ಮಂಗಳೂರು: ಜು.೨೪ ಮಣಿಪುರ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರ ಬೆತ್ತಲೆ ಮೆರವಣಿಗೆ,ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಸರಕಾರದ ಕುಮ್ಮಕ್ಕಿನಿಂದ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಅನಿಯಂತ್ರಿತ ಜನಾಂಗೀಯ ದ್ವೇಷದ ಗಲಭೆಯನ್ನು ಖಂಡಿಸಿ ಇಂದು ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಸಮಾನ ಮನಸ್ಕ ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳ ಜಂಟಿ ವೇದಿಕೆಯ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಕ್ಲಾಕ್ ಟವರ್ ಮುಂಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ದಿನಾಂಕ ಜುಲಾಯ್ ೨೩ ರಂದು ಬೃಹತ್ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ ನಡೆಯಿತು. ಸುರಿಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಧಾರಾಕಾರ ಮಳೆಯನ್ನೂ ಲೆಕ್ಕಿಸದೆ ಅಪಾರ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನಾಕಾರರು ಜಮಾಯಿಸಿದ್ದರು.ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ಜಾತ್ಯಾತೀತ ಪಕ್ಷಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳ ಜಂಟಿ ವೇದಿಕೆಯ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಮಾಜಿ ಸಚಿವ ಬಿ ರಮಾನಾಥ ರೈ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನಾ ಸಭೆಯನ್ನು ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿದರು.ಬಳಿಕ ಮದರ್ ಥೆರೆಸಾ ವಿಚಾರ ವೇದಿಕೆಯ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ರಾಯ್ ಕ್ಯಾಸ್ಟಲಿನೋ, ಡಿವೈಎಫ್ಐ ರಾಜ್ಯಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಮುನೀರ್ ಕಾಟಿಪಳ್ಳ,ರೈತ ಸಂಘದ ಸನ್ನಿ ಡಿಸೋಜ, ಕೆಥೋಲಿಕ್ ವುಮನ್ಸ್ ಅಸೋಸಿಯೇಷನ್‌ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಗ್ರೆಟ್ಟಾ ಪಿಂಟೊ,ಸಿಪಿಐ ಪಕ್ಷದ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಬಿ ಶೇಖರ್, ಮಹಿಳಾ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಶಾಲೆಟ್ ಪಿಂಟೋ ಸಭೆಯನ್ನುದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.
ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್,CPI, CPIM ಪಕ್ಷಗಳು ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ, ಯುವಜನ,ಮಹಿಳಾ,ದಲಿತ, ಆದಿವಾಸಿ,ವಕೀಲ, ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳ ಮುಖಂಡರು ಹಾಗೂ ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತರು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
Massive protest by like-minded people condemning Mangalore Manipur incident
Mangalore: July 24 Manipur women’s nude march, the uncontrolled racial hatred riots going on with the help of the BJP government, a massive protest was held in front of the clock tower on July 23 on behalf of the joint forum of like-minded organizations of Mangalore today. Despite the torrential rain, a large number of protestors gathered, especially women participated in large numbers.
Former Minister B Ramanath Rai, President of Joint Forum of Secular Parties and Organizations, inaugurated the protest meeting.Mother Teresa Forum President Roy Castellino, DYFI State President Munir Katipalla, Farmers’ Association Sunny D’Souza, Catholic Women’s Association District President Gretta Pinto, CPI Party District Secretary B Shekhar, Women’s Congress President Shalette Pinto. He addressed the gathering.
A large number of leaders and activists of Congress, CPI, CPIM parties, students, youth, women, dalit, adivasi, lawyers, cultural organizations participated in the protest.
