ಬಿಷಪ್ ಮತ್ತು ಕೆಥೋಲಿಕ್ ಚರ್ಚ್ ಪರವಾಗಿ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಧರ್ಮಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಾದ ವಂ|ಫಾ|ಡಾ|.ಜೆ.ಬಿ.ಸಲ್ಡಾನ್ಹಾ ಮತ್ತು ರಾಯ್ ಕ್ಯಾಸ್ತಲಿನೊ ಹಾಗೂ ಕೆಥೋಲಿಕ್ ಸಭಾ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಪ್ರದೇಶ (ರಿ.) ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಸ್ಟ್ಯಾನಿ ಲೋಬೋ ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಪೋಲಿಸ್ ಆಯುಕ್ತರನ್ನು ಭೇಟಿ ಮಾಡಿ, ಪುತ್ತೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವೊಂದರಲ್ಲಿ ಡಾ|ಪ್ರಸಾದ್ ಭಂಡಾರಿ ಅವರು ದ್ವೇಷಪೂರಿತ ಭಾಷಣ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಅವರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ದೂರು ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅಗತ್ಯ ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳುವುದಾಗಿ ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಪೋಲಿಸ್ ಆಯುಕ್ತರಾದ ಕುಲ್‍ದೀಪ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಜೈನ್ ಐ.ಪಿ.ಎಸ್. ಭರವಸೆ ನೀಡಿದರು. ನಿಯೋಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ಯಾಥೋಲಿಕ್ ಸಭಾ ಪದಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ನೊರೀನ್ ಪಿಂಟೋ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ, ಅಲ್ಫೋನ್ಸ್ ಫೆನಾರ್ಂಡಿಸ್ ಖಜಾಂಚಿ, ವಿನೋದ್ ಪಿಂಟೊ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು, ಫ್ರಾನ್ಸಿಸ್ ಸೆರಾರಾವ್ ಜಂಟಿ ಖಜಾಂಚಿ, ಆರ್ಥರ್ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜಾ ಬಂಟ್ವಾಳ ವಲಯದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು, ಲ್ಯಾನ್ಸಿ ಮಸ್ಕರೇನಸ್ ಪುತ್ತೂರು ವಲಯದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು, ಕಾಲಿನ್ ಮಿರಾಂದಾ ಸಿಟಿ ವಲಯದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು, ಸ್ಟ್ಯಾನಿ ಬಂಟ್ವಾಳ್ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ಸಂಯೋಜಕರು ಹಾಜರಿದ್ದರು.

MANGALURU, MARCH 30:  The Chrism Mass- the largest annual gathering of clergy and faithful before the Holy Week, celebrated by Most Rev. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, the bishop of Mangalore on the evening of Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Rosario Cathedral, Mangalore, served as a unifying liturgical event for the diocese of Mangalore.

Bishop Saldnaha, said, “The true picture of the Universal Church, particularly the local church is very evident here today, as the bishop with his priests-the co-workers and the entire congregation with religious sisters and lay faithful have come together in unity to celebrate the Mass of Chrism.”

Priests prepare spiritually before Chrism Mass

Prior to the Chrism Mass, the diocesan clergy, who attended the Pastoral Consultation in the morning, took part in the recollection, confessions and adoration and celebrated the Chrism Mass with the bishop.

Rev. Fr Chetan Lobo CAP, Sevak Weekly editor and the manager, Assisi press, Mangalore animated the bishop and clergy.  He spoke on disruption innovation in a priestly mission.

Fr Chetan said, “Jesus practised the disruptive discipline. His innovation disrupted the religious, political and social status quo of his time. He called those who were inexperienced to lead a new way of life. Jesus’ teaching models were of disruptive nature and brought new thoughts and perspectives. He disrupted old ways, thoughts and teachings and brought innovation.”

In his homily, Bishop Peter Paul Saldanha said, “Every Christian is anointed with the Holy Spirit from birth to death. The Indelible mark imprinted on us through the sacrament of Baptism, Confirmation and /or Holy Orders give all of us a greater share in the priesthood of Christ. This sacramental character is the mark of the Lord’s faithfulness and hence, it calls us to be faithful to him”

“Today, we bless the Holy Oils that give us life and joy. God by His grace, fills us with His Holy Spirit, enabling us to live more like Christ, in whom the fullness dwells (Ephesians 5:18–20)” the bishop added.

Finally, the bishop urged the priests to live the mystery of Priesthood with more dignity.

Diocesan priests renew their priestly promises

Immediately after giving his homily at the Chrism Mass, Bishop Peter Paul Saldanha led the assembled priests in their renewal of promises.

The congregation looked on as the bishop asked the priests to affirm the vows they made at ordination; strive to grow in union with Jesus while carrying out their priesthood; and fulfil their priestly commitments through the liturgy, teaching and self-sacrifice. After the priests assembled in the sanctuary responded in the affirmative, the bishop asked the congregation to pray for them and for him.

Right after the renewal of priestly promises, the deacons brought the sacred oils to the bishop. The bishop blessed the Oil of the Sick, designated for the anointing of the sick; and the Oil of the Catechumens, for anointing the unbaptised upon their initiation into the Catholic Church.

Finally, the bishop consecrated the Sacred Chrism, which is used for baptisms, confirmations, the ordination of priests and bishops, and to anoint altars and churches being dedicated. The chrism is scented with fragrant perfume, usually balsam.

All of the sacramental oils are pure olive oil with no preservatives. The parish priests or their representatives from throughout the diocese take the oils back to their respective faith communities for use throughout the year.

ಮುಳಬಾಗಿಲು; ಮಾ,31: ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ ತಿಂಗಳಿನಿಂದ ಏರಿಕೆಯಾಗುವ ಅಗತ್ಯ ಔಷಧಿಗಳ ಬೆಲೆ ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾನೂನು ರಚನೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಬಡವರ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ರೈತಸಂಘದಿಂದ ತಾಲೂಕು ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರ್ಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಮನವಿ ನೀಡಿ ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಅಗತ್ಯ ವಸ್ತುಗಳ ಬೆಲೆ ಏರಿಕೆ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಕೃಷಿ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ಅವೈಜ್ಞಾನಿಕ ಕಾನೂನು ಜಾರಿಗೆ ತಂದು ದಿನೇದಿನೇ ದೇಶದ ಬಡಜನರ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳನ್ನು ಶ್ರೀಮಂತರಿಗೆ ಮಾರಾಟ ಮಾಡುವ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಡವರ ಆರೋಗ್ಯವನ್ನು ಔಷಧಿ ಬೆಲೆ ಏರಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಕಸಿಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಕೇಂದ್ರ, ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಜನ ವಿರೋಧಿ ನೀತಿ ಕೈಬಿಡದಿದ್ದರೆ ಚುನಾವಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ ಕೇಳಲು ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಪ್ರದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುವ ರಾಜಕಾರಣಿಗಳ ಮುಖಕ್ಕೆ ಸಗಣಿ ಬಳಿಯುವ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ರೈತಸಂಘದ ತಾಲೂಕು ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಯಲುವಳ್ಳಿ ಪ್ರಭಾಕರ್ ಜನಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಗಳಿಗೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಎರಡು ವರ್ಷ ಸಾಂಕ್ರಾಮಿಕ ರೋಗಗಳು ಮತ್ತೆರೆಡು ವರ್ಷ ಪ್ರಕೃತಿ ವಿಕೋಪಕ್ಕೆ ಸಿಲುಕಿ ಬಡ, ರೈತ, ಕೂಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರ ಬದುಕು ಬೀದಿಗೆ ಬಿದ್ದು ಮತ್ತೆ ಬದುಕು ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಾಗ ಆಳುವ ಸರ್ಕಾರಗಳು ಅಗತ್ಯ ವಸ್ತುಗಳ ಬೆಲೆ ಏರಿಕೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಮತ್ತೆ ಜನಸಾಮಾನ್ಯರ ಜೀವನದ ಮೇಲೆ ಗಾಯದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬರೆ ಎಳೆಯುವ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಸಂಕಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಸಿಲುಕಿಸುವ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಜೀವನ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆ ಕಷ್ಟಕರವಾಗಿ ತುತ್ತು ಅನ್ನಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಪರದಾಡುವ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಜನಸಾಮಾನ್ಯರ ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾದ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಶ್ರೀಮಂತರ ಐಷಾರಾಮಿ ಜೀವನಕ್ಕೆ ಬಡವರ ಬದುಕನ್ನು ಬಲಿ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅಸಮಧಾನ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
ಅಗತ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಬಡ, ರೈತ, ಕೂಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರ ಆರೋಗ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬೇಕಾದಂತಹ 300ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಔಷಧಿಗಳ ಬೆಲೆ ಏರಿಕೆ ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ ತಿಂಗಳಿಂದ ಶೇ.12ರಷ್ಟು ಏರಿಕೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಜನಸಾಮಾನ್ಯರನ್ನು ಯಾವುದೇ ಮದ್ದು ಗುಂಡಿಲ್ಲದೆ ನಿಧಾನವಾಗಿ ವಿಷ ನೀಡುವ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಸರ್ಕಾರವೇ ಬಡವರನ್ನು ಹಾಳು ಮಾಡಲು ಔಷಧಿ ಧರವನ್ನು ಏರಿಕೆ ಮಾಡುವಂತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಆರೋಪಿಸಿದರು.

ರೈತಸಂಘದ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಕೆ.ನಾರಾಯಣಗೌಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಔಷಧಿಗಳ ಬೆಲೆಯನ್ನು ನಿಯಂತ್ರಿಸುವ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಔಷಧಿ ಬೆಲೆ ಪ್ರಾಧಿಕಾರವೇ (ಎನ್.ಪಿ.ಪಿ.ಎ.) ಈ ಏರಿಕೆಗೆ ಸಮ್ಮತಿಯನ್ನು ಮೊಹರನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಿದೆ. ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರ್ಕಾರವು ಸೂಚಿಸಿದಂತೆ ಸಗಟು ಬೆಲೆ ಸೂಚ್ಯಾಂಕದ (ಡಬ್ಲ್ಯೂ.ಪಿ.ಐ.) ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ಬದಲಾವಣೆಯ 2022ರ ಶೇ.12.12 ರಷ್ಟು ಇದೆ ಎಂದು ಎನ್.ಪಿ.ಪಿ.ಎ. ತಿಳಿಸಿದೆ.
ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಅನುಗುಣವಾಗಿ ನೋವು ನಿವಾರಕಗಳು, ಸೋಂಕು ನಿವಾರಕಗಳು ಹೃದಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದಂತೆ ಔಷಧಿಗಳ ಆಂಟಿ ಬಯೋಟೆಕ್‍ಗಳು ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಅಗತ್ಯ ಔಷಧಿಗಳ ಬೆಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಏರಿಕೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶವಾದರೂ ಏನಿತ್ತು ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಿದರು.
ಒಂದು ಕುಟುಂಬ ಹದಗೆಟ್ಟಿರುವ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜೀವನ ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾದರೆ ಮನೆ ಮಂದಿಯೆಲ್ಲಾ ದುಡಿದರೂ ಸಾಲ ತೀರಿಸಲಾಗದೆ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ನೀಡಲಾಗದ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ವಯಸ್ಸಾದ ತಂದೆತಾಯಿಗಳ ಅನಾರೋಗ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಉತ್ತಮ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ನೀಡಲು ಪರದಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಅಗತ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಬೇಕಾಗಿರುವಂತಹ ಪ್ಯಾರಾಸಿಟಿಮಲ್, ಆಂಟಿ ಬಯೋಟಿಕ್, ಅಜಿತೋಮೈಸಿನ್, ಬ್ಯಾಕ್ಟೀರಿಯಲ್, ಸೋಂಕು ನಿವಾರಕಗಳು ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಅಗತ್ಯ ಔಷಧಿಗಳ ಪಟ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಔಷಧಿಗಳೇ ಬಡವರ ಕೈಗೆ ಎಟುಕದಂತೆ ಸುಮಾರು 380 ಔಷಧಿಗಳ ಬೆಲೆ ಏರಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಇನ್ನು ಔಷಧಿ ದುಬಾರಿ ವೆಚ್ಚ ನೀಡಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗದೆ ಇತ್ತ ಆರೋಗ್ಯವೂ ಸರಿಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗದೆ ವಿಷ ಸೇವಿಸಿ ಆತ್ಮಹತ್ಯೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಈ ವಿಚಾರವನ್ನು ಗಂಭೀರವಾಗಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಿ ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ ತಿಂಗಳಿಂದ ಏರಿಕೆಯಾಗುವ ಔಷಧಿ ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾನೂನು ರಚನೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಬಡ ರೈತ ಕೂಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಮನವಿ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
ಮನವಿ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ತಾಲೂಕು ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು, ಔಷಧಿ ಬೆಲೆ ಏರಿಕೆ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಇಲಾಖೆಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಇಲ್ಲ. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮನವಿಯನ್ನು ಹಿರಿಯ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಸರ್ಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸುವ ಭರವಸೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಮನವಿ ನೀಡುವಾಗ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಪ್ರ.ಕಾ. ಫಾರೂಖ್‍ಪಾಷ, ರಾಜ್ಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಬಂಗಾರಿ ಮಂಜು, ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಈಕಂಬಳ್ಳಿ ಮಂಜುನಾಥ್, ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಹೆಬ್ಬಣಿ ಆನಂದರೆಡ್ಡಿ, ವಿಜಯಪಾಲ್, ಭಾಸ್ಕರ್, ವಿಶ್ವ, ತಾಲೂಕು ಪ್ರ.ಕಾ. ರಾಜೇಶ್, ಅಂಬ್ಲಿಕಲ್ ಮಂಜುನಾಥ್, ಹೆಬ್ಬಣಿ ರಾಮಮೂರ್ತಿ, ಗುರುಮೂರ್ತಿ, ಜುಬೇರ್ ಪಾಷ, ಆದಿಲ್ ಪಾಷ ಮುಂತಾದವರಿದ್ದರು.

ಕುಂದಾಪುರ, ಮಾ:30: ಐ.ಎಂ.ಜೆ. ವಿದ್ಯಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿ  ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 10 ರಂದು ‘ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ದಿನ’ವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಅದರ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ ಕುಂದಾಪುರ ‘ಮಾನಸ- ಜ್ಯೋತಿ’ ವಿಕಲಚೇತನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಐ. ಎಂ. ಜೆ. ವಿದ್ಯಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಬೋಧಕ- ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿವೃಂದದವರು ‘ವಿಸ್ಮಯ’ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಡಿ ವಿವಿಧ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನದಿಂದ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ರಂಜಿಸಿದರು.

ಮಾನಸ ಜ್ಯೋತಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಶೋಭಾ ಮಧ್ಯಸ್ಥ ಅವರು ಈ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿ 2011 ರಿಂದ ನೆದರ್ಲ್ಯಾಂಡಿನ  ಮಾರ್ಟೆ ವಾನ್ ಡೆನ್ ಬ್ಯಾಂಡ್ ನವರು ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ  ಐ.ಎಂ.ಜೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಬೋಧಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಅಮೃತಮಾಲ, ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಅಕ್ಷತಾ, ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಚೈತ್ರ, ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಸಬೀನಾ, ಶ್ರೀ ಪ್ರವೀಣ್ ಖಾರ್ವಿ ಮತ್ತು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.

Udupi, 30 March 2023: The blessings of Holy Oils and Chrism mass held at Milagres Cathedral, Kallianpur of Udupi Diocese on Thursday, 30th March, 2023. His Lordship Most Rev Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi Diocese concelebrated the Solemnly Eucharistic celebrations along with record number of diocesan and religious priests.

In the morning, the diocesan pre-synod meeting was held at Milagres Tri-centenary Hall with all the diocesan and religious priests headed by the diocese bishop till noon. At 4pm, prior to the mass, the Bishop along with all the priests gathered at Milagres Tri-centenary Hall and proceeded towards the Milagres Cathedral.

During the Chrism mass which is usually held in the Cathedral of the diocese and blessed the three kinds of Sacred Oils, all of which signify the work of the Holy Spirit and symbolize it in that oil “Serves to Sweeten, to Strengthen, to render Supple”.

In his homily, Bishop Gerald Issac Lobo pointed out the role and responsibilities of priests in their mission to serve God. However, the Bishop characterized four tasks as a priest to serve God. By prayer one acknowledges God’s power and goodness. It is therefore an act of the virtue of priests implying the deepest reverence for God. Priest is a person of God. A Priest is a person who lives solely for God’s interests and serves God. A priest is a person filled, saturated and permeated with God. He is a person mingled with God and one who contacts God in this mingling. Priest is one who forwards the mission of Christ to the people.

Prayer presupposes faith in God and hope in his goodness. Priests, somehow, not only depend on religious manners, but need to indulge in prayer. We are witness to the loopholes of priests as a whole. Priests should actively participate in Eucharistic celebrations, adoration, Contrition/Repentance, gratitude, petition or intercession, leading worship and sacraments, teaching and applying the truth of the Gospel and so on. Hence, a priest is serving a mission of Christ.

The life of a priest is one of sacrifice and service because it is the life of Christ. Wherever there is sacrifice, love abounds even more. The priest administers the Sacraments and cares for the people. He is the shepherd of the flock entrusted to him, just as Christ is the shepherd of the entire family.

Priests should bring faithful people together. The Holy Spirit is present whenever believers gather together. God has given talent to bring his people together. It is the spiritual power of a priest to bring believers together. Priests are mediators between God and the faithful. The priest shall be for the people in different ways, the Bishop said.

Without friends and prayer, celibacy can become an unbearable burden, said Pope Francis at the Vatican on February 17, 2022. Hence, Priests need friends of the poor people. Jesus became poor for us to make richness with God, Bishop said.

Meanwhile, during the mass, priests asked to stand and renew the promises made on their ordination time and witnessed the priests who again pledged their lives and love to Jesus.

At the end, Rector of the Cathedral Very Rev Fr. Valerian Mendonca gave the words of gratitude to all concerned including the Bishop, priests and clergy of the diocese. The Bishop also thanked the Rector of the Cathedral and all concerned on the success of the 11th year of Chrism mass.

Meanwhile, the sponsor of the celebrations, Mr Steevan & Mrs Preema Lewis honoured by the Bishop with a decorated candle. Soft drinks served to all the participants after the mass. Around 74 diocesan priests including Chancellor of Udupi diocese Very Rev Dr. Roshan D’Souza, all five deanery deans and other religious priests were present. Some nuns of the diocese also present during the mass. Rev Fr. Cyril Lobo mediated proceedings during the mass.

The Udupi district had been a part of the Diocese of Mangalore since 1887. The Udupi diocese was inaugurated on 15th October 2012.by Apostolic Nunicio of India Salvatore Pennacchio at Milagres Cathedral. Bishop Gerald Isaac Lobo was appointed the first Bishop of Udupi diocese.

The three Holy Oils are :

 The Oil of Catechumens (“Oleum Catechumenorum” or “Oleum Sanctum”) used in Baptism along with water, in the consecration of churches, in the blessing of Altars, in the ordination of priests, and, sometimes, in the crowning of Catholic kings and queens.

The Holy Chrism (“Sanctum Chrisma”) or “Oil of Gladness,” which is olive oil mixed with a small amount of balm or balsam. It is used in Confirmation, Baptism, in the consecration of a Bishop, the consecration of various things such as churches, chalices, patens, and bells.

It is appropriate that the oil of the sick, the oil of the Catechumens and the Holy Chrism which are blessed by the Bishop during the Chrism mass, be presented to and received by the local parish community. The reception of the holy oil may take place at Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday or any other day after the celebration of chrism mass. In Udupi Diocese this year due to busy schedule on Holy Thursday or other reason, the diocese’s Chrism Mass with the blessings of Holy Oils held on Thursday, 7th April, 2022 at Milagres Cathedral, Kallianpur.

ಮೂಡ್ಲಕಟ್ಟೆ ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ಮಹಾ ವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯದ, ಕುಂದಾಪುರ ಪ್ಲೆಸ್‍ಮೆಂಟ್ ಮತ್ತು ಟ್ರೆನೀಂಗ್ ವಿಭಾಗವು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಬಿ.ಎಂ.ಎಸ್ ಕಾಲೀಜಿನ ಪ್ಲೆಸ್‍ಮೆಂಟ್ ಡಿನ್ ಆದ ಡಾ. ಪ್ರದೀಪಾರಿಂದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ಲೆಸ್‍ಮೆಂಟ್‍ನ ಟಿಪ್ಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಟ್ರಿಕ್ಸಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ವಿಶೇಷ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸ ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಡಾ. ಪ್ರದೀಪಾರವರು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ತಾವು ಯಾವ ಕಂಪನಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ನೀರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತೀರೊ ಆ ಕಂಪನಿಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಹಾಗೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಜವಬ್ದಾರಿಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಆದಷ್ಟು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡೇ ಕ್ಯಾಂಪಸ ಪ್ಲೆಸ್‍ಮೆಂಟ್‍ಗೆ ಹೋದರೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಹಿಂದುಳಿದ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಿಂದ ಬಂದು ಭಾರತದಲಿಯೇ ಒಂದು ಅತ್ಯುತಮ ವಿದ್ಯಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಡಿನ್ ಆಗಿರುವ ತಮ್ಮ ಉದಾಹಣೆಯನ್ನೇ ನೀಡಿ, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ತಮ್ಮಲಿರುವ ಕೀಳರಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಆದಷ್ಟು ಬೇಗ ತೋರೆದು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾಗವಹಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಸಲಹೆ ನೀಡಿದರು. ವಿವಿಧ ಸರ್ಟಿಫಿಕೆಟ್ ಕೊರ್ಸಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ, ಕೌಶಲ್ಯ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ತಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆಯನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಬೇಕು. ಯಾವ ಸಾಧನೆಗೂ ಕಠಿಣ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮವೇ ಸನಿಹ ದಾರಿ ಎಂದರಲ್ಲದೇ, ಪ್ರಯತ್ನವಿಲ್ಲದೇ ಯಾವ ಸಾಧನೆಯೂ ಅಸಾಧ್ಯ ಎಂದರು. ಕಂಪನಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕ ಬಯೋಡೆಟಾ ತಯಾರಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ಉತ್ತಮ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಾಲಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ನೀವು ನಿಲ್ಲುವುದನ್ನು ಸಮಾಜ ಗೌರವಿಸುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಒತ್ತಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು.

ಡಾ. ಅಬ್ದುಲ್ ಕರೀಮ್‍ರವರು ಮಾತಾಡಿ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಿಭಾಗದವರಿಗೂ ಉದ್ಯೋಗವಕಾಶವಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಪ್ರೊ. ಅಮೃತಮಾಲಾ ಡೀನ್ ಟಿ.ಪಿ.ಐ.ಆರ್ ಎಂ.ಐ.ಟಿ.ಕೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರೊ. ಅಕ್ಷತಾ ನಾಯಕ್ ಸಂಯೋಜಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಕುಂದಾಪುರ ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಭಂಡಾರ್ಕಾರ್ಸ್ ಪದವಿ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅಧ್ಯಾಪಕರ ಸಂಘದ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ವಿಭಾಗ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಾಗಿ ನಿವೃತ್ತರಾದ ಪ್ರೊ. ಡಾ.ಎಂ.ಬಿ.ನಟರಾಜ್ ಇವರನ್ನು ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಿ ಗೌರವಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲ ಡಾ.ಎನ್.ಪಿ.ನಾರಾಯಣ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ, ಅಧ್ಯಾಪಕರ ಸಂಘದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಡಾ.ಲಲಿತಾದೇವಿ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಕಿ ವೈಷ್ಣವಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು. ಅಧ್ಯಾಪಕರ ಸಂಘದ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ದುರ್ಗಾಪ್ರಸಾದ್ ಮಯ್ಯ ವಂದಿಸಿದರು.
