Mangaluru : The Annual Day programme at St Agnes PU College was celebrated with grandeur on 23 November 2023 at the college grounds. The chief guest Dr PL Dharma, Professor and Chairman, Department of Political Science, Mangalore University, Dr Sr Maria Roopa A.C., Joint Secretary, St Agnes Institutions and President of the day, PTA Vice President Prof Joslyn Lobo and PTA Joint Secretary Dr Divya Damodar, PTA executive committee members and all the dignitaries present on the occasion were accorded an effusive welcome with a ceremonial guard of honour.
The Principal Sr Norine DSouza welcomed the august gathering and introduced the chief guest. Prof PL Dharma addressed the audience and spoke on how proud he felt at the achievements of the girls and urged society to be the wind beneath their wings. He applauded the institution and its faculty for the encouraging and enabling ambience it has created. He pointed out that girls are the true wealth of the nation and they face immense challenges. He exhorted the girls to work towards achieving all their dreams, but to make sure that above all they become good human beings. His insightful message on the occasion served to enhance the vibrant atmosphere. The presence of the PTA members highlighted the collaborative efforts of the parents and the college. The chief guest Dr PL Dharma, the guest of honour Sr Dr Maria Roopa A.C. and the Principal Sr Norine DSouza presided over the felicitation ceremony to honour the students who had excelled in academics, sports and have contributed in several ways to the overall growth of the college through their dynamism and selfless efforts. Ms Wencita Dias, Cine star and alumna of the college was honoured on the occasion in recognition of her noteworthy contributions to the rich cultural tapestry of the region. Ms Shriraksha S H, a student of II PUC Science was also felicitated for her remarkable achievements in the fields of Indian classical dance and music. Ms Alisha Thimaiah a student of II PUC Arts was accorded praise and honours for her special achievement at the State Level Youth Parliament Competition where she won ‘The Best Parliamentarian’ award.
Academic high-flyers, outstanding National Level sports achievers, team captains, the cabinet members were also acclaimed underscoring the commitment of the college in nurturing both scholastic and extracurricular excellence. The best outgoing students Ms Gowthami S from the Science stream, Ms Aysha Zyma from the Arts stream, Ms Kadeeja Noha from the Commerce stream were honoured for their brilliance and dedicated service to the college. Ms Archi Girish Kumar from the Commerce stream was awarded ‘Best Outgoing Student’ by the PTA.
The cultural programmes were a mesmerizing blend of talent and creativity. A thought-provoking English tableau, a Kannada dance drama on Venerable Mother Veronica the founder of Apostolic Carmel Congregation and her inspiring journey of educating and enlightening girls, a dance performance embodying the qualities of courage and valour through the story of Arunima Sinha, melodious musical renditions and dazzling dance performances enthralled the audience and showcased a symphony of colours and diversity.
Mrs Supriya Shenoy, Dept. of Physics was the charismatic host for the formal function, Ms Prival DSouza, Ms Kadeeja Noha and Ms Alisha Thimaiah served as scintillating emcees for the cultural cornucopia of events and steered the programme with grace and élan. Mrs Joanne Sheethal, Dept. of English proposed the vote of thanks.
Mrs Joanne Sheethal and Dr P V Shobha, the convenors of the event meticulously planned the event under the able guidance of the Principal Sr Norine DSouza. ಮಂಗಳೂರು: ಸೇಂಟ್ ಆಗ್ನೆಸ್ ಪಿಯು ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ದಿನಾಚರಣೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು 23 ನವೆಂಬರ್ 2023 ರಂದು ಕಾಲೇಜು ಮೈದಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅದ್ದೂರಿಯಾಗಿ ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯದ ರಾಜ್ಯಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಡಾ.ಪಿ.ಎಲ್.ಧರ್ಮ, ಸೈಂಟ್ ಆಗ್ನೆಸ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಜಂಟಿ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಡಾ.ಭಗಿನಿ ಮರಿಯಾ ರೂಪ ಎ.ಸಿ. , ಪಿ.ಟಿ.ಎ ಕಾರ್ಯಕಾರಿ ಸಮಿತಿಯ ಸದಸ್ಯರು ಮತ್ತು ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದ ಎಲ್ಲ ಗಣ್ಯರಿಗೆ ವಿಧ್ಯುಕ್ತ ಗೌರವದ ಗೌರವದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಅದ್ದೂರಿ ಸ್ವಾಗತವನ್ನು ನೀಡಲಾಯಿತು.
ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ಭಗಿನಿ ನೊರಿನ್ ಡಿಸೋಜ ಅವರು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿ, ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಿದರು. ಪ್ರೊ.ಪಿ.ಎಲ್.ಧರ್ಮ ಅವರು ಸಭಿಕರನ್ನುದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಹೆಣ್ಣುಮಕ್ಕಳ ಸಾಧನೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅವರು ಎಷ್ಟು ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಪಡುತ್ತಾರೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮಾಜವು ಅವರ ರೆಕ್ಕೆಗಳ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಗಾಳಿಯಾಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿದರು. ಅವರು ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಅದರ ಅಧ್ಯಾಪಕರನ್ನು ಉತ್ತೇಜಿಸುವ ಮತ್ತು ಸಕ್ರಿಯಗೊಳಿಸುವ ವಾತಾವರಣಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಶ್ಲಾಘಿಸಿದರು. ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಮಕ್ಕಳು ದೇಶದ ನಿಜವಾದ ಸಂಪತ್ತು ಮತ್ತು ಅವರು ಅಪಾರ ಸವಾಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. ಹೆಣ್ಣುಮಕ್ಕಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕನಸುಗಳನ್ನು ನನಸಾಗಿಸಲು ಶ್ರಮಿಸಬೇಕು, ಆದರೆ ಎಲ್ಲಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಅವರು ಉತ್ತಮ ಮನುಷ್ಯರಾಗುವಂತೆ ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಸಲಹೆ ನೀಡಿದರು. ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ಒಳನೋಟವುಳ್ಳ ಸಂದೇಶವು ರೋಮಾಂಚಕ ವಾತಾವರಣವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಲು ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡಿತು. ಪಿಟಿಎ ಸದಸ್ಯರ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತಿಯು ಪೋಷಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಸಹಯೋಗದ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಗಳನ್ನು ಗಮನಾರ್ಹವಾಗಿದ್ದು ಗೋಚರಿಸಿತು. ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿ ಡಾ. ತಮ್ಮ ಕ್ರಿಯಾಶೀಲತೆ ಮತ್ತು ನಿಸ್ವಾರ್ಥ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಕಾಲೇಜು. ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ವೆನ್ಸಿಟಾ ಡಯಾಸ್, ಸಿನಿ ತಾರೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಹಳೆಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿಯರನ್ನು ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಶ್ರೀಮಂತ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳಿಗೆ ಅವರು ನೀಡಿದ ಗಮನಾರ್ಹ ಕೊಡುಗೆಗಳನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿ ಗೌರವಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ದ್ವಿತೀಯ ಪಿಯುಸಿ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿ ಶ್ರೀರಕ್ಷಾ ಎಸ್ ಎಚ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಭಾರತೀಯ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರೀಯ ನೃತ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಗೀತ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಗಮನಾರ್ಹ ಸಾಧನೆಗಾಗಿ ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ದ್ವಿತೀಯ ಪಿಯುಸಿ ಕಲಾ ವಿಭಾಗದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿ ಅಲಿಶಾ ತಿಮ್ಮಯ್ಯ ಅವರು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಮಟ್ಟದ ಯುವ ಸಂಸತ್ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ‘ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಸಂಸದೀಯ ಪಟು’ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಗೆದ್ದುಕೊಂಡ ವಿಶೇಷ ಸಾಧನೆಗಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಶಂಸೆ ಮತ್ತು ಗೌರವಕ್ಕೆ ಪಾತ್ರರಾದರು.
ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಪಠ್ಯೇತರ ಉತ್ಕೃಷ್ಟತೆಯನ್ನು ಪೋಷಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಬದ್ಧತೆಯನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಿಹೇಳುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಉನ್ನತ-ಫ್ಲೈಯರ್‌ಗಳು, ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮಟ್ಟದ ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ಸಾಧಕರು, ತಂಡದ ನಾಯಕರು, ಕ್ಯಾಬಿನೆಟ್ ಸದಸ್ಯರು ಸಹ ಮೆಚ್ಚುಗೆ ಪಡೆದರು. ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ವಿಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊರಹೋಗುವ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಗೌತಮಿ ಎಸ್, ಕಲಾ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಆಯ್ಷಾ ಝಿಮಾ, ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಎಂಎಸ್ ಆರ್ಚಿ ಗಿರೀಶ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರು ಪಿಟಿಎಯಿಂದ ‘ಬೆಸ್ಟ್ ಔಟ್‌ಗೋಯಿಂಗ್ ಸ್ಟೂಡೆಂಟ್’ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಪಡೆದರು.
ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳು ಪ್ರತಿಭೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸೃಜನಶೀಲತೆಯ ಸಮ್ಮಿಶ್ರಣವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಚಿಂತನ-ಪ್ರಚೋದಕ ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್ ಟ್ಯಾಬ್ಲೋ, ಅಪೋಸ್ಟೋಲಿಕ್ ಕಾರ್ಮೆಲ್ ಸಭೆಯ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕಿ ವೆರೋನಿಕಾ ಮದರ್ ವೆರೋನಿಕಾ ಅವರ ಕುರಿತಾದ ಕನ್ನಡ ನೃತ್ಯ ನಾಟಕ ಮತ್ತು ಹುಡುಗಿಯರಿಗೆ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಮತ್ತು ಜ್ಞಾನೋದಯ ನೀಡುವ ಅವರ ಸ್ಪೂರ್ತಿದಾಯಕ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ, ಅರುಣಿಮಾ ಸಿನ್ಹಾ ಅವರ ಕಥೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಧೈರ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಶೌರ್ಯದ ಗುಣಗಳನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡ ನೃತ್ಯ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ, ಸುಮಧುರ ಸಂಗೀತ ನಿರೂಪಣೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಬೆರಗುಗೊಳಿಸುವ ನೃತ್ಯ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನಗಳು ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರನ್ನು ಆಕರ್ಷಿಸಿದವು ಮತ್ತು ಬಣ್ಣಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ವೈವಿಧ್ಯತೆಯ ಸ್ವರಮೇಳವನ್ನು ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿಸಿದವು.
ಭೌತಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಸುಪ್ರಿಯಾ ಶೆಣೈ ಅವರು ಔಪಚಾರಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ವರ್ಚಸ್ವಿ ಆತಿಥ್ಯ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು, ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಪ್ರೈವಲ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ, ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಕದೀಜಾ ನೋಹಾ ಮತ್ತು ಎಂಎಸ್ ಅಲಿಶಾ ತಿಮಯ್ಯ ಅವರು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಕಾರ್ನುಕೋಪಿಯಾಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಮಿಂಚುವ ಎಮ್ಸಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಅನುಗ್ರಹದಿಂದ ಮತ್ತು ಎಲಾನ್‌ನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮುನ್ನಡೆಸಿದರು. ಆಂಗ್ಲ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಜೋನ್ ಶೀತಲ್ ವಂದಿಸಿದರು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಸಂಚಾಲಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಜೋನ್ನೆ ಶೀತಲ್ ಮತ್ತು ಡಾ ಪಿ ವಿ ಶೋಭಾ ಅವರು ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ಭಗಿನಿ ನೋರಿನ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ ಅವರ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ನಿಖರವಾಗಿ ಯೋಜಿಸಿದರು. ಕಾಲೇಜು ದಿನದ ಅದ್ಭುತ ಯಶಸ್ಸು ಸಹಕಾರದ ಮನೋಭಾವ ಮತ್ತು ಅಧ್ಯಾಪಕರು ಮತ್ತು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮದ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಗಳ ಫಲವಾಗಿದ್ದು ಮತ್ತು ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ನೀತಿ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳು ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿವೆ.
