Davanagere, Harihara, September 7, 2023: Ninth day’s Novena at Our Lady of Health, Minor Basilica, Harihara, Davanagere District, Diocese of Shimoga, began at 5:30pm with Rosary, Procession and floral homages to Harihara Matha. Then Basilica Rector & Parish Priest Rev. Fr George K. A led the Novena.

At 6:30pm Most Rev. Dr Robert Miranda, Bishop of Diocese of Gulbarga celebrated Holy Eucharist. He preached his homily on the theme: “Mother Mary is an inspiration for hospitality”.  

In his homily explained how Blessed Virgin Mary became an inspiration for hospitality in her life. He said that her visit to Elizabeth, then her quality of helping without complaining is really an inspiration for all of us. 

Most Rev. Dr Francis Serrao SJ, Bishop of Diocese of Shimoga concelebrated the Holy Eucharist. Rev. Fr Roman Pinto, Rev. Fr Venil D’Silva, Rev. Fr Richard SJ, Rev. Fr Franklin D’Souza, Rev. Fr Rayappa, Rev. Fr Ronald Furtado OCD, Fr Ronald D’Cunha, Rev. Fr Shanthraj SJ, Rev. Fr Prashanth OFM CAP, Rev. Fr William OFM CAP, Rev. Fr Alphonse Lobo,  Rev. Fr Duming Dias, Rev. Fr Alvin Stanislaus and Rev. Fr George K. A concelebrated the Holy Eucharist. 

After the Mass Rev. Fr Franklin D’Souza, Rev. Fr Roman Pinto led the healing prayers and benediction and priests prayed over the pilgrims.

ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಡೆಕ್ಕನ್‌ ವೆಲ್ಫೇರ್‌ ಅಸೋಸಿಯೇಶನ್‌ (ರಿ.) ಭಟ್ಕಳ ಇದರ ಆಶ್ರಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಜರಗಿದ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರ ದಿನಾಚರಣೆ ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿ ಸ್ಥಾನದಿಂದ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.

ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಅಕಾಡೆಮಿ ಆಫ್‌ ಎಜ್ಯುಕೇಶನಲ್‌ಡೆವಲಫ್‌ಮೆಂಟ್‌ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್‌ (ರಿ) ಉಡುಪಿ ಇದರ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಅಮ್ಜದ್‌ ಅಲಿ ಇಬ್ರಾಹಿಂ ಶೇಖ್‌ ಅವರು ಐಎಎಸ್‌, ಐಪಿಎಸ್‌, ಐಎಫ್‌ಎಸ್‌ ಮುಂತಾದ ಶಿಕ್ಷ ಣದ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗಳನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಪೂರಕವಾದ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಲಹೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದರು. ಸಭೆಯ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಸ್ಥಾನವನ್ನು ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಡಾ। ನಸೀಮ್‌ ಅಹ್ಮದ್‌ ಖಾನ್‌ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು.

“ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಆನಂದ್‌ ಆಶ್ರಮ್‌ ಪಿಯು ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲ ಸಿಸ್ಟರ್‌ ವಿನೂತಾ ಡಿ’ ಸೋಜಾ, ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ನಜೀರ್‌ ಅಹ್ಮದ್‌ ಶೇಖ್‌, ಖಜಾಂಚಿ ಇಫ್ತಿಖಾರ್‌, ಮೊಹಮ್ಮದ್‌ ಫಾರೂಖ್‌ ಶೇಖ್‌ ಮುಂತಾದವರು ವೇದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು. ಈ ಸ೦ದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕಿಯರಾದ ಐ.ಡಿ. ಖಾನ್‌, ಅನುರಾಧ ಹೆಬ್ಬಾರ್‌, ಕೆ ಮಾಲತಿ, ಸಿಸ್ಟರ್‌ ವಿನೂತಾ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜಾ, ಹಸೀನಾ ಬಾನು ಶೇಖ್‌, ಜ್ಯೋತಿ ಬಿ. ಆಚಾರಿ, ಮೊಹಮ್ಮದ್‌ ಇಸಾಕ್‌ ಖಾನ್‌ ಹಾಗೂ ಶಾಹಬುದ್ದೀನ್‌ ಶೇಖ್‌ ಇವರನ್ನು ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಹಿರಿಯ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮಿಕ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಉತ್ತೀರ್ಣ ಹೊಂದಿದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಪತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಲಾಯಿತು.

ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಖಾಜಾ ಶೇಖ್‌ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು.

ಸಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 4, 2023, ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಸೈಕೋ-ಸೋಷಿಯಲ್ ರಿಹಾಬಿಲಿಟೇಶನ್ ಸೆಂಟರ್ ಫಾರ್ ಮೆನ್ ಮತ್ತು ವುಮೆನ್, ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರನಲ್ಲಿ ‘ದಿ ಕಲರ್ ಓಣಂ 2K23’ ಅನ್ನು ಅಪಾರ ಉತ್ಸಾಹ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಜ್ರಂಭಣೆಯಿಂದ ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಉತ್ಸಾಹ ಹಾಗೂ  ಸಂತೋಷದ ಅಬ್ಬರಗಳು ಮುಗಿಲೇರಿದಾಗ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ವಾತಾವರಣವೇ  ರೋಮಾಂಚಕ ಬಣ್ಣಗಳ ಸ್ವರ್ಗವಾಗಿ ಮಾರ್ಪಾಡಾಯಿತು. ಈ ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ದೇವರ ನಾಡಿನ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ವೈವಿಧ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ದೈಹಿಕ ಯೋಗಕ್ಷೇಮವನ್ನು ಉತ್ತೇಜಿಸುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಲಾಯಿತು

ಕೇರಳದ ಸುಗ್ಗಿಯ ಹಬ್ಬವಾದ ಓಣಂ ಅನ್ನು ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ರಾಜ್ಯದಾದ್ಯಂತ ಸಂಭ್ರಮದಿಂದ ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಆದಾಗ್ಯೂ, ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಗಳು ಒಗ್ಗೂಡಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ ಕಾರಣ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಒಂದು ಅವಿಸ್ಮರಣೀಯ ಅನುಭವವನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿತು. ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಆವರಣವನ್ನು ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ಓಣಂ ಅಲಂಕಾರದಿಂದ ಅಲಂಕರಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು, ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಹೂವಿನ ರಂಗೋಲಿಗಳು (ಪೂಕಳಂಗಳು) ಮತ್ತು ವರ್ಣರಂಜಿತ ಹೂವಿನ ಅಲಂಕಾರಗಳು ಸೇರಿದ್ದವು. ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳು ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ಕೇರಳದ ಉಡುಪನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿದ್ದರು, ಮಹಿಳೆಯರು ಸೊಗಸಾದ ಸೀರೆಗಳನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿದ್ದರು ಮತ್ತು ಪುರುಷರು ಬಿಳಿ ಧೋತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಶರ್ಟ್‌ಗಳನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿದ್ದರು.

ಈ ಸಂಧರ್ಬದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತಾನಾಡಿದ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾದ ಬ್ರೋ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾ ಅವರು ‘ದಿ ಕಲರ್ ಓಣಂ 2K23’ ಆಚರಣೆಯ ಯಶಸ್ಸಿನ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಹರ್ಷವನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು, “ಓಣಂ ಒಗ್ಗಟ್ಟಿನ ಮನೋಭಾವ ಮತ್ತು ಐಕ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಸುವ ಒಂದು ಮನೊರಂಜಕ ಉತ್ಸವವಾಗಿದೆ ಹಾಗೂ  ಇಂತಹ ಹಬ್ಬಗಳು ನಮ್ಮ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಯೋಗಕ್ಷೇಮಕ್ಕೆ ಧನಾತ್ಮಕ ಕೊಡುಗೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಅವರ ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿನ ನಗುವನ್ನು ತರುವ ಒಂದು ಮಾಧ್ಯಮವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ನುಡಿದರು”

ಹಬ್ಬದ ಸಂಭ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಪೂರಕವಾಗಿ ‘ತಿರುವತಿರ ಕಲಿ’ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಆಕರ್ಷಕವಾದ ನೃತ್ಯದ ಚಲನೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸಿಂಕ್ರೊನೈಸ್ ಮಾಡಿದ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಗಳಿಂದ ನರ್ತಕಿಯರು ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರ ಹ್ರದಯಗಳನ್ನು ಸೂರೆಗೈದರು.  ಅನಂತರ ಓಣಂನ ರುಚಿಕರವಾದ ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ಔತಣವನ್ನು ವಿತರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

Chitradurga, Hiriyur, September 5, 2023: Teachers day was celebrated in grand manner at Assumption School, Hiriyur, Chitradurga District, Diocese of Shimoga. 

At 7:30am children welcomed Teachers and Manager with school band. Then the student Anisha led the program. Students gave 20 meaningful program for Teachers. They showed their gratitude through their heart touching performances. 

Manager and Corresspondent Rev. Fr Franklin D’Souza together with HMs Mr. Henry Crasta, Sr. Martha, Sr. Veronica and Rev. Fr Alphonse Nelson D’Souza garlanded the photo of Sri. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan.

Students conducted games for the teachers in previous week. Prizes were distributed by Rev. Fr Franklin D’Souza. 

From the management side every teacher was given a gift.

Manager and Corresspondent Rev.  Fr Franklin D’Souza wished the teachers in his speech. He appreciated their dedication in forming the students of the school. He said that teachers day is as important as the birthday of parents at home. At home as parents take care, in the school teachers take care of the students. We should be always grateful to their sacrificial service to each one of us. He blessed the students as well as teachers end of his speech. 

Teacher Tanuja thanked the students on behalf of all the teachers.

Library Week 2023 (August 28 – September 1) at St Agnes PU College began with a flurry of programmes that set an exciting tone to the whole event and sent an adrenaline rush among the students who enthusiastically participated in the numerous competitions and won prizes.

The book exhibition held in connection with the Library Week Celebrations was inaugurated by Dr Vishala BK, Chief Librarian, St Agnes College. She stressed the value of reading books to accomplish lofty goals in life. Books are a veritable gold mine of life skills because it enhances confidence and enables one to face challenges boldly. She expressed her appreciation and congratulated the students for planning and organizing the whole event in a unique and engaging manner.

The cultural cornucopia that set the tone for the rest of the week included a kathak group dance, Book Review, Book Cinematic, Pick and Speak, Poetry writing et al. The purpose of celebrating Library Week was to raise awareness about the scope of libraries and the inestimable role they play in society. This is significant especially in this automated age where technology is paramount.

Ms Caroline warmly welcomed the audience, Ms Manvitha ably compered the programme, while Ms Vaishnavi delivered the vote of thanks. Ms Hannah spoke on the significance of library week and Ms Diya conducted a quiz on the occasion. The dignitaries the Principal SrNorineDSouza, Vice Principal Sr Janet Sequeira, the convenor Dr TressieMenezes andthe Lecturer Mrs AvithaDSouzawitnessed the programme along with the faculty and students.

Chitradurga, September 4 ,2023: Our Lady of Velanganni Sub Station of Holy Family Church, Chitradurga, celebrated its annual feast of Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary on September 3rd.

August 31st was the flag hoisting done by Rev. Fr Richard Anil D’Souza, Dean of Holy Family Deanery and,Mission Director of Infant Jesus Church,  Challakere. 

September 1st & 2nd, Rev. Fr Pius D’Souza, Diocesan Youth Director of Diocese of Shimoga prepared spiritually through retreat and held confessions. He also led the healing prayers and Holy Eucharist. 

On September 3rd, Rev. Fr Franklin D’Souza, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Assumption Church, Hiriyur, Chitradurga District was the main celebrant of the feast. Festal celebrations began with Holy Rosary at 10am. Then Fr Franklin D’Souza celebrated Holy Eucharist at 10:30am. Parish Priest Rev. Fr Clarence Dias, Rev. Fr Stany Mariyappa,  Rev. Fr Lawrence SDB & Rev. Fr Stephen SDB concelebrated the Holy Eucharist. 

In his homily Fr Franklin D’Souza spoke on the Values of the family of Blessed Virgin Mary. He spoke on Joachim, Anne & Mary family, Zacharias, Elizabeth & John the Baptist family. He also spoke on Herod and Herodias who went against the family values. He invited faithful to follow the footsteps of Blessed Virgin Mary. He said that external beauty of the feast should radiate internal disposition. He said the greatest gift the we can give or offer is our heart which should be pure. Then he prayed a healing prayer for the faithful. 

After the Mass there was a decorated chariot procession by the faithful. 

Then Fr Franklin D’Souza led the adoration and prayed for the people. Which concluded with benediction. 

Cultural programmes were organised by the Sub station children. 

Parish Priest Fr Clarence Dias thanked the Donors as well as priests and religious. He also thanked everyone those who supported for the feast.

Meals was served for all those gathered.  Around 350 faithful participated in the festal celebration.

Davanagere, Harihara, September 5, 2023: Seventh day’s Novena at Our Lady of Health, Minor Basilica, Harihara, Davanagere District, Diocese of Shimoga, began at 5:30pm with flag hoisting done at “Darshana Degula” (Apparition place) Chapel by Shri. Harish, MLA of Harihara constituency.

Then there was Rosary and floral homages to Harihara Matha. Then Basilica Rector & Parish Priest Rev. Fr George K. A. led the Novena.

At 6:30pm Rev. Fr Anthony Nazareth, Parish Priest of St. Thomas Church, Davanagere, offered the Holy Eucharist. He preached his homily on the theme: “Mother Mary is a model for upbringing of children in the family”. 

In his homily he explained that role of parents in upbringing of the children in the family. Mother Mary is the perfect role model in upbringing of our children. The role she played as Mother of Jesus is really praise worthy.  She knew the plan of God. But didn’t know how it will take place. She walked in faith and never compromised values if life. Her prayer life and faith influenced many around her.

Rev. Fr George K A, Rev. Fr Venil D’Silva, Rev. Fr Richard SJ and Rev. Fr Shanthraj SJ concelebrated the Holy Eucharist. 

After the Mass Rev. Fr Anthony Nazareth led the benediction and priests prayed over the pilgrims.
