ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ವಂಶಾವಳಿ ತಿಳಿಯಲು ಚರ್ಚ್ ದಾಖಲೆ ನೋಡಿದರೆ ಸಾಕು ಆದರೆ ಅದೊಂದು ಕುತೂಹಲ ತಣಿಸುವ ಕೆಲಸ ಬಿಟ್ಟರೆ ಬೇರೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಉಪಯೋಗ ಕಾಣಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಎಂದು ವಂಶಾವಳಿಗಳು ಹುಡುಕಿ ಹತ್ತುಸಾವಿರ ಪುಟಗಳ ಪುಸ್ತಕ ಬರೆದು ಪ್ರಕಟ ಮಾಡಿದ ಮತ್ತು ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ವಿದೇಶಿ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ ಡಾಕ್ಟರೇಟ್ ಪಡೆದ ವಂಶಾವಳಿ ತಜ್ಞ ಡಾ ಮೈಕಲ್ ಲೋಬೊ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಅವರು ಕೊಂಕಣಿ ಭಾಷಾ ಮಂಡಳ್ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ (ರಿ) ಇದರ 52ನೇ ವರ್ಷದ ಸ್ಥಾಪನಾ ದಿನದ ಪ್ರಯುಕ್ತ ಬಿಇಎಮ್ ಸ್ಕೂಲ್ ಕಾರ್ಸ್ಟ್ರೀಟ್ ಸಭಾಂಗಣದಲ್ಲಿ ತೌರೊ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಸಹಯೋಗದೊಂದಿಗೆ ನಡೆದ ವಂಶಾವಳಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಭಾಷಣಕಾರರಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ದೀಪ ಬೆಳಗಿಸಿ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ವಜ್ರೋದ್ಯಮಿ ಎಸ್ ಎಲ್ ಪ್ರಶಾಂತ್ ಶೇಟ್ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ವಿಭಿನ್ನ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಮಾಡಿ ಕೊಂಕಣಿ ಭಾಷಾ ಮಂಡಳ್ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಕೊಂಕಣಿ ಜನರ ಅಗತ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಪೂರೈಸಲು ಹವಣಿಸುವುದು ನಿಜವಾದ ಕೆಬಿಎಂಕೆ ಉದ್ದೇಶದ ಈಡೇರಿಕೆಕಡೆಗೆ ಸಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹರ್ಷ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ರೇಮಂಡ್ ಡಿಕೂನಾ ತಾಕೊಡೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ,ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ, ಕೇರಳ, ಗೋವ,ಮಹಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಂಕಣಿ ಭಾಷಾ ಮಂಡಳಗಳಿದ್ದು ಅವುಗಳ ಕೆಲಸ ಕೊಂಕಣಿ ಚಳುವಳಿ ಆಗಿದೆ. ಹಿಂದೆ ಅಕಾಡೆಮಿ ಆಗಲು, ಎಂಟನೇ ಪರಿಚ್ಛೇದ ಮಾನ್ಯತೆ ಸಿಗಲು ಹೋರಾಟದ ಮಂಚೂಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದೆವು. ಈಗ ಕೊಂಕಣಿ ಭವನ, ಎಂಎ ಆಗಲು ಸದಾ ಚಳುವಳಿ ಮಾಡಲು ಅಣಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆ ಎಂದರು.

ತೌರೊ ಒಂದು ವಂಶಾವಳಿ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ನೊಯೆಲ್ ತಾವ್ರೊ ಅದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದ ಕುತೂಹಲಕರ ಜನರು ವಂಶಾವಳಿ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಅನುಭವ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡರು.
ಖಜಾಂಜಿ ವಸಂತ ರಾವ್ ಮತ್ತು ಗೀತಾ ಸಿ ಕಿಣಿ, ಜೂಲಿಯೆಟ್ ಫರ್ನಾಂಡೀಸ್ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೋತ್ತರ ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟರು.
ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಮೀನಾಕ್ಷಿ ಎನ್ ಪೈ ಮತ್ತು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರ ಸಂಘದ ಮಾಜಿ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಸ್ಟೇನಿ ತೌರೊ ಸಮಾರೋಪ ಭಾಷಣ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
ಮೊದಲಿಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕಾರಿ ಸದಸ್ಯ ಆದ ರೊಬರ್ಟ್ ಮೆನೆಜಸ್ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿ, ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಲಿಸ್ಟನ್ ಡಿಸೋಜ ವಂದಿಸಿದರು. ಜೊಸ್ಸಿ ಪಿಂಟೊ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು.

Genealogy expert Dr. Michael Lobo opined that learning about one’s genealogy is mainly useful for satisfying curiosity. He said that for Christians, it is enough to look at church records to trace family lineage, but apart from fulfilling curiosity, it does not have much practical use. Dr. Lobo, who researched genealogies and published a ten-thousand-page book on the subject and also received a doctorate from a foreign university for his work, shared these views while speaking as the keynote speaker at a genealogy programme.
The programme was organized on the occasion of the 52nd Foundation Day of Konkani Bhasha Mandal Karnataka at the BEM School, Car Street Hall, with the cooperation of the Touro family.
S.L. Shet Diamond & Jewellers chirman S. L. Prashanth Shet, who inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp, said that by organizing various meaningful programmes, the Konkani Bhasha Mandal Karnataka is moving towards fulfilling its true objective of addressing the needs of the Konkani community.
Presiding over the programme, President Raymond D’Cunha Taccode said that Konkani language associations exist in Karnataka, Kerala, Goa, and Maharashtra, and their work is part of the Konkani movement. He noted that earlier they were at the forefront of struggles for the formation of an academy and for recognition under the Eighth Schedule, and now they are prepared to continue the movement for a Konkani Bhavan and for postgraduate (MA) studies in Konkani.
Chief guest John A.Touro Kamath conveyed her best wishes. Noel Touro, who had researched the genealogy of the Touro family, explained details about the family lineage.
Participants who attended the programme also shared their experiences and information related to genealogy.
Treasurer Vasanth Rao, Geetha C. Kini, and Juliet Fernandes conducted the question-and-answer session.
Vice President Meenakshi N. Pai and State Teachers’ Association Former Vice President Stany Touro delivered the concluding remarks.
