Three-day “Jeevan Jyothi” camp for the Kundapura Deanery at St. Assisi Church, Tallur
ಉಡುಪಿ ಧರ್ಮಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯವು ಪ್ರತಿವರ್ಷ ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ವಲಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ 10ನೇ ತರಗತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಾಸಂಗ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಕ್ಯಾಥೊಲಿಕ್ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ “ಜೀವನ್ ಜ್ಯೋತಿ” ಶಿಬಿರವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಅದರಂತೆ, ಈ ವರ್ಷವೂ ಕುಂದಾಪುರ ಸಂತ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ವಾಜ್ ವಲಯದ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಮೂರು ದಿನಗಳ “ಜೀವನ್ ಜ್ಯೋತಿ” ಶಿಬಿರವನ್ನು ತಲ್ಲೂರಿನ ಸಂತ ಫ್ರಾನ್ಸಿಸ್ ಅಸ್ಸಿಸಿ ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಸಭಾಭವನದಲ್ಲಿ 2026ರ ಅಕ್ಟೋಬರ್ 15ರಿಂದ 17ರವರೆಗೆ ವಂದನೀಯ ಫಾ. ಎಡ್ವಿನ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ ಅವರ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಅಕ್ಟೋಬರ್ 15ರಂದು ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 9 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಶಿಬಿರದ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಾ ಸಮಾರಂಭ ನಡೆಯಿತು. ಶಿಬಿರಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ದೀಪ ಬೆಳಗಿಸಿ, ಪವಿತ್ರ ಬೈಬಲಿಗೆ ಗೌರವ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿ, ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಶಿಬಿರವನ್ನು ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿದರು.ಚರ್ಚಿನ ಧರ್ಮಗುರುಗಳಾದ ವಂ. ಫಾ. ಎಡ್ವಿನ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ ಅವರು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರೇರಣಾದಾಯಕ ಸಂದೇಶವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿ, ಶಿಬಿರದ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು.ಚರ್ಚಿನ ಪಾಲನಾ ಮಂಡಳಿಯ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಕೆಲ್ವಿನ್ ಮೆಂಡೋನ್ಸಾರವರು ಸರ್ವರನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು.
ಈ ಮೂರು ದಿನಗಳ ಶಿಬಿರದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿವಿಧ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳ ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನ ನೀಡಿದರು. ಉಡುಪಿ ಧರ್ಮಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದ ಆರಾಧನಾ ವಿಧಿ ಆಯೋಗದ ಸಂಚಾಲಕರಾದ ವಂ. ಫಾ. ವಿಲ್ಸನ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ, ಗಂಗೊಳ್ಳಿ ಚರ್ಚಿನ ಧರ್ಮಗುರುಗಳಾದ ವಂ. ಫಾ. ಥೊಮಸ್ ರೋಶನ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ, ಬಸ್ರೂರು ಚರ್ಚಿನ ಧರ್ಮಗುರುಗಳಾದ ವಂ.ಫಾ. ರೋಯ್ ಲೋಬೊ, ಕೆರೆಕಟ್ಟೆ ಸಂತ ಅಂತೋನಿ ಪುಣ್ಯಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ಆಡಳಿತಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಾದ ವಂ. ಫಾ. ಸುನಿಲ್ ವೇಗಸ್, ಕುಂದಾಪುರ ವಲಯದ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಗುರುಗಳಾದ ಅತೀ ವಂ. ಫಾ. ಪೌಲ್ ರೇಗೋ, ಬಸ್ರೂರು ಸಂತ ಫಿಲಿಪ್ ಪೇರಿ ಆಂಗ್ಲ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ಶಾಲೆಯ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ವಂ. ಫಾ. ಡ್ಯಾನ್ಸಿ ಮಾರ್ಟಿಸ್, ಎಂ.ಸಿ.ಸಿ. ಬ್ಯಾಂಕಿನ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಿಗಳಾದ ಎಲ್ಡ್ರಿನ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ ಮತ್ತು ಓವಿನ್ ರೆಬೆಲ್ಲೊ, ತ್ರಾಸಿಯ ಡಾನ್ ಬಾಸ್ಕೊ ಶಾಲೆಯ ಉಪಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ವಂ. ಫಾ. ಸಂದೇಶ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಶಿಬಿರದ ನೇತೃತ್ವ ವಹಿಸಿದ ವಂ. ಫಾ. ಎಡ್ವಿನ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ ಅವರು ವಿವಿಧ ವಿಷಯಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಆರಾಧನಾ ವಿಧಿ, ಪವಿತ್ರ ಬಲಿಪೂಜೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಳಸುವ ಚಿಹ್ನೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಕೇತಗಳು, ಮಾತೆ ಮರಿಯಾಳ ಪಾತ್ರ, ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನ ಪಾತ್ರ, ಸಂಸ್ಕಾರಗಳ ಮಹತ್ವ, ದೇವರ ಕರೆ, ಭಾನುವಾರದ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯ, ಮೂರ್ತಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸಂತರಿಗೆ ಗೌರವ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುವುದು, ಕೆಡುಕಿನ ಅಸ್ತಿತ್ವ, ಪರಮ ಪ್ರಸಾದ, ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ, ನನ್ನ ನಂಬಿಕೆಗೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗುವುದು, ಪರಿಸರ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪವಿತ್ರ ಸಭೆ ಮುಂತಾದ ವಿಷಯಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಅರಿವು ಮೂಡಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಉಡುಪಿ ಧರ್ಮಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದ ಧರ್ಮಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಅತೀ ವಂ. ಡಾ. ಲೆಸ್ಲಿ ಕ್ಲಿಫರ್ಡ್ ಡಿಸೋಜ ಶಿಬಿರಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿ ,ದೇವರ ಕರೆಯ ಕುರಿತು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ,ಜೀವನ ಕೊನೆಗೊಳ್ಳುವ ಮೊದಲು ಏನಾದರೂ ಸಾಧಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ಶಿಬಿರದ ನೇತೃತ್ವ ವಹಿಸಿದ ವಂ. ಫಾ. ಎಡ್ವಿನ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ ಅವರು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ YOUCAT ಪುಸ್ತಕದ ಪ್ರತಿಯನ್ನು ಉಚಿತವಾಗಿ ವಿತರಿಸಿದರು.
ಶಿಬಿರದ ಮೂರು ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸುವುದು, ಧನ್ಯವಾದ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸುವುದು, ವರದಿ ಮಂಡಿಸುವುದು ಮತ್ತು ಗುಮ್ಮಟ್ ಹಾಡು ಮುಂತಾದ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತರಬೇತಿ ನೀಡಲಾಯಿತು. YCS ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಪ್ರತಿದಿನ ಮನರಂಜನಾ ಆಟಗಳು, ಗುಂಪು ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದರು. ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕಿಯರು ಶಿಬಿರದ ಯಶಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಸಹಕರಿಸಿದರು.
ಶಿಬಿರದ ಸಮಾರೋಪದಲ್ಲಿ ವಂ. ಫಾ. ಎಡ್ವಿನ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ ಅವರು ವಿವಿಧ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳ ಮೌಲ್ಯಮಾಪನ ನಡೆಸಿದರು. ಶಿಬಿರದ ಯಶಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಸಹಕರಿಸಿದವರಿಗೆ ಸ್ಮರಣಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಿ ಗೌರವಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮವಾಗಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ ನಾಲ್ವರು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಧರ್ಮಗುರುಗಳು ಬಹುಮಾನಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಿ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸಿದರು.
ಕುಂದಾಪುರ ವಲಯದ ಒಟ್ಟು 60 ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಈ ಶಿಬಿರದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಈ ಶಿಬಿರವು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ನಂಬಿಕೆ, ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ ಜೀವನ, ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಜ್ಞಾನ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿನ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ಅರಿವು ಮೂಡಿಸಲು ಸಹಕಾರಿಯಾಯಿತು.
Three-day “Jeevan Jyothi” camp for the Kundapura Deanery at St. Assisi Church, Tallur
Every year, the Diocese of Udupi organizes the “Jeevan Jyothi” camp for Catholic students studying in Class 10 in each deanery. Accordingly, this year, the St. Joseph Vaz Deanery of Kundapura organized a three-day “Jeevan Jyothi” camp from October 15 to 17, 2026, at the parish hall of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Tallur, under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Edwin D’Souza.
The inaugural ceremony was held on October 15 at 9:00 a.m. The participants inaugurated the camp by lighting the lamp, paying homage to the Holy Bible, and participating in a prayer service. Rev. Fr. Edwin D’Souza, the parish priest, delivered an inspiring message to the students and explained the importance of the camp.Mr.Calvin Mendonca Vice President of Church Pastoral council welcomeed the gathering.
During the three-day camp, several resource persons from different fields guided the students. They included Rev. Fr. Wilson D’Souza, Coordinator of the Liturgy Commission of the Diocese of Udupi; Rev. Fr. Thomas Roshan D’Souza, Parish Priest of Gangolli; Rev. Fr. Roy Lobo, Parish Priest of Basrur; Very Rev. Fr. Sunil Vegas, Administrator of the St. Anthony Shrine, Kerekattte; Very Rev. Fr. Paul Rego, Dean of Kundapura Deanery; Rev. Fr. Dancy Martis, Principal of St. Philip Neri English Medium School, Basrur; Mr. Eldrin D’Souza and Mr. Ovin Rebello, employees of MCC Bank; Rev. Fr. Sandesh, a teacher at Don Bosco School, Trasi; and Rev. Fr. Edwin D’Souza, the camp director.
The sessions covered various topics, including liturgy, signs and symbols used in the Holy Mass, the role of Mother Mary, my role in the parish, the importance of the sacraments, My Vocation ,Sunday obligation, the veneration of sacred images and saints, the existence of evil, the Holy Eucharist, personal prayer, witnessing my faith, care for the environment, and the Holy Church.
The Bishop of Udupi Diocese Most Rev.Dr.Leslie Clifford Dsouza visited the students and spoke them about Vocation.He urged them to do something good before their lives come to an end.
Rev. Fr. Edwin D’Souza distributed a free copy of the YOUCAT book to every participant.
During the three days, the students received training in welcoming guests, delivering the vote of thanks, presenting reports, and singing Gummat songs. The YCS students organized recreational games, group activities, and cultural activities every day. The Christian education teachers extended their support and cooperation.
At the conclusion of the camp, Rev. Fr. Edwin D’Souza evaluated the various activities. Those who contributed to the success of the camp were honoured with mementoes. Four students who participated exceptionally well were awarded prizes by the priests as a token of appreciation and encouragement.
A total of 60 students from the Kundapura Deanery participated in the camp. The programme helped the students deepen their Christian faith, strengthen their spiritual lives, increase their religious knowledge, and understand their responsibilities in the parish.
