ಮಂಗಳೂರು, ಮಾ.3: ಕೆಥೋಲಿಕ್ ಸಭಾಸಂಘಟನೆಯು ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಶಾಖೆಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 2 ರಂದು ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಾದ್ಯಂತ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಚರ್ಚ್‌ಗಳ ಹೊರಭಾಗದ ರಸ್ತೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬುಧವಾರ ಶಾಂತಿಯುತ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆಯ ಸಂಕೇತವಾಗಿ ಮೇಣದಬತ್ತಿಗಳ ಬೆಳಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾನವ ಸರಪಳಿ ನಡೆಸಿತು.
ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರವು ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾಪಿಸಿದ ಮತಾಂತರ ವಿರೋಧಿ ಮಸೂದೆ.ರೊಸಾರಿಯೊ, ಮಿಲಾಗ್ರೆಸ್, ಬೆಜೈ, ಬೆಂದೂರು, ಬೊಂದೇಲ್ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಎಲ್ಲ ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷ್‌ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಏಕಕಾಲಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಜೆ 6 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ ಆರಂಭವಾಯಿತು. ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತರು ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಂಡು ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಕೋಮುವಾದದ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ವಿಭಜಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕಳವಳ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.ಅ।ವಂ। ಬಿಷಪ್ ಡಾ। ಪೀಟರ್ ಪಾವ್ಲ್ ಸಲ್ಡಾನ್ಹಾ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಧರ್ಮಗುರುಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸನ್ಯಾಸಿನಿಯರು, ಜೊತೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ಯಾಥೋಲಿಕ್‌ ಬಾಂಧವರು ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಂಡ್ಡರು.
ಅವರ್ ಲೇಡಿ ಆಫ್ ಮಿರಾಕಲ್ಸ್ ಚರ್ಚ್ ಕ್ಯಾಥೋಲಿಕ್ ಸಭೆಯ ಸಹಯೋಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಚರ್ಚ್ ಪ್ರಾಂತದಿಂದ ಮದರ್ ಥೆರೇಸಾ ರಸ್ತೆ (ಫಲ್ನೀರ್) ವರೆಗೆ ಕ್ಯಾಂಡಲ್ ಲೈಟ್ ಮಾನವ ಸರಪಳಿಯ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆಯನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರವು ಮಂಡಿಸಲು ಉದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿರುವ ಮತಾಂತರ ವಿರೋಧಿ ಮಸೂದೆಯನ್ನು ಗಮನದಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಧರ್ಮಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆಯನ್ನುಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.
ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆಯ ಸಂಚಾಲಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಕ್ಯಾಥೋಲಿಕ್ ಕೌನ್ಸಿಲ್ ಸದಸ್ಯ ಶ್ರೀ ಜಾನ್ ಮೊಂತೇರೊ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಮತಾಂತರ ವಿರೋಧಿ ಮಸೂದೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತರ ಮೇಲಿನ ದೌರ್ಜನ್ಯ, ನಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರಗಳ ಧ್ವಂಸ, ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತರ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಭಾವನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಉಂಟು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವಂತಹ ವಿಷಯಗಳ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ .ಉದ್ದೇಶಿತ ಮಸೂದೆಯು ಸಾಂವಿಧಾನಿಕ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟ ಉಲ್ಲಂಘನೆಯಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಮತ್ತು ಅದನ್ನು ದುರುಪಯೋಗಪಡಿಸಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದು ಮತ್ತು ಕ್ರಿಶ್ಚಿಯನ್ ಸಮುದಾಯವು ಬಹಳಷ್ಟು ಕಷ್ಟಗಳನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸಬೇಕಾಗಬಹುದು ಮತ್ತು ಪಾದ್ರಿಗಳು, ಸನ್ಯಾಸಿಗಳು, ಗಣ್ಯರು ಮತ್ತು ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತರು ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ತೊಂದರೆಗಳನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸಬೇಕಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಅದನ್ನು ಕೈಬಿಡುವಂತೆ ಸರ್ಕಾರವನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿ, ಮೌನ ಮೇಣದ ಬತ್ತಿಯ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲಾಯಿತು.

Mangaluru: Thousands of Diocesan Catholics unite in protest against Anti Conversion Bill

Mangaluru, Mar 2: The Catholic Sabha, along with all its local branches in the district, held a candle light human chain on the roads and highways outside all the churches throughout Dakshina Kannada district on Wednesday, March 2 as a mark of peaceful protest against the Anti Conversion Bill proposed by the Government of Karnataka.

The protest began at 6 PM simultaneously in all the parishes including Rosario, Milagres, Bejai, Bendoor, Bondel. Thousands of Christians participated expressing concern over the country being divided on communal lines. The priests and nuns led by Bishop Peter Paul Saldanha took part in the protest in large numbers.

Our lady of miracles church in association with catholic sabha has organised candle light human chain protest from the church primises to mother Theresa road(Falnir). The protest was planned by the Mangalore diocese in view of the anti conversion bill proposed to be moved by the government.

Mr. John Monteiro convenor of protest and member of catholic council of Karnataka said, the protest is against anti conversion bill as well as against the issues like atrocities committed on Christians, the demolition and destruction of our prayer centres, hurting the religious sentiments of Christians.

Silent candle light protest is to urge the government to drop the proposed bill as it is in clear violation of constitutional rights and it can also be misused and the Christian community may have to face a lot of hardship priests, nuns, laity leaders and parishioners took part in the protest.
