ಮಂಗಳೂರು; ಕ್ರಿಶ್ಚಿಯನ್ ಸ್ಪೋರ್ಟ್ಸ್ ಅಸೋಸಿಯೇಷನ್ (CSA), ಮಂಗಳೂರು ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಕ್ರಿಶ್ಚಿಯನ್ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಸದಸ್ಯರಿಗಾಗಿ ಆಗಸ್ಟ್ 2, 2026ರಂದು ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಕೊಡಿಯಾಲ್ಬೈಲ್ನ ಸಂತ ಅಲೋಶಿಯಸ್ ಪ್ರೌಢಶಾಲೆಯ ಸಭಾಂಗಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಚೆಸ್ ಪಂದ್ಯಾವಳಿಯನ್ನು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಾ ಸಮಾರಂಭವು ಶ್ರೀ ವಿಲ್ಸನ್ ಮಾರ್ಟಿಸ್ ಅವರ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಆರಂಭಗೊಂಡಿತು. ನಂತರ ಅಸೋಸಿಯೇಷನ್ನ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಆಗ್ನೆಲ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ ಅವರು ಸ್ವಾಗತ ಭಾಷಣ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ದೈಜಿವರ್ಲ್ಡ್ ಮೀಡಿಯಾ ಪ್ರೈವೇಟ್ ಲಿಮಿಟೆಡ್ನ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ವಾಲ್ಟರ್ ನಂದಳಿಕೆ, ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಯುವ ಸಬಲೀಕರಣ ಮತ್ತು ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಉಪನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಪ್ರದೀಪ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ, ಹಾಗೂ ಅಂತರರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಚೆಸ್ ಮಾಸ್ಟರ್ ಮಾಸ್ಟರ್ ಆರೋನ್ ರೀವ್ ಮೆಂಡಿಸ್ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು. ಸಂತ ಅಲೋಶಿಯಸ್ ಪ್ರೌಢಶಾಲೆಯ ಮುಖ್ಯೋಪಾಧ್ಯಾಯರಾದ ರೆವ್. ಫಾ. ಜಾನ್ಸನ್ ಪಿಂಟೋ ಎಸ್.ಜೆ. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಸ್ಟರ್ ಆರೋನ್ ರೀವ್ ಮೆಂಡಿಸ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಆರೂಷಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಚೆಸ್ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಧಿಸಿದ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಸಾಧನೆಗಾಗಿ ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳು ಕ್ರಿಶ್ಚಿಯನ್ ಸ್ಪೋರ್ಟ್ಸ್ ಅಸೋಸಿಯೇಷನ್ನ ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹದ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಶ್ಲಾಘಿಸಿ, ಸ್ಪರ್ಧಿಗಳು ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ಮನೋಭಾವದಿಂದ ಉತ್ತಮ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ನೀಡುವಂತೆ ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿದರು.
ಪಂದ್ಯಾವಳಿಯು ಅಂಡರ್-10 ಬಾಲಕರ, ಅಂಡರ್-10 ಬಾಲಕಿಯರ, ಅಂಡರ್-13 ಬಾಲಕರ, ಅಂಡರ್-13 ಬಾಲಕಿಯರ, ಅಂಡರ್-16 ಬಾಲಕರ, ಅಂಡರ್-16 ಬಾಲಕಿಯರ, ಓಪನ್ ಪುರುಷರ ಹಾಗೂ ಓಪನ್ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರ ವಿಭಾಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯಿತು. ವಿವಿಧ ವಯೋಮಾನದ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧಿಗಳು ಉತ್ಸಾಹದಿಂದ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿ, ದಿನವಿಡೀ ರೋಚಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧಾತ್ಮಕ ಪಂದ್ಯಗಳು ನಡೆದವು.
ಪಂದ್ಯಾವಳಿಯನ್ನು ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅರ್ಬಿಟರ್ ಶ್ರೀ ಕೌಶಿಕ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಅವರ ತಂಡ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಸಮರ್ಥವಾಗಿ ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟರು. ಸಂತ ಅಲೋಶಿಯಸ್ (ಡೀಮ್ಡ್ ಟು ಬಿ ಯೂನಿವರ್ಸಿಟಿ)ಯ ಬಿ.ವಾಕ್ ಸ್ಪೋರ್ಟ್ಸ್ ಮ್ಯಾನೇಜ್ಮೆಂಟ್ ವಿಭಾಗದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಕ್ರಿಯವಾಗಿ ಸಹಕರಿಸಿದರು.
ಸಂಜೆ ನಡೆದ ಸಮಾರೋಪ ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಂಸಿಸಿ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್ ಲಿಮಿಟೆಡ್ನ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಅನಿಲ್ ಲೋಬೋ ಹಾಗೂ ಲುಡ್ರಿಕ್ ಗ್ರೂಪ್ ಆಫ್ ಕಂಪನೀಸ್ನ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ಪಾಲುದಾರರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಯ್ ರೋಡ್ರಿಗಸ್ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಂಡು ವಿಜೇತರಿಗೆ ಬಹುಮಾನ ವಿತರಿಸಿ ಅಭಿನಂದಿಸಿದರು.
ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಾ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಮಾರೋಪ ಸಮಾರಂಭಗಳನ್ನು ಶ್ರೀ ಮೆಲ್ವಿನ್ ಪೆರಿಸ್ ಅವರು ಅಚ್ಚುಕಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು.
ಈ ಪಂದ್ಯಾವಳಿಯ ಯಶಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಕ್ರಿಶ್ಚಿಯನ್ ಸ್ಪೋರ್ಟ್ಸ್ ಅಸೋಸಿಯೇಷನ್ನ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಶ್ರೀ ಆಗ್ನೆಲ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ, ಸಂಚಾಲಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಅರುಣ್ ಬ್ಯಾಪ್ಟಿಸ್ಟ್, ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಲಾರೆನ್ಸ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾ, ಖಜಾಂಚಿ , ಶ್ರೀ ಬೆನೆಡಿಕ್ಟ್ ಫೆರ್ನಾಂಡಿಸ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಂಘದ ಸದಸ್ಯರ ಶ್ರಮ ಮಹತ್ತರ ಪಾತ್ರ ವಹಿಸಿತು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಯಶಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಸಹಕರಿಸಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಗಣ್ಯರು, ಸ್ಪರ್ಧಿಗಳು, ಸ್ವಯಂಸೇವಕರು, ಬಿ.ವಾಕ್ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು, ಸಂಘದ ಸದಸ್ಯರು, ಪ್ರಾಯೋಜಕರು ಹಾಗೂ ಬೆಂಬಲಿಗರಿಗೆ ಕ್ರಿಶ್ಚಿಯನ್ ಸ್ಪೋರ್ಟ್ಸ್ ಅಸೋಸಿಯೇಷನ್ ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದೆ. ಸಮುದಾಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಉತ್ತೇಜಿಸುವ ತನ್ನ ಬದ್ಧತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಂಘವು ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದೆ.
A chess tournament was held for members of the Christian community by the Christian Sports Association (CSA)
Mangalore; Christian Sports Association (R) , Mangalore, successfully organised a chess tournament for members of the Christian community on 2nd August 2026 at St Aloysius High School Hall, Kodialbail.The inaugural ceremony commenced with a prayer led by Mr Wilson Martis, followed by the welcome address delivered by Mr Agnel D’Souza, president of the association. The ceremony was graced by Mr Walter Nandalike, Founder of Daijiworld Media Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Pradeep D’Souza, Deputy Director, Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, Dakshina Kannada, and Master Aaron Reeve Mendes, International Master in Chess, as guests of honour. Rev. Fr Johnson Pinto, S.J. Headmaster of St. Aloysius High School, presided over the function. During the inaugural ceremony, Master Aaron Reeve Mendes and Ms. Aarushi D’ Silva were felicitated in recognition of their tremendous achievements in chess. The dignitaries appreciated the efforts of the Christian Sports Association in promoting chess and encouraging sportsmanship among the Christian community. They encouraged the participants to play with discipline, confidence, and the true spirit of the game. The tournament featured competitions in the following categories: under-10 Boys andgirls, under-13 Boys and girls, under-16 boys and girls, open men, and open women. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from players across all categories, with exciting and competitive matches conducted throughout the day. The valedictory ceremony was held in the evening in the presence of Mr Anil Lobo, Chairman, MCC Bank Ltd., and Mr Roy Rodrigues, Managing Partner, Ludric Group of Companies, as guests of honour. They congratulated the winners and appreciated the organisers for conducting a well-organised tournament that promoted sportsmanship and unity within the Christian community. The inaugural and valedictory programmes were compered by Mr Melin Peres Peris, who conducted the proceedings with professionalism. The tournament was efficiently managed by Chief Arbiter Mr. Kaushik and his team, ensuring fair play and the smooth conduct of all matches. Students from the Sports Management Department, St. Aloysius (Deemed to be University)actively assisted in the organisation and management of the event. The office bearers of the association, Mr Agnel D’Souza – president, Mr. Arun Baptist,-convenor, Mr Lawrence Crasta -secretary, Mr Benedict Fernandes -treasurer) and other members were present during the event.
