Milagres College NSS Inauguration Emphasizes Service and Leadership
ಮಿಲಾಗ್ರಿಸ್ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಪುರ ಎನ್ಎಸ್ಎಸ್ ಘಟಕಗಳು 2025-26 ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ವರ್ಷದ ಆರಂಭವನ್ನು ಆಗಸ್ಟ್ 22, 2025 ರಂದು ಆಡಿಯೋ-ವಿಶುವಲ್ ಹಾಲ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಗುರುತಿಸಿದವು. ಸಹಾಯಕ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕ ಡಾ. ಜಯರಾಮ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿಗಾರ್ ಅವರು ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿ ಮತ್ತು ಉದ್ಘಾಟಕರಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿದರು. ಸಮಾರಂಭವು ಸಾಂಕೇತಿಕ ಸಸ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ನೀರು ಹಾಕುವ ಆಚರಣೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಯಿತು, ಇದು ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಪೋಷಿಸುವ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
ಡಾ. ಶೆಟ್ಟಿಗಾರ್ ತಮ್ಮ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಭಾಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ, ಎನ್ಎಸ್ಎಸ್ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವಿಕೆಯ ದ್ವಿಗುಣ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನಗಳನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು: ಸಮಾಜಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುವುದು ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ವಯಂಸೇವಕರಲ್ಲಿ ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಮತ್ತು ನಾಯಕತ್ವದ ಗುಣಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸುವುದು. ಸಹಾನುಭೂತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸೇವೆಯ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ನಿರೂಪಿಸುವ ಎರಡು ಪ್ರಭಾವಶಾಲಿ ಘಟನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡರು, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಈ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಅಳವಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿದರು. ಡಾ. ಶೆಟ್ಟಿಗಾರ್ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಹಳೆಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ, 2007 ರ ಬ್ಯಾಚ್ ಪದವೀಧರ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾಜಿ ಎನ್ಎಸ್ಎಸ್ ಸ್ವಯಂಸೇವಕ ಶ್ರೀ ಜೆವಿನ್ಸನ್ ಅವರಿಂದ ಸ್ಫೂರ್ತಿ ಪಡೆದರು, ಅವರು ನೇತ್ರದಾನ ಪ್ರಚಾರ ಅಭಿಯಾನವನ್ನು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಈ ಉಪಕ್ರಮವು ಆಳವಾದ ಪರಿಣಾಮವನ್ನು ಬೀರಿತು, ಅನೇಕ NSS ಸ್ವಯಂಸೇವಕರು ತಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ದಾನ ಮಾಡಲು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸಿತು.
2025-26ನೇ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ NSS ನಾಯಕರನ್ನು ಹಿರಿಯ NSS ನಾಯಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಗಣೇಶ್ ಪೂಜಾರಿ ಘೋಷಿಸಿದರು. ಮಿಲಾಗ್ರಿಸ್ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ಡಾ. ವಿನ್ಸೆಂಟ್ ಆಳ್ವ ಅವರು ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೀಯ ಭಾಷಣಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದರು, ಶಿಸ್ತಿನ ಮಹತ್ವ ಮತ್ತು ಕನಿಷ್ಠ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬದುಕಲು ಮತ್ತು ಸವಾಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಿತಿಸ್ಥಾಪಕತ್ವದಿಂದ ಎದುರಿಸಲು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಲಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ NSS ನ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಪಾತ್ರವನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಉತ್ತಮವಾಗಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು, ಎರಡನೇ ವರ್ಷದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಆಸ್ತಿಕ್ ಅವರು ಸಂಚಾಲಕರಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಎರಡನೇ ವರ್ಷದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ವೈಶಾಲಿ ಸ್ವಾಗತ ಭಾಷಣ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಅಂತಿಮ ವರ್ಷದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಗಣೇಶ್ ಪೂಜಾರಿ ಅವರ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಮುಕ್ತಾಯವಾಯಿತು.
ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಗೌರವಾನ್ವಿತ ಅಧ್ಯಾಪಕ ಸದಸ್ಯರು, ಉಪ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಸೋಫಿಯಾ ಡಯಾಸ್; ಐಕ್ಯೂಎಸಿ ಸಂಯೋಜಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಶೈಲೆಟ್ ಮಥಾಯಿಸ್; ಶ್ರೀ ಗಣೇಶ್ ನಾಯಕ್; ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಶುಭಲತಾ, NSS ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು; ಮತ್ತು ಇತರ ಬೋಧನಾ ಮತ್ತು ಆಡಳಿತ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ವರ್ಷದ NSS ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ಒಂದು ಹೆಜ್ಜೆ ಮುಂದಿಟ್ಟಿತು, ಸ್ವಯಂಸೇವಕರು ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣ ಸೇವೆ ಮತ್ತು ನಾಯಕತ್ವ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿತು.
Milagres College NSS Inauguration Emphasizes Service and Leadership
Milagres College Kallinpur’s NSS units marked the beginning of the 2025-26 academic year with a significant inauguration programme held at the Audio-Visual Hall on August 22, 2025. Dr. Jayaram Shettigar, Adjunct Professor, graced the event as the chief guest and inaugurator. The ceremony commenced with a symbolic plant-watering ritual, highlighting the importance of nurturing values and growth.
In his keynote address, Dr. Shettigar underscored the dual benefits of NSS participation: serving society and fostering personal development and leadership qualities among volunteers. He shared two impactful incidents that exemplified the significance of compassion and service, inspiring the students to embrace these values. Dr. Shettigar also drew inspiration from the college’s alumnus, Mr. Jewinson, a 2007 batch graduate and former NSS volunteer, who had initiated a successful eye donation promotion campaign. This initiative had a profound impact, encouraging many NSS volunteers to pledge their eyes for donation.
The programme proceeded with Mr. Ganesh Poojary, senior NSS leader, announcing the NSS leaders for the academic year 2025-26. Dr. Vincent Alva, Principal of Milagres College, delivered the presidential remarks, emphasizing the importance of discipline and the pivotal role of NSS in teaching students to live with minimal facilities and face challenges with resilience.
The event was well-organized, with Mr. Asthik, a second-year student, acting as the compere, and Ms. Vaishali, also a second-year student, delivering the welcome speech. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Ganesh Poojary, a final-year student.
The event was attended by esteemed faculty members, including Mrs. Sophia Dias, Vice Principal; Mrs. Shylet Mathais, IQAC Coordinator; Mr. Ganesh Nayak; Mrs. Shubhalatha, NSS officers; and other teaching and administrative staff. The programme successfully set the tone for the NSS activities for the year, inspiring volunteers to engage in meaningful service and leadership development.
