ ಮತ್ತು ಜೀವಮಾನದ ಸ್ನೇಹವನ್ನು ಆನಂದಿಸುವುದು, ಮತ್ತು ಅದು ಅಂತಹ ಪಂದ್ಯಾವಳಿಗಳ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಉಡುಪಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ವಿವಿಧ ಕಾಲೇಜುಗಳಿಂದ ಬರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ತಂಡಗಳಿಗೆ ಶುಭಾಶಯಗಳನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
ಉತ್ತಮ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೀಯ ಭಾಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ, ಬಾರ್ಕೂರು ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಸಂಘದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಬಿ ಶಾಂತಾರಾಮ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಅವರು ವಿವಿಧ ಸ್ಕಿಪ್ ರೋಪ್ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಲು ಬಾರ್ಕೂರ್ಗೆ ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ ಯುವ ಹದಿಹರೆಯದವರಿಗೆ, ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯ ಪಟ್ಟಣ ಬಾರ್ಕೂರು ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಸ್ಥಳವಾಗಿದೆ, ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲು ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಪಡುತ್ತದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಆಡಳಿತ ಮಂಡಳಿಯು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರೀಡೆ ಮತ್ತು ಆಟಗಳನ್ನು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿ ಅಭಿನಂದಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ರೋಟರಿ ಕ್ಲಬ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಯೋಜಕರಿಗೆ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರು ಮತ್ತು ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ವರ್ಗದವರು ಮತ್ತು ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಪಿಡಿ ಮತ್ತು ತರಬೇತುದಾರ ಶ್ರೀ ಉಮೇಶ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಅವರ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಗಳನ್ನು ಶ್ಲಾಘಿಸಿದರು.
ಇತರರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ, ಪೋಷಕರ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರ ಸಂಘದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಜಗೋಪಾಲ್ ನಂಬಿಯಾರ್, ರೋಟರಿ ಬಾರ್ಕೂರಿನ ಪದಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ವೇದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
ವರ್ಣರಂಜಿತ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಮುಕ್ತಾಯಗೊಳಿಸಲು, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಮಾಸ್ಟರ್ ಮೈಂಡ್, NPU ನ ದೈಹಿಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ, ತಮ್ಮ ಸಹೋದ್ಯೋಗಿಗಳ ತಂಡದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಶ್ರೀ ಉಮೇಶ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ದೈಹಿಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರು, ಕಳೆದ 13 ವರ್ಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ 3 ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ, ಡಜನ್ಗಟ್ಟಲೆ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ನೂರಾರು ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಮಟ್ಟದ ಪಂದ್ಯಾವಳಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿರುವ NPUC ಬಾರ್ಕೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇದನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಲು ಸಹಕರಿಸಿದ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು.
ಜೀವಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಕಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಸೌಮ್ಯ ಅವರು ಕಿರು ಹಂತದ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮವಾಗಿ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ವಿವಿಧ ತಂಡಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಅವರ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ಅಭಿಮಾನಿಗಳ ನಿರಂತರ ಬೆಂಬಲ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಅವರ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತಾಪೂರ್ವಕ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಶ್ಲಾಘಿಸಿದರು.
ತೀವ್ರ ಪೈಪೋಟಿಯಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದ ಪಂದ್ಯಾವಳಿ ಅಂತಿಮ ಘಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ತಲುಪಿದ್ದು, ತಂಡವನ್ನು ಆತಿಥ್ಯ ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ನಿಜಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯ ಕ್ಷಣ. 19 ವರ್ಷದೊಳಗಿನ ಬಾಲಕ ಮತ್ತು ಬಾಲಕಿಯರ ಎನ್ಪಿಯು ಬಾರ್ಕೂರು ಜಂಪ್ ರೋಪ್ ತಂಡಗಳು 2025 ರ ಅಕ್ಟೋಬರ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಪ್ಪಳದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯಲಿರುವ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಮಟ್ಟದ ಕ್ರೀಡಾಕೂಟವನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಸಲು ಅರ್ಹತೆ ಪಡೆದಿವೆ.

On Saturday 20th September 2025, the National Auditorium was full to its capacity as the athletes and team managers were present to witness the opening ceremony, which was given a start by students with a soulful Prayer hymn followed by a formal but cordial welcome address by the Principal NPU – Mrs. Usha Kiran Shetty and floral reception and recognition.
‘Barkur was remained as a favorite cradle for Hobali, Taluk and Dist Level Games Tournament over the years…..’ as for a consecutive 13th year, the District level since ‘Jump rope Tournament’, a basically a traditional village game introduced in the year 2012 and successfully hosted under its able and versatile Physical education Director Mr. Umesh Shetty while sharing his introductory address Mr. Archibald Furtado, Admn Co coordinator of National Group of Educational Institutions revealed.
Chief Guest of the event, Mrs. Kishori Sachinand Shetty, the President of Rotary Club, Barkur lighted the traditional lamp to herald the beginning of the event along with dignitaries on the dais. In her short inaugural address wished both organizers and participants all success and carry something home from this holy place Barkur, not necessarily trophies but experience of a different kind.
The Guest of honor Mr. Ashok Kumar Shetty, the Secretary of the Barkur Education Society, (BES) in his message outlined the significance of sports and games in student life as the team spirit, cooperation in reaching the target and rejoicing a friendship of lifetime, and that is the strength of such tournaments and extended best wishes to all teams coming from various colleges of the Udupi District.
In his well conveyed Presidential address, Mr. B Shantarama Shetty, the President of the Barkur Educational Society, revealed to the young teenagers who arrived to Barkur to participate in various Skip rope events that, this temple town of Barkur a holy place of historical significance, proud to host this event and the Management always encourage sports and games over here. While welcoming and congratulating all the participants, thanked sponsors the Rotary Club, and appreciated the best efforts of the Principal and staff in general and PD and Coach Mr. Umesh Shetty in particular, in organizing this event.
Among others, Mr. Rajgopal Nambiar President of the Parent Teachers Association, Office bearers of Rotary Barkur, were present on the dais.
To conclude the colorful programme, Mr. Umesh Shetty Physical Education Director, Physical Director of NPU, master mind of all the arrangements with his team of co workers expressed heartfelt thanks to all who cooperated to make this took place here in NPUC Barkur which sent 3 national, dozens to State and hundreds to District level tournaments in the past 13 years.
Ms Sowmya, Lecturer in Biology meticulously anchored the short stage program and acknowledged the gracious presence of various teams and their managers and sports fans for their continued support and encouragement.
As the closely fought tournament coming to a nail biting finale, it’s truly a proud moment to host team, as the NPU Barkur Jump Rope Teams of both Boys and Girls under 19years qualified to Represent State Level Games slated to be held in Koppala in October, 2025.
