ಮಂಗಳೂರು, ಮೇ.22: ಬಿಕರ್ಣಕಟ್ಟೆ ಜಯಶ್ರೀಗೇಟ್ ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಹೋಲಿ ಫ್ಯಾಮಿಲಿ ನಿವಾಸಿ, ಬಂಟ್ವಾಳ ಪಾಣೆಮಂಗಳೂರುನಲ್ಲಿ ಟೈಲರ್ ವೃತ್ತಿ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಾ ಭೌತಿಸ್ ಟೈಲರ್ ಎಂದೇ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧಿ ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದ ಜನೋಪಕಾರಿ, ಕೊಡುಗೈದಾನಿ ಬ್ಯಾಷ್ಠಿಸ್ಟ್ ಡಿ’ಕುನ್ಹಾ (85) ಇಂದಿಲ್ಲಿ ಬುಧವಾರ ಮಂಗಳೂರುನ ಖಾಸಗಿ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಧನರಾದರು.
ಬಂಟ್ವಾಳ ಪಾಣೆಮಂಗಳೂರು (ಕಲ್ಲಡ್ಕ ಮೊಗರ್ನಾಡ್) ಮಾತೆ ಇಗರ್ಜಿಯ ಪಾಲನಾ ಸಮಿತಿ ಸದಸ್ಯರಾಗಿ, ಮೆಲ್ಕಾರ್ ಯುವಕ ಸಂಘದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗಿ ಮೆಲ್ಕಾರ್ ದಸರಾ (ಟ್ಯಾಬ್ಲೋ) ರೂವಾರಿ ಎಂದೆಣಿಸಿ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಮುದಾಯದವರಲ್ಲೂ ಭಾವೈಕ್ಯತೆ ಹೊಂದಿ ಸಾಮರಸ್ಯದ ಬಾಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರೇರಕರಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧರೆನಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ಐವತ್ತು ದಶಕಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆಯೇ ಸುಮಾರು 37 ಧರ್ನಶಿಶು (ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಪೋಷಕತ್ವ) ಹೊಂದಿ ಹಿತಪೋಷಕರೆಣಿಸಿ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠವ್ಯಕ್ತಿವೆಂದೇ ಗುರುತಿಸಿ ಜನಾನುರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಬಳಿಕ ಬಂಟ್ವಾಳ ಮೊಡಂಕಾಪು ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಇನ್ಫೆoಟ್ ಜೀಸಸ್ ಚರ್ಚ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲನಾ ಸಮಿತಿ ಸದಸ್ಯರಾಗಿ,
ತಿಸ್ರಿ ಒಡ್ದ್ ಇದರ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗಿ, ಕಥೋಲಿಕ್ ಸಭಾ ಇದರ ಸಕ್ರಿಯ ಸದಸ್ಯರಾಗಿ, ಕೊಡುಗೈದಾನಿಯಾಗಿ ಅನುಪಮ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದು, ಸದ್ಯ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಬಿಕರ್ಣಕಟ್ಟೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಜಯಶ್ರೀಗೇಟ್ ನ ಸ್ವನಿವಾಸದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಸಿದ್ದರು.
ಮೃತರು ಇಬ್ಬರು ಸುಪುತ್ರಿಯರು, ಮೂವರು ಸುಪುತ್ರರು ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಅಪಾರ ಬಂಧು ಬಳಗವನ್ನು ಅಗಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ನಾಳೆ ಗುರುವಾರ (ಮೇ. 23) ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನ 2:00 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಸ್ವನಿವಾಸಕ್ಕೆ ತಂದು ಬಳಿಕ 2:45 ರಿಂದ 3:30ರ ವರೆಗೆ ಬಜ್ಜೋಡಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ಇನ್ಫೆಂಟ್ ಮೇರಿ ಚರ್ಚ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ವೀಕ್ಷಣೆಗೆ ಇರಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು. 3:30 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಪೂಜೆ, ನಂತರ ಸೈoಟ್ ಸೆಬಾಸ್ಟಿಯನ್ ಚರ್ಚ್ (ಬೆಂದೂರು) ಇದರ ಸಮಾಧಿಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂತ್ಯಕ್ರಿಯೆ ನಡೆಯಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಕುಟುಂಬ ಮೂಲಗಳು ತಿಳಿಸಿದೆ.
Baptiste D’Cunha, known as a symbol of unity, passes away
Mr. Baptist D’Cunha, husband of Juliana D’Souza and a devoted member of Infant Mary Church, Bajodi, passed away due to illness on the morning of May 21, 2025, at the age of 84.
He is the beloved father of Molly (married to Richard D’Souza), Sr. Joyline, Rons Bantwal (married to Jacintha Tara), Dony Bantwal (married to Sunitha D’Souza), and Stanley Bantwal (married to Liffin Saldanha).
He is fondly remembered by his grandchildren Nisha, Nethan, Ronita, Ronwin, Sherin, Anvita, and Ancita.
He belonged to Mogarnad and resided in Bikarnakatte. He was known for his leadership qualities and active participation in parish activities.
He is the father of journalists Stany Bantwal and Rons Bantwal.
The funeral rites will be held at Infant Mary Church, Bajodi. The body will be brought home at 2:00 p.m., followed by public viewing at the church from 2:45 to 3:30 p.m. The funeral mass will begin at 3:30 p.m., and burial will take place at St. Sebastian Church cemetery on Thursday, May 22, 2025.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
