ಸಿಬಿಎಸ್ಇ ಅಂದರೆ ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್ ಪ್ರಮುಖವಾಗಿ ಕಲಿಸುವ ಶಾಲೆ ಆದರೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂರನೆಯ ಭಾಷೆಯಾಗಿ ಮಾತೃಭಾಷೆ ಕಲಿಸುವ ಅವಕಾಶ ದೊರೆತಾಗ ಅದರ ಸದುಪಯೋಗ ಮಾಡಲು ನಾನು ಅಣಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆ,ಎಂದು ಫಾ ಉದಯ್ ಫೆರ್ನಾಂಡಿಸ್ ನುಡಿದರು.
ಅವರು ಮಿಲಾಗ್ರಿಸ್ ಸೆಂಟ್ರಲ್ ಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಂಕಣಿ ಮಾನ್ಯತಾ ದಿವಸದ ಆಚರಣೆ ಪ್ರಯುಕ್ತ ಕೊಂಕಣಿ ಭಾಷಾ ಮಂಡಳ್ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಇವರ ಸಂಯುಕ್ತ ಆಶ್ರಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಂಕಣಿ ಸಂಘವನ್ನು ದೀಪ ಬೆಳಗಿಸಿ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
ನಾವು ಮುಂದಿನ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ವರ್ಷದಿಂದ ಮೂರನೇ ಭಾಷೆಯಾಗಿ ಕೊಂಕಣಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಲಿಪಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಲಿಸುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಆಲೋಚನೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇವೆ ಎಂದು ಭರವಸೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಕೊಂಕಣಿ ಮಾನ್ಯತಾ ದಿನದ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದ ಕೊಂಕಣಿ ಭಾಷಾ ಮಂಡಳ್ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ರೇಮಂಡ್ ಡಿಕೂನಾ ತಾಕೊಡೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಕಷ್ಟ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ತಾಯಿ ಮತ್ತು ತಾಯಿಭಾಷೆ ಯೇ ಆಸರೆಯಾಗಿ ಬರುವುದು.
ನಾವು ಎಷ್ಟು ಮೇಲೆರಿದರೂ ಮೊದಲ ಮಾತು ತಾಯಿಯ ಬಾಯಿಯಿಂದ ಕಿವಿಗೆ ಬಿದ್ದದು ಮರೆಯಬಾರದು ಮತ್ತು ಅದರ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲು ಹಿಂಜರಿಯಬಾರದು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ವಿಧ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಕೊಂಕಣಿ ಕ್ವಿಜ್ ನಡೆಸಿದರು.
ಕೆಬಿಎಂಕೆ ಖಜಾಂಚಿ ವಸಂತ ರಾವ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಿಲಾಗ್ರಿಸ್ ಪದವಿಪೂರ್ವ ಕಾಲೇಜಿ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲ ಮೆಲ್ವಿನ್ ವಾಸ್ ಶುಭ ಹಾರೈಸಿದರು.

“CBSE schools primarily focus on teaching English. However, when we get an opportunity to teach our mother tongue as a third language, we should make the best use of it,” said Fr. Uday Fernandes.
He was speaking after inaugurating the Konkani Association by lighting the lamp at Milagres Central School. The programme was organised in collaboration with the Konkani Bhasha Mandal Karnataka as part of the Konkani Recognition Day celebrations.
Fr. Uday Fernandes assured that the school would consider introducing Konkani in the Kannada script as a third language from the next academic year.
Speaking on the significance of Konkani Manytha Day, Konkani Bhasha Mandal Karnataka President Raymond D’Cuna Taccode said that during difficult times, it is one’s mother and mother tongue that provide support.
“However far we progress in life, we should never forget the first words that entered our ears from our mother’s lips. We should never hesitate to serve our mother tongue,” he said. He also conducted a Konkani quiz for the students.
KBMK Treasurer Vasanth Rao and Milagres Pre-University College Principal Melvin Vas also extended their best wishes on the occasion.
