ಜೂನ್ 5, 2025 ರಂದು ನಾಗಾಲ್ಯಾಂಡ್‌ನ ಸೇಂಟ್ ಕ್ಲೇರ್ ಶಾಲೆ ಅಕುಲುಟೊದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶ್ವ ಪರಿಸರ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು, ಇದು ಪರಿಸರ ಉಸ್ತುವಾರಿಯ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಿಹೇಳಿತು. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು 5 ರಿಂದ 10 ನೇ ತರಗತಿಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಒಟ್ಟುಗೂಡಿಸಿತು, ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರೂ ಶಾಲೆಗೆ ಒಂದು ಸಸಿಯನ್ನು ತರುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಹಸಿರು ಉಪಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ನೀಡಿದರು. ದಿನವು ವಿಶೇಷ ಸಭೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಯಿತು, ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ್ಯೋಪಾಧ್ಯಾಯ ಫಾದರ್ ಸ್ಟೀಫನ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಉದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಾ, ‘ನಮ್ಮ ಪರಿಸರವನ್ನು ಸಂರಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು’ ಒತ್ತಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಪರಿಸರ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನದ ಪೋಷಕರಾದ ಸೇಂಟ್ ಫ್ರಾನ್ಸಿಸ್ ಆಫ್ ಅಸ್ಸಿಸಿಯ ಬೋಧನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರು ಎತ್ತಿ ತೋರಿಸಿದರು, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ತಮ್ಮ ದೈನಂದಿನ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಪರಿಸರ ಸ್ನೇಹಿ ಅಭ್ಯಾಸಗಳನ್ನು ಅಳವಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿದರು.
ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ, ಸರ್ ಮೋವಾ ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಯನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸುವ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಕುರಿತು ಆಕರ್ಷಕ ಭಾಷಣ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಅವರ ಸಂವಾದಾತ್ಮಕ ಅಧಿವೇಶನವು ಯುವ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಧ್ವನಿಸುವ ಕಥೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿತ್ತು, ಪರಿಸರದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯ ಪ್ರಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸಿತು. ಆಚರಣೆಯ ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಲಕ್ಷಣವೆಂದರೆ ಸಸ್ಯ ವಿನಿಮಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಗೆಳೆಯರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಸ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ವಿನಿಮಯ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು, ಇದು ಏಕತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಂಕೇತಿಸುತ್ತದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಸರವನ್ನು ಪೋಷಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡಿತು. ಅವರ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪರಿಸರ ಜಾಗೃತಿಯ ಪರಿಣಾಮವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ, ತಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಯ ಆವರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ನೆಡಲು ಅವರನ್ನು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

On June 5, 2025 St. Clare School Akuluto – Nagaland marked World Environment Day with a vibrant celebration that underscored the importance of environmental stewardship. The event brought together students from classes 5 to 10, each contributing to the green initiative by bringing a plant to school. The day commenced with a special assembly where Headmaster Fr. Stephen Dsouza addressed the students, emphasizing the significance of preserving our environment. He highlighted the teachings of St. Francis of Assisi, the Patron of Ecology, inspiring students to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives.
For the primary students, Sir Moa delivered an engaging talk on the importance of saving nature. His interactive session included stories and activities that resonated with the young audience, fostering a sense of responsibility towards the environment. A unique feature of the celebration was the plant exchange program. Students exchanged plants with their peers, symbolizing unity and shared responsibility in nurturing the environment.
