ಮಂಗಳೂರು: “ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ನಡೆ, ನುಡಿ, ಗುಣ ಸರಿಯಿದ್ದಲ್ಲಿ ಜೀವನ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೃದುತ್ವ, ಶಾಂತತ್ವ, ಕರುಣೆ ಹೊಂದಿರಬೇಕು. ಪರಸ್ಪರ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸ, ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಗೌರವ ಇರುವ ಸಮಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ, ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದರು ಚೊಕ್ಕಬೆಟ್ಟುವಿನ ಮೊಹಿಯುದ್ದೀನ್ ಜುಮಾ ಮಸ್ಜಿದ್‍ನ ಧರ್ಮಗುರುಗಳಾದ ಮೌಲಾನಾ ಯು.ಕೆ. ಅಬ್ದುಲ್ ಅಜೀಜ್ ದಾರಿಮಿ. ಸಂತ ಮದರ್ ತೆರೆಸಾ ವಿಚಾರ ವೇದಿಕೆ ನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಂಗಳವಾರ ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಸೌಹಾರ್ದ ಇಫ್ತಾರ್ ಕೂಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಯಾಗಿ ಅವರು ಸಂದೇಶ ನೀಡಿದರು 

ದ್ವೇಷ, ಕೋಪ ಬರುವ ಸನ್ನಿವೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಮೂಡುವಂತಾಗಬೇಕು. ನಮ್ಮವರ ಜೊತೆ ನಾವು ಪ್ರೀತಿಯನ್ನು ತೋರಬೇಕು. ಆಗ ಬೇರೆಯವರ ಜೊತೆಯೂ ಪ್ರೀತಿ ತೋರಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವೆಂದವರು ಪ್ರತಿಪಾದಿಸಿದರು. ಸಂತ ಎಲೋಶಿಯಸ್ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಸಹೋದಯ ಸಭಾಂಗಣದ ಆವರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಫ್ತಾರ್ ಕೂಟ ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.

ಸಂತ ಅಲೋಶಿಯಸ್ ಪರಿಗಣಿತ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಸಹ ಕುಲಪತಿ ಫಾ. ಮೆಲ್ವಿನ್ ಡಿಕುನ್ಹಾ ಎಸ್.ಜೆ. ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, “ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ನಡೆ ಮತ್ತು ನುಡಿ ಹೇಗಿದೆಯೆಂಬುದು ಮುಖ್ಯ. ಕೇವಲ ತೋರ್ಪಡಿಕೆಯ ನಡವಳಿಕೆ ವ್ಯರ್ಥ. ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂಧುತ್ವ, ಶಾಂತಿ ಬೆಳೆಯಲಿ” ಎಂದು ಹಾರೈಸಿದರು.

ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದ ವೇದಿಕೆಯ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ರೊಯ್ ಕ್ಯಾಸ್ತೆಲಿನೊ, “ಕಳೆದ 8 ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೌಹಾರ್ದತೆ, ಸಹಬಾಳ್ವೆಯ ಅಗತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮನಗಂಡು ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ವೇದಿಕೆ ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಶ್ರಮಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದಿದೆ. ವೈವಿಧ್ಯತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಭ್ರಮಿಸಬೇಕು. ಎಲ್ಲರೊಡನೆ ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಹಂಚುವ ಕೈಂಕರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ” ಎಂದು ವೇದಿಕೆಯ ಧ್ಯೇಯೋದ್ದೇಶಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಬೆಳಕು ಚೆಲ್ಲಿದರು.

ಖ್ಯಾತ ಸಾಹಿತಿ, ನಿವೃತ್ತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕಿ ಬಿ.ಎಂ. ರೋಹಿಣಿ, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಕೊಂಕಣಿ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಅಕಾಡೆಮಿ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಸ್ಟ್ಯಾನಿ ಅಲ್ವಾರಿಸ್, ಬೆಥನಿ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥೆ ಸಿಸ್ಟರ್ ರೋಸ್ ಮೇರಿ, ಬಾವುಟಗುಡ್ಡ ಝೀನತ್ ಭಕ್ಷ್ ಜುಮಾ ಮಸ್ಜಿದ್‍ನ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಕೆ. ಅಶ್ರಫ್ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಸೌಹಾರ್ದತೆಯ ಅಗತ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ಸಾರಿದರು.

ವೇದಿಕೆಯ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಸುನೀಲ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಬಜಾಲ್ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿ, ಪ್ರೀತಿಯನ್ನು ಹಂಚುವ ವೇದಿಕೆಯ ಉದ್ದೇಶಗಳನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು. ಸಾಮರಸ್ಯ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥೆ ಮಂಜುಳಾ ನಾಯಕ್ ವೇದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದರು. ರೆಹಮಾನ್ ಖಾನ್ ಕುಂಜತ್ತಬೈಲ್ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿ, ವಂದಿಸಿದರು.

Mangaluru, March 10: Mother Teresa Vichara Vedike organised a Souharda Iftar Gathering on March 10 at Sahodaya Hall of St Aloysius Deemed to be University, Baavutagudda. The programme, held during the holy month of Ramadan, aimed at promoting communal harmony and encouraging people of different faiths to celebrate festivals together. The event commenced at 5:30 pm.

The programme began with a welcome address by Sunil Kumar Bajal, General Secretary of Mother Teresa Vichara Vedike, who welcomed the dignitaries and participants and highlighted the importance of celebrating festivals of all religions together to strengthen unity and mutual respect in society.

The dignitaries present on the dais included Stany Alvares, President of Konkani Sahitya Academy; Maulana Y.K. Abdul Azeez Darimi, religious leader of Mohiyuddin Juma Masjid, Chokkabettu; Dr. Melwyn D’Cunha, Pro Vice-Chancellor of St Aloysius Educational Institutions; B. M. Rohini, writer and retired teacher; K. Ashraf, Vice-President of Zeenath Baksh Juma Masjid, Baavutagudda; Sr. Rose Celine, Generalite of the Bethany Congregation; and Roy Castelino, President of Mother Teresa Vichara Vedike; Manjula Nayak, President of Samrasya . The programme was emceed by Raymond Kunjattabail.

Addressing the gathering, Maulana Y.K. Abdul Azeez Darimi, religious leader of Mohiyuddin Juma Masjid, said that the event was meaningful as it reflected the teachings and actions of St Mother Teresa, who dedicated her life to serving humanity with compassion and love beyond religious boundaries. He emphasised that love begins at home and that respect in society depends on one’s actions and behaviour. He urged people to remain gentle in words, calm in behaviour and merciful in heart. Appreciating the initiative of the organisation, he said all religions must work together to spread peace and harmony in society. Quoting astronaut Sunita Williams, he added that humanity should never be divided.

Dr. Melwyn D’Cunha, Pro Vice-Chancellor of St Aloysius Educational Institutions, compared human life to rivers that may begin in different places and end in different destinations but continue to flow forward. He stressed that a person’s actions and behaviour are more important than external appearance. Appreciating the work of Mother Teresa Vichara Vedike, he noted that the organisation has been striving for the past eight years to promote peace and harmony despite the conflicts and challenges happening around the world. He also encouraged people to reflect on living a life free from corruption and guided by strong moral values.

B. M. Rohini, writer and retired teacher, urged individuals to question and analyse themselves and their actions. She appreciated the efforts of the organisation in promoting communal harmony and encouraged such initiatives to continue for the betterment of society.

K. Ashraf, Vice-President of Zeenath Baksh Juma Masjid, Baavutagudda, appreciated the organisers for hosting the Iftar gathering and noted that such programmes strengthen the bond between communities and help people understand each other’s traditions and values.

Stany Alvares, President of Konkani Sahitya Academy, said that such Iftar gatherings should become a starting point for stronger unity among communities. He emphasised that people should live by the religion of humanity rather than creating divisions based on religion.

Sr. Rose Celine, Generalite of the Bethany Congregation, said that the common thread that connects humanity is the experience of God that promotes love and compassion. Narrating a moral story on unity, she encouraged people to continue spreading kindness and goodwill in society.

Presiding over the programme, Roy Castelino, President of Mother Teresa Vichara Vedike, said that celebrating festivals such as Iftar together helps people understand the traditions and practices of other religions. He stressed that recognising and celebrating differences can strengthen mutual respect and contribute to peace and harmony in society and the country as a whole.

The programme concluded with the Iftar, during which food was served to all the participants. People from different communities joined the gathering, reflecting the true spirit of unity, mutual respect and communal harmony.

Mother Teresa Vichara Vedike has been actively organising such programmes to encourage dialogue, understanding and peaceful coexistence among people of different faiths.
