THE FEAST OF SAINT ANTHONY OF PADUA AT PAKALA SHRINE OF BELMAN PARISH
On 12th June 2019 on the eve the devotees gathered at 5. P. The Holy Mass was celebrated as a preparation for the feast by Rev. Fr. Pius dsouza a famous charismatic preacher and a youth director of Shivamoga diocese. He preached on the theme, “”Holiness as a sacred call”” He gave importance for the word of god in our daily life. He stressed on the choices we make every day. In His homily he gave importance for reconciliation. Family prayer and sharing. He invited us to live the values of Jesus Christ in our daily life with total commitment and do everything.”NOW’ and our daily life with total live in the present so as to be ready when the lord calls us to be with Him for eternity. We are pilgrims here on earth, this is our temporary place we need to focus on our creator with whom we are called to liver eternally.
On 13th the being the feast of Saint Anthony the Holy mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Dennis Dsa the dean of shirva varado. Rev. Fr. Rajesh Praveen Dsouza SVD focused our attention on prayer in family. Formation takes place at home he said being a parishioner he visited this shrine every often as a young boy. Where he strengthened his vacation to be a priest and a missionary. Today with gratitude and joy he recall s the grace and the gift received through the intercession of St. Anthony. He is happy to be a soldier of Christ in African soil. Francis of Assisi. He motivated the parents to be the model of Christ’s value by inculcating in their children love for prayer and the spirit of sharing. He insisted them to draw their children’s attention to the Lord than to the modern electronic gadgets. He gave witness to the effective and powerful intercession of St. Anthony.
Rev. Fr. Edwin Dsouza the parish priest thanked each and everyone who collaborated with him in making this feast a memorable one. Rev. Fr. Dennis Dsa appreciated Rev. Fr. Edwine Dsouza for his systematic way of organising and efficient leadership being the strong captain of this parish whose direction and guidance made this day a memorable and meaningful one. May St. Anthony continue to bless this shrine and very soon the dream of the shrine comes to reality. Alwyn Agera vice president of parish council, Favostine Dsouza Secretary of Parish council, and Pakala committee vice president Gregory Menezes and Secretary Gretta Dsouza were along with in thousands of Devotees presents in this occasion.
